(More customer reviews)Coffee makers in
our house usually last 5 years before they have to be replaced.
Last year we shopped around and decided the Mr. Coffee Black and
Stainless Steel 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker had the most bang
for the buck.We have never owned a Mr. Coffee until now.We loved it
until recently it started to act up, and of course the 1 year
warranty just ran out a month ago.So we are shopping around for a
new coffee maker, it won't be a Mr. Coffee.

(More customer reviews)We have been on a
journey to find a great, stylish and functional counter depth
refrigerator. We are replacing a perfectly fine Kitchen Aid side by
side that we put in a second home. First, we chose a Samsung side
by side, but were not satisfied with it's refrigerator temperature.
We set it at 34, but it never seemed cold enough. Milk was never
"ice cold" as we were accustomed to. We started monitoring the
temperatures, and it was typically around 38-43 degrees. Samsung
was unable to remedy this issue, even after sending out a new
replacement. Then we chose a GE Profile model, but it was a similar
scenario, with wide temperature swings between the setting of 34,
and 44 degrees, so a return of the GE was in order after service
was unable to remedy it's large temperature swings.
Now, onto the Electrolux. This was a favorite from the start when
we were shopping, but we were scared off by some reviews. We
decided to go for it anyway, and are pleased with that decision, so
far. However, the first one delivered did not cool at all. A
service tech was dispatched immediately, and he found that there
was a broken line from the compressor, due to damage in shipping,
no fault of the unit, and all the refrigerant had escaped. The
dealer brought the GE back until another Electrolux could be
ordered and delivered.
Upon recieving the second Electrolux, it is performing nicely.
Internal temperature is as stated on the Wave Touch Panel at 34 and
-4 degrees for the freezer (which, by the way, you can set to show
the refrigerator and freezer temps at all times). The units
appearance is of good quality, being stainless steel on all sides,
sturdy handles, and a modern appearance with Wave Touch Controls,
which are easy to use. The doors are simple to align or adjust if
needed.
The interior of this unit is 22.6 cu/ft, so as counter depth goes,
it is decent. With edgeless glass shelves, ball bearing glides on
all drawers, a large temperature controlled drawer with digital
programmed settings, 2 good sized slide out bins, and exceptionaly
well done LED lighting, this unit's interior is impressive.
We especially like the temperature controlled drawer, which can be
adjusted from 28 to 40+ degrees. The drawer is large enough for
party platters, and can keep fresh meats at near freezing, or beer
can be kept at a very nice 28 degrees, or wines at a favorite
selected temperature. The ice maker does take up a fair amount of
space, but for ice and water in the door, it is a worth while
sacrifice.
The icemaker has had some negative reviews, but so far ours is
fine. The cubes are rounded, with a divit. I'm not sure why this is
considered "Drink Friendly", but they are nice. One issue is that
the cubes seem to come out with some vengence. However, by simply
putting your glass or ice bucket close to the dispensing
chute...problem solved. We have seen no melted ice puddles in the
catch basin. Water dispensing is simple, and functional. We have
only had this unit for a few days, so I can't comment on ice
production quantity, but it is supposed to be better than most, per
Electrolux specifications.
The freezer has 2 deep slide out bins, and 1 shallow one, with
dividers and smooth ball bearing slides. One of our wire dividers
does not stay in place, but that is no big issue at all. Space is
good, and well utilized. Lighting in the freezer is excellent.
If I listen closely, I can hear the unit running, but sound is not
obtrusive or noticably louder than any of the other units we have
had recently. I would say it is quiet.
Pros: Operates at accurate temperatures set, huge slide out
temperature controlled drawer, Exceptionally well done LED lighting
and appearance, Wave Touch Controlls, functional use of space.
Looks and feels high quality. We finally have really cold milk
again.
Cons: High end of price scale, Ice maker takes up some refrigerator
space, and some door storage.

(More customer reviews)We were generally
happy with the Cuisinart DCC-100-- while it lasted. A few months
ago it started working intermittently. It wouldn't always brew the
coffee. Finally it stopped working altogether. The hot plate was
not very warm, and it looked as though the problem might be the
thermostat. So we took the coffeemaker apart. There appear to be
two coils--a high power unit for brewing the coffee, and a lower
power coil for keeping it warm. A thermostat in a round white
ceramic package monitors the temperature. It was open, even at room
temperature, so the high power coil never went on. Took it apart.
Found a very brittle plastic ring, and very corroded contacts.
Opinion-- the thermostat is of poor quality. The contact materials
appear to be of poor quality, very pitted, unable to sustain
extended use. The brown plastic ring that actuates the contacts
appears to be made of a material that cannot sustain the heat. This
is based on a sample of just one unit, but my recommendation is to
stay clear of this unit unless/until Cuisanart finds a new
thermostat vendor and publicizes that action.

