10 Ways to Lose the Sale

Remember the old saying “Good Salesmen are Born”.  Well, anyone can become a good salesperson if they can learn and master the basic sales skills.  Sales techniques have dramatically changed over the years.  Gone are the old school selling methods of talking incessantly and pushing a customer into a sale.

Selling now involves listening to a customer, making a connection and giving the customer what they need.  Today’s skilled salespeople are self-confident, persuasive, attentive and able to build relationships of trust and respect with the customer.

There are many closing techniques that can be used to make the sale but watch out for the ten sales blunders listed below:

1. Talking Too Much – When trying to make a sale, you need to offer relevant information to the prospect.  You also need to find out what it is they need.  Asking questions and giving the customer plenty of time to answer is a good way to do this and avoid talking too much.  Incessant chattering about the weather, your sales skills, sports or any other irrelevant topic will only leave the prospect confused and disillusioned.  By talking too much about too little, you will most likely lose the sale and the customer.

2. Not Listening to the Customer – Many sales people will be so focused on making the sale, they fail to really listen to what the customers say and need.  You must focus on the customer’s needs so you can find a solution for them.  Ask them questions and listen intently to how they respond so you can identify and fulfill their needs.

3. Immediately Going for the Sale – Do not jump right into the sale.  Take the time to connect and establish a relationship with the prospect.  Let the customer know what your product can do for them and how it can solve their problem.  Show them you are interested in more than just making the sale.

4.  Not Being Prepared – Never meet with a customer unless you are prepared to do so.  Do your research.  Learn as much as you can about your prospect before meeting with them or talking to them.  Know what they need and what you can do to make their life easier.  You want to be able to offer them a solution right away.  Being properly prepared can make a big impression on your prospect and lead to sales.

5.  Not Being in Control – Leading the sales process is very important.  You will need to keep the conversation under your control.  One way to do this is by asking questions.  But you need to ask the right questions.  Get the information you need from the prospect so you know if your product or service will satisfy their needs.  You can then explain to them how you are going to solve their problems.  You want the customer to feel confident that you know what you are doing and what you are talking about.   Being in control of the conversation will do just that.

6.  Not Knowing Your Product – Not learning everything you possibly can about the products you sell is a definite mistake.  When making a sale, you need to educate people on how your product will benefit them and if you don’t know, you will definitely lose the sale.

7. Not Asking Questions – By asking questions, not only will you learn vital information about your prospect, but you will begin to make a connection and start building that all-important relationship.

8.  Not Following Up – Life would be much easier if we could all make the sale in one meeting or one phone call or one email but a lot of the time, it just doesn’t happen.  If the sale does not happen right away, be sure to follow up with the prospect.  Keep in touch so that when they are ready to buy, they buy from you.

9.  Not Focusing – Always be attentive to your prospect and make them feel important.  If you are fidgeting, looking around the room or appearing to be distracted, the customer will feel ignored and unimportant.  This will surely lead to a lost sale.   Always make direct eye contact, focus on the customer and every word that they say so you can deal with their needs.

10.  Not Closing the Sale – Ask for the sale but do it in a non-aggressive manner.  You do not want to come off as pushy or threatening in any way.  Customers sometimes just need a small nudge in order to make a final decision.   Don’t leave the customer just thinking about it.  Ask for and get a commitment!

Sales can be tough so you need to learn the process of how to build relationships, how to talk to people correctly, use proper body language and be prepared.  Be self-confident, persuasive and respectful and don’t make the above blunders.  If you can learn these skills, you can be a good salesperson!

What Is Affiliate Marketing

Earning an income as an affiliate marketer is more than people may know about. For one thing, it is a good way to earn an extra income, and for another, you don’t require a lot of income to start. That is a sure way to make money working from home on a small budget or none at all.

So what is affiliate marketing all about?

