The National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) is an official list of buildings, structures, sites and objects considered by the US government as worthy of preservation for their historical significance. There are four points of criteria for being included on the register, one of which must be met. If the item is tied to an event, it must have made a contribution to a key pattern in American history. If the item is associated with a person, they must be of historical significance. In regards to design and construction, the item must have unique characteristics, have immense artistic value or be the work of a master. The fourth condition is in the potential for providing historical information, or if the item has already provided information on historical events.
