(More customer reviews)I would recommend this product to anyone who has anything to do with charcoal or oil pastels in the artistic world. I've taken classes that incorporate these media and without such, transportation of artwork can and will be compromised. Also it's really easy to make a mess with these fine residues. I found this matte to dry quickly and not alter any colors. It also protected my artwork from cover sheets used in transportation. A little difficult to find, it is well worth the money.

(More customer reviews)Prismacolor pencils are well-known for their range in rich colors and vibrant laydown, setting them apart from any other type of colored pencil.
I've tried them myself and I agree. The lead is wonderfully soft, and therefore makes blending colors and pushing them into one another an ease to do.
The downside is that the lead is a little too soft, and makes it harder to get the colors smooth (it's easier to do with Crayola because Crayola has harder lead). It can be done, however, and these are great pencils that especially go well with Prismacolor markers. :)

(More customer reviews)First of all, the guy above who was dissatified, you can't use a reg. pencil sharpener to sharpen Prisma's, becuase what happened to you, will happen. Prismacolor pencils come w/ a special sharpener just for these pencils. Inside the box it explains why you can't use a reg. sharpener on these pencils.
As for my review, I draw tattoos. Every tattoo artist i've ever talked too all use Prismacolor Pencils, and all have rave reviews... I didn't believe them until 1 of the tattoo artists let me try out his set. After i tried his out for a few hours (cuase i was that happy w/ them), i had to have my own set. Once i went Prismacolor, i never went back to the crappy crayolas i was using before. Crayola differs from Prisma becuase most pencils in your store are chalk-based, while prisma's are oil based... They blend like paint..
These are the greatest pencils i've ever seen and used. Though they are expensive, it's well worth it.. It's better to buy a bigger set, like starting out w/ the 48 color set or more.

(More customer reviews)I LOVE Prismacolor markers! I am an artist and pediatric OT. I use these markers in both lines of work. I like these markers because they have the properties of many mediums. I use them like watercolors, colored pencils and regular markers. Unlike most markers, you can layer the colors. The colors are rich and range from very deep to quite pale. It is hard to find markers that have pale hues. I recommend making a color chart before using them, so that you get an accurate sense of the colors.

Prismacolor Art Markers- Set of 156 Colors Review

(More customer reviews)I recently bought the whole 156 marker set on a splurge, and I love them. I am not an artist and am just using these to color. The prices here are less than half of what you might pay retail though, so this is a good place to get more than what you might normally be able to afford.
I took up coloring recently while recovering from an illness, and I was using Crayola and then another brand of markers. They dried out fast and didn't provide even coverage, and most of the markers did not have sharp tips. I heard these were good and tried a small pack from a store, and really liked these.
These do not dry out in use (I've never left one uncapped, but while doing a large area, I've never had the amount of ink flowing from the marker diminish), they provide smooth, even coverage - enough so that you can't even see the edges overlap when it dries, and you can add a second layer for a deeper effect. Plus you have four different edges, from a sharp point to a really wide point for filling in large areas.
There are a wide range of colors, including pastels, which I had begun to think didn't exist. There are even skin tones, something I couldn't find in the water based markers. All of the colors are rich looking.
I am just really impressed with these markers and having a lot of fun with them.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this set of markers for some storyboarding and found them to be really quite excellent. The ink flow is consistent without blobbing extra ink. I found that I could make smooth, even strokes with ease and the fact that you can flip the markers around for a thin or wide marks makes these really simple to use. In fact, I liked these markers so well I purchased another set of 48 to use on some 'color' projects.

(More customer reviews)I was completely blown away by these pens when I first found them...the colours are vibrant and they blend beautifully - and they're just so pleasurable to use! BUT they fade really badly in sunlight. When I noticed that the lilac in one of my pictures was fading and turning pink I made a test sheet of all the colours I owned and left it in the sun, covering half of each colour with card so I would be able to see the difference. I was shocked by how much some of the colours faded in just a couple of weeks. By the time two or three months had passed all the colours except black had faded very obviously. I now feel I have no choice but to keep my prismacolor marker artwork in the dark, even though it's some of my best work!

(More customer reviews)These markers are a great price, along with the other Prismacolor items found on Amazon. I live in Canada, and these markers were shipped to me much faster than i had thought. The quality of the markers are exactly as i had hoped: the different shades of grey and the different sizes of ends are awesome, easy and fun to use. I work with many different mediums in art, and i'm glad that there are 3 black markers in the box because i use them for many other art projects. Also, soon after i got this, i went to a Michaels arts and crafts store and saw the exact same markers on a shelf, there was one box left for over 80 dollars...So yeah these markers are pretty sweet.

(More customer reviews)These Prisma color Markers are really great . . . worth the extra buck$. I require colors to be permanent & waterproof in the artwork that I do. Bic & Sharpie markers are handy to carry around on the go but you just cannot do better than Prisma Color. Each 2-ended marker offers several width options. Plenty of stock colors to choose from. Value-wise . . . this complete set is the best way to go.
*** I don't care much for the rack. ***
Personally, I just want the markers in a plastic/lucite box. I arrange them in rows by color families. Maybe offering the set of markers without the rack would keep the price down a bit for the buyer.
Otherwise, as you can tell, they are my favorite markers.

(More customer reviews)As far as the markers go I give those five stars, wide color range, the double end allows one to draw 4 different lines & Prisma uses a low odor alcohol as solvent, so they don't have the harmful stink of old type markers. But I have to say the prices charged by all Amazon sellers for them are very high compared to other online art companies.
