(More customer reviews)first off, the razor i got has a plastic handle with some type of chrome-like finish...different than the pictured item but i wasn't going to bother with a return/exchange.the handle is very lightweight while the blade arm is stainless steel and has some heft.this left the balance a little lopsided from what i'm used to but it wasn't a problem.the handle had a lot of scratches, dents, and other imperfections that i wouldn't expect from a new item.given the price, i wasn't too disappointed.

i just shaved with this and it definitely delivered everything i wanted when i bought it.more flexibility than a DE (safety razor) and none of the maintenance (honing, stropping, etc) of a traditional straight...also cheap.it isn't a true replacement for the real thing but it is better than a DE and much more ideal for everyday use (especially if you don't hone your own straights).

overall i think this is a good value.the performance exceeded my expectations and the appearance pretty much met expectations.at this price, you can't go wrong.give it a shot.

(More customer reviews)Mine just arrived (12/10/09). Really an attractive set.Fits nicely in the palm of your hand. Actual bowl colors are a wee bit different than the pictures shown.The inside is more of a subdued hot green, while the outer color is like a colonial blue. You get three boxes, each containing a hand dipped ceramic bowl and shave soap. To further clarify: you get 3 bowls, and 3 shave soaps. Now why I would want three bowls is a mystery to me. LOL...unless they break easily. Naw...they're pretty substantial and hefty. I suppose it's always nice to have a back up bowl, or two, or three. You could always use the other two bowls for other purposes: dipping sauce bowl, candle bowl, bowl to hold jewelry while showering or bathing, etc., etc. This 3 pack appears to be the only way that Amazon is selling them, so from now on all you have to buy is shave soap replacements. But even those appear to be quantity packs.

(More customer reviews)This trimmer is a nice product.For the most part it is superior to every electric shaver/trimmer I have ever owned.I received this one for Christmas and so far I'm pleased with it.It comes with nice durable trimming guides. (some other companies products provide flimsy crappy ones that break the second time you change them.)So far I use the trimmer maybe twice a week and I have only charged it once since December 26th so that should tell you something about the battery life.The trimmer itself fits nicely in your hand and is even quieter than my old one. (not that it matters)If you grow a beard or mustache or any form of facial hair do yourself a favor and purchase one of the Wahl products!This keeps your goatee or beard from getting too long and nasty.There is even some free lubricating oil included which they recommend you apply once a month.The only drawback I found about this product was that the trimmer is somewhat difficult to remove from the cheap plastic stand, and the stand is the one and only negative about this product.It takes up too much room on the sink for my taste, but you could consider just leaving the trimmer laying by itself that might work better.Overall I really liked this product.

With Wilkinson I use a Merkur Classic "Barber Pole" long safety razor which I got here from Amazon. I brush on a little sandalwood shave cream and a few smooth moves later I'm soft as a baby's... well, you know. It's nice to engage in one of those forgotten rituals that remind a man why it's great to be a man. Proper shaving has become a lost art for most men, but it doesn't have to be for you. Today's average man hasn't a clue about the fine art of the traditional wet shave that our grandfathers used to take part in because we've been conditioned to accept the cheap and disposable multi-blades that companies market today - because it makes them rich, not because it's a better product. (More customer reviews)The Derby blade (made, I believe, in Turkey) is not the sharpest blade out there but, in my mind, achieves the perfect balance between sharpness and smoothness: Sharp enough not to snag on tough bristles, but not so sharp as to make cuts and soreness inevitable. 100 of these will give you over a year of shaves - I find I can get at least five shaves out of a single blade with no decline in quality.

The 7AMS seem to be the best ratio of sharpness and comfort for me. and these are the blades I pretty much use every day now.I find this to be the blade that won't cut me to pieces and at the same time leaves me with a comfortable shave. I get about 5-8 shaves with each blade.

(More customer reviews)Don't waste your money on this straight razor if you have any plans to shave your face with it.It's never going to happen.It's way to dull to shave with right out of the box and needs to be professionally honed as most new razors do.So I sent it out and paid another $25 to get it sharpened but the man who does my other razors for me said that after 4 hours of effort there was just no way to get a proper edge on it because the metal was too soft and the grind was uneven along the edge.He explained that there were a number of poor quality blades for sales that just cannot be shaved with and that this was one.He showed me others as well so I'd know what to look for.Needless to say I was very unhappy with my bargain priced razor.
