If you are in the UK like me you will know that our weather
sucks.

That can create
problems for wheelchair users who have to deal with it.
Fortunately, there are a plenty of accessories which can help
wheelchair users cope with the weather.
The
breathable Taslan Jacket is lined with a
removable water-proof thermal fleece to keep you dry - without
overheating. The item comes in different sizes, of course.
There is also a children's version - a
wheely mac specially designed to keep kids dry
from head to toe. There's also a
wheely cosy to keep kids legs nice and warm!
Size for these items need to be chosen based on the child's age.
With a bit of help from accessories like these, we can beat the
British weather and stay warm and dry while out and about!

There are precious few videos on YouTube about wheelchair
accessories but here is one of them - with some cool looking

This is one of the coolest wheelchair videos around! You'll have to
hold on a bit for the backflip, but it's well worth watching when
you get to it!

I love the name of this accessory because it makes me think of a
dodgy American horror movie.
(Although when I looked up the movie it actually looked quite
scary - see the image to the right.)
Anyway, the
Drink Thing is not scary at all. (Honest!)
Hailing from the US (where it is patented).
It's essentially a two ring bottle holding system that clips on
to your wheelchair and folds down when not in use.
Now, check out this trailer of The Thing and tell me if you
think it is scary or not.

Okay, so this isn't about wheelchair accessories, but this is my
blog so I can do what I want with it :) And anyway, I think that
mask is a pretty cool accessory, don't you?

Ever wondered what the top selling wheelchair accessory is?
I am writing from the rainy UK, so that may give you a hint. (If
that doesn't, the image to right surely will!) The accessory is,
of course,
the wheely brella.
It may not be the coolest wheelchair accessory in the world, but
it is incredibly useful in a rainy country like the UK.
Designed to keep you both cool in the summer and dry in in a
shower, the umbrella section has a flexible arm designed to allow
the umbrella to be tilted. Because we all know the rain in the UK
can come from any direction.
