Summer is slowly fading and fall is fast approaching. Much as most of us will miss the lazy days of summer, we also welcome the invigorating days of autumn. My favorite season is fall or autumn. I love the glorious colors of fall as well as the bracing cool of the autumn breeze. In addition, I am partial to layering of clothes which the brisk autumn weather affords. The changing of season opens up the opportunity to do some shopping. Women love to shop, that is a fact, and the changing of seasons is one wonderful excuse to shop some more. This 2011 fall will never disappoint the shopper in you. There are so many new fashion trends that it will make your head spin. The dazzling colors, interesting prints and wide variety of textures make the 2011 fall fashion trends very inspiring and far more exciting than the typical sober and subdued colors of fall fashion trends of the past. Some of the most inspiring 2011 fall fashion trends seen on the runways for this season are:
The minimalist look
After the fuss and excitement of summer outfits, the minimalist
look of this fall is such a relief. The minimalist look is simply
simple. The maxim “less is more” perfectly describes this
inspiring fall fashion trend. Everything is kept to the barest
minimum, color, texture, patterns, even accessories, making this
style very easy to adopt.
Polka dots
Polka dots make this years fall fun and playful. This inspiring
200 gall fashion trend was seen incorporated in most of the
famous designers’ collection for fall 2011.
Back to the 60s
The love for the retro look is here to stay. One inspiring style
for fall is a look back to 60s inspired-outfits, but given some
new angles to make it trendy and up-to-date. Photo Copyright of

The falling leaves of autumn has not began nor has the leaves turn into the most glorious autumn colors but we all know that fall or autumn is just around the corner. All the fashion designers have already put forward their glorious collections for the season. It’s about time you also start thinking of your fall wardrobe. To help you make the crucial decision next time you shop, here are some women must – haves for fall culled from the various offerings of the great fashion houses:
Knitted items
Knitted clothing are one of a woman’s must-haves for Fall.
Knitted clothing items are tops when you need warmth coupled with
style. Missoni, the main maker of designer knit wear, offers a
great collection of gorgeous chunky knit sweaters matched with
furry boots or stilettos and delicate tights or skinny jeans.
Other fashion houses with fabulous knitted items incorporated in
their collections are Chanel, D&G, Michael Kors, Prada, Marc
Jacobs among others.
Boots
Boots are the ideal footwear for the colder seasons. This 2011
one woman’s must-have for fall are boots, but no ordinary boots.
Furry boots and thigh-high boots are the hottest footwear for
women who want to look great and still feel comfortable in the
cold. Furry boots with faux trim in casual or dressier style are
back with a vengeance as a hot item this season. On the other
hand those boots with extremely high shafts called thigh-highs or
above-the-knee boots have always been trendy footwear for women
of style. This season’s thigh-highs are very versatile, easy to
wear and great to be worn with dresses, skirts, jeans or
leggings.
Cloche hats
A cloche hat is a woman’s must-have for fall to pull-off that
vintage look this season. It is an essential accessory to
complete any outfit from the simplest to the most elegant. A
cloche hat was made popular by the Flappers of the 20s. Since
then it has become the finishing touch to any Fall or winter
outfit. Photo Copyright of PR PHOTOS

Boho chic look
The boho look this summer 2011 is more relaxed with a chic and
fashionable twist. It includes a touch of gypsy, ethnic, hippie
and vintage inspired trends that comprises flare pants, swaying
skirts, scoop neck or V-neck tops, comfortable tunics and an
abundance of rich colorful jewelry.
Boho fashion is regarded as a state of mind
rather than merely a fashion trend that will disappear in time.
The bohemian look is layered and earthy, with flowing, loose
fashions and accessories made from untreated materials such as
gauzy cotton or linen, leather, stones or wood. Beads are used as
jewelry or decoration of belts and purses and woven items are a
great favorite. The beauty of boho chic is that nothing needs to
match. Items of clothing should layer well and should work
together to provide that chic and classy look. Some celebrity
fashion icons such as Sienna Miller, Kate Moss, Mischa Barton and
Nicole Richie have endowed the boho chic look with a fresh twist
with glitter, glam and rock.

