when i had my first son i still lived with my mother, so he got nipple confusion cuz my mom would always give him bottles, and we eventually had to start supplementing cuz my milk starting drying up because of it.
well anyways i am now having another baby and out of my parents house but he is due in 4 weeks and i have mostly everything ready. so my mom and grandma came over today and was looking at all the baby stuff. she kept asking me how come i didnt have any bottles. i told her i didnt need them cuz i was gonna be breastfeeding. she proceeded to tell me “ok so your just gonna let your baby starve then” WTF!! that just got me mad. and then she called me right now and said she was picking up some things for the baby…..she wanted to know if everything was taken care of and says “ok i got a couple more receiving blankets, some burp cloths, mittens, and what kind of bottles do you want…plastic or glass?”
when is she gonna get it thru her head that i dont need them! i understand she is trying to help, but she is kinda just making me mad. what would you do??

Wow. People are rude. You have made a decision. They need to keep their snarky comments to themselves. Just ignore them. Do your best to ignore them, do what you feel is right for YOU and YOUR baby.

I had the same problem with my first baby. My mother stayed with me for a month, but if I was sleeping, showering, or went to the store to get something, she would feed my baby from a bottle! I wondered why my baby never latched on, why my baby was never interested. My mother sabotaged my efforts. Anyway, it was bad and hurt my feelings pretty deeply. Well, I am pregnant again, and plan on breastfeeding again, but this time, I will not have my mother over. I suggest you just not invite these people over if you feel they are sabotaging your efforts as well.

How to Pick Glasses – Is this bad writing, it’s not mine, it’s an excerpt from A Perfect Day for Bananafish, which has a lot of dialogue. You don’t need to read it all, I just copied and pasted a random amount of the story:

With her little lacquer brush, while the phone was ringing, she went over the nail of her little finger, accentuating the line of the moon. She then replaced the cap on the bottle of lacquer and, standing up, passed her left–the wet–hand back and forth through the air. With her dry hand, she picked up a congested ashtray from the window seat and carried it with her over to the night table, on which the phone stood. She sat down on one of the made-up twin beds and–it was the fifth or sixth ring–picked up the phone.

“Hello,” she said, keeping the fingers of her left hand outstretched and away from her white silk dressing gown, which was all that she was wearing, except mules–her rings were in the bathroom.

“I have your call to New York now, Mrs. Glass,” the operator said.

“Thank you,” said the girl, and made room on the night table for the ashtray.

A woman’s voice came through. “Muriel? Is that you?”

The girl turned the receiver slightly away from her ear. “Yes, Mother. How are you?” she said.

“I’ve been worried to death about you. Why haven’t you phoned? Are you all right?”

I have approx. 200 mixed size candle wicks already tabbed

I have approx. 2 3/4# of palm stearic acid.
(used to stabilize soy wax)

and normally she’ll make up sentences around her

she cried for the rest of the day

I would have her parents schedule a conference with the principal of the school. I think your friend, along with her parents and also the principal should confront that teacher. I think the teacher’s behavior was quite inappropriate and I don’t think it qualifies as being “blown out of proportion”. I find her behavior has “bullish” and not conducive as an educational professional.

He replied to me saying:” He wants to sell the glass, so he can get money to feed himself and his baby sister. But, he did not know where to sell the glass. He needed to buy baby food for his sister. His stepfather was not kind, or nice, and he did not care about them.”
So , he has to take the charge of her baby sister. I asked him , how much you get everyday. He answered, not more then fifty taka. He wants to go to school. Many of his friend are school going. But right now, he even cant dream of it. He becomes friendly with me. He offered me a ice-cream, So, nice to him. Again, he started talking, he wants that his baby sister must go to school. And one day she will take charge of the family. At the same time , he was concerned about their family condition. I asked him, why not you go to free school? He agreed with me but again poverty comes first, how will earn money for the next day? And this is the only reason to took glasses from the busy high way or another risky job. He lost his close friend on a terrible road accident. One day both of them passing in a road, they used a long stick and at the end of the stick a magnet attached, they start walking in the morning and the magnet just grabbed the fallen metal from the road. Both of them p assing the road, one of magnet ditouched from the stick. Magnet is very expensive for them , so his friend want to take the risk and suddenly , a pick up push him from back side. How To Buy Glasses – Alright , well I’m diana & I transferred last year from a private school in another city to my 8th grade middle school . When I first entered , I kept a low profile . My clothing was still somewhat flashy , neon shirts & skinny jeans with my signature pair of shoes . As the year went on , the group of friends would make fun of me behind my back everytime i talked about a guy to everyone , so I ended it . it turns out , many people knew me . I went awhile without friends ,then turned to the 2nd lowest group on the scale of popularity within reason. I made some good friends & a lot of popular people started teasing me & saying terrible things behind my back. It was the final semester when I got up and started standing up for myself , which landed in summer-online teasing. Now, I’m going into freshman year without my glasses , “scener” , straighter hair . I want to maintain a low profile and have 1 best friend [pref. someone like me] and some other girlfriends & hopefully a crush who knows I exist and whom I aquaint with . How can I do this while still mainting my few old friends, good grades, and not being picked on by th e older kids . I don’t want to go through another year of crap but I am for certain that I shall be made fun of once more by the main clique. I know I will have to stand up for myself but any detailed tips on how to wear my clothes , be a good kid , stop my humor from being dry & outright annoying , and land myself some decent friends. I’m looking to move up to the more average category rather than maintaining this loser persona . And becoming friends with “emo/punk/scene” people will not work because they rarely exist where I live. Also, a dumb question I know, but what type of items should I buy?
