One of the thoughts that had been rattling around in my head for
the last several years is the idea that the universe could be old
and that when God decided to start things moving on Earth that is
where our history begins. ...One of the thoughts that had been

If you use YouTube, you can check out our channel here: ...We have
a handful of videos to check out there, but we are in the process
of making a whole slew of Creation Astronomy videos.

The leap second is essentially the same thing as a leap year,
except we are adding a second to the year instead of a year. ...If
the Earth were billions of years old, this would amount to a spin
rate so fast that life simply could not exist.

Spike Psarris, who is the author and producer of the excellent DVD,
Our Created Solar System, was recently attacked by Phil Plait who
writes the “Bad Astronomy” blog. Spike’s response to Phil was
well-written, so I asked him for permission to post it here on our
blog.

We recently received the following email: "Hello, I came across
your website during an image search in which a link took me to your
website and out of mere curiosity had read what the "4th Day
Alliance" is about. ...Creation astronomers believe that "the
heavens declare the glory of God," and therefore scientific inquiry
into the nature and substance of the "heavens" will further and
more greatly reveal God's glory if we begin with the premise that
God Himself did create it all.

The reality of the size of the universe should (and I've found
typically does) magnify the measure of God's love for this world
(John 3:16), which is seen by taking upon Himself the form of a
servant and entering into this world in the form of a man
(Philippians 2:7-8) to suffer and die for our sins. ...Even if we
changed the emphasis and stated that God is "powerful enough to
create all of this," as you suggested, we still end up with the
same problem—meaning that God doesn't actually have a measure of
"power" as we generally understand that word.

Consequently, we will need to postpone our highly anticipated
Creation Astronomy Conference until the summer of 2012 (since it is
currently scheduled in close proximity to the time many of us will
be moving). ...In short, we are just one out of a train of many
ministries over the years that has decided that California is not
the best place for us to be located (others include: Focus on the
Family, Institute for Creation Research, and the Bible Answer Man),
so we are going to move to Boise, Idaho.

You’ve probably heard the news lately about Stephen Hawking’s claim
that the universe created itself and therefore there is no need for
God. Well, Spike Psarris, the author of the Our Created Solar
System DVD, has released an excellent response to Hawking’s claim.

This is also called "the night of opposition" because Jupiter will
be opposite the sun, rising at sunset and soaring overhead at
midnight. ...Because Jupiter is so close, the planet's disk can be
seen in rare detail—and there is a lot to see.

soon as we work out all the “kinks” in the system to ensure that we
have a first-class online instructional system.

The tensions of everyday life seem to drain away before the wonder
and enormity of the skies, and those standing in darkness with
heads turned upward never ask people beside them about their
origins or beliefs. ...Let’s get creation astronomers, parents,
home-educators, students, churches, etc. around the world out with
their telescopes, books, and videos holding events and sharing the
message of the “Glory of God in the Heavens!”

Scientists first confirmed the traces of water in the uppermost
layers of the lunar surface, based on detections of either water or
a hydroxyl group (oxygen and hydrogen chemically bonded) made by
India's Chandrayaan-1, NASA's Cassini spacecraft and NASA's Deep
Impact probe. ...Well, first of all it is interesting to note that
the main thrust of this article is the reality that water on the
Moon could be used for future scientific endeavors.