(More customer reviews)It's surprising to
find true innovation in such an affordable product. I was concerned
that having extra features on a coffee maker would be annoying or
cumbersome but, this coffee maker is very easy to program or just
use. The 1-4 cup feature and the extra flavor feature seemed like
fluff to me, but I find myself enjoying them too.The design team
should be rewarded for comming up with the dual purpose container,
it's such an easy way to fill the resevoir while also keeping the
coffee hot and fresh.
Every morning I start the day with a gooood cup of fresh coffee, no
mess, no fuss. I like it!

Coffeemaker
Product Description:
Housed in black with stainless-steel accents, this innovative
coffeemaker offers more than just good looks. The countertop
appliance brews up to 12 cups of great-tasting coffee at a time,
but without the carafe normally associated with coffeemakers.
Instead, the unit features an enclosed brewing system and gentle
keep-warm heater that keeps brewed coffee hot, fresh, and flavorful
for hours. The result: coffee never tastes scorched because there's
no carafe or hot plate to alter the flavor of brewed coffee. Simply
brew up to 12 cups of coffee like normal using any favorite ground
coffee, then engage its convenient one-handed dispensing function
with a regular mug or tall travel mug to fill--one cup at a
time--with hot, delicious coffee. The unit's large easy-to-read
backlit digital clock makes it effortless to program the unit for
brewing at a later time--perfect for wake-up coffee or to have
coffee ready to serve with dessert without having to get up from
the table half way through dinner. It will also shut off
automatically after two hours for safety and peace of mind. The
coffeemaker measures approximately 8 by 6 by 17 inches and carries

this coffee machine as a gift. This modern looking coffee maker is
self contained and includes every element needed for its use
(filters, spoons and a measure). The 12-cup glass carafe has an
innovative locking lid that preserves the coffee's aroma and
flavor. I love the way it looks in the kitchen, like a small
sculpure!I am happy with the quality as well and cannot report any
problems.I noticed a negative rating by another person who probably
purchased a refurbished copy. That's why I encourage to purchase
this item brand new through Amazon's museumofmoderndesign.I look
forward to adding the Jasper Morrison toaster to my collection as
well.

(More customer reviews)While it looks very
nice and is easy to use, after about 6 weeks of use our coffee pot
has had multiple malfunctions. The water continuously flows so we
have to shut it off at the valve to keep it from over flowing, it
does not stay hot for long and it only brews 1/4 - 1/2 pot at a
time no matter what setting it is on. The company was quick to send
us replacement parts to try to fix the problems but it has been
unsuccessful. They have told us we could send it in and they will
look at it but we will have to pay to have it repaired.Basically,
they told us that it is more than likely caused from our hard water
and so they will not warranty it. Their customer service guy even
said that they have seen them malfunction in less time than that
with $5000 filters. This tells me a great deal about the product
and it came straight from thsir own customer service. After several
agruments with excuse after excuse as to why our pot only lasted 6
weeks, they DID offer to sell us a new one for only $150. Hmmm...I
JUST spent $400 on one that lasted me all of 6 weeks...I think I'll
invest in another Bunn. Not only does it brew FABULOUS coffee but
they are reliable, they are not NEARLY as sensitive to the hard
water, AND they stand behind their product 100%. We pulled out our
old reliable Bunn that we have had for about 8 years to use while
we waited for parts for our Brew Express and the flavor of the
coffee is by far better with the Bunn. We hadn't realized just how
bad the coffee tasted before. Yep, that settles it, my final word
is...BUY A BUNN. It will be money well spent.

