(More customer reviews)I spent several weeks looking at the assortment of PDA's presently on the market. A number of excellent "palmtops" are available, some outstanding for what they do, but they just didn't have the "stuff" I wanted. Furthermore, I'm a longtime keyboard person, and wasn't particularly excited by all the stylus models.
The Jornada 690 is as close to the right choice as I've been able to find for that combination of features, software, usability and portability I've been seeking. The keyboard is cramped and takes some getting used to, but with practice it's usable. The stylus, functioning as a mouse is basically intuitive, and the sketching utility is handy for my particular line of work.
The startup was flawless, and it linked up with my desktop immediately, requiring only a couple of adjustments to have them conversing comfortably. I've had no lockups nor crashes in CE or any of the apps. So far it has run reliably, and is exactly what I had hoped, a laptop I can carry around in my hand, for me the right choice. I give it 5 stars and hope H-P and MS will continue to support it.

(More customer reviews)Bought this GPS for $60. The good thing is that it can be easily unlocked into a general purpose WINCE machine. The RW400 comes with a multimedia menu out of the box, where you can read txt, watch a few kinds of videos and view pics in a ugly browser. But that's far from what it can actually do. Search "towince" and download the exe into any folder on the SD card that comes with your machine. Change the GPS path to where it is and run. Voila! The WINCE desktop appears! You can view every on-device directory, edit the registry, and launch various applications---it's even pre-loaded with pdf/doc/ppt softwares. Funny why they installed all those stuff if they are not willing to show them to the users.
The copilot software is OK. Smooth interface and quite accurate directions, but 3D display seems a little lagging when there're lots of objects on the map. Not so many POIs---can not find the local bloom store and a newly opened cinema. But you can load your own POI file. Anyway, nearly everything on this device is customizable, including changing GPS software.
Power drains VERY quickly though. Need a recharge every 2 hours if used heavily.
In short, this is a great GPS for geeks who have love of such gadgets. Price is unbeatable.

(More customer reviews)Overall, I am happy with my purchase, even if there are a couple of issues. The sound is good, although when I use it at the gym, I need to have the volume all the way up in order to drown out the gym music. I think that's because the ear buds on the wireless headphones don't fit properly in my ears. They are a littl big. But outside of the gym, walking for example, I don't need the volume up nearly that high.
The largest fault I have with this product is the charger for the wireless headphones. They don't work all that well, in that the connection is touchy and it takes a few minutes for me to be sure they are charging and quite often the charge is not complete. I'm considering having the wireless charger replaced if possible...
The reception with the wireless headphones is good, although I've experienced some static when I have the unit in my pocket at the gym, and I am riding the recumbent bike. When I am lifting weights though, I experience no issues with reception with it in my pocket. And also when walking outside, there is perfect reception.
The battery life on the unit itself is fantastic. I can use it for three weeks without having to recharge it (using it only about an hour or two a day).
If you are a music fanatic, the storage is probably small for most people. For me it is perfect...I have about 200 songs on there plus two hour long podcasts.
My biggest frustration is the FF or RW function, which may be present on other MP3 players as well. If I am 30 minutes into a podcast for example and missed something, I need to be very careful how I rewind or it will go all the way back to the beginning and the only way I know to get it back to where I was is to just hold the Forward button down, which takes quite a while to FF back to the place where I was.
I don't have any experience with any other MP3 players, as this is my first one. But I wanted it for the wireless functionality and I am overall very happy with it's performance. Even with the issues I stated above, had I been able to try this before purchasing, I still would have purchased this unit.

(More customer reviews)I think this optical instrument should be mandatory on all golf courses. Just as iPods have obviated CDs, this device will completely obviate the need for yardages on sprinkler heads and the like. Here's my normal round without the Bushnell Pinseeker: I drive out in the fairway -- hopefully -- and then have to find a sprinkler head. From there I have to pace it off to my ball. I get a yardage, but that's to the center of the green. At my home course I go to a pin sheet which has a crude outline of the green with four numbers on the green -- back left, back right, front left, front center. Now, assuming we're playing the back left number, I have to do some speculative math to determine how far back left the pin is, add that to the yardage ... you get the picture. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!! The Bushnell zeroes in on the flag and gives me an exact-to-the-pin yardage every time. DO NOT get the cheaper versions as the optics are not good and it's almost impossible to lock in on the flag -- you will be terribly disappointed if you get the under $200 one. And the one that factors in slope is not USGA legal. I just finished a round at famous Riviera C.C. I had a caddy. He was calculating yardages for both me and my partner and he was amazingly accurate, but the time he wasted pacing off yardages from sprinkler heads ... and whenever someone hit it right or left in the Eucalyptuses he relied heavily on my Bushnell for the yardages. And he was not spot-on with his distances. This has been by far the best new thing I have put in my bag. It's a little pricey but then no one thinks about spending $400 for that new driver that does nothing to improve their swing. One thing the Bushnell has done is to really refine my iron distances. I'm a single digit handicap and this beautiful little instrument has just been a fantastic addition. I don't work for the company and I think their cheaper products are garbage. But this little guy is a beaut.

