(More customer reviews)I invested in this Sunforce 44447 900W Wind Turbine for a small house in a wind zone. With some help I installed the windmill (I was corrected several times - they're called "wind turbines") - it was very simple. Installing the tower kit is where the time is, because sliding on the turbine and installing the blades is easy. This is a quiet windmill. This 74 pound turbine has only 3 moving parts so it is unlikely to break down. It came with a 5-year warranty. It starts up at about 7.5 mph wind speed and it's working fine! You should get the Sunforce Tower Kit with it, and it will be 30 to 33 feet high. You also need batteries to store the power.
The current price at the time of this review, about $2,200 is a better than what I paid to own it. I paid just over $2,600 early in the year and that was the very best price available at the time, without free shipping and from H.D. Thus the current price is excellent, probably the best price compared to buying it from another vendor, and compares favorably versus similar Gamesa, Enercon and GE Energy turbines because I checked. But make sure you get the manufacturer's 5-year warranty.
With a maximum power of 900 Watts at best, this turbine is not going to be adequate to power an entire big house. It is recommended for a "cottage" or "cabin." But it's great backup power nevertheless, and as long as there is a wind speed average of 12 mph or better, there's no worry about it paying for itself. This experience made me more confident about wind turbines and I'm thinking next time to go with the Sunforce 44490 if that price hits my sweet spot. That one is more expensive but gets higher output at lower wind speeds and delivers twice the output of this one. Still, you can't beat this price for the Sunforce 44447, a wind turbine that will last a long time no matter the weather and give you an early breakeven point.
To determine whether it was a good idea to invest in wind power, I had to first make sure the location has enough wind. It's recommended that you have at least a 9 mph average wind speed at your house, and there are websites where you can check this. You have to have a radius of about 250 feet to accommodate your tower and make sure there aren't any laws against your putting up a tower. Regulations can be a little complicated, for example some states require easement rights to inspect your windmill (turbine!) whenever they want.
It's also a great idea to check with your utility company to find out if their policy is to connect a renewable energy system to the electrical grid, and they vary a lot in this regard. I am looking forward to the day when we get a federal law that requires power companies to buy excess renewable energy under conditions where it is a public good. The more of us that get wind turbines, the stronger our case will be, so I love to see those wind turbines go up. Until then one has to think more about battery storage and letting the system shut down once the batteries are fully charged in most states. If your utility company doesn't have a dedicated individual to deal with grid-connection requests, you can try contacting the state utility consumer advocate group or the state energy authority.

On GE FA(s) you can detect all leaks at LCI crank speed including gas piping/flanges as well air piping/flanges (leaks far too small to feel with your hand or detect with a test rag). For those of you familiar with FA(s), this leak detector is sensitive enough to detect leaks on the PM4 gas header and the PM4 fuel header to fuel nozzle piping/flange at LCI crank speed (no gas in operation and the quad orifice installed on the fuel nozzle). In short, you will not have to start the unit on gas which of course means you want have to heat the unit up to detect leaks on gas or air piping. Which also means you will not have to go through a fired start, a cool down or incur the costs of restart(s) to locate/repair leaks. As a Sr. Corporate Engineer I have purchased these units for each of our sites and as a former GE Gas/Steam Turbine Project Manager/Sr. Field Engineer customers were very happy that I was able to locate and fix all leaks on their unit before a fired start was incurred on Gas Turbines especially on FA(s).
The unit can also detect electrical corona and valve leak-by. With the pod emitter, you can detect pressure vessel/tank leaks before a hydro. Many more uses also. Well worth the money for industrial, automotive and home applications.

Low cost slide hammer with almost every attachment you can think of. Case keeps it all organized.
Cons: Comes with only one thread set for pulling threaded holes (pull dowels). Others can easily be added by purchasing bolts and washers of appropriate size from your hardware store. Professional pullers often have a coupler slot for the threaded pullers. You must remove a nut cap to install the bolt. Not terribly convenient.
Conclusions: For occasional use, it is great and I'm glad I bought it. If I were using it every day, I'd get a high priced set.

If only they would have used more thicker Styrofoam. It wouldn't have been damaged. The mfr packed it with thin Styrofoam. Amazon had it for half of the list price and free shipping so I gave Amazon a break and didn't return it. For my next cabinet purchase, I'm buying locally...
The ball baring drawers roll out smoothly though. A lot better than the glide drawers I had before.

I was hoping that this product would save my aging pump (it did not) but I did notice increased performance and longer time before it overheated. So, this marine grease is effective at reducing friction. This is a rather big tube (almost the size of a caulking tube) and should last a long time.

But the steep price wasn't a fit for my tool box budget. $320 for a small/intermediate size chest??? All I could think about was the tool(s) I could buy with that money. I kept tabs on the item and all of the sudden the price started to come down and over the span of about two days the price went from $320 to $250 to $175 to $133 and finally down to $113 where I quickly snapped it up. It is SOOO worth it at that price. So set a price alert for the Beta toolbox and maybe you'll get it at the same price leaving you the extra dough for more tools to go in it.

(More customer reviews)I was pleased with the quality of this tool for the money. Nothing fancy but well constructed and should last forever. The handle is a soft rubbery vinyl that has a nice shape and feel in the hand but is not bonded to the slide hammer. The vinyl tends to move around a lot when you are using the hammer which is not a big deal and may actually take some of the impact stress off of the tool holding hand. My concern is that if you try to pick up the tool by this handle the vinyl tends to slide off of the metal and could cause you to loose or drop the tool unexpectedly; and the hammer is heavy enough that it could cause significant damage. Even thought the tool has a loop hole in the vinyl handle for hanging, I would NEVER hang even the rod without the hammer in fear that the vinyl handle would slide off. I specifically bought this tool for its thread size, 5/8"-18, which is what I needed for my wheel bearing puller set. I have not used the dent pulling accessories which are supplied with the tool. They are well constructed and look to be made from high quality steel and should hold up and work well for small dent pulling on your vehicle. It would be nice to have a blow molded case available for storing the tool and accessories. I think that I will make a pouch from canvas or some other sturdy cloth to house keep the tool and parts together for easy storage and so that the bits and pieces don't get misplaced. If you need a medium weight hammer this is a good one and you will be pleased. Shipping was very quick through Amazon seller.

If you are comfortable working on your your own engine, you can rebuild your transmission as well. The included directions are designed for experienced rebuilders so the Haynes GM transmission manual is a helpful resource, with lots of pictures and step by step instructions. GM Automatic Transmission Overhaul (Haynes Manuals)
Various resources I've found on the web mentioned several specialty tools you may need. I discovered I only needed one, and it's a must have; the KDT2398 Automatic Transmission Clutch Spring Compressor
I rebuilt mine as I had time, but all told I spent about 20 hours on it, from dropping it out of the truck to final install. If I had gotten the book when I ordered the kit instead of 3/4 of the way through rebuilding I doubt it would have taken that long to do. Take your time and do the checks they recommend and you'll have a solid transmission and bragging rights that you did it yourself! There are several web sites out there that will help with any questions you may have. Just use 700r4 as your keyword search.
