(More customer reviews)I have these and realized that I saved money when I used them. I buy a bottle of juice at the gas station every morning. If each bottle costs about a dollar, that is five bucks a week. With this juice box, I buy a carton, large bottle or frozen concentrate of juice. I save money, and being a college student, saving money is good.
This is also much safer in my car. With a bottle, you have to unscrew the cap, which isn't very safe if you're driving down the road. With this bottle, I just pop the top and the bottle is open.
This bottle also keeps my car cleaner. I don't have to worry about the juice spilling being the drinking spout snaps closed. I also don't have juice bottles all over my car.

(More customer reviews)The Blendtec is a professional product, made to work, and it does. The power is great; the blades are very strong and take chopping ice everyday as does the motor. We are constantly making smoothies. The cycles programmed in can do a lot of "smoothing without thinking."

It's true, the documentation that comes with it is sparse, but if you feel it's necessary, find a book on blending, on Amazon. You cant judge a professional tool by a recipe book, they expect you to know how to use a blender.

I used to go through blenders in about three months, even the very high priced Braun went in less than 6 months (it cost a grand). My first Blendtec is now 2 years old, and all I had to replace is the jar. I now have a second, and won't buy another brand blender anymore.

(More customer reviews)I have had the HP3 Blender for several years and a friend has the same blender.We both experience the same problems with the Carafe.The Blade mechanism will begin to "freeze" with time--to the point that it will become unusable.You will notice eventually that bits of the rubber washers flake off, or you may see metal shavings on the motor cover as the high torque on the motor begins to eat away at the metal coupling on the bottom of the carafe.The bottom of the carafe (plastic) will develop numerous stress cracks; eventually the enire blade mechansim will break away from the plastic.We have gone through 6 carafes over the last three years--and we do not use these THAT often. I would characterize our use as light household use. We use them for smoothies--no ice added, just regular standard blending of soy milk, fruit, yogurt, and protein powder.For the price, this is ridiculous.Replacement carafes are $70.00 or so.

There's a popsicle tray, then a metal top that goes over it with small slits for popsicle sticks, which are all resting out of the tray at slightly different angles. (In real life, it's impossible to get them to stay even that straight.) So, to skip to the punchline, when you try to remove the metal tray, you can't, since the sticks aren't straight, and aren't all slanted in the same direction. Pulling out the tray ends up dislodging all of the popsicles at the same time. It breaks some, and it's an enormous hassle. This is an awful product that, clearly, was never tested before being put on the market.

(More customer reviews)Simple product that works great!Uses 3 cups of yogurt, juice or softened ice cream to make 8 perfect popsicles or ice cream bars.Sturdy and well made - dishwasher safe.I love that it uses wooden sticks - like real popsicles - instead of the plastic handles that came with other ice molds I've tried.This one freezes fast and the bars are sort of "bomb-shaped" and easy to eat.It comes with only a few sticks to get you started, but they are easy to find at any craft store ... and are cheap.I use my ice cream maker to prepare my favorite home made ice cream (chocolate mint) to a slushy state and pour it into the molds - also works with store bought ice creams that are partially thawed.The (small) pamphlet that comes with the product has a great recipe for frozen latte bars - coffee!!I haven't tried it yet, but sounds wonderful.
The small parts that are mentioned in other reviews are only the eight, individual caps for each mold. (A total of only 9 parts to the whole set, plus disposable popsicle sticks). These caps hold the sticks in the proper place for freezing.They are removed once the popsicles are frozen, so I just take them all off at one time and store them together.The molds themselves are all held together in a metal frame, so I think this set is much easier to keep up with than the T*pperware versions of years ago.
Well worth the price.Only wish it made about twice as many bars...guess I need to order another set!

Dr. Weil 9804 The Healthy Kitchen Stainless-Steel 80-Watt Juicer with Stainless-Steel Cup Review

(More customer reviews)After a lot of research I bought the Weil and the Tribest Citristar knowing one was getting returned.This is a comparison of both.
The Weil is 30 watts stronger, I'll give it that.It's much harder to stop the Weil than the Citristar with your hand but both motors are more than capable of the job.It is also a bit better looking, being steel on the outside vs. plastic.Cons are:

1. Not very big at base, therefore tends to wobble just a bit at times. Tribest has much larger base and is far sturdier.

