(More customer reviews)I did a lot of
research on a pool cleaner and bought this. It was a big mistake.
You have to have the pressure on the intake just the perfect amount
for the temperature of the pool to get it to work. With filters and
pool lines, they are never the same pressure so it quits working.
It gets caught in corners and on stairs. Also the hoses get "memory"
twisted.I look out my back window constantly seeing my expensive
Barracuda just sitting there while the neighbors have a beautiful
pool with a cheaper cleaner just making laps around their pool.

(More customer reviews)The Freakn' Bagless
Hoover Windtunnel:
1.There are two filters that need to be changed every 6-12 months
(yah, right...more like every three months) and they cost oh,
between $38-$50 depending on where you can find them...Wal-Mart?
No, they don't carry this type...Target? If you are really
lucky.Sears carries them, for about $49.00 a pop...and that is just
one filter...you need 2.
2.You can't empty these puppies in the house because you have to
tap (more like beat) the filter on the side of the garbage can and
dust goes EVERYWHERE, YUCK!So, what do you do?You take it outside
to beat it in the garbage can, then with the smallest gust of wind
you are covered, COVERED, I'm talking an abominable brown snowman,
with dust and dead spiders and anything else you sucked up thinking
it was gone forever.
3.The screen...yes, not only the filter needs to be cleaned after
EVERY...and I mean with EVERY use..there is this fancy little
screen that you have to pull up and pick the caked on "microdust"
off of and what do you use to do that????Well, if you are on the
ball (which I rarely am) you remembered your small wire brush...but
if you didn't you can't really run back in the house holding this
nasty dirty thing flinging yuck all over your house...so, you use
your finger nail, yes, desperate times call for desperate
measures.
4.It burns through belts...twice a year at least (they either break
or stretch) not a huge expense, but a lame and time consuming
one.
5.It looses suction, bad, after about 10-15 minutes of vacuuming,
and then you have to do the whole filter cleaning all over
again.
6.The attachment hose pops out ALL THE TIME.SO, you either learn to
vacuum holding the hose down and in...or (more probably) you get it
in there really good and pray it doesn't come out and resolute to
never touch it again.
7.BOTTOM LINE:I have had this Windtunnel for about 2 years, I was
not impressed the first time I used it...furious the first time I
had to empty it...but I thought, well, maybe it will grow on
me....Um, No.I actually stopped vacuuming, I hated it, I hated the
waste of time for practically no reward, I hated the dust
everywhere, I hated the expense, don't waste your time, money and
sanity.
8.Okay, with all that said, I purchased a sweet little vacuum from
Wal-mart a few months ago, and I have been waiting to find
something wrong with it to pop up but I has not been disappointing
yet.I have gone through 1 bag, (I vacuum almost everyday with 2
toddlers), but the bags are really compact I was surprised how much
they hold. The light went off to change the bag and it took a whole,
oh, 30 seconds for the whole process, the dirt was gone, in the
garbage, just like that. And the suction is amazing.Go get this
vacuum, today.Do not waist anymore brain cells on a bagless. !!!GE
12 AMP, 2 motor, home cleaning system!!!It's a canister and sucks
like...well, something that sucks really, really great!Lol, I
actually love to vacuum, really!Plus, the best part...it is only a
little over $100.00 and it has a filter but it comes free with the
bags.Cool. Get this vacuume today...now...go!

vacuum and it has a louder than usual noise, a pitch that hurt my
ears. However, the amount of dust and lint in the canister was
amazing and the "power paw" is great for stairs and furniture and
the duster is really a nice feature. The way it cleans itself is so
cool.Overall, I'd say this is a great vacuum, but he noise and
weight take away a few stars.

(More customer reviews)I recently bought
the Hoover Windtunnel U6436-900 (TurboPower 7600) to replace my old
Hoover Windtunnel U6445-920 (Mach 6.9) which was "giving up the
ghost" after 6 years of flawless service.I could have had the old
vacuum fixed for less than half of what the new one cost, but I
decided to turn back the clock and invest in a new vacuum.
The new U6436 is almost exactly the same as my old Hoover except
that it stores tools on the back of the vacuum and now has room up
front for the power attachment.Hoover Windtunnel is definitely as
loud as ever too. That's because it's actually doing something. It's
amazing how much suction these vacuums have when the bag is
empty.By the time the bag is full, I estimate that suction
decreases by 25%...which is still more than adequate by the
way.
I compared the U6436 side-by-side with the Eureka TheBoss 4870GZ
that my inlaws have. The Hoover beats the Eureka pretty solidly in
power and ease of push thanks to the self propel feature. It really
glides along like it is on iceskates or something...almost
effortless.Since the Hoover costs 33% more, this is to be
expected. The Eureka is quieter, and that's about it.
The product manual that came with the U6436 indicates that it has a
2 year warranty.I've seen conflicting reports on this on various
other sites, but it is definitely 2 years...
A famous consumer magazine ranks this vacuum near the top, and I
agree.I have owned Hoover Windtunnel for quite awhile now, and they
are reliable and do a great job.The bags are cheap too, usually
around $7-$8 for 3 of them.
In short, I highly recommend this vacuum.