Your Bushnell Pinseeker 1500 is an advanced premium laser rangefinder comprised of digital technology that allows range readings from 5 to 1,500 yards. Laser Rangefinder Tech Talk
A laser rangefinder is a distance-measuring instrument that uses laser technology to calculate the distance to targeted objects. Accuracy is +/- 1 yard, and the distance is displayed instantaneously on a built-in, through-the-lens Liquid Crystal Display.
How a Laser Rangefinder Works Bushnell's Yardage Pro rangefinders use an invisible, eye-safe Class 1 Laser beam (as classified by the FDA) which is "bounced" off distant objects with the press of a button. Then, the rangefinder's high-speed digital clock measures the time it took for a laser beam to reach a target and return to the unit. Next, using advanced digital electronics, the rangefinder instantly calculates the distance within +/- 1 yard and shows the range in either yards or meters on a through-the-lens LCD Display. The entire process is so fast that less than a second elapses between the time you press the button to generate a laser beam to the time the exact range to your target is displayed.
Reflectivity of Target Types Because rangefinders "bounce" a laser beam off the target in order to take a measurement, their range is partially determined by the reflectivity of the target. In other words, hard or "reflective" targets -- like a rock cliff or semi-truck -- can be measured at greater distances than soft surface targets, like a deer. Ranges for moderately reflective targets, like trees, fall somewhere in the middle. Most experienced hunters will use their rangefinder to frequently estimate ranges to near and distant landmarks before they actually encounter a game animal. By "pre-measuring" ranges to spots where a trophy is likely to appear, they can concentrate on making an accurate shot when the moment of truth arrives.

(More customer reviews)In Microsoft's previous design of their Natural Elite keyboard, they attempted to decrease the footprint size of the keyboard by rearranging the cursor keypad along with the PAGE UP/DOWN, HOME/END, and DELETE/INSERT keys. This unfamiliar and unnatural key arrangement caused problems for many users. Now the original standard arrangement has been restored. Yes!
New with this keyboard is a massive row of programmable shortcut buttons along the top. Many of them replicate your web browser's buttons like back/forward, stop, and so on. Others are quick launch buttons for applications like e-mail, web browser, and the calculator. The calculator is probably the most useful shortcut button because it would normally take four mouse movements to launch the calculator from the Accessories Programs Start Menu folder. Believe it or not, the calculator launch button is right above the numeric keypad--good deal!
Another bonus feature of this keyboard is the common shortcut keys printed on the front edge of the respective keys. The CTRL key has a star-like symbol next to it, and you'll find the same symbol printed on the front of several keys like C, X, and V with the shortcut names "Copy", "Cut", and "Paste". These cues are good for helping users learn the keyboard shotcuts to eliminate slower mouse movements.
What's left to improve on? Well, how abot a set of buttons that correspond to the common buttons found in every window? There's the minimize, maximize/restore, close, and scrollbar up/down/left/right. Arrange these buttons on the keyboard in a layout that represents their visual arrangement on screen.
The keys are responsive and fast, but they still seem to lack a feel that provides good tactile feedback for fast typists. Good keys tend to spring back quickly and have a definite threshold point and resistance level; this is more commonly found in more expensive keyboards. I prefer the feel of some Hewlett Packard keyboards I've used that ship with their high-end workstations/servers--other people probably have different tastes for keyboard feel. Overall, the feel of the Microsoft keyboard is comfortable and quiet, but maybe they will work on the keys a little more in a newer model.