Well, it is the process of selling someone else’s goods and thereby earning a commission based on those sales. Usually, affiliate marketing does not require a person to operate a walk in business or to maintain an office or warehouse with employees. You do not have to sell tangible items to the locals and you do not have to be the one who processes the sales. Sound good so far? The one requirement that you should probably consider is having your own computer and website, such as a WordPress blog.

There is a lot to affiliate marketing, considering the different markets and niches that are available, the affiliate strategies that make one successful, and so on. But the bottom line is you can get started in no time, the possibilities are endless, and if you apply yourself, this can be a good income source to acquire and one that seems to be unending.

You usually SHOULD NOT HAVE TO get a business license to become an affiliate marketer. Although you should check your local city and state business license guidelines to be sure. Some municipalities may have requirements for you to consider before starting out.

So consider affiliate marketing and do some research. See what may be of interest for you to get started with, make a plan, put it into place and you’ll be well on your way with a work from home income in no time at all.

10 Ways to Brand Yourself for More Success

One thing I have learned since I have been in internet marketing is that you have to “brand yourself” in order to become successful.  Branding yourself means to make yourself stand out from the rest.  Be the one people remember and go to when they need your products and/or services.  Build your reputation as the go to person in your field.

Branding yourself will take work, time and commitment but it is essential for your business success.  Below are some things you can start doing to start the branding process.

1.  Have a Motto – Choose a motto to live by personally and professionally.  This will stick in people’s minds and help you focus as well.  My motto is to treat others as I would want them to treat me.  I try to live everyday by the Golden Rule!

2. Connect with People – Don’t just get through meetings, calls, appointments, etc.  Take the time to really connect with the people you are talking to.  Be open and listen intently to what others say.  Make the time with you memorable and satisfactory so people will be sure to return.

3.  Personalize – Anytime you send emails, postcards, letters or anything, make it personal.  Use the person’s name to show them they are not just another number or sale to you.  Send birthday and/or holiday greetings.  People need to feel like people and not just a dollar sign!

4.  Professional Networking – Join some good networking sites, groups and clubs.  Make yourself available for advice, help, and guidance.  Be sure to participate often.

5.  Always Be Honest and Upfront – Be honest with people.  Don’t use deceptive lines and tricks to get people to buy from you.  Let people know, honestly, what you can do for them.  If you cannot meet their needs, point them to someone who can.  They will remember your willingness to help and come back to you when you can meet their needs.

6.  Body Language – Using body language effectively can have a real impact on how people perceive you.  Always make direct eye contact. Let your eyes show friendliness and interest.  Use your eyebrows to show openness and understanding.  Don’t scrunch them disapprovingly.  Keep your brow relaxed.  Smile and don’t purse your lips or tighten your mouth.  Keep your arms unfolded and sit in a relaxed manner with good posture.  Don’t slouch or fidget.  The art of using proper body language is quite real so do some research and learn all you can.

7.  Go the Extra Mile – Help people whenever you can even if you don’t see a sale happening.  By offering extra help and support you are sending a message about what type of person you are and what kind of business you run.

8.  Believe in Yourself – If you don’t believe in yourself, how can you expect others to.  Always be positive in mind, spirit and attitude.  Be professional, and always create a positive image as well.  This will be a big factor in what people think of you.

9.  Email and Phone Etiquette – Write your emails with proper spelling and grammar.  Be courteous, friendly and helpful.  Do not use offensive words or phrases.  This goes for talking on the phone as well.  Using vulgar, offensive or unprofessional language will definitely be something people will not forget!

10.  Be Yourself – Don’t try to put on a façade.  Relax and let the person know how unique and authentic you are.

Branding yourself will help build your business success but it will help you in other ways as well.  You will form lasting and beneficial relationships with others – both personally and professionally.  You will learn more from the experiences of others and you will also learn more about yourself and how special and unique you really are.  And that, my friend, could be the biggest reward of all!

2 Ways to Generate Targeted Traffic to Your Blog

In the recent past, getting quality traffic was as easy as buying a cup of coffee. This was due to less Google stringent rules on websites. Due to vast completion, getting traffic is a big task and now you have to be smart in order to get the real targeted traffic to your website.

