Today Timothy Ferriss' 4 Hour Body bestseller was released in the
United Kingdom. Interest in the book has jumped since its release
on 14th December thanks to the appearance of Tim on many of the big
U.S. talk shows (including The View, Dr. Oz). It has shot to #1 on
both the Amazon.com and New York Times bestseller lists within a
month and looks set to sit there comfortably for a while. The goal
of the book is to reveal some of the latest science on our bodies
so that we can take control of them. Become fitter, healthier and
pursue other goals. Does it live up to that goal? As a fitness
professional I can say that for at least 90% of it it does.

Tim Ferriss' new bestselling book on health and fitness the 4-hour
body topped the New York bestsellers list quickly after its launch.
Currently with two books in the top seller's list (the 4 hour work
week is still at #10), he has established himself as a successful
author. The 4 Hour Body is an excellent read, with lots of valuable
information. Lots of people are clearly buying the book (the
bestsellers list are based on sales volume), however that doesn't
always mean that lots of books are getting read. The fate of many
large books is not to get read. It can be quite intimidating to see
a large book on your bedside, and it's easy to put off starting to
read it for another day.

The 4 Hour Body by Tim Ferriss is a recent #1 bestseller on the New
York Times. It is for good reason, because it is one of the best
fitness books to be published in a very long time. It challenges
and overturns many of the largest fitness mistakes people are
making in gyms today. Having said that, there is one mistake that
the book doesn't address in a lot of detail and that has existed
since 1968. In 1968 Dr. Kenneth Cooper invented a new word. The
word was "Aerobics" and for most people it has become synonymous
with becoming fit.

The 4-Hour Body is a groundbreaking book from Tim Ferriss that
contradicts a lot of popularly held beliefs on fitness and health.
Some of these Ferriss uncovered himself, however the vast majority
of the concepts he discusses have been around for decades. The
great achievement of this book is that it is taking some of the
best information from sources such as scientific research,
professional athletes and innovators in medicine and pushing them
to the masses thanks to its rise to the bestseller list on the New
York Times. Now, what is the most important concept it will
popularize?

It was with great expectation that I and many others awaited the
release of the 4 Hour Body. I didn't expect to find a lot of
innovative science or fitness advice in there though, what I did
expect was that Tim Ferriss was about to make public the knowledge
that has been out there but so far to find.

The launch of Timothy Ferriss' book, The 4-Hour Body is an exciting
moment for myself and many other fitness professionals. It offers a
spark of hope to revolutionize and break free from many fitness
practices that are both time wasting and damaging for our health,
but that have become so ingrained in society and the fitness
industry that they have been difficult to move. Tim Ferriss will be
introducing many new approaches to fitness that are for more
effective, safer and efficient in the 4-hour body. The most
important of these include:

For many years people have been chasing fitness. Our focus on
fitness started in the late 1960s when Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper
published a book named "Aerobics". Since that time health and
fitness has become an increasing part of our day to day concerns.
At the same time the health of the average American man and woman
has declined steeply. It seems that even though we hear and read
about health and fitness all day long in the media, on TV, on the
news and from the thousands of diet, fitness and health books - the
situation is just getting worse. The average American is get less
healthy, not more healthy. How is it possible?