(More customer reviews)I read reviews of
multiple automatic expresso machines (deLonghi, Saeco, Gaggia, etc)
and was concerned that most brands tend to have some negative
reviews of their selected expresso machine breaking down after some
time. Since there was no single review that reports on the
reliability of these machines, I decided to take my chance with
this expresso machine.
The manual of this expresso maker lacks sufficient instructions.
Mine came with the new series Intenza water filter. The instruction,
with the new water filter, instructs that the existing small white
filter needs to be removed and does not provide instructions on its
removal. It is only upon calling Saeco customer service that I
understood how the small white filter can be removed. And when
necessary, I sometimes called Seattle Coffee Gear, whom I
originally bought mine from, who has excellent product expertise
and customer service.
Most automatic expresso machines come with plastic parts from in to
out. So this machine stands out in that the main body is still made
from steel.
This product comes with an inbuilt grinder, with small to coarse
grinder settings, and thus making it super-handy (fully
automatic!).
I used this machine to brew some Blue Mountain coffee. It came out
so rich in aroma and taste. Previously I was using some traditional
filter to brew this coffee and was not able to discern the aroma
and taste of this Blue Mountain coffee.
And the frother is able to froth the milk with a consistent quality
as well. And it comes with the option of hot water as well.
I bought this during Jan 2010, so I can't comment on the
reliability as yet. So far I cleaned this up after each use. In
case, this machine starts breaking down, I will update my review so
that future buyers can be fore-warned.1.5 mths later:
Upon power on, the 2 top & 1 bottom leftmost LEDs started
flashing. I referred to the manual and it indicated loading and to
wait. After waiting 10 mins and resetting the machine, I still
observed the same phenomenon. After some tests, I found that it
needed priming. So far this has happened twice in the last 2 weeks
and priming solves the problem. Saeco USA needs to improve on their
manual instructions !!!

(More customer reviews)I love this
refrigerator. I have owned it for a year and a half (with no
problems). Below is my opinion based on each feature:
1. French Doors. I love them. THe left door has a flap that sort of
flattens out as you close the door to seal against the right
door.Because of the little flap, the right crisper drawer does not
pull all the way out if the left door is closed. Alternatively, you
CAN keep the right door closed and pull the left crisper drawer all
the way out. Anyhow I usually end up opening both doors when i go
to the fridge, so it will take 2 hands, but i still love the french
door look.
2. Inside water dispenser. Love that too. THe only bad design is
the button to get the water is a few inches above the actual
dispenser. it is difficult for me to get a glass of water with one
hand; i usually hold the glass with one hand and press the button
with the other. But i do like this design much better than the
'outside of the door' water dispenser; i think this fridge has a
cleaner look. I didn't even notice the inside water dispenser at
first, it takes up VERY LITTLE room which is great!
3. Drawer freezer. I like it enough for what I have (bachelorette
food like hot pockets and lean cuisines). I expected it to hold a
bit more than it really does. I do like the fact that it's wire
baskets that hold my food rather than a solid surface; sorta
eliminates cleaning.THe reason i don't TOTALLY love this freezer is
simply because if I had a bowl of liquid, i would have to be VERY
CAREFUL to freeze it (such as an extra water bowl for my dog).
Anything you want to be in the freezer will need to move/slide to
get it in there - i have to only fill the bowl 1/2 full of water or
else it will spill when i close the freezer door.
4. Adjustable "no spill" shelves. These are great. Everything is
adjustable which is perfect for me. I adjust them quite a bit
actually. Also there is a small lip on each shelf so if something
leaks, it won't drip down the back wall of the fridge. I like this
idea. Also the shelves pull out a few inches in case you have
something in the back you need to reach.
Overall this is a great fridge. It also beeps after a few minutes
if you accidently don't close a door all the way. Temperature of
both the fridge and freezer are displayed at the top inside of the
fridge. Very easy/intiutive to adjust. Those small flaws listed
above are very easy for me to live with; i would buy this
refrigerator again. And, i love the stainless steel look!