In this content we will discuss two quality ways of getting high value traffic for your blog business. Below are some of the best ways to generate traffic.

Press Release

Press release is an in-form traffic system that can populate your web around the globe. If done correctly your blog can be as popular like a celebrity blog. Truth be told, Google loves press release sites, this is because of the high value content that are being generated.

The best way to use the press release is to write news worthy story that will generate buzz within your niche. In a recent post I wrote a powerful guide on how to write a press release that will ultimately capture the eyeball of the editors.

After you have written the release, the next step is to use a submission service that will distribute your story to your audience. From my own experience the best press release service is PRWEB.COM period.

This is because; it will announce your release to almost every site that is within your niche. No one should cheat you that prweb.com is for the Big Dogs, NO, even bloggers and affiliate can use it as long as you approach it in a natural way. Make sure to take advantage writing and distributing your release to the masses.

Guest Blogging

Another way of getting high value traffic is through guest blogging. Since the Google panda update and the latest penguin update, more sites are in thirst of good quality content. Guest blogging is win-win situation. In fact guest blogging is one of the most ethical link building strategies that is recognized by Google.

How do you approach Guest Blogging? Below are the best ways to maximize your guest blogging:

  • Write an Epic title that will attract your potential readers
  • When writing your guest post, link it to your landing page
  • Use an anchor-text for SEO purposes
  • Your guest post should be from 750-2000 words
  • Mention the big blogs within your niche

If you follow the above strategies, I can really assure you that you will maximize your search engine traffic positively.

Based on the above two tips, I would encourage you to implement the both strategies in your blog and you will see how fast you can be popular.

Do you have any tips on Traffic generations?

A Good Online Reputation Is Important

Building a good online reputation is extremely important for those who run a business. This includes gaining a good reputation with the search engines and a good reputation with customers. The problem is that companies and businesses cannot control what others say about them so they need to find ways to control the information that shows in search results first.

Why Have a Reputation

The first question many ask is why a reputation online is necessary. Those who have no trail on the internet will miss out considerably. They will lose customers or clients and will struggle with business. This is because so many people are now using the internet for searches and purchases, whether they need a job or want to find the perfect gift.

Employers, potential employees, potential customers and home buyers – as examples – all look online for information about any person, company, product and property before making a purchase. Those who have a good reputation will gain business while those with negative reviews or no trail at all will struggle. The majority of the time this search is done on a professional ground but there are times that people will search for personal information.

Anything posted has the possibility of showing up online, which means that it is important to think before writing anything. This includes Facebook statues, articles and blog posts and even forum comments. They all affect the reputation of a person and a business and have an effect on the way others think of the person or business.

Find Out What Others Have Said

It is important to find out all of the information on the internet about the business or company. This is easily accomplished through a quick search with the business name. It is worth trying different search engines as the algorithms differ and different types of information will appear. If the name is common, there are chances that someone else will show up beforehand.

You will likely find a variety of information out there. Some of it will be links to social media pages, while other parts will be the link to the company website and third-party review websites about the company. Take a look at all the information available to determine whether it is good or bad.

Remove As Much Harmful Results as Possible

Business owners have no control over reviews that people leave or some of the information stored but they do have control over some areas. If there are forum posts that have been made on behalf of the company that are harmful, it is possible to modify or remove them. The account information will be required for this to happen. Other than that, there are options to request to have the information taken down or write a rebuttal for any negative comments.

Having a good online reputation is important for business. Potential customers and clients will search for more information about a company before making a purchase. If there is anything that damages that reputation online, there is a risk in losing business and money.

This is a guest post by Jean Ryan, an online entrepreneur and writer who helps online merchants improve their internet reputations through savvy social networking and daily online monitoring. She has written and published various articles on the subject and has consulted for various businesses, especially on the topic of the management of online reputation disasters.

