You get what you pay for is very real with juicers. I have been juicing for more than 10 years and have graduated from centrifical force juicers to masticating to the Green Power. It is everything it says it is.My family juices daily. This juicer is definitely quieter than all other juicers we have used. The juice has less pulp than other juicers we have used as well a better tasting juice (even with mediocre carrots). Cleaning the juicer is the easiest of all juicers we have had. (That's worth the extra bucks). If you're a serious juicer go to the top of the line. You won't be disappointed.

(More customer reviews)This is incredibly handy, compact, and powerful. I've found that it's great for baking preparation, chopping nuts, mincing vegetables, and blending thicker sauces (My peanut sauce came out great!).
However, there are a few problems I can't overlook:
1.) Do not fill the processor more than half way (This reduces the capacity to about 2 cups) -- especially if you are making beverages or thin sauces. When you remove the canister to pour the contents out, the contents sometimes spill through the center of the canister (all over your kitchen counter), even if you have left in the blade attachment.
2.) Ice is a no-go. I almost burnt out the motor trying to make margaritas. (I was on vacation and accidentally left my blender at home.)
If you need a mini chopper select projects (e.g. baking, salad making), this is a good investment. However, if you need more flexibility and power, I would suggest buying a larger model.

Tried 11 Oster's and 8 Black & Decker steamers over the past 2.5 years. Oster's electronics went out. B&D's plastic cracked in dishwasher and fell apart. We steam 2x per day fully loaded.

The Taylor made Biggest Loser Steamer so far exceeds both the others. It's still new - only 3 weeks of use - but it's design is obviously well thought through. Easy to read numbers on the timer, back-lit water level indicator, power on light easy to see across the kitchen. Nice colors and lip handles on water part means you don't have to wait for it to cool down to take apart. Plastic is thicker so we hope it won't crack in the dishwasher.

UPDATE: Less than 2 months of use, like a hot marbel dropped in cold water, the CLEAR plastic parts are shattering. Only the CLEAR plastic, NOT the GREEN plastic. Both are washed together in the dishwasher. AND the knob now turns only clockwise. It's jammed if we try to turn it counter-clockwise.Just ordered another black & decker which holds up the best.

I don't know how to reduce the # of stars, but now I give it a 1 star.

Looks like we're the biggest loser.

1. This Juicer is easy to assemble:the Juiceman Jr always was difficult to connect all of the partstogether.
2. This Juicer is easy to DISassemble: Trying to take therotating mesh blade off of the Juiceman Jr is a pain (and can bepainfull!)
3. The design is VERY spacesaving and ergonomically correct:The Juiceman Jr has a large, unnatached bin and normal glass that doesn'tfit or store well with the juicer unit. The Braun Juice Extractor however,fits together in all one base unit, and even the pouring bin that recievesthe juice snuggly fits against the juicer unit.
4. The REALLY cool foamstrainer: This is the best part! If you've ever juiced, you know what apain the foam at the top is! You can't get rid of the foam without actuallystraining it or scooping it away; you can kiss that foam goodbye with thestrainer!
5. The detachable tray at the top allows you to hold your fruitand veggies without messing up other bowls and cutting boards.

Fissler Original Pro Collection 3-Quart Casserole Review

(More customer reviews)I own a lot of high quality cookware, including Le Creuset cast iron, which I use mostly for simmering and stewing, and Mauviel copper, which I use for tasks that need a more responsive pan. I forget exactly why I bought this particular Fissler stainless steel casserole, but it has been an excellent buy. It is very heavy, which makes it good for simmering stews, soups or pasta sauces. It feels extremely well made. Although it does not have the smooth internal enamel surface of a Le Creuset, food does not burn or stick to the pan and cleaning up after use is easy. For me the most important point is that because of the stainless steel surface I can use a Braun hand blender directly inside the pan to liquidise soups with worrying about the finish - I would be very reluctant to do that with any of my Le Creuset pieces. Externally the finish has developed a stained patina that I could no doubt remove if I wanted but I prefer it as it is; it looks pleasantly well used. The handles get warm but they do (as promised) stay cool enough to touch in nearly all circumstances. After two years of use I am very happy with this pan and I have recently ordered two other Fissler pieces to go with it. I have looked at other stainless steel pieces in stores but I haven't seen any that I felt compared favourably to the Fissler in terms of durability. The sole disadvantage is that these are not cheap. I suppose one could also argue that the Le Creuset look more attractive, but for sheer toughness Fissler has it.

Oster 3212 Inspire Food Processor Review

(More customer reviews)There are a lot of things I like about this Oster Inspire model, mostly I like the sleek industrial design that looks really great on your countertop. And its a good thing, because at FIFTEEN LBS you wont be removing this thing to the cabinet, or visa versa, very often.