(More customer reviews)This is my first
self-propelled mower. I'm coming from a basic, no-frills machine
that I bought some years ago when I just wanted something cheap
that would do the job.
I bought this mower at the local Depot, cheaper than the advertised
price here even after tax was added. I brought it home and unpacked
it.Setup was done in just a couple of minutes -- unlike my previous
mower, this one is almost entirely assembled in the box. All you
need to do is put the handle on and attach the blade clutch lever
to it.No tools required.
Next, add the fluids. The mower comes with the right amount of
30-weight oil. Then fill up the gas tank, and you're off.
The mower has an engine kill switch like you'd find on a
motorcycle. Switch to "I" (Ignition). Pull the starter cord.Mine
fired up on the first pull! The engine runs smoothly (and much
quieter than my old mower). You don't need to have the safety bar
pulled in at this point -- the engine will run, but the blades will
not spin.
Pull the safety bar in and the blades start spinning. Release it
and they stop, but the engine keeps running. Kill the engine by
flipping the ignition switch to OFF.
That's cool. With my old mower, every time I let go of the safety
bar it killed the engine and I would have to pull the starter cord
again to get it going.
The propulsion is really nice. The upper section of the grip is
spring-loaded and slides up and down the vertical handlebar rods
slightly. The more pressure you apply to the handlebar, the faster
the mower will want to move.Release the bar, and the mower stops
moving. There is another, secondary handlebar underneath that can
be used to circumvent the propulsion entirely, if desired.
There is also a large lever that allows you to change between
mulching and bagging. This can be done at any time. With the bag
attached, pulling the lever to the rear will start bagging, while
pushing the lever forwardwill close off the opening to the bag and
start mulching instead. The mower also comes with the side discharge
attachment, which installs easily and is very effective.
When you're done mowing, there is a port on the side that accepts a
standard garden hose. Attach a hose to the mower and turn it
on.Then start the mower and start the blades spinning. It does a
really good job of cleaning out the mower for you. When the water
coming out starts to run clear, just shut off the hose and let the
blades keep spinning for another few seconds until the mower is
dry.You will still need to clean out some of it, though, like the
bag port, which the hose doesn't reach.
The Briggs & Stratton engine seems strong, easily handling
whatever horrible things I threw at it (with a caveat, explained
below). Propulsion was also strong, and even going up a steep
incline behind my house required only about 5% of the effort
required with my previous mower. The overall build quality is
excellent, and it's a real looker to boot.
There are a couple of minor quibbles, but nothing significant
enough to merit the loss of a star. I'm not a huge fan of the white
wheels, which were already turning green after the first mow. And
the wheels themselves don't turn as freely as those on my old
mower. Presumably this is because of the propulsion mechanism, so I
guess that could be the case with any self-propelled mower. And
finally, when in mulching mode, the mower seems to stall more
frequently than my old mower when it hits the hard stuff. I live in
Florida, and it rains a lot in the summer.Sun + lots of water =
grass that's sometimes a foot high in a week. So if the grass gets
too long in between mows, this mower will sometimes stall because
there's way too much material to mash around. However, switching to
side discharge or bagging solves the problem immediately, and the
mower will cut ANYTHING.

(More customer reviews)I do have the
previous model, what is the same thing but a different "box" I did
have it 2 day before Katrina and here in Hollywood we did have-it
Purdy good.Well of course I did not have a perfect installation but
everything got hock-up in less the 8 hours. This kit is perfect. The
automatic switch box makes the generator kick-in in 30 seconds from
a power outage, and switch back-in by itself.I did select this unit
because I have an AC who draw 13 amps a 230 1 ph. and all the
light, PCs, Tv and small thing draw no more than 2 Amps a 115v.No
hot water or oven. And I can't have the cafe going with the toaster
Oh well I can have-it all because I'm cheap...
I didn't want to be independent from the gas company, and then I
did install a liquid propane system. When Wilma past-by I did run
the unit almost 24 hrs a day and I did consume about 75 to 100# of
LP a day what is expensive but cheaper then gas and you can
store-it for a long theme. Also Propane can be find faster than gas,
because gas station need electricity...
For the noise level, I didn't have any complaints from Nabors or if
I'm in one room away I can barely hear-it.The control is very
simple.Spot the breaker you want to be cover, disconnect-it and
connect the wires to the new circuit. It's that easy.
The only thing you will need is a battery, oil, a base to install
it, gas line (1" pipe minimum) and regulator. The unit is complete
by itself, easy to install, be careful it's 800#, a bit heavy for
one guy... Read the book it's short and simple, the set-up takes a
minute, the governor is a bit tutchy to adjust especially when
there a full load starts. For the maintenance, I change the oil, oil
filter and the air filter one a year keep an eye on the gas and
that-it.Notice the unit cover is painted with a good quality cook
enamels, I have it expose to the sun and rain, after 3 years it
look like new still.
To be on a safe side have an electrician doing the electric system
and the gas Co. to do the line work. And for not a arm and a leg you
will be sleeping with peace and comfort.
PS Sorry for my french, I'm a handy man more then a writer...