Pinterest For Business: Doing It The Right Way

Pinterest is a photo sharing website that brings people of like interests together by tapping on their visual appeals. The saying that “a picture is worth a thousand words” is practically the concept behind Pinterest; people see, make judgments and take action based on their interpretation of an image. While it may seem that Pinterest is just for crafts and those that enjoy scrapebooking, it is absolutely more than that. And just like every other social media site, it plays a major role in business branding and lead generation. However, unlike them, Pinterest harnesses one of the vital powers to humanity; the power of vision.

How Does This Work For Business?

Do you remember those periods when you stopped abruptly on a webpage or book page due to a caption image? It could be a snapshot of a natural disaster, a crowd in a seminar, slim body structure, a latest car model or perhaps that of a celeb. But the point is you stopped for a while; glancing through the picture and perhaps reading down some lines to find what the message might be. If those images were to be replaced by some tiny texts, you may never have noticed them. That is just the simple truth and it happens to all of us… yes, minus you, if you think it hasn’t. On the other hand, if those images were to be an image from your blog, money making website or perhaps something about your business, can you imagine how many eyes will get to you or your business through that four-cornered graphics?

Instead of worrying over the right words to use that can attract a click-through to your blog, Pinterest offers a simple, stress-free way of doing this by sharing captivating photos about our business. This provides businesses the necessary tools they need to create brand connection online while reaching more audience and promoting their business.

Does Your Pin Matter?

Yes, to some extent it does! While Pinterest gives everybody the liberty to pin any photo that appeals to them, there are certain factors I consider while uploading any photo on my Pinterest board.

  • Relevancy: First of all, any photo I intend to pin must be relevant to my blog, website or business and must be linked to it. Like most bloggers, I manage a few blogs in various niches and I am always careful to ensure that my pins are related and linked to the appropriate one. Hence, if you run a restaurant, it may be appealing to upload and pin your menu or the looks of that freshly introduced dish which may get people interested. On the other hand, slim figure-8 images will be great for somebody that sells weight loss products, picture of your new arrivals for an online electronics retail store, etc. Your pins are just as powerful as their relevancy to your business!
  • Retouch before pining: The second thing I often do after selecting an image for Pinterest is to put some final touches on it. My favorite tools for this are the Mixbook and Snapily photo editing features. As a business, it makes sense not to upload a raw image; a touch here and there will always make them appear more attractive and thus get the result you want. For instance, a picture of some of your weight loss clients that sent in their testimonials last week could just be well organized with the help of some photo editing tools and pinned for interested eyes. The opportunity is limitless and I think that I can improve the results of every pin by making sure that it sends the right message.
  • Link every pin: I will always make sure that every pin I have on Pinterest is linked to a relevant webpage. It could be my blog, a web page containing my online profile, my money making or lead generating page or my other social media profile – I see every pin without a link to my site as a waste of time and effort. Also, I never fail to click through the link to ensure that it is the right link and not broken. We are all human and sometimes going through it a second time will help bring us closer to our goals.

Are you already on Pinterest or do you still want to make sure it is something that is worth your time? The truth is, every business with an online presence will eventually be on this social networking site and the earlier you get on-board the better.

Guest Post By: Steven writes for a Mixbook coupon and Snapily coupon site while occasionally publishing informative posts on Howtospoter.com. Take advantage of these Snapily coupon and Mixbook coupon to save more money while creating photo-related products this season.

Your Ezine Publishing Questions Answered

Ezine or newsletter publishing is an essential element of your online business.  Ezines allow you to keep in contact with your prospective customers and to build relationships of trust and respect.  Relationship building is the foundation of your online business and producing a quality ezine or newsletter can help you accomplish this.

Over the years I have been asked many questions about how to publish and ezine.  Below are many of the most common questions people have asked.

Q: What is an ezine?

An ezine is simply an electronic newsletter or magazine emailed periodically to a list of opt-in subscribers.  Opt-in means these subscribers have signed up for and given permission for you to send your ezine.