Hoover U6436-900 TurboPower Self-Propelled
WindTunnel Bagged Upright Vacuum Cleaner
Product Description:
Equipped with a powerful 12 amp motor, this self-propelled bagged
upright vacuum cleaner delivers exceptional performance and
virtually effortless cleaning in both forward and reverse modes.
The unit's 15-inch-wide cleaning path helps get the job done
quickly, while its patented WindTunnel technology provides a
powerful dual air stream for enhanced dirt pickup and removal. In
addition, dual edge groomers loosen and remove dust, dirt, and lint
that collect along baseboards, and the variable height settings and
on/off brush-roll control allow for switching from bare floors to
carpets with ease. When the handle returns to its upright, locked
position, the brush roll automatically shuts off and the unit
directs all its power to tool suction. On-board tools include a
crevice tool, an upholstery nozzle, a dusting brush, and two
extension wands. Its deluxe stretch hose extends up to 11-feet when
using both wands and the crevice tool. Even more, its on-board
powered hand tool works great for vacuuming upholstered furniture,
carpeted stairs, and hard-to-reach places. The unit also comes with
allergen filtration that captures 100-percent of dust mites and
99.98-percent of ragweed and common grass pollens. Other highlights
include a textured handle grip, fingertip "on/off" control, a
full-width headlight to illuminate dark corners, a non-marking
furniture guard, a check-bag indicator, a 31-foot power cord with
quick-cord release, and a carrying handle for easy transport. The
vacuum cleaner measures 13 by 15 by 43 inches and carries a
two-year parts-and-labor warranty.

(More customer reviews)I was originally
only looking at robots that could climb walls. I settled on a
dolphin but when I learned that the pool place would have to order
it I decided to keep shopping (I was looking for instant pool
gratification). The person at another pool place recommended the
nitro.
I wasn't all that price sensitive and told him I just wanted
something that worked well. He had an $1100 Dolphin climber in
stock (same one the first place tried to order for me) and also the
nitro. He told me that the nitro was hands down superior which I
found interesting because he was recommending the cheaper of his
products.
The main issue is that the nitro doesn't climb but realistically it
takes about 60 seconds to brush the sides of the pool so that it
all falls to the bottom. This didn't turn out to be as much of an
issue as I thought.
The carrier was a bit of a pain to put together (the parts aren't
interchangeable so make sure you have things set up right before
putting the caps on the axle).
As far as the actual robot (as opposed to its cart) there is no
assembly. You just plug it in (while off) and throw it in the pool.
I have a 9ft deep pool badly in need of a cleaning. It is so murky
that you can't actually see the bottom yet.
The nitro gathered a tightly packed bad of sludge on its first 2hr
run. I figured out how to clean it without reading the
instructions. On run two it got about half as much stuff as run one
(not surprising since I was scrubbing and filtering during run one.
I'm currently on run three. It moves slowly enough that it doesn't
disturb the bottom all that much and does a far better job than I
would have patience to do. It is great to be able to filter/skim
and vaccum as the same time. I'd definitely recommend this product.
It works great and for $600 was almost half the cost of the dolphin
climber which I'm now glad I didn't buy.

(More customer reviews)Well that's what I
thought too.I thought my husband was nuts (or just trying to be
cheap) when he told me about this vac. I really wanted the Dyson
Animal. I have to say... I am very glad I listened to him and
checked it out.
I spent the day yesterday shampooing and vacuuming my 1600 SF
house.Today I decided I needed to replace my previous vac, because
I am sick of taking the screwdriver out and taking it apart to
remove the clogs. So I went out shopping and came home with this
unit.
I have re-done my whole house and I was shocked at how much this
thing picked up.It almost made me blush, because I thought my house
was clean!!It proved me wrong!I have 2 chihuahuas and 2 love birds
to clean up after (Oh yeah, and a husband!)
I love this vac, and for half the price of the Dyson that I have
been wanting FOREVER, I say get this and go get yourself something
really nice with the extra money that is left.

