(More customer reviews)It was 'ignaugurated' at a party I hosted, and the 5 gal keg didn't last long! (Of course, it was a good beer...locally brewed Pacific Coast Emerald Ale.)
Be prepared: After it's set up and you've had people over, you're going to be QUITE popular! Expect comments like "I'm going to be over at your place every afternoon." Haier America should realize their best marketing ploy is satisfied customers. I've had it two weeks and Haier may be selling 3 additional units soon.
OK, so what about the product rating, especially in light of all the negative comments provided earlier? Well, here's my take on it:
- Set up was fairly simple, if you discount the fact that one part was missing (see below).
- Quality seems to be adequate. They use quality parts, e.g., the CO2 regulator and dispensing valve.
- It's keeping my second (post party) keg perfectly chilled and pressurized. (Since the first keg only lasted several hours, we can't base much judgement on that.)
- It's wonderful to come home to a fresh, draft beer!
- Finding a place to refill the CO2 canister can be difficult. Most commercial places will only exchange (take your brand new canister and give you a used, filled canister). I finally found a fire extinguisher service that does refills after making MANY calls.
Does this make it perfect? Hardly.
My experience confirms that Haier America has poor customer service. I purcased the unit a week in advance of a party I was hosting. After getting it home and setting it up, I realized (according to the manual) that it was missing the washer that goes between the CO2 tank and the regulator. I called Haier customer service the following morning and was shocked by how they treated me. The basic tone of their response was "tough luck." I would have to follow their procedures which were: 1) fax or send via US mail my purchase receipt 2) Allow them two business days from their receipt of this to get back to me 3) After doing a 'confirmation' they would send me the washer within two weeks.
I was irate and told them so! I had purchased the unit specifically for my upcoming party and now would not be able to use it! Their reponse: "These are our procedures."
I did two things after this:
1) I located the manufacturer of the CO2 regulator and contacted them about the possibility of getting a washer. They informed me that the regulator was redesigned and did not need a washer. Haier was supposed to include an update with their user manual (they didn't, and customer service obviously wasn't aware of this change).
2) I located information on Haier America and faxed their CEO an scathing letter telling him what I thought about spending $500 for something and not being able to use it at the function I bought it for! Lo and behold, the next day I received a call from their corporate offices saying they would be overnighting me the missing washer. I explained I had learned it wasn't needed, but the woman calling me wasn't taking any chances. She overnighted it to me anyway. Moral of the story: Make your voice heard when you recieve bad service.
Anyway, my 'washerless' set up is now working fine and I'm loving the unit.

First off, I bought it to mainly clean hard floors (vinyl flooring mostly) but the steam sprays forward from one nozzel as opposed to down onto the floor. It sprays forward into a terry pocket that fits on the end of a wand, so the terry gets soaking wet and the floor gets the same cleaning as if you mopped with hot water! I used to own a Eureka Enviro-steamer that sprayed the steam down through several vents directly thru a terry bonnet onto the floor... straight down!! The Eureka worked fabulously except that I had to refill it 3 or 4 times to do all my floors so I gave it away and wasted my hard earned $$ on this piece of garbage. Now, fast forward to 8 months after I buy it and the on/off switch that controls the steam flow is broken and I cannot turn it OFF!! So I can't use this thing at all because it doesn't build up pressure because the water is spraying out of the tip before it can generate any steam because it won't shut off!! I called the company after an hour of searching the web to find out who to call and guess what????? I have to pay to ship this thing to them with ALL the attachments and then pay to have it shipped back to me!!! DO I NEED TO SPEND ANOTHER 40 OR 50 DOLLARS ON SHIPPING????????? Needless to say, I'm aggravated as all get-out over this thing and my husband is mad that I gave away the Eureka on top of it all!!
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! BETTER YET, EVEN IF YOU ARE OFFERED IT FOR FREE DON'T BOTHER!!!

Reason:
The distance of the vent hose was about 20 feet. I was using a "Y" 4" PVC pipe fitting to tie in with an existing 4 inch bathroom vent hose.
Pros:
- Wiring a regular on and off switch was easy.
- The unit has excellent draw, zero moist air backs-ups into the room.
- The mounting brackets were very handy to secure to the studs.
- It's very quiet, this was a concern as it is a rental unit and there is a shared wall 12 inches from the unit.
- The unit has no noticable vibration, very important when installing in a ceiling.
Cons:
- I wish the unit had an auto-sensor to turn-on once air pressure from the dryer hit it; for the price, I think this would not be too much to ask.
Concerns:
- I hope it lasts a long time as getting into the crawl-space to replace or repair the unit would be a nightmare now that my teneants have moved in.
I didn't buy the unit because it was the cheapest, I bought this model because it looked well designed.