Q: To whom do I send my ezine?

You will need to build a list of subscribers by advertising and promoting your ezine.  There are several free ways to do this.

  • Ad Swaps – Running other publishers’ ads in exchange for running yours is a great way to get a lot of free exposure and to build your mailing list.
  • Writing Articles – When writing and submitting articles be sure to offer your free newsletter in the resource box.  If people like your articles they will probably sign up for your ezine.
  • SigTag – By adding an attention grabbing headline and your subscribe address to your email sigtag, you can substantially increase your mailing list.
  • Message Boards – Join message boards and discussion groups and add your subscribe address to your signature.  Join in the conversations and give advice, help and guidance.  This will help you build your list as well.
  • Social Sites – Be sure to post info and mention your ezine and/or newsletter on your social sites.  This is an excellent way to get people to sign up.
  • Joint Ventures – Contact other ezine publishers and work together to promote each other.  Exchange thank you page ads, participate in group pop-up windows, swap ads in your welcome email, etc.  Be creative with joint ventures and you can help each other get more subscribers.

Q: How can my ezine make money?

Your ezine is like a lifeline between your business and your readers.  Your readers will come to trust you and your reputation will grow along with your business.  You can also earn extra money by selling advertising space in your ezine.

Q: What do I put in my ezine?

Fill your ezine with resources, helpful information, some fun, motivational stories, original or guest articles, product and affiliate program reviews, freebies, webmaster tools, etc.  Put yourself in your ezine as well.  Let your readers get to know you and give your newsletter some personality.  Be sure to have your contact info readily available for your readers.  Write an editorial and talk to your readers.  Encourage them to interact with you.  Writing and publishing a quality ezine is fun so let your ideas flow for an interesting and unique ezine!

Q: How do I send out my ezine?

There are many options for emailing your ezine and many of them are free.  When I started my first ezine many years ago, I used Yahoo Groups for sending it out.  That worked out very well.  Other options include:

  • Autoresponder – A favorite of many publishers but can get costly.
  • Web Host mailing Feature – I have also used this option.  It is free and works out very well.
  • Mailing List Software – You can also purchase software to manage and send out your newsletter.

Experiment with your ezine.  Try new ideas and let your creativity come out.  Make your ezine an extension of you and your business.

Above all else, remember that your ezine is for your readers so take the time to publish a quality ezine so that your business and reputation will flourish!

Are you planning to open an online store for your business? If so then you have to understand a few things about website development. With the increasing online competition, having a fully functional website can help you to cut an edge over your competitors. However, for your website to be effective it has to be created by the best web developers. The good thing is that there are numerous reliable website developers that you can consider for your site. Apart from creating a website, you also have to know whom you should hire for your web hosting services. To learn more about this aspect go to Webhostingpad or register.com.

Is Web Hosting the Most Vital Part?

The most important part of creating a functional website is to find the best web hosting company. But this tends to give web owners a lot of problems especially since most of them do not know what webhosting is all about. It is therefore important for you to try and understand what these services are and how you can benefit from them. Fortunately, there are countless sources of information on web hosting that you can rely on. Remember, hosting your website is mandatory if at all you want it to be effective. This passage will provide you with the essential details about web hosting. Read on.

What exactly is Web Hosting?

Web hosting is basically the process of uploading files to a web host so that they can be available online. This makes it easy for web owners to provide information on their products and services to their target consumers. This process is quite complex and therefore it should be done by experts. Your web developer will provide the web host with their design according to your specifications, and depending on the software that your designer has used. Then, your website files are submitted to the host using special uploads for publication. Once your WebPages have been published they will be available on the internet for viewing. But the amount of viewership depends on the kind of hosting services you have hired. Some web hosts are very slow and reliable, and thus it is going to be very hard for your target consumers to access your products online.

