My Life as a Transcriptionist

I am a 30 year old mother of two. I love being self-sufficient and self motivated. As a mother of two school going children, I try to inculcate those qualities in my children also. As a home transcriptionist, these qualities with self discipline help me do both the jobs efficiently. I believe I am very well suited for this line of work.

I am a family person. I love being home with my family. As my kids grow I love watching them assert their independence and take decisions. I would not miss it for the world. But their growing up has left me with much more time than before. I have time to pursue my career as a transcriptionist more seriously. The income that I can generate from it works well for me. I feel financially stable. When the kids were small I used to work at nights; I can mange 4 hours during the day now apart from the nights.

The transcription field is vast and challenging. You can select your specialization. Though medical transcription would have paid better, general transcription works well for me because when I started I had no experience and had taken no course. Recently I did an online crash course on general transcription. It gave me a certification that some transcription companies recognize. They pay me a better rate. The course gave me confidence to approach clients in my locality for transcription work too. My income has increased. Transcription at home work fits the bill for me. I see this line of work as one where I can grow and go as far as I set my mind and heart on doing. I intend to go far. I love to learn so much.

Now I have learnt to balance my work and family. With being able to work from home gives me more time with my family. Some advantages I consider of working as a transcriptionist are the flexibility of hours, the opportunity to work at home, a career in transcription, and the feeling of being able to provide for my family. It is such a great feeling to have when you are financially stable.