(More customer reviews)I purchased my
Dolphin Diagnostic four years ago at our local Leslie's. I had a
Kreepy Krauly which worked fairly well but, since my pool has only
one skimmer inlet, the surface wouldn't get adequately skimmed when
the KK was being used (even with the KK skimmer plate which allowed
for some skimming while vacuuming). While we don't have many trees
in West Texas, any that are shed seem to end up in my pool ;-)
I have been completely satisfied with the Dolphin. In the four
years I have owned it I have needed only two repairs -- the first
about 2 years ago was done under warranty and required sending the
Dolphin to a repair station. This winter my Dolphin stopped moving
and I tracked (pun intended) the problem to a worn drive track. I
was able to fix this myself after ordering the correct parts.
While not having many trees, West Texas does have a lot of dust and
wind. Prior to the Dolphin it was a battle to keep the pool clean
but now it remains sparkling. I don't know why the previous two
reviewers have had such problems, but mine covers the entire pool
without difficulty. You do need to pay attention to the flow in the
pool since that can affect the Dolphin's cleaning pattern. I tend
to run it at least every other day throughout the year since we
don't close our pool for the winter.
I've noticed two fringe benefits to the Dolphin. First, the
agitation from the upward stream from the pump (especially when it
is at the top of its climb of a wall) helps move surface debris and
the skimmer is more effective. Second, since the collection bag
microfilters the water, I only have to backwash my filter about one
tenth as often as previously. This saves time, work, water, and
chemicals.
Four years ago I paid about $850 for the Dolphin. This is my 5th
season of use. Amortized at less than $200 per year this has been a
great investment for me. My only regret is not having spent the
extra money for the model with remote control. Sometimes there is
an area - usually at the shallow end - that I want to clean
first.
O.K., you do have to clean the bag but that is not much of a chore.
I just dump the debris in the trash and then spray the bag with a
hose to remove the dirt. Actually, there are disposable bags
available and I did purchase some to use in the winter but they are
rather expensive so I prefer the bag cleaning route.
I have recommended the Dolphin to friends and I would buy
another.

(More customer reviews)Works ok.A little
pricey for what you get, but it does the job. Use a fresh cartridge
to get maximum flow, and be sure to let all the air out of the hose
before plugging in. The filter (bottom valve to remove airpockets
from hose, top to remove air in the filter chamber). The part that
fits into the strainer gets stopped up with Six leaves and the
little vacuum bag needs to be emptied. I have to move more SLOWY
than I would like to get it all. It is worth the time to collect
all the leaves before starting. If you can see the stuff on the
bottom, there is more of it then there should be! I had to change
filters after the first go it was worse then I imagened. the flow
through the old dirty filter was almost stopped.
Dont leave the hose in the pool, it will take you under! Definitely
a hazard for little ones.

(More customer reviews)We'd had a
Haywaward Pool Vac for many years, but the constant replacing of
parts was costing us over $100 a year.
The Baracuda cleans okay, but it is not as good as the Hayward was
since it does not seem to hit all areas of the pool. A relative has
the same Baracuda cleaner and the same problem, so it is not
something with our setup or pool, it is a cleaner fault. Again,
though, the cleaning is okay with the Baracuda - it is better than
nothing.
The real fault in the Baracuda G3 (and presumably G4) is that the
cleaner gets stuck on the main drain if the main drain is an anti
vortex raised drain. Rounded main drain covers are available for
purchase (at about $60 each) to help the cleaner go over the main
drain, but many people have had problems with those products
staying down over the drain. When I called Baracuda for help, they
admitted they were aware of this issue. They said it was due to my
'non standard' pool design, but my 'non standard' pool design is
soon to be required by building code, so Baracuda should get their
act together and come up with a solution.
Also annoying is the fact that Baracuda is aware that they have
issues with certain drain covers, but NO WHERE in their literature
did they say that. In other words, let the people buy it and then
find out it does not work right in their pool.
Because it gets stuck randomly, and I do not babysit my pool
cleaner, the return period had passed by the time I realized the
problem. Baracuda would not help, so I am stuck with a cleaner that
does not work according to Baracuda's advertising. The cleaner is
still under warranty, but they say it works as designed, so they
won't help.
We did our homework about this pool cleaner before purchase, but
this problem was not publicized anywhere. So, to others, if you
have or plan on getting raised, anti vortex, main drains (and you
should, for safety reasons), AVOID the Baracuda G3 and G4
cleaners.
Note that our previous Hayward Pool Vac, in our same alleged 'non
standard' pool, never had this problem. I guess the extra money in
maintenance is worth it for a product that does not need
babysitting.
Even if you don't have that type of drain, I'd avoid Baracuda
products just due to poor customer service.