The capability to connect external battery is great, since that can help reduce the downtime when California experiencing "rolling black" in the summer.
There are basically 2 differences between the Back-UPS RS(BR1500) and the Back-UPS XS (BX1500) models besides their names.1. The Back-UPS RS models have both 1-line 2-wire phone/fax/modem data-line protection and 10/100base-T ethernet protection, where as the Back-UPS XS models only has 1-line 2-wire phone/fax/modem protection.
2. The Back-UPS RS models have both Boost* and Trim** as features of Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), where as the Back-UPS XS only has Boost. When the input voltage increases above the high transfer point of a Back-UPS XS model it will only go to battery.*AVR Boost: The UPS is compensating for a low utility voltage. While the UPS can run in this mode indefinitely without any negative impact on the UPS, the circuit should be checked by a qualified electrician if the utility voltage is consistently low.
**AVR Trim: The UPS is compensating for a high utility voltage. While the UPS can run in this mode indefinitely without any negative impact on the UPS, the circuit should be checked by a qualified electrician if the utility voltage is consistently high.
BX1500 does not have the AVR trim feature, when AC line voltage is higher than spec, it will switch over the battery power till the line voltage drops into the spec range.
Please note this is called "backup UPS", not the "smart UPS" line. Backup UPS does not produce pure sine wave. When power lost, it will take some milli-seconds to switch over to battery power. "Smart-UPS" produces sine wave and the output AC was from DC source all the time. When AC input lost, the AC output will not have any interrupt.
For most computers, the "backup-UPS" is good enough, since the power supply inside PC always have capacitors that can hold for about 100MS or longer. When "backup-UPS" switched over in about 20MS, the computer will continue operates without much impact. But for A/V equipment, this may be an issue, especially the output is not pure sine wave. I would not recommend use this UPS for A/V equipment.

PC Miler PCM430 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator Review

(More customer reviews)I got this in August from Dieselboss and it already had the new maps on it. It definitely made a huge difference once I set up my truck and road profile properly. It came with the settings on "default" which drove me like a car until I read their quick-start guide and saved a profile that matched my truck's height, weight, length properly. It also has a further setting for favoring the larger roads (interstates) and telling it to NOT use local and smaller roads. I agree with other reviews about the speaker because once you have all of your truck noise it is difficult to hear what it is saying. I bought an FM transmitter and plugged it into the headphone jack and now it's nice and loud out of my stereo speakers. I don't need the voice out on open, long stretches of highway anyway and only turn on the FM transmitter to hear it when I get close to my destination. The new maps also seem to have the points of interest (truck stops, weigh stations, WalMarts, etc) very accurate. Nearly every truck stop I punched up was current and took me right to it. All-in-all it is no replacement for common sense of course, but has been very valuable so far in keeping me from going out-of-route and on time. I bought the Garmin 465T previously and though that one seems to have a few more raw addresses in it, this one has been much more accurate in keeping me on proper truck routes than the Garmin was.

This card is in a computer in the basement and the router is on the 3rd floor at the other end of the house, the signal is going through quite a bit of material, and is somewhat weak, but the speed is still very quick.

(More customer reviews)I am actually using diNovo keyboard to type this review, and it is a bit of a struggle due to malfunctioning spacebar. :(
I did a bit of research on diNovo before buying it. Most online magazines (PCMag, CNet, etc.) highly recommend this product, noting its high price as the only drawback.
I got this keyboard/mouse combo a week ago, and I must say it looks and feels great. Separate keyboard and touchpad save you desk space. Mouse runs all day without a need for recharging.
I didn't experience any connection issues. It was only one time that I had to press the "connect" buttons on BlueTooth hub and mouse to have it re-detected because it stopped functioning all of the sudden.
The initial installation was smooth. I downloaded the latest drivers, got everything connected and everything went well from there... until yesterday.
All of the sudden the space bar (probably the most useable key on any keyboard) started losing response. I had to hit it harder to move the cursor and even then, at times, it would not respond. As I type this, I often have to hit the spacebar 4-5 times in order to make a single space between the words.
Another problem surfaced early this morning. The lower "fast scroll" mouse button would sometimes result in a "locked" fast scroll. This could be a software issue, I am not sure.
One thing is for certain, the assembly quality seems to be on the lower side. I reached this conclusion based not only on personal experience, but by reading other customer reviews and comments. Given the high price of this product, I am extremely disappointed, if not angry. This is probably the most expensive keyboard/mouse combo on the market, and one thing Logitech should have made sure is that it is of solid build quality. The product is produced by a Logitech plant in China, by the way.
***Update***
I have now received the replacement diNovo mouse/keyboard, and it's been working fine for 2 months now. The only complaint I have is that F6, F7, F8 keys are REAL stiff and hard to press.
Again, build quality is highly disappointing considering high product price.
On the bright side, I was pleased with Logitech support. They are easy to reach at toll-free number with virtually no waiting times. The replacement product was sent to me in timely manner.

(More customer reviews)I'm in a beginning Spanish class, and I've found that this product is lacking some of the most basic words, for example "salir", one of the most rudimentary words in the Spanish language. I don't know what dictionary they used as a database, but it was missing some very important words. I suggest that anyone considering purchasing a translator as a learning tool spend a few more dollars, and get one that has a more comprehensive dictionary.