After cutting down the unruly bushes, I found the shingles to be dark & moldy and the grime was pretty much set in.
I used the Krud Kutter as directed and was very pleasantly surprised. Although it did not make the shingles look new, it did a great job of getting off most of the caked on moss & mold.

(More customer reviews)This is a well-made product, with solid brass fittings and ball valves (it is heavy!) Theoretically, it is easy to hook up. You unhook your washing machine hoses, connect the Tropic Shower, and hook your washing machine hoses onto the Tropic Shower. You then control whether you want water to go to your washer or out to a hose (which connects to the Tropic Shower) using a ball valve. You also control the amount of hot water coming from the hot water tap using another ball valve. The challenge (if you have an older home) is getting those darned washing machine hoses off of your faucets to begin with, and making sure everything is hooked up with no leakage (make sure you turn off water to the house and water to the hot water heater before you start!) Teflon tape may be your best friend. We highly recommend you use teflon tape even if you have a newer home where the threads on your faucets are in better shape. Also, make sure that the valve is turned to the "off" position (water to the washer only) before you turn the water back on! This is serious high-pressure water. I wouldn't want you to ruin your nice wood floors with a flood. Once hooked up to the washer/dryer faucets, then all you do is hook up a hose, and you're ready to go. Another piece of advice - get a high-quality hose that won't kink, and use teflon tape! We got a cheapo hose and it never stopped leaking where it connects to the Tropic Shower (it was the hose's fault, not Tropic Shower's), even with gobs of Teflon tape. Plus, it kept kinking, building up water pressure behind the kink, and contributing to the leaking. Also make sure that when the plastic shower head is turned off (a big water saver when bathing a dog!), that there are no leaks at the point where the hose connects to Tropic Shower. I wouldn't want you out there for an hour bathing dogs, only to come back to puddles of water. My only piece of advice to Tropic Shower is that they somehow make a "lock" that will hold that ball valve in the "water to the washer only" position when you're not bathing dogs, so that if you accidentally bump that valve in any way, you don't get a face-full of high-pressure water.
OK, if you have managed to successfully hook up the Tropic Shower, it is time to give your dog a bath. The nice thing is that you can control the water pressure to the hose by simply turning the valve as far as you want. Let me warn you now - if you have water-shy dogs, turning the valve ALL the way on will result in water pressure similar to the one produced by the Shower Head for Elephants that Kramer bought off the black market in Seinfeld. Enough to blast your dog right out of his Booster Bath (which, by the way, is another great product). So, we like to turn it on only half-way or a-third-of-the-way, especially for our very water-shy dog. Test the pressure and temperature of the water before shocking your poor dog. If it is chilly outside, remember that when you turn the shower head off, the water in the hose is going to get cold, so when you turn it back on, let it run till the water warms up. A warm bath is priceless - it helps the dogs relax (well, as relaxed as dogs who hate baths can be) and it is also nicer for the humans to get pelted with warm water rather than cold when the dog shakes. Our dogs cried when we gave them baths using just cold water from a hose, even when it was warm outside. Talk about guilting us into buying a Tropic Shower! But seriously, cold water (and remember, even on a warm day, if the ground is still cold, that water is COLD) could be considered some form of animal cruelty. We really feel a lot more humane using nice warm water. Plus, that means you can give your dog a bath on a nice sunny day, even if it's chilly outside. A tip for those of you who struggle with dog shampoo - we use a great all-natural dog shampoo (not sure if we can advertise it here) and the best way to not waste it is to fill up a gallon jug with warm water, add plenty of shampoo, and shake to mix. When starting your dog's bath, simply use the gallon jug of very soapy warm water to suds up. It saves water, saves on shampoo, and makes it much easier to work the suds into the coat. Then when done, simply turn on your Tropic Shower and rinse. OK, OK, we use conditioner too. And then we rinse again. Spoiled rotten dogs. My only other suggestion to Paws Tropic is to make a pole with a moveable arm which attaches to the booster bath to hold the hose. Your arm gets mighty tired holding up the hose with one hand while desperately trying to rinse thoroughly with the other.
Overall, a great product. I do think that the instructions that come with the Tropic Shower could be a little more detailed (using Teflon tape, checking for leaks, etc.) to prevent runs to Home Depot during installation, and I also think that the labeling on the Tropic Shower itself could be better. I had to tape a piece of paper onto the Tropic Shower to remind me of which valve position means what. I also think that since this attaches permanently, some mechanism to lock the valve in the "water to washer only" position would be a very nice feature, if only for peace of mind.