Retro/Vintage Inspired fashion
The retro/vintage inspired fashion style pay homage to the
fashions of the past. Retro and vintage are often used
interchangeably. But within the vintage clothing industry, there
is a clear distinction between retro and vintage. Vintage refers
to fashion extending from the 1920s to the 1950s while retro
fashion is usually connected with styles of the 60s to the 80s.
Retro/vintage fashion can be easily made contemporary and modern
with the use of accessories. With the re-emergence of bell
bottoms, flared pants, fly collars, tight fitting skirts, block
heels and low-rise pants, retro fashion is very much in
mainstream fashion. Authentic vintage clothing items and
accessories can be found in vintage shops and vintage clothing
store online. But due to the increasing demand for vintage/retro
items, the production of vintage inspired clothing items has
become a growing industry and it is now very ordinary to see
vintage style clothes on the runway. Photo Copyright of PR PHOTOS
Most women go on a denial stage when they start to put on weight, as if acknowledging the fact that their dress size has increased will make them less attractive or beautiful. Wearing too tight dresses or dresses several sizes too small, which they insist are fashionable, is the norm. They feel defensive and totally vulnerable about their augmented hips and waist. Wearing clothes that are almost ripping at the seams is their way of deluding themselves that nothing has changed in their dress size. But plus size is beautiful and any size is sexy! Look at the June 2011 cover of Vogue Italia. The models in the fashion magazine cover are all curvy, sexy and beautiful. They don’t hide their curves, in fact they flaunt them. They exude self-assurance because they know that they look great.
And look at Crystal Renn, Tocarra Jones, Whitney Thompson, Natalie Wakeling, Polyanna McIntosh, Jordan Tesfay, Charlotte Coyle, Magi Yumi Brown and more. These are authentic plus size models with curves a plenty, are truly lovely and ooze sexiness. They are proof that plus size is perfection personified. One thing all these voluptuous ladies have in common is self-confidence and total acceptance of who they are and what they are. Whitney Thompson succinctly said it with this quote “Beauty is acceptance. It’s being kind to other people and accepting yourself”.
It is a great comfort to plus size women that the major fashion designers have seen the light and are now promoting lines for larger sizes. But what would really turn the tide is when well-endowed women will truly accept and embrace their size within themselves and acknowledge the beauty in a plus size. The industry for plus size clothes will thrive and voluptuous women will have more choices of fashionable and smart clothes that will enhance their beauty and show-off their lovely curves to great advantage.
Celebrities are known to look smashing every time they are seen in public. When they walk the red carpet though, they become, not only smashing but also totally alluring. For these events they, more often than not, have the services of the best stylists, hairstylist and makeup artists in the business.
Demi Lovato Makeup Style
Demi Lovato has cornered the market on the wide-eyed innocent beauty that is not actually childish or stripling. There’s a tangible energy in her angelic face enhanced by expert makeup tricks. She is partial to pastels, exquisite eye shadows and gleaming highlighters. To achieve Demi’s very feminine makeup, a flawless complexion is a pre-requisite. You get this by applying a concealer to hide the skin blemishes followed by an illuminating foundation that go well with the skin tone or brush a highlighter across the cheekbones all the way to the temples.

Line the upper lid close to the eyelash with black liquid eyeliner or pencil liner and heavily coat the lashes with mascara. For that innocent blush, brush a pink tone blush across the cheekbones and for the final touch, apply a strawberry colored lip gloss for an innocently sensual lips. Photos Copyright of PR PHOTOS
Even girls that are physically challenged with lack of height can still wear trendy clothes and look great in the latest teen fashion. They may not be as tall as the supermodels that are mock ups for most trendy clothes, but a tweak of the hem of pants and skirts can give a short girl a perfect fit. So finding the perfect fit is not a short girl’s problem, it is looking for the type of clothes that will give them an illusion of height that is tricky. This requires some ingenious fashion techniques and here are some fashion tips to acquire such techniques:
Selena Gomez Fashion Style
Wear monochromatic colors
Wearing one color for the top and bottom, a shirt and pants or a
shirt and skirt will create an elongated and trim line that gives
the illusion of a longer silhouette. A different color for the
top and bottom will cut the visual effect that will make you look
shorter.
Wear darker colors
Darker colors give the illusion of height and also make you
appear leaner. Dark colors are also very sophisticated
particularly when the clothes have a perfect fit and carefully
accessorized.
Keep away from short flared pants
Crop pants, crop jeans, crop trousers, or Capri pants have the
tendency to cut the height and make a person shorter. What would
look good on shorter girls are full length straight pants or
trousers that reach almost cover the shoes. Flared hems on pants
are also bad news for short girls.
Wear high waist pants and skirts
Pants or skirts with a higher waist will give the illusion of
height and will make the legs look longer. A low rise pants will
make a short girl look shorter.
Avoid wide and bulky belts
Wide thick belts break the length of the body. Thinner narrower
belts that are similar in color with the outfit are your best
option if the outfit requires for a belt. Photo Copyright of PR