(More customer reviews)We moved to a
three-story townhouse, and it quickly became clear that my loud,
clumsy old Hoover upright was not going to work out in our new
home. I nearly went deaf trying to vacuum the stairs, and trying to
keep an upright balanced on the steps was an exercise in
futility.
So I was convinced that a canister vac was the way to go. This is
the second one I tried and the one I decided to keep.
Suction is very good. I'm sure it could be stronger, but given the
light weight and the quiet operation, I'm very happy with its
ability to clean. In a tradeoff between outright suction and
weight, I'm happy to err in favor of a lighter unit, especially
with three stories to clean.
The power brush attachment is great on low-to-medium height pile
and works better than I'd expected on hardwood floors. A switch to
turn the brushroll on and off is right on the handle, which is a
must in my book. Crevice, upholstery, and dusting brush attachments
are included and fit nicely onboard. They're useful, if a little
small.
On the downside, the other reviewers are spot-on with the
complaints about the hose length. It could certainly be longer, and
though it has a telescoping wand, it's not enough to reach that far
overhead.
In addition, I think it would've been more convenient had they put
suction strength and on/off controls on the handle, as is the case
with the competing Electrolux Oxygen3 that I tried.
I do wish it were priced lower, but after spending many weekends
trying out the available alternatives at brick-and-mortar stores, I
just couldn't find anything that had the Bosch's virtues with a
comparable price. If your priority is having a quiet, compact, and
lightweight vacuum with excellent suction and all the essential
cleaning tools, it's probably worth the premium.

clear the whole time. We just opened the pool up for the year and
to our dismay the pool was cloudy and had a layer of white scum on
the bottom. THE AQUABOT's instructions were very easy to understand
and to follow . We did have to clean the filter frequently for the
first few days but I have never seen our pool looking so clear or
clean as it looks right now. We had to pour some cement close to
the pool and accidentlly got some in the pool ,no problem for the
aquabot. We bought another cleaner when we bought the pool and paid
almost as much,I wish now we had bought the aquabot instead. As the

(More customer reviews)I live in Miami and
I purchased the Blue Pearl about 6 months ago for my in-ground 15 X
30 gunite pool. I use it one to two times a week. I was
apprehensive about spending this much money for a pool cleaner,
especially when I couldn't find any kind of consistent positive
reviews for robotic cleaners in general.
But, even though my pool looks perfect, it is old and plumbing for
it has always been marginal. Which makes vacuuming slow with not
enough suction to run a typical automatic pool cleaner. So I was
forced to consider a more expensive robotic cleaner.
Overall, I have been very happy with my decision to purchase the
Blue Pearl. I have gotten plenty of use out of it without any
problems and it does a really great job of cleaning if you use it
regularly. It has never hung up on the ladder or the steps. It goes
to the surface and turns around and goes back down the wall. It
will clean my pool in about 1.5-2.0 hours but will shut itself off
after 3 hours. To minimize wear and tear, if I am around, I will
turn it off when the pool is clean. You are then supposed to let it
set for at least 10 minutes to let the motor cool before removing
the cleaner. You are also not supposed to leave the cleaner in the
pool indefinitly I guess to prevent water getting past the motor
seals. The only hassle is cleaning the filter bag which takes about
5 minutes but is still much less than the time to clean the pool
your self.
I am sure it is made by the same people that make Aquabot (the
warranty address is the same) and most of the components if you
look at parts schematics are identical.
I wasn't impressed with quality control however. When I first put
my Blue Pearl in the pool, it simply didn't move. I took it out and
found that the drive belt and one of the gears wasn't installed
correctly. I took it apart, it was a bit of a hassle but easier
than returning it, and reassembled it correctly. It then worked
perfectly, much to my relief. Still, it shows that company does not
test run their products after assembly.
For the average home owner, I see no reason to spend more for some
of the other fancier robotic cleaners. This one works great and I
would have to say, I would get the Blue Pearl again. Check around
as prices vary widely.