2. The reemer isn't wide enough so instead of just pressing down you have to kind of squeeze the sides into it to extract all the juice.Also, half the ridges on the reemer or smooth and curved instead of coming to a point.This prohibits it from really tearing into the flesh of the fruit and extracting all the juice.I compared both with the same amount of oranges and the citristar extracted about 10% more juice than the Weil.

3.The reemer on the citristar is much sturdier due to the shaft it sits on being twice as big as the Weil.

Both were comparable in noise level in that the Citristar is slightly louder but the Weil has a much higher pitched squeel to it that I thought was a bit irritating.Cleanup for both was very easing.Both seemed to have the same pulp content in the juice.Generally, I feel the Citristar is a better all around juicer.The Weil seems more like asthetics may have been the top priority.Weil introduced this juicer with a whole lineup of kitchen appliances instead of focusing on just this product.It's advertised as being Swiss.I don't quite see it.Overall, it's a decent juicer but for the current price of $80 to $100 either get the Citristar or step up to the Breville Citrus Press.

(More customer reviews)This juicer is one of the worst juicers I've ever used.Don't be fooled by the claims made during the infomercial.This juicer barely has the ability to shred the produce fed into it, much less efficiently extract the any juice from the pulp.Worst of all, it is actually dangerous to use.It all comes down to poor design.

The primary flaw with this juicer is that the feed tube directs its contents into the center of the shredding blade where it spins the slowest. To make matters worse, the teeth at the center of the shredding blade are arranged in the same circular path.This tooth arrangement fails to generate any shredding action between the blades, and only grinds circular groves in the produce.Thus, the produce tends feed very slowly, or actually stalls in the grind tube.This slowed feeding action also seems to cause the centrifuge basket to slow down, and clog up.I'm not exactly sure why this happens, but I suspect it may have something to do with the produce binding between the bottom edge of the feed tube and the center of the shredding blade.Obviously, once the centrifuge basket gets clogged, less juice is extracted, the pulp is wetter, and more juice ends up in the pulp receptacle.

The second flaw is that the pulp is only discharged into the pulp receptacle from one side of the shredding /centrifuge chamber.This tends to cause the pulp to linger in the centrifuge basket, and compounds the clogging problem. Once the centrifuge basket gets clogged, the pulp begins to stick to the inside of the shredding /centrifuge chamber, and eventually seems to make its way into the juice catch basin.

The third flaw is that juice catch basin is flat on the bottom, and does not drain well.Pulp particles in the juice tend to settle on the bottom the juice catch basin, and eventually may stop the juice from draining.When this occurs, juice will flow over the inside lip of the juice catch basin, and stream down the motor housing.Wait; it gets worse!Since the motor's cooling vents are on the sides of the motor housing directly below the juice catch basin, juice escaping from the juice catch basin tends to flow into the motor housing through the cooling vents creating an electrical hazard.

Not flaws, but worth mentioning:
When the juice catch basin is installed, and the shredding blade spun onto the drive shaft before the centrifuge basket is installed, it will be very difficult to uninstall the shredding blade because there is no way to stop the drive shaft from rotating.

Since the feed tube is located in close proximity to the drain spout & juice cup, small produce items sometimes fall into the juice cup during the juicing process.

(More customer reviews)I collect Pistoulet and have yet to find a practical glass or cup.I do not use these much because they are hand painted and cannot be put in the dishwasher.In addition they are very thin and fragile.I have broke several just from hand washing them.Don't bother with Pistoulet's plastic tumblers because I have not even had them for a year and they all had to be thrown out.They crack and split in the dishwasher. Then they leak and look awful.I wish Pfalzgraff would make a nice heavy tall glass and juice glasses in the Pistoulet pattern.My friend collects an older garden type pattern and has so many beautiful, practical and durable glasses.

(More customer reviews)I simply love these little glass bottles. I use them to put liquid medication that I have to take three times a day. Before I found these, I was using empty pill bottles, which were cumbersome and bulky. Now I just squirt the liquid into the bottle, add a little bit of Coca-Cola with a funnel, and screw on the plastic caps, which are great and spillproof. You could use these bottles for anything, since they're so small and compact. I'm going to order another batch of 20 to use as water cups for my painting. I think the price is reasonable (I wish Amazon would sell them so I could save on shipping), and I never could find something like these anywhere else.

So if you have any need for small bottles, give these a try!