So much sediment that we have to remove the factory installed screen on our clothes washer twice each time we wash a load of clothes. This is essentially a larger screen (trap), but more accessible and with a fibrous material included (filter). It might be a bit too restrictive for my needs. I like the product, and it's built well (solid and simple, PVC, easily disassembled/reassembled), but I'm not convinced it's any better than a pressure washer inline filter (green cap), and those have a more accessible filter if, like me, you need to remove it often.

(More customer reviews)This product is a great idea for those of us who don't have time to get out and scrub the windows. It makes a lot of sense to mix a concentrate to the water from a garden hose, which gives the pressure needed and makes rinsing easy.
If only it were so simple. The fittings are of such poor quality that the hose does not want to stay attached for very long, even with very low pressure. And the instructions tell you to manually brush or scrub any stubborn dirt prior to using the unit. What happened to the part where we don't have to scrub manually?!
I spent a morning trying to clean my back windows (thankfully I didn't do the fronts- the neighbors would've thought they were watching one of the 3 Stooges as the hose popped off, soaking me several times).
It gave me a good opportunity for comparison though- a bucket of water with a little bit of vinegar and a few drops of detergent, mopped onto the front windows and rinsed with a garden hose did a better job with less effort for less money and less of a mess in the same amount of time.
That's what I get for trying to be lazy!
The Windex product would be ideal if it were of better construction, with better gaskets and tighter fit. I presume that the chemical solution is adequate. I'm not sure if it's "green".
I would pay more for this product if it were better-built. And I would even buy concentrate refills. I think this is what happens to a good concept one the number-crunchers get a hold of it. Too bad.

(More customer reviews)After much online research, I chose this model for a backup home generator for use during power outages. The unit arrived undamaged in around two weeks. It was very easy to assemble and set up, and started right up. I tested the electrical output by running a Skilsaw on it, and it worked fine. I have only run it around 20 minutes so far, so have no idea how it will perform in the long run, but so far, I am very satisfied.
The thing that impressed me right from the start was how rugged this unit is, including the quality of the hardware, etc. that came with it. I am very happy that I made the decision to pay a little more for a propane model, as the advantages are almost too numerous to mention in the limited space available here.

(More customer reviews)I may be reiterating what many of the reviewers before me have said, but I may have a few helpful points to add.
First, they should have never used plastic adapters. Kitchen faucets with internal threads are quite common and the likelihood is high that you will have to use one of the included adapters to attach the filter to that kind of faucet. The plastic threading simply can't withstand the water pressure that will inevitably push on it when you turn the water on all the way.
It would have been very easy for them to use quality steel parts, and I'm sure most people would have been happy to even pay $5-10 more for something that will actually last. It is especially surprising that they would cut corners on a product where the real profit comes from the replacement filters rather than the original purchase. Who knows what they were thinking (or if they were thinking at all), but this product simply doesn't work when setup correctly.
The use of plastic is not where the problems end, however, because there is literally less than a half an inch of exposed threading within the top portion of the adapter. The adapters themselves also have around a quarter inch of threading. This is really a shame, because even using a weak material like plastic might be sufficient if they had enough threads engaging to strengthen the connection.
That said, if you are set on using this product (or forced to), here are a couple of things you can do to help alleviate the problem. I've gotten mine to work long enough for me to order something from one of their competitors.
- Turn the water pressure down on your faucet. In case you don't know how, there are usually two levers (one hot, one cold) underneath your sink that control the water supply. Try tightening them until the water flow is slow enough that it won't blow the filter off.
- Try epoxy or a similar plastic bonding agent. I used epoxy to bond the adapter to the filter mount. You can then screw it on by holding the rotating ring in place. This is an irreversible and permanent solution, but it will make it so that there is only one point that will leak.
- Another poster suggested you can contact Brita to get a metal replacement adapter. That may be a good solution. However, keep in mind that you will still have to screw the metal adapter into a short length of plastic threading. That may simply shift the weakest point to a different part of the mount.

The price was rather steep for a three use - about $1.25. Mr. Clean car wash system works great and I am sorry that they stopped making it, but I will probably not buy many more filters a this price. So, the seller did a good job of getting it to me on time, the product works well, but I think it is over-priced. I guess when you have some of the last left you can charge what you wish, can't argue with capitalism!

As a nozzle it seems to be of good enough quality, but a $10 nozzle from a local home improvement store provides just as much pressure.
