(More customer reviews)I purchased this compressor in May of 2004. Ordered it through Northern Tool.
The Northern Tool company is great in itself, transaction went through cleanly and quickly and the compressor was soon on its way to my home through freight shipping. Ordered a few other tools along with the compressor and those got to my house quickly and at an excellent price. But then when the nightmare began.
I received my air compressor sometime around mid june and broke the engine in as per manufacturer instructions. First day out on the job I ran it for about 10 minutes and it broke down! cost me 200 dollars in lost wages that day!
I called Ingersoll-Rand customer service. After waiting about 20 minutes to actually talk to someone they told me (in a quite rude manner) that I should take it to a specialized certified mechanic in town that fixes all of their products and that it wasnt a problem with the factory.
I took it to the mechanic they had referred me to only to find out they were not an Ingersoll-Rand service center! IR had revoked his certification because he wasnt meeting some kind of quota set by IR!
I called IR back to confirm the place and they told me not to go to the mechanic they had referred me to earlier, instead to go 150 miles south to a shop in Los Angeles! I, rather annoyed, reminded them that I was loosing money every day this machine was down and that I expected better service from them and better quality of product. Well they basicly told me I wasnt important and told me I had no choice but to take it down to Los Angeles or try to fix it myself.
Well I couldnt wait. I took the compressor apart and found out that some numbnut at the factory did not properly tighten the screws on the flywheels that connect the engine to the compressor pump. As a matter of fact it didnt even have the square key thats designed to hold the wheel in place! The wheel on the engine side had been stripped to the point where it was unusable.
Once again I called them to find out if the parts I could order to get this thing up and running again would be covered under warranty, and they told me since I took it apart it was no longer under warranty and that I was up the creek without a paddle.
50 dollars in parts later I had it up and running and I was making money again.
Since then the compressor has been excellent. It has not failed since I fixed it and it has a higher CFM per PSI than other compressors in its price range, and the Honda engine is one of the best and most reliable on the market right now. In all honesty I love this compressor but IRs customer service left a bad taste in my mouth.
Would I recommend this compressor? Yes, just make sure all the parts are tightened and in place becore you start it for the first time, especially the flywheels.
Am I happy with Ingersoll-Rand? Heck no. If push came to shove I will probably buy an Emglo or Dewalt compressor next time.

(More customer reviews)I did a lot of research before buying this item. It is installed in a new upstairs laundry so vibration and noise were a huge consideration. I was leaning towards the LG but it has steam clean and the Samsung offered silver care. I was not at all convinced that silver care would do any good but I knew that I would not use the stean clean( too hard on clothes). Turns out silver care kills bacteria and everything comes out smelling clean. The VRT really reduces vibration. I am very pleased with this product.