Summer equals the beach to most young people and this means choosing the best swimwear. Swimwear trends do not really move in the same pace as other fashion trends. Maybe it’s because it is quite difficult to reinvent a bikini or a monikini. Nevertheless, this summer 2011 there are still great swimwear trends to choose from, although most of these are inspired by swimwear fashion styles of the pasts. Check out the following swimwears for 2011 and see if there is anything that appeals to you.
Vintage- motivated swimwear
Some of the features of a vintage-motivated swimwear are:
- Tight – waist one-piece swimwear with halters and sweetheart
neckline
- Bottoms with high waist
- Lively prints such as Hawaiian prints, gingham checks, nautical
themes
- Crunched sides that highlights the hips and waist
- Boy-leg swimwear
Ruffled swimwear
Ruffled swimsuits and ruffled bikinis are very feminine swimwears
that are this summer’s most popular swimwear. There are no
clear-cut style rules that govern ruffled bikinis or ruffled
swimsuits. It is cut and styled in numerous ways for this
summer’s offering.
Crochet swimwear
Crochet swimsuits and crochet bikinis, these are another retro
look in swimwear inspired by the 70s crochet clothing trend that
is not only a swimwear trend for summer 2011 but a real must-have
swimwear this season.
One-shoulder swimwear
A one-shoulder bikini or swimsuit is not exactly a swimwear trend
for summer 2011 but it is such as stylish swimwear that it is
worth wearing one on the beach or in the pool this summer 2011.
Digital patterned swimwear
Digital prints and patterns are everywhere this summer 2011 and
swimwears did not escape this trend. Swimwears in bold digital
prints are hot which is not really a surprise since printed
swimwears were old time favorite.
Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall are two of the leading ladies in the flick Sex and the City that are truly gorgeous. Here you will find the behind the scene makeup secrets to achieve their uber stunning looks in the film.
Sarah Jessica Parker Makeup Style
For “Sex and the City” Sarah Jessica Parker had many and
different looks, but what stands out and is always evident is a
natural look that didn’t appear to be makeup at all. She has that
soft and healthy pink glow on her cheeks, a soft mouth and a
sheer natural skin with a healthy glow to it rather than the
matte look. It was Sarah Jessica Parker’s eyes that were
beautifully highlighted in this natural look she sported in the
movie. But even with the natural look, makeup is still needed.
This is achieved by using a cream blush that could be layered and
blended smoothly. For that clear natural skin, a light foundation
is used that provides the fresh finish. Concealer to hide
blemishes was used only when required. To highlight the eyes,
Sarah Jessica Parker was given a strong but natural lashline and
framed her lustrous eyes with lovely lashes. This very simple
makeup secret gave the heroine Carrie Bradshaw a very natural and
dewy look that most audiences love.
Kim Cattrall Makeup Style
Kim Cattral plays the role of Samantha Jones in this flick Sex
and the City, who moved to Los Angeles and was therefore given a
magnificent healthy bronzed and tanned look all throughout the
movie. Kim Cattral is a natural blond and has a very fair skin.
She was given an overall body makeup to achieve a realistic
California babe look. To avoid the make-up from getting runny and
sticky while filming, Kim used Blot Powder in Medium which
dissolves and lifts oils at the same time leaving a translucent
smooth finish. Photo Copyright of PR PHOTOS
A few extra pounds, a slight bulge on the hips or a love handle
are the bane of women. Most women dream of having a svelte and
slim figure, unfortunately not all women are blessed with a sylph
– like figure. The best that can be done is to
dress in such a way that will cunningly
camouflage these signs of overindulgence or hereditary or genetic
flaws, to create a leaner silhouette and look slim
Here are some tips on how to look slim:

• Find clothes that fit perfectly.
Very loose or baggy clothes will only emphasize what you’re trying to hide and at the same time make you frumpy. This includes bulky sweatshirts and sweaters. Too tight clothes will not make you look thinner. On the other hand, a too tight top and bottom will show the bumps and bulges you want to hide.
• Know your colors
For women with extra pounds to hide, the best colors are dark muted colors such as navy or midnight blue, black, gray, wine, silver, jade, burgundy, cocoa, chocolate brown and cranberry. These colors will not only make you slimmer but have you look taller. Monochromatic colors elongate the body since they give a linear vertical illusion so dress in monochromatic colors from top to bottom, as much as possible solid or without patterns.
• Patterns
The best patterns that will make you slim are vertical stripes, preferably, thin and fine stripes. Diagonal stripes are also good for that smooth and sinuous look. Other patterns are acceptable as long as they are small and if possible overlapping that creates a semblance of one solid color.
• What to avoid
If you want to look slim these are what you have to avoid :
- Pleats on pants, they will make you look bulkier
- Frills, ruffles and frou-frou will add to your size
- Glossy fabrics such as satin and velour
- Horizontal stripes
- Patterned leggings
