Banks make so much money because they can create money,
effectively out of nothing, by lending. Every single pound in
your bank account was created by a bank, not by your government.
George Osborne says that we all must pay more taxes and receive
fewer public services. According to the chancellor there is no
Plan B for the UK economy – but he’s utterly wrong. We could make
one simple spending cut that could make all others unnecessary.
Here’s Plan B: cut the benefits to bankers! Banks are the most
heavily subsidised businesses in the world, specially protected
by governments. While the money runs out for the rest of us, the
largest private banks still thrive. This is because they get the
biggest subsidy of them all – the licence to print money. Hard to
believe? Martin Wolf, the Chief Economics Editor at the Financial
Times, said it recently: “The essence of the contemporary
monetary system is the creation of money, out of nothing, by
private banks’ often foolish lending…” You heard that right.
Private banks create money out of nothing! Then they loan it to
us and ask for interest on top! If you’ve ever wondered why the
bank buildings around the world soar higher than any palace or
spire ever did, you now have the answer. But the banks don’t
simply print money using secret printing presses in their
basements. They don’t have to. Like so many other things these
days, printing money has now gone digital. With the popular use
of debit cards, electronic fund transfers, and …

Question posed by model_scout: Has anyone
experienced getting a virus in totally dependable websites such
as internet banking websites?
I got a virus yesterday from HSBC Philippines website when I was
about to log in my username and password. This box popped out
(like when ur downloading) and it seemed to be downloading
something in my system. Then after that, 50 internet explorer
windows popped out! and all have the same thing in them – a
message from HSBC that has to do with receiving fraudulent mail
or something like that. Need help! Has anyone ever experienced
this? Is this caused by the HSBC website? I thought these kinds
of website are safe and secure???

Answer by Alex RIt appears that you became the victim of scammers. These people create web sites that are the copies of real bank web sites in order to collect login details. I reckon you opened the link to this site from the email that was sent to you?

Question posed by RadiatorMan: Internet Banking
Problems?
I have recently created an account on HSBC Internet Banking. I am
trying to log on for the first time and have been asked for my
ID. After submitting that, I was directed to a page asking for my
date of birth and my “full password”. I’m SURE this password is
instead meant to ask for select digits from my Security Number
and is even saying below, “Forgot your Securty Number?”. What
password do I enter? I have tried my whole Security Code, My
Account Number, my Sort Code, everything, but it won’t allow me
in. Instead it comes up with “Please ensure you have entered the
correct digits from your Security Code, numbers only”. How can I
enter select numbers if it says “full password”??? Please help
My chosen answer:
Answer by Ramon DWhy don’t you just try the “Forgot your Security Number” link?

A question from Ya Umm!: Paypal & Internet
banking query?
OK, I am very new to paypal.. I created an account some weeks ago
and only today I decided to use it. I followed the instruction to
top up my account, but didn’t realise the note whereby Internet
banking via DBS is not supported. But the thing is, I have made a
transfer from DBS to Paypal assigned bank, in this case, Bank of
America. So my money is in there now, but I can’t use it for
purchases on ebay. What do I do now? Any possibilities that I may
get a refund? Tried calling DBS,no help…Paypal is hopeless on the
phone, tried emailing them but no reply since. Any advice?
Most detailed answer:
Answer by stumpu2You should be able to transfer the funds right back. The transfers work both ways. So just log into your pay pal account and go to transfer funds and choose to transfer from pay pal back to the account you took it from.
