the buzz surrounding the HBO hit-series Game Of Thrones, and it
sounds like something you’d totally watch, but you’re a season
behind the current action. Also, you’re intimidated by all the
media coverage of the series that describes the series as dense,
complex, rich with dozens of characters, and filled with
countless settings. Don’t be intimidated! The series is much more
approachable than critics would have you think, and it’s
definitely worth your time to watch.

Now a days in Hollywood book to movie adaptions are almost as
dangerous as video game adaptions. Most of them are negatively
recieved from frustrated fans because of changes and elemantions
of certain aspects of the book, and I have to admit to being one
of them. Well in recent months I've become a huge fan of The
Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins, and the film adaption
has made it's way to one of my most anticipated films. And
now it's arrived, and while it's no Harry Potter, it's also
no Twilight, and it's probably one of the most faithful book
adaptions we've seen yet.

With Hollywood remaking so many movies now, almost none of the
classics are safe, and 1987's RoboCop is no exception. The reboot
has had many rumored faces attached to it's leading role,
including Chris Pine (Star Trek), Russell Crowe (Gladiator), and
Michael Fassbender (X-Men First Class). Now, Scottish actor Joel
Kinnaman's name can be added to the long list of contenders
for our future Robocop.

There was a time just a few months ago where it seemed that Gore
Verbenski's The Longer Ranger film (Which has been in
development hell since way back in 2002) was going to suffer
another set back and be delayed, due to an over
expensive budget of $250 million dollars. But now it seems that
the film is back on track (With a much more resonable budget I
assume), and it's next big move has been replacing country singer
Dwight Yoakam for William Fichtner as the title villain.

Recently between the release of Tarsem Singh's Immortals, and the
upcoming sequel Wrath of the Titans, movie about humans in Greek
mythology seems to be more popular than movies about the gods
themselves. And now comes another one from X-Men: The Last Stand
director Brett Ratner, based on the graphic novel Hercules: The
Tharcian Wars, and The Rock himself is being eyed for the
starring role.

Darren Aronofsky didn't turn down
the X-Men Origins: Wolverine sequel The Wolverine for nothing,
and that something was the biblical epic Noah, based on a comic
book Aronofsky wrote himself. After Christian Bale was recently
rumored for the part, it's now official that he has passed on the
offer and Aronofsky is now eyeing Michael Fassbender to take his
place.

Guest post by James. If you want to guest post too, see the
requirements here. America remakes British TV shows all
the time. Usually, badly. But every once in awhile they get it
right, like with The Office, All in the Family, or (dare I say
it) Three’s Company. (By the way, you had no idea Three’s Company
was originally a UK show called “Man About the House,” did you?)
But since I’m a big sci-fi fan, and an even bigger Doctor Who
fan, I thought it would be fun to recreate The Doctor in America,
casting a show that is as American as The Doctor is British.

Director Zack Snyder has always been known for his over the top
slow motion action scenes, as can be seen in his previous films
Sucker Punch, Watchmen, and 300. Now it seems he's bringing this
specialty to The Man of Steel, with the latest set pics of a
helicopter rescue scene. We've also got some major spoilers of
the film, giving away the films' climax and some of the
characters real perspectives on things.

With the recent publicity on Steve Jobs, it was only a matter of
time before Apple head Steve Jobs got his own movie, and now it's
finally going into action after his passing just two weeks ago.
And sure enough, none other than Moneyball and The Social Network
scribe Aaron Sorkin is being eyed to write a the film adaption of
the Walter Isaacson's best selling biography 'Steve Jobs'.

After being in on and off development hell, the American live
action remake of the famous eighties Japanese manga 'Akira' is
finally in the works, and names such as Garrett Hedlund, Gary
Oldman, and Helena Bonham Carter are already being rumored to
star. But the real question is whether or not this is final, and
whether Warner Bros. will take the fans into consideration and at
least give some Asian actors a look?

It seems that after many rumored candidates such as
Christopher Nolan and Michael Bay, Cloverfield and Let Me In
director Matt Reeves has been confirmed as the director of the
new Twilight Zone film, based off of the
popular nineteen fifties series, and the nineteen
eighties series, and that two thousand three series, and the
eighties film. Yeah, let's just say this isn't the first time
Twilight Zone is reincarnated.

Well it seems Real Steel director Shawn Levy's plate has just
gotten fuller, because now he can add the Pinocchio prequel 'The
Three Misfortunes of Geppetto' to his list which includes a
possible sequel to Real Steel, a remake of The Fantastic
Voyage, a new Frankenstein adaption, and a promised
action movie for Hugh Jackman. Talk about a busy schedule.

Well fans of the popular Marvel comic won't have to wait any
longer, because now they can finally see Iron Man, Captain
America, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Nick Fury side by
side fending off evil. If you had your doubts about the Avengers,

The Simpsons is arguably the most successful adult animated
program of all time, and whether you much rather watch Family Guy
or South Park instead, there's no rejecting that the Simpsons
started it all. Well it seems Simpsons' fans won't have to say
goodbye to Homer and the gang just yet, after contract
negotiations between Fox and the show's voice cast almost put it
in jeopardy, the Simpson's has pulled through for two more
seasons.

Once again, a comic book movie is hitting the big screen this
summer, and it's closing off what has been a pretty impressive
run for most comic book movies this summer. Now one of Marvel's
most interesting and patriotic superhero's is getting it's chance
at reeling in audience members world wide, but is Captain America
a strong solo establishment for a beloved character, or just
another forced movie made to set up the Avengers?