(More customer reviews)The Ultra portable
pool 18' X 52" was very easy to setup and begin to enjoy
immediately for the entire family. Please make sure you take the
time to make sure the ground you place the pool is ABSOLUTE LEVEL
as indicated in the manul; HINT - use a laser leveler(Costco or
Sam's)it's worth the investment. If you have any questions about he
pool you can call Intex from Monday to Friday, give it a little
time, but you will reach a live customer/product person to answer
all your questions. Out the box you can tell the product/all the
parts are made from first class materials and workmanship. If you
can go for the Intex 2500 GPH water pump, and the
Chlorinator(it REALLY does work - GREAT)make the purchase,it makes
a world of a difference. Please be careful about the chlorinator
try and find POOL salt, ask around, but try and not go for regular
salt, the pool salt seems to be the best. P.S. - the Intex pool
night light is awesome, it maybe a little expensive after you add
on the other items, but it does make the pool look beatiful at
nigth, and give you more time to enjoy uor your. Overall as a
person with a family and no money to waste, this pool and it's
products are well worth the INVESTMENT - ENJOY

(More customer reviews)The price the
Proctor Silex is great and it works great. The programable feature
is something that isn't usually found on coffee makers "for this
price" and a must have.
The carafe pours nicely and fits in the machine easily. The filter
holder has a nice handle that makes it easy to remove.
After going through 2 bad coffee makers (Pillsbury and Black &
Decker) I was going to shell out the money for a Bunn. Then I
thought I could buy 5 Proctor Silex makers for the price of one
Bunn.It was a good choice.

(More customer reviews)Where to begin?
This machine can do it all, from a strong shot of espresso to a
flawless cappuccino, all in under minute. If you can tie your
shoes, you can use one of these machines.
I looked in to this machine after using an older Capresso model at
a friend's house. I was always impressed by how easily and quickly
he could make a variety of drinks for guests, not to mention the
quality of their appearance and flavor.
This machine comes with two different frothing systems, one is a
more traditional bullet style frother, while the other can
automatically steam or froth milk. This is where the J5 really
shines. In no time you can froth yourself milk that would make the
most seasoned barista jealous, and then push a single button to
instantly brew piping hot coffee.
The machine starts with whole beans of your choosing and grinds
them just for the drink you are making. This ensures that you'll
get the freshest tasting coffee cup after cup.
What I like most about this machine though is the variety of drinks
it can make. If you have a guest over who isn't a big coffee
drinker you can use the machine to make instant hot water for tea,
or my favorite trick: run chocolate milk through the steamer for
instant hot chocolate. Of course for the rest of us, the pressure
brewing system in this machine will allow you to say goodbye to
expensive coffee drinks, and become your own favorite barista.

about:
Jura-Capresso 13333 Impressa J5 Automatic Coffee and
Espresso Center, Piano White
Product Description:
Equipped with an 18-bar pump and 1450-watt stainless-steel-lined
thermoblock heating system, this automatic coffee and espresso
center can produce cup after cup of coffee with no down time in
between. The machine's unique two-step pre-infusion cycle ensures
every brew delivers optimal flavor extraction and a creamy crema
layer. In the first stage, freshly ground coffee gets compressed,
then injected with a small burst of hot water, causing the moist
grounds to expand. In the second stage, brewing water courses
through the engorged coffee grounds.
This user-friendly appliance combines not only powerful
performance, but also a simple, elegant design with easy-to-use
controls. Its front panel offers six buttons in the shape of a
ring: two buttons for espresso (single and double), two for coffee
(single and double), one for hot water, and one for steam. All of
these functions are individually programmable. For example, the
strength, temperature, and size of each of the coffee buttons can
be set, as can the amount of water delivered in a hot water cycle,
and the amount of time a steam cycle lasts. The 10-digit
alpha-numeric LCD display clearly communicates all functions and
settings in any one of five languages. The top of the unit provides
three more controls: two buttons (one for power, the other for
maintenance) and an illuminated rotary control dial for overriding
any settings for coffee and steam. Choose from 11 programming
options by pushing the integrated rotary button.
The coffee and espresso center also showcases several other
innovative features. Its new ceramic-valve technology shortens the
flow of coffee, resulting in a hotter temperature and more crema in
the cup. The machine's three hot-water temperature settings produce
a hotter Cafe Americano, pre-warm coffee cups faster, and
accommodate a larger variety of tea preparation. It also provides a
dual, butterfly, coffee-spout design that moves up/down and in/out
to accommodate a larger range of cups.
Other highlights include a commercial-grade, solid-steel conical
burr grinder with six fineness settings and low-noise operation; a
9-ounce bean container with aroma cover and low-level bean
indicator; a self-adjusting brewing chamber, which holds from 5 to
16 grams of ground coffee to make up to two 8-ounce cups of coffee
at a time; a sensor-activated pre-ground coffee funnel; a
clock/timer with programmable auto-on and auto-off capabilities;
and a 71-ounce removable water container with a Clearyl
water-filtration system and low-water indicator. Even more, the
machine provides two interchangeable frother systems, which include
a Dual Frother Plus for manual operation and a frothXpress for
automatic frothing and steaming. A concealed compartment neatly
stores the measuring scoop and the Dual Frother Plus attachment.
The coffee and espresso center measures 16-1/2 by 11 by 13-1/4
inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

