(More customer reviews)For a little shy of a year this gate was used to block off our fireplace and we never had a need to open and close the door of the gate. When we moved to a home without a fireplace, we stuck the gate in a closet and didn't use it for a few years. Then we moved again, and we needed to block off an odd shaped passageway from our 16 month old. In this new location, the door of the gate was getting moderate daily use. After two months, one of the vertical bars on the gate broke off from the top horizontal bar. This exposed a sharp jagged metal piece.
I realize that the gate is a number of years old, but in terms of actual usage, it is quite new. At the time, I paid over $200 for the gate. I would have expected better performance.
I called the company to alert them of the problem. They seemed to not give concern to the problem as a real safety issue, and they informed me that as the warranty only covered a year, they cannot help me. I wasn't looking for a free replacement gate, but I would have thought that a company of their reputation would care about the problem.
A number of years ago I had a safety concern with a product from a major children's manufacturer. When I called the company with my concerns, they asked if they could take the damaged toy back so they could research the cause of the problem. A few weeks later they followed up asking questions in detail about how my child was using the product, my child's size, etc. They really wanted to get to the bottom of what went wrong. (I happened to notice, two years later, the same toy, totally redesigned. I wonder if I was a part of it.) I was very impressed with how they handled the problem and would not hesitate to buy their products again, despite my initial bad experience.
In contrast, Kidco displayed a complete lack of caring in terms of identifying, or perhaps rectifying a potential hazard. Luckily, in my situation, my baby did not get hurt. But I could easily see a child poking out an eye, or getting their head trapped between the bars.
At the very least then the manual should include a warning such as: "Do not use this gate for more than six years - you must buy a new one if you plan a second child a few years later" or "The door of this gate is not meant to be used. Opening and closing the doorway of the gate will cause it to break."

It has always fit the mattress and has not even a sign of starting to wear down or tear after all of this time. I wash in cold water if that makes any difference, But drying it has been dryed on High before and still strong as ever and fitts just right. Now I am going to get another one for my Newest arrival due in March .

It is solid wood and well worth the money. Like I said my daughter is now 2 and sleeps in it as a day bed. She naturally jumps on it and climbs all over it. I have checked the bolts and they have never been loose as for something to come undone. Great crib worth the money and I can't wait until it's a fullsize bed. Good longterm investment for your child.

(More customer reviews)I actually had a shower curtain wrapped around my two year olds bed before I found this product. And I think a mattress cover is great for anyone who has a bedwetting toddler. That said, I didn't tear it putting it on the mattress, but it tore beneath the fitted sheet while my son was sleeping. These are extremely thin. Much more thin than my cheap shower curtain as well. I bought 2. I have taped the tears together with duct tape and the more my two sons sleep on their respective mattresses the more tears I get. Soon the whole thing will likely be duct taped on there. UGH!!

(More customer reviews)I bought this pillow shortly before leaving on my first overseas flight; there was a selection of several animal designs offered on the rack, but I liked the brown dog the best. Not only is it cute, but it's also very comfortable as a neck pillow. It also works great as a regular pillow, particularly since hotel pillows aren't always the most comfortable. It really came in handy the night my travel group was staying in a Bedouin village in the Negev Desert and had no pillows available in the tent our hosts put us up in. Though I'm not a child, this pillow fits around my neck very well, since I have tiny little shoulders that accommodate it very well. The only small problem with it is that hair, lint, and clothing fuzz have a tendency to stick to it, and they have to be brushed or plucked off.

(More customer reviews)I have a Delta Jasmine crib, which my 15 month old toddler bit a piece of wood off of the side of the crib. I contacted Delta's customer service department and they were not willing to do anything about the damage. I spoke with a customer service rep, as well as his supervisor. They were very rude, telling me that it's my fault for not having teething rails on the bed. Even after I explained this was on the side rail and the first bite she took, a piece of wood came off of the crib into her mouth. Fortunately an adult was there and was able to get the wood out of her mouth. The supervisor hung up on me after I asked to speak with his boss. It's really sad that Delta does not back up their products or care about the consumers that keep them in business.
This review is to let consumers considering a Delta crib to know if anything does go wrong with the crib to not expect Delta to do anything about it. I have filed a report with the CPSC, so hopefully they can help with the wood issue. It'd be terrible for a toddler to bite off a piece of wood and something serious happen.....

(More customer reviews)We bought the Avalon chair & table set and two additional chairs. They are beautiful and very strong--adults sit on them with no problem. They are a little big for the smallest children (age 2 and under), but sit even 8 and 9 year olds comfortably. My children use this table for crafts; for dinner parties; etc. The only problem is that the table surface can be easily marked--we have a green marker line across the top and a crayon line up one leg. I'd think that the table could have a more wipe-clean surface. Food stains wipe up easily--but I think that some crayons and markers (and not just permanent ones) can stain the surface.

(More customer reviews)I have this toy in my home for my two and a half year old great grandson and his 9 month old sister. The toddler places the balls at the top for the ride down. The great granddaughter will grab one as it comes down, put it in her mouth, then try to place the ball back on one of the bridges. She develops skills as she follows the ball to grab it. Sometimes she succeeds in getting a ball back on a bridge. It is also convenient that the toy fits back into the box for storage.

My son likes to knock them over and pick them back up - where he has done it so much, the back is permantly loose (until it breaks). It can't be tightened.
Overall, if you have a calm child that just wants to sit and play at the table - I would highly recommend this set.

It seems to fascinate him that he can climb up the steps in the back or either of the rock climbing walls. I love it too, because when it's nice outside, he can climb on this- and not on everything in the house. lol I would highly reccomend this to anyone- especially for those active toddlers. But stay within arm's reach of the small kids!
I looked into all of the climbers with slides, and I especially like this one because it has a nice sized platform that the kids can play on. If you look carefully, not all of them are that way, in fact... it can be pretty easy for falls to happen on the others because if the kids take one step back- they fall off. Notice on this one, the opening for the stairs does NOT line up with the slide, which I think is much safer.

(More customer reviews)I purchased the jungle version of this kit. First, let me say that the video they produced to guide you says you can do all this in a weekend. NOT! Especially if you have anything else to do like laundry, eat a meal or watch a toddler. The instructions are GREAT - but three weekends later I am still not finished.

Also of note - if you have 'orange peel' walls, the stencils really don't stick very well which makes the painting process take way more time that if you had a flat surface to stick to. It also means that the edges of your characters will not be nice and smooth...because your wall is not nice and smooth. This means you have to do a lot of touch up painting when you finish with all the stenciling.
Although it seems like a deal that they supply the brushes when you purchase directly from their site, the sponges just don't work as well as real bristle brushes and again - it takes you a while to figure that out so that increase the amount of time it takes to do the painting.
Overall, I LOVE how may son's new paint job looks - he even helped on a couple of pieces of it and he is 6. However, don't think it will be done in one weekend. We had to take everything out of his room and it has been sitting in my office now for almost a month. Inconvenient to say the least.
I did however, rate this at 4 stars as these are all minor compared to the cool room my son now has! Just be forewarned to schedule a good deal of time to make it happen.
