Summary: Why Today's Bodybuilding Sucks?
I am a big fan of sports, exercises and healthy nutrition. However I'm really pissed of with today's bodybuilding situation in the world. That is why I made this blog, to show my opinion about that subject.

When I think of perfect biceps, I think of Arnold. His biceps were
perfectly rounded, and proportional with the rest of his body.
Arnold and his training partners were intense. It amazes me how
much work energy they invested to build biceps, often putting in 8
hour shifts of training at Venice Beach. Luckily, for us, training
knowledge has evolved. Here are some tips that will help you build
biceps as soon as possible.
1. Proper exercise selection is essential to build biceps.
When selecting exercises, you should choose those exercises that
stimulate the most motor units. The top three exercises to use are
the preacher curl, incline curl, and curls using a bicep blaster.
The standing curls that most people do involve too much cheating.
The mind to muscle connection is not strong enough to build biceps
optimally.
2. Using proper form is the next variable to build biceps.
Many people use entirely too much weight on their bicep curls. They
use their whole body during the motion. The body gives you feedback
when you are cheating. If you are cheating your feel the load
transfer through your shoulders. You should feel the load in the
bicep, almost exclusively. Your forearms should not be tensed. It
is humbling to use the amount of weight that you should be using.
However, backing off the load is usually the easiest way to improve
your form and build biceps.
3. Cycle your prime exercises through different
repetition schemes. There are three primary muscle fiber types in
your body. The three types are strength, strength endurance, and
endurance fibers. Strength fibers are trained using 8 reps or less.
Strength endurance fibers are trained using 9-20 reps. Endurance
fibers are trained by using many repetitions, say 50 to 100. At
each workout train the three exercises I suggested, but rotate
which muscle fibers you are training with each exercise.
4. At certain levels of training intensity, different
amounts of sets are optimal. Whichever exercise you choose to go
heavy on, use a high set, low rep scheme, such as 6 sets of 4. For
the exercise you choose to use for training strength endurance use
less sets, such as 3 sets of 9 reps. For your endurance exercise
just do one all out set with light weight, as many reps as you can
get.
If you follow these suggestions, you will build biceps as
soon as possible. Just make sure to eat good and rest between
sessions, for at least one day. I see many people train biceps a
few days in a row, and I feel it is a bad idea. It seemed to hinder
my success when I trained that much. Arnold and the boys already
learned the lessons for us. Why repeat the past? Get to the gym and
build biceps.

Steve Reeves- the greatest
bodybuilder of all time! He was also called "the body that
launched a thousand careers;" a winner of the Mr. America, Mr.
Universe and Mr. World titles. A man who's god-like looks caused
traffic accidents at busy intersections . He was a man whose
films inspired not only the average man in the street, but
luminaries such as James Dean, Sylvestor Stallone, Burt
Reynolds, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bo Derek, Bruce Lee, Willie
Mayes, Jesse Owens etc. Above all, however, he was a man who
lived life on his own terms and refused to do otherwise; turning
his back on Hollywood at the height of his popularity, having
made enough money to fulfill his dream of owning and operating
his own ranch. He would devote the rest of his life to breeding
horses and researching and creating new exercises and
bodybuilding methods that championed natural bodybuilding and
fitness.
In bodybuilding competition, the
greatest champions not only know of his greatness, but speak his
name in hallowed tones:
"Steve Reeves' physique is
perfect."
- Serigo Oliva, Mr.
Olympia
"A few days before the Mr. America
contest we heard rumors about a man who had throngs of people
following him along the Lake Michigan Beach front, and we
couldn't imagine who could draw crowds by merely walking along
the beach!"
-- George Eiferman, Mr.
America
"'Immortal' is the least word used
to describe Steve Reeves. His photographs are just fantastic. He
symbolized the perfect physique, and he was a legend in his own
time. He has been a great inspiration to many of us in the field
of bodybuilding."
-- Lou Ferrigno, Mr.
Universe (The Hulk)
"'Beautiful' was
not a word you usually use in describing a man, but in his case
it applies."
- Bill Pearl, Mr.
Universe
"The physique of the
century."
- Reg Park, Mr.
Universe
"The best looking, best built man
God has ever created."
- Larry Scott, Mr.
Olympia
"He is a great man and has
contributed much to the sport of bodybuilding … One of the best
builds throughout the history of bodybuilding … Steve was a great
inspiration to me."
- Arnold Schwarzenegger,
Mr. Olympia
"The World's Best Built
man"
- Ironman magazine

There are two types of bodybuilders. The ones with an X
shape, tiny waist are so called classic bodybuilders and the
massive muscle monsters are "Hulk" types, big guts and everything
packed with muscles. At the first sight, I couldn't see much
difference, because both types are huge, extremely muscled,
ripped and so on. But when I've read a few articles about what
should I look, I saw a big difference then. I'll give a few
examples here. The best example for classic shape is
Steve
Reeves. He may be the most symmetrical bodybuilder ever.
Steve
Reeves
Bill Pearl
Dorian
Yates Shawn Ray
And finally:
Ronnie Coleman
Flex Wheeler
Note: on this picture Coleman was pretty balanced and
his gut was small. Later he developed it drastically.
However, the difference is obvious.

Today's
pro bodybuilders look quite strange. There is no proportion to
them anymore, not really. I see guys now with gigantic
bloated stomachs - they have six packs or even eight-packs, but
the stomach protrudes like that of a pregnant woman. I see men
with quads so ridiculously huge that their calves look like
sticks, and guys with biceps and triceps so insanely swollen that
their forearms are completely out of proportion. And these
gigantic trapezius muscles that make their heads look tiny. This
is getting totally out of hand.
There is not just steroids.I fully realize that steroids.
Bodybuilders in the past used them too, although in smaller
quantities. What has been created by this overuse of steroids, is
a culture of bodybuilding where sheer size is favored over
proportion and fitness. All you need to do is take a look at
any current contestants in the major bodybuilding competitions to
see how mutated the sport has become since the days of Pumping
Iron.
On these pics on the left is one of the greatest
bodybuilders of all time, Big Ronnie Coleman , EIGHT time
Mister Olympia. Yes he is a monster, but he has a monster gut,
too.
He was in great shape when was
younger and lighter, but later... Just see the pics.Ok,
here he is ripped and X shaped, maybe this is also too much for a
mortal man, but much better them mass monster he later
became.