(More customer reviews)With so many things
to maintain for a pool already, the last thing I want to do is to
maintain an automatic pool cleaner. If I have to replace belts,
tracks, booster pumps, and so on, then I might as well spend that
time with an old fashioned pole vacuum instead. Before I bought this
T-Jet I had a tough time deciding between the Polaris series,
T-Jet, and the Turbo T2 model.
I ended up buying the T-Jet because of the simplicity with so few
moving parts that can break.I'm happy with the decision. The T-Jet
cleans the pool crystal clear. But to get the best performance,
first I had to make some adjustments to the setup out of the box.So
here are some tips.
The settings on the T-Jet when it first arrives are for impressing
you with the speed in which the water jets propel it across the
pool - to maximize the water flow but not maximizing the cleaning
potential. The changes I made were the following: 1. snap on the
intake extender so that the suction port is closer to the pool
surface, 2. slide the internal tab to narrow the intake slightly
for more suction power, and 3. add two of the foam squares to the
inside for more neutral bouyancy.
By increasing the bouyancy with the included foam pieces, the T-Jet
more easily jets up the curve from deep to shallow.I also found
that by increasing the lap time from 30s to 40-60s (max 90s) this
gives it enough time to make the length of the pool (rather than
just the width) before it reverses direction.
I read one review where someone said their T-Jet flipped upside
down sometimes.I don't understand that because what I observed is
that even when I push it around with my hand it wants to stay
upright, and the floating power cord keeps vertical tension on it
to keep it oriented correctly.I think that must have been user
error.
Lately I just drop it in the pool once every few days and let it
run all day long, or overnight.I was surprised how much dirt gets
collected in the fine filter bag because the pool already looked
clean but the filtering is really effective.I can run the main pump
less so the DE filter doesn't have to work as much; I noticed that
the PSI gauge doesn't increase as fast when I use the T-Jet.So it
saves on electricity, since the T-Jet uses a fraction of the
electricity as the main pump.
The only negative I found (and this is pretty minor compared to all
the positives) is that the cord tends to get twisted up if I leave
it in the pool for several days in a row.I have to remove it anyway
to rinse out the filter bag. Then I untwist the cord.
I am happy that I bought this instead of the Turbo T2.I don't think
the track models like the Turbo T2 can do anything better than this
one, at least for my pool.I think those just have more moving parts
to maintain.
Update 1/9/2010: I found out why people report sometimes that it
stops climbing the wall. Those user-replaceable foam buoyancy
squares on the bottom plate soak up water and wear out over
time.Just replace them or add some more, takes 10 minutes. When mine
wouldn't climb the wall as high anymore I inserted some more
styrofoam squares from a shipping box.Now it climbs all the way up
again. With this pool cleaner it is important to maintain the
neutral buoyancy.

(More customer reviews)The good: save
water and electricity
The bad: serious design defect
We bought this LG washer recently to replace our over-10-year-old
washer. We were excited to get this since it looks nice and is
energy efficient. It does what it says: use significantly less water
and wash clothes clean. However, we found a big problem with the
washer. Every time we start the washer, our house water pipes will
shake violently for about one minute. The strong vibration occurs
on pipes some distance from the water tap and is caused by rapid
engaging of the on/off valve of the LG washer as it starts. As we
never saw this kind of vibration with our old washer, we contacted
LG and a technician came over. It appears that this situation is
not unique to us, as the technician had responded to other similar
complaints in the area.Furthermore, we were told older houses
(>10 year) are more likely to have this kind of air hammering
effect. We are concerned that the strong vibration may cause
problems in our house water pipes. Not surprisingly, a google search
of the problem found that other LG users had complained unknown,
repeated leaks in their water pipes, sometimes from behind the
wall. Fearful of the leaks in our water pipes, we installed two air
hammer arrester and that seems to alleviate the problem.I wish that
LG had warned customers of this potentially serious problem.
