UFC 129 tickets were finally released today, with UFC fight club
members having first crack at purchasing the tickets. The buzz so
far is that tickets are going quickly and will soon be sold out.
Only seats in the 500 level at Rogers Centre are available at this
time, a mere 2 hours after tickets were released. It is because of
this that the UFC is now considering expanding the seating from the
current 42,000 person capacity. The general on sale for UFC 129
tickets to the public is on February 12th and it is expected that a
few more tickets will be available for purchase on this date.
Tickets are expected to sell out almost instantly on this general
onsale date, as the quantity will be very limited
George St-Pierre may be the heavy favorite in UFC 129, but his
victory is far from 100% guaranteed if Jake Shields has anything to
say about it. If St-Pierre is able to defeat Shields at UFC 129
many have speculated that this would lead to a superfight between
GSP and Middleweight champion Anderson Silva. The Toronto bout
between St-pierre and Shields is scheduled to take place at Rogers
Centre on April 30th. "I think it's a big mistake to overlook me
because I plan on coming out and spoiling that fight" quoted
Shields, as he shows that GSP better not be looking too far ahead
of things as he will be a tough opponent. George St-Pierre is not
looking too far ahead of himself and says that his biggest concern
now is defeated Jake Shields at UFC 129. UFC fans can't help to be
excited to see the possibility of a GSP vs Anderson Silva bout.
St-Pierre and Silva are both in the prime of their careers and such
a fight would be history in the making. The superfight could
finally lead to an answer to the question of who, pound for pound,
is currently the greatest MMA fighter.
Having the UFC in Toronto has come a very long way from just a few
months ago. It was only six months ago when MMA was still banned in
Ontario and not sanctioned by the province. A press conference for
the massive UFC event was held today, gaining the coverage of two
national sportscasting networks. UFC 129 promises to be the biggest
MMA event ever held in North America. Canadian Talent will be in
abundance for the UFC Toronto event. UFC 129 will also feature Mark
Hominick, as he fights for the featherweight championship. UFC 129
has eight Canadian fighters scheduled to fight in the event.
Premium seating may appear to be unattainable for the event at this
point, but there are ways to still secure these great seats. The
ever growing secondary market for tickets can provide a means to
get great seats for the event, sites such as Ebay and Stubhub are a
great place to start. A second option to obtain tickets is to
purchase tickets off of a Canadian Ticket Broker. This is perhaps
the best and cheapest way to obtain great seats to the big UFC
event in Toronto. One good Canadian broker for purchasing tickets
to UFC 129 is www.ufc129tickets.ca. Their full UFC 129 inventory is
