Serviced apartment provider improves Canary Wharf services


Trinity_Tower_team_saco2Global serviced apartment network SACO has announced that a collection of serviced apartments in Canary Wharf will now operate as an apart-hotel, with the appointment of a customer service team and installation of a new 24/7 reception.

After opening in October last year, SACO has extended its service at Trinity Tower in Canary Wharf by employing a customer relations team to run a new ground floor reception area.

Retirement of trade shipping manager for international shipping company


Jack_Dorrington2At the age of 68 and after eight years with Anglo Pacific International Plc., trade shipping manager Jack Dorrington has finally succumbed to retirement. 

A well-known figurehead in the industry, Mr Dorrington will be sorely missed as he passes the baton onto his successor, Teresa Connolly.

Joining the company in 2003, Jack brought a wealth of removals experience with him from stints with Pickfords and TEAM Relocations, alongside a sizeable collection of stories from his interesting life.

The global NatWest IPB Quality of Life report, in conjunction with the Centre of Future Studies, reveals the things expats miss most about the UK have changed over the past five years.

As the economies of China and Singapore continue to boom, the number of people looking to move to Western Europe and the US are declining according to the fifth annual NatWest International Personal Banking (NatWest IPB) Quality of Life Index.

The NatWest IPB Quality of Life study in conjunction with The Centre of Future Studies incorporates expats’ real life perceptions and experiences and gages their personal assessment - satisfaction or dissatisfaction - with their circumstances abroad. It reveals how the motivations and triggers for expats have changed over the last five years.

Canada remains top choice for expats, suggests research


Canada2The number one country for the best quality of life experience for expats (82%) is Canada once again, according to the fifth annual NatWest International Personal Banking (NatWest IPB) Quality of Life Index.

It is the third year since the index began that the country renowned for its natural beauty, mountains and maple syrup has been voted top by expats.

Expats are “living the dream” despite global turmoil

Indeed, the quality of life abroad for seven in ten expats hasn’t reduced and they believe their decision to move abroad was the right one according to the fifth annual NatWest International Personal Banking (NatWest IPB) Quality of Life Index.

However, the five year global Quality of Life Index of British expatriate opinions and attitudes in conjunction with the Centre of Future Studies reveals that even expats have had to make some changes to their way of living as the impact of the global financial crisis bites.

Challenging start to 2012 for UK serviced apartments


servicedaccommodation10Figures released today by the Association of Serviced Apartment Providers (ASAP) confirm that the first quarter has proved challenging for many operators in the serviced apartment sector.

The figures from ASAP, which has 56 members across the UK and Ireland and represents in excess of 12,000 apartments, suggest that the average overall occupancy for London was 77% for the first quarter with January in particular starting slowly with average occupancy of 73%.

Thames Pageant set to be highlight of Diamond Jubilee

Olympic Torch Relay

The 2012 Olympic Flame arrived in the UK on 18 May 2012, on board British Airways flight BA2012, a gold-liveried airliner named The Firefly.