I also like the extra sharp cutting blade, but I dont like the fact that it arrives with no blade guard, and wedged into the styrofoam packaging so tight you basically have to hammer it out of the package while making sure the exposed blade doesnt slice your toe off. I also like the plastic storage case for all the many accessories, but I dont like the abridged manual with its complete lack of illustrated instructions. Dont believe me, download the manual above, its cryptic and incomplete. However, on the flip side it makes me laugh that the English manual is 6 pages, while the French and Spanish manuals are a whopping 8 pages long! haw haw

But, when it comes right down to doing its job, this is the best food processor I've ever used. Its powerful, and makes quick work out of virtually any kind of vegetable, fruit, or meat, and cleanup is a breeze. But dont get too excited about the "gourmet french fry" cutter, unless you like your fries cut to one inch lengths.

Oster also includes a booklet titled "The Art of Food" which I was quite sure had a collection of recipes that benefited from a versatile food processor, but to my dissapointment all I got was a collection of random recipes from pork chops to pizza to even donuts that merely encourage you to use other Oster kitchen products. And alas, if you were wondering....yes, this machine was Made in China. (harrumfff snort growl)

Overall I give this beautiful device a 5 for the design, and 2 1/2 for Oster's irresponsible packaging and crappy documentation. 4 Onions

This beast is very powerful but it really does fall short in a couple areas so I couldn't give it a perfect score. Overall I am happy with my purchase. Let me explain...

First the good. Like I mentioned before this baby is powerful. It feels like you could process a brick in this machine if you really wanted to. The chute is MASSIVE! I read about this before purchasing this processor but I didn't realize the chute was actually this freggin huge! You really can fit good sized tomatoes, onions, green peppers...etc into this chute. I've read reviews that said that this processor is hard to put together. I found that it was a bit akward at first, but once you realize how everything fits it becomes perfectly natural. Also cleanup really is a snap.

Even though this processor is great, there are a few flaws in the design that hinder this from getting a perfect score. My biggest complaint is that there is a good sized gap between the bottom of the chute and the blade. You don't utilize the entire piece of food. For example if you put a potato in the chute and slice it, when you get to the end of the potato it will not slice completely. Instead it will fall into the gap between the chute and the blade and it will spin round and round. There is nothing you can do about this. Sometimes when you shred something, it doesn't come out shredded quite right. This is pretty rare but it does happen.

One other thing is that this beast is MASSIVE! I didn't realize how big this processor really is! Sometimes it seems like it's too big for the job. I don't consider this a good or bad thing because if you have a larger family then this is definitely a plus.

Overall I recommend this processor. It does have a few minor flaws (as they all do) which hinder it from a perfect score, on the other hand it does it's job so well that you can't help but love it. If you are looking for a good food processor for a good price then I recommend taking a look at this one. Price/value wise this is the best food processor i've ever owned.

(More customer reviews)I just made my first batch of spaghetti with this attachment and after having read the horror stories here and the warnings in the Kitchenaid guide that it might require several batches to get it right, I was stunned at how easy and painless it proved to be.
The spaghetti came out quite nice, albeit a little curled on the ends when it first came out.My biggest dread was dealing with the fresh product sticking together, but it came out essentially dry to the touch and didnt stick at all.In fact, I didnt even bother laying it out in a single row, just separated it a little before dropping into the pot.If I were to guess, I think the key to my painless experience was letting it rest in the fridge for 30 minutes wrapped tightly in plastic.I know there's alot of complex flour chemistry going on in that resting period.
Furthermore, if you are wondering, the fresh pasta was far tastier than the dry stuff.I can't wait to toss it with some fresh sauce next summer.Good luck!

(More customer reviews)This product was nice while it lasted, but that was less than 2 months.I purchased mine the week after Thanksgiving and used it a few times a week.I always washed it by hand, even though the instructions state that it's dishwasher-safe.However, after about 6 weeks, the plastic piece at the end of the mixing rod cracked in half and fell off, which rendered the product useless since that piece holds the propeller in place.

I e-mailed Bodum's customer service department, explained the problem, and asked them to replace the broken piece.They responded that the piece I needed would not be available for 4-6 weeks.I then told them that I had really enjoyed the product and did not want to be without my newly purchased hot chocolate maker for a month or longer in the middle of winter, when I use it the most, and asked that they send me a whole new Chocolatiere since they could not promptly replace the part that would make mine functional again.They refused, without further apology or explanation.I do not recommend this product (or any Bodum product, due to the poor service they provided).

Now that I cannot use my Chocolatiere, I tried what another reviewer recommended -- a whisk.It works just as well, at a fraction of the cost (and much less to clean).Just microwave the milk in a Pyrex measuring cup with spout, whisk in the cocoa powder and sugar, and pour into a drinking mug!Wish I had thought of that before I shelled out $30.