This is a great looking unit with a lot of nice features. We may just have gotten a bad one, so take this for what it is worth, but we have been pretty frustrated. The unit keeps showing Code 1 and refuses to work. I called Electrolux Customer Service, who I must say were honest and stated that their engineers had misdesigned the computer board and they were having a lot of problems. Said they had redesigned the board and would get one right to us. About four days later a repairman changed the board out. Only problem, it is still showing Code 1--a leak in the tub. So we have a brand new $1300 dishwasher that a contract repairman must completely take apart to fix a seal in the unit. Not what I would expect for a high-end product. Wish we had gone with the Bosch.
Want to amend my review a little, and raise this to four stars. The above unit was defective. Lets face it, no company is perfect and everyone produces a lemon every once and a while. I must say that Electrolux customer service was great to deal with. After I told them that the panel replacement had not fixed the issue, they immediately stated they would replace the entire unit. We have the new unit in and it is a very nice dishwasher. Its quiet, does a good job, and has a lot of room inside. My only complaint would be that if your dishwasher is to the left of your sink, sometimes you will accidentally hit the touch panel on top of the door. Not a big issue though. We are happy with the unit, so I take back my words about preferring the Bosch.
Well, I will go down to 1 star. Now, almost two years later, and all of the above, guess what we got with the new unit--Code 1--a leak in the tub, only this time it was also leaking water on the floor. I called customer service, but they told me that it was past its warranty, so I would have to fix it on my dime. After I complained about the trouble we have had with the unit, they agreed to send a parts kit and a repairman, but stated this would be the last time they would cover anything. If they hadn't agreed parts and labor would have been $350 on a unit less than two years old. Got the parts kit quickly, and the repairman changed out the parts--including one of the pumps which his tests determined was also failing--it had become really loud. It is now working, although I have no idea how long it will be before the next problem. At the next problem, I'm not calling Electrolux, I'm just throwing this dishwasher out and buying a Bosch. I would never buy this dishwasher again, nor frankly would I buy any additional Electrolux appliances. My family members have $500 dishwashers which have lasted far longer and frankly clean the dishes better than this appliance. This is not an Electrolux of European quality, its a Frigidaire with Electrolux stamped on the outside. Electrolux is doing itself some serious damage in the US market with appliances like this. We also have their gas range, which I have also rated poorly, because of some easily avoidable poor design features. Avoid this dishwasher!!
December 2010 :) The happy face is because sometimes in life you just have to laugh!!! So after the last fix it has lasted 8 months. Tonight Error Code 1. I'm staying true to my last comment, its going in the garbage and I will buy a Bosch tomorrow. This is clearly a case of a manufacturer foisting a defective product on the public. I'm going to review the California Lemon Law and possibly discuss with an attorney. This is a $1300 appliance!!! Quite simply, unbelievable!!!

I put it together and took it apart multiple times because it was the only thing that leaked after I had the entire system set up. Maybe I was doing something wrong, but its pretty simple to put together. One thing, don't be fooled by the photos. The panels will not set up nicely against the side of your pool by themselves like the promo pictures show. (Unless someone out there knows a trick) and no one out there sells racks pre-made, so you will have to make due with placing the panels at an angle against the pool the best you can or on the ground. But in one day, with one set of 4x10ft (that's all I have room for), the temperature of the pool with the use of a solar cover, went up 5 degrees with the pump only running about 6 hours.

(More customer reviews)I have owned this Samsung dishwasher for about a month now. I am shocked to see the bad rap it is getting on this site. There were some growing pains with it, that I will describe below, but I went to the Samsung website and looked at their troubleshooting section and I found my answers.
Like other reviewers, the single biggest complaint I had was that the dishes were not coming out dry. They were soaked! The inside walls of the dishwasher were dripping wet after drying on the "Very Dry/Sanitize" cycle and being left closed all night. Hmmm. Well, there is a big note on the top of the door that says for dry dishes, you need to use a drying agent. I had never used one before. How could that possibly work? On the Samsung troubleshooting website it mentions a specific brand to get, "Jet Dry Turbo Dry". I went to the store and bought it for $6. You add it to the dishwasher once a month and set how much to use by turning a small dial 1(min) to 4(max). A bottle looks like it will last about 6 months. With Jet Dry Turbo Dry everything is bone dry. This is on the Normal Dry setting and with the dial set to 2. Amazing stuff. I don't understand how it works so well, but it does.
It turns out if you read the manual and use the recommended products, it works great.
I use regular Electrosol soap tablets and have not had any problems with clean dishes or cutlery. I did not need to use any "high efficiency" soap like mentioned in a previous review. I just stuck to the regular stuff that Samsung recommends.
It is very quiet, which is amazing to me since it has a garburator in it for tough food scraps. It does not have a filter that needs cleaning like many European models. It takes just over 2 hours for a full clean/dry cycle but that is because it is energy efficient - one of the lowest energy consumptions in it's class. I can sacrifice speed to save energy ($$) since I only do a single load of dishes a day anyway.
People say the rack is no good? What more would you like? The top rack's height is adjustable without even taking the rack off the tracks. There is a button on each side of the top rack so you and raise and lower it. That is handy, I had a large pizza pan in the bottom and was able to raise the top rack so it would fit. Even the little pegs that stick up to hold the plates and dishes on the racks are adjustable. You can make them vertical or learn to the right or left. There are about 5 settings for these that you can click between, moving each row independently of the row beside it. Set them how you want. The cutlery basket is removable, some sections of the bottom rack lift right out if they are in the way or there are too many little pegs. You set it how you like so how can people complain? I think people just do not know they can change it to how they like.
The heater at the bottom for drying is covered so you wont have to worry about plastic items falling on the heater and melting.
There is supposed to be a cycle that you set and the dishwasher detects how clean the dishes are by how much food is in the water. Clean dishes use less water and time to wash, dirty ones take longer and it keeps going until it is clean. This sounds like a great feature, but I just realized I have never tried it. I may one day, but right now it cleans great just set to normal clean and normal dry.
I was initially displease with my purchase, but using the recommended Jet Dry Turbo Dry with it has changed my opinion on this dishwasher. I love it! I hope this review helps others with their decision and even helps those that have given it a bad review due to poor drying. Read the manual, once I did (after about a week) it works great. :)