You Way to Get Ahead from all at once

Choosing the right web hosting company is therefore a must if you want to cut an edge over your business rivals. Another benefit of hiring a reliable web host is that you will enjoy using simple but effective web hosting processes. Actually, most of these web hosts provide tools that make the entire process of hosting a website easy and quick. With these tools, you will be able to design your own WebPages without a hassle. What is more, some of these tools make it unnecessary to know the html code. However, it is always important to keep your organization’s objectives in mind whenever you are looking for a web hosting company. Today, it is possible to get web hosting services using a coupon code or a promotion code. Other hosting companies offer their services in exchange of advertising space.

The reason for doing this is that it will help you to protect your search engine’s rank. However, if the same content is submitted to different sites, it will be considered as a duplicate. However, Google has exceptions when it comes to such matters. It is important that you should submit your articles/blogs to prominent sites before sending them to other small articles.

The benefits of using press release

• When your readers try to read your article, they will be taken directly to your website where the original article is. This will increase traffic to your site. • You will get new readers to your site. This means that you will convert your readers from being new to regulars. When you do this, you site will become known to many people. • One is able to enhance the list building activity so that new visitors can sign up to your site. This means that you can convert the traffic generated through the press release. • One can consider using the idea of giving free but valued stuff to your new visitors. This is a way to encourage them to signup for your newsletters.

You are encouraged to try and use this option so that your website can gain more readers.

Best Ways To Improve SEO With Social Media Marketing

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a combination of several factors.

It can only produce results if the connecting factors are in agreement. Social media marketing is a term that’s common in today’s marketing world. A lot of people don’t really understand how optimizing a webpage to be more social, can affect the ranking of such page.

What impact has SMM on SEO?

Read on to get the full gist and I’m going to explain the best ways to make it work. This article is simple to read, practical and relevant to your business. After reading this post, you’ll know what you’re doing right or wrong and make adjustments where necessary.

The Whole Essence Of Web Marketing

One of the benefits of doing business online is to make money, but that’s not the essence. The ‘real’ reason why we all started marketing online is because there is a need to be met.

The need is hot, and a group of people were and are still desperate to get answers. Making money from your online ventures is cool, but is that why you started out in the first instance?

You’re here to meet a need, fulfill a desire and help someone become better – which is why your contents must first interest readers and prospects, before Google spiders can rank the page. So, the contents you put out there must be “VALUABLE” or else, you’re wasting precious time in your business.
Now, here are simple ways social media marketing impacts search engine optimization:

1. Communication

The first thing Google look-out for in any webpage is how communicable it is. Did you succeed in getting people to talk about your article? You might wonder how Google tracks this, but believe me; they’ve special scripts and settings to detect if your readers are ‘talking.’

Until they talk about it, Google will not deem your page suitable and relevant for future searches. Social media marketing first and foremost is a platform for communication.

The major reason why people joined Facebook was because they wanted to relate, communicate and share their opinions with like minds. If you can get people to share your posts, that’s a form of communication and Google will take note of this and serve your page to targeted readers when they search online.

2. It Creates Engagement

How much time did you spend on Facebook the last time you logged in? Recent studies show that a typical Facebook user spends at least 5 minutes, commenting, sharing and connecting with friends and making new ones. If you can get people to stay on your blog for 5 minutes or more, that’s a huge ‘plus’ on your search engine influence.

You need to engage people and there is no other way to achieve that than with social media marketing. If you can offer a valuable content that’s what talking about, and get people to share with friends and make citations to it, you’ll engage targeted readers easily. Google updates are driving towards building a more engaged web – are you a part of it?

Google definitely knows why this is important – when people are engaged, it means they are happy with what they’re reading. For instance, if a particular ‘news story’ interests you, do you leave the page or read further to get the nitty-gritty?

SEO Takeaway

Bloggers, webmasters and internet entrepreneurs fail to rank highly on major search engines, because, their contents are half-baked, focusing on keywords rather than answering questions asked by prospects.

But when you plan your next content and make it engaging and communicable, ranking on Google top 10 would be fun and worthwhile. Let the tips above guide you to the top.
