(More customer reviews)I have an old (model 280) Vornado air circulator which I love-- big air flow and minimal noise, so I automatically gravitated towards Vornado when I needed a new compact fan that could move a lot of air.This new fan is loud for a Vornado. Despite some cushioning material in/around the clip, it has a heavy/audible vibration even at its lower (of 2) settings, and the desk it's attached to vibrates. I intended this fan to cool a hot spot created by computers in my office, but its noise (even on low) is a bit louder than the computer fans and spinning hard drives.Disappointingly, this fan moves less air than other compact Vornado fans, but its saving grace is the big clip and multi-directional adjustable head. It can be aimed at pretty much any angle (in roughly 20 or 30-degree steps) and the clip is strong enough to hold the fan in place upside down without slipping off its mount (ie, with the closed end of the clip towards the ground, it doesn't work lose with gravity, at least not in a short test).Vornado fans are now made in China instead of the US. This may have affected quality/quietness versus older fans...I give it 4 stars, instead of the 3 the fan by itself rates, for its ingenious swivel-head clip design.I think I'll just have to get a big Vornado for the computer room and find floor space for it, after unsuccessfully trying and returning several compact Vornados because they were just too noisy.

When I contacted the manufacturer (ATLANTIC FURNITURE-not this website), they told me I didn't need the pieces listed in their directions. When I asked them for that in writing, because cribs are recalled all the time, they offered to send me new pieces. They sent pieces to a used crib! So now I've paid about $400 for a scratched headboard and side rail and am now still waiting for them to make it right. It has been 2 weeks. TERRIBLE MANUFACTURING. It looks great, but the company has terrible customer service. Pick another company.

The head board with a pillow against it is very comfortable and inobtrusive (some headboards can be incredibly uncomfortable to lean against even with pillows). The dark chocolate finish is well done and the wood is very smooth, but still shows a pleasant natural grain.Unfortunately, it's not perfect, and if you're buying this bed I hope you read this bit. It's difficult to see, but is still visible in the photo, there's a third row of legs that go up the middle of the bed. These add additional support for the weight of the mattress, but I dislike them. They aren't glaringly obvious, you won't notice them once the bed is put together, but they meant something else to me. They meant that the manufacturer wasn't confident enough in the construction of their bed to have the bed be built without the additional support. If you planned on sliding long aftermarket drawers under this bed think again, the third row of legs will block them.Also, part of the wood cracked when I inserted one of the included wooden dowels. This was unfortunate, but the bed has 2 dowels and 2 bolts which hold each part together, so it's still plenty strong. I used a bit of wood glue and reinforced the crack.I've been using this bed a month now with no problems. I really do like the simple design and clean lines. If you're looking for something that doesn't scream "look at me!" but instead has simple elegance, go with this bed.

From my daughter's perspective, it is so cool she was telling her friends at school about it before I was even finished putting it together. The shipping took longer than I was hoping so my husband left for a deployment before it got here. I was a little worried after reading the other review but I had no problems putting it together by myself. Carrying it upstairs by myself sucked a little bit, but at least it is very sturdy. Also, the ability to switch out the color plates is fantastic and makes it easier to match different color schemes.

(More customer reviews)We recently purchased this low loft bed for our 7 year old son. It's time to get him a desk and his room was just too small for a standard bed, dresser and desk. So we went with the loft. It frees up quite a lot of space for a desk. This is quality furniture, solid and fairly heavy. Assembly was easy (requires more than one adult) and required a couple screwdrivers and screwgun/drill to affix the support slats to the side rails. The bed is raised to low loft height with a loft kit, basically extension posts for the legs. The drawers on the dresser have safety stops, so there's no slamming them. Packaging was good and I received the items with no damage. The bed looks very nice in his room, classic and just right for a growing boy. I have only a few issues: One, although it's nice to have the extension kit for the legs so the bed could be lowered at some future date, the loft kit legs do not match up quite right with the legs of the bed, it's very obvious there are extensions on the legs. It's not a smooth transition from the bed leg to the extension. This is a minor issue, though, only aesthetic and not functional. Two, there are small marks on parts of the bed made with permanent marker. I can't say why this might be except maybe some sort of packaging QA for counting, but a few of them are visible once the bed is assembled. Nothing major, but it seemed kind of careless given the quality of the furniture and the care taken to package it well. Three, the color is a darker honey than I expected based on the pictures I saw online (In the spirit of disclosure, I did not purchase the item from Amazon, but the photo shown here is the same as on the site where I purchased it. I came back to Amazon to look for the matching desk.) It's a beautiful, rich color, so this isn't a complaint, but just an observation. My son spent his first night in the bed last night. No problems getting in or out and he was thrilled with it. I do recommend using a bunkie board with this bed, because the only support is wooden slats. We purchased a memory foam mattress for use with the bed, and it's a low enough profile that it works quite well with the frame and bunkie board. Do not try to use a box spring, as it would place the mattress above the safety rails. Overall, I'm really pleased with this item and would recommend it.