It's definitely more expensive than a window air conditioner (probably at least double the cost); you're paying for appearance and convenience, not functionality. (It's easy to disconnect this unit and roll it away into a corner or closet.)
I bought two of these for two rooms with sliding casement windows that posed problems for window units -- and I didn't want to bother with installing and then removing bulky window units every season. One of the rooms is a very large bedroom with a cathedral ceiling, and the Frigidaire portable air conditioner has no problem keeping it cool. Your options for placing the unit are rather limited -- there is a somewhat flexible duct that must be run from the back of the unit to a window (or a hole through an exterior wall), and you also need a nearby electrical outlet, preferably on an isolated circuit.

The bluing on the barrel is poor as if put on by a inexpensive paint brush. The brass plating is gunked with heavily poured on varnish coating. Don't waste your money on this cheap looking and poor quality piece of junk!

(More customer reviews)I bought this product. The picture shows a brushed aluminum surface for the interior unit, and is the same for many other websites. When the delivery came to my house the product was ugly and white plastic. Not only that the model code was different, AWS090HR, and not AMS090HR. When you go to certain websites however, they specify that the actual product part numbers are all different, with one site stating that the AWS090HR unit was part of the same product code, but it is completely different from the advertised product pictured on the many sites including on Amazon.com.

(More customer reviews)We bought this pool last Memorial Day (2006) and have left it up all winter (fortunately we really don't have winter near Houston though) and it has been great. It took almost two weeks to get the chemicals/levels of the water correct and since then it has been clear with very little maintenance. We leave the pump running pretty much all the time and keep a chlorine floater in all the time and other than cleaning the filter and replacing it every few months and occasional vacuuming that's it! MUCH better than an inflatable ring pool (we had one the year before and took it down and gave it away), definitely worth a few more $. We shopped and shopped and haven't regretted this purchase at all. It's that time of year that I started shopping every year before for an inexpensive pool so hope this helps anyone looking.

(More customer reviews)This little pancake-tank compressor is a heavyweight in every sense of the word. It weighs a ton. Amazon lists the shipping weight as 63 pounds. I'm not sure of the exact true weight, but near to 50 pounds surely isn't far off. That makes it twice as heavy as some of the home center models. A lot of that weight is in the cast iron tank. It's a pain the neck (and back) to move around. But it also stays where you put it.
It's loud. Rol-Air compressors have always had a reputation for being loud, and this model certainly qualifies. It's almost deafening close up.
It's quality. Cast Iron, ball bearings, top quality pump. Heavy steel frame, good gauge and controls. Good fittings. Quality switch (Square D, in fact).
It pulls a lot of power. Try to run it off an extension on a 15 amp circuit (or one with other tools) and you'll pop the breaker. Every time. Probably on start-up when the starting load of the pump hits the circuit. That's the bad news. The good news is that the recovery time is short because the pump has enough power.
I bought mine in the early 90's. In other words, it's over 15 years old. I drain the tank once in a while, change and check the oil once in a while, but generally it sits in the shop or the garage where it waits - and continues to work, on demand, like new. You can't ask for much more than that.
Great compressor from a great manufacturer.
