The other day I was flipping the channels (which I rarely do), and there was a scene from “Dumb and Dumber” where Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels were making their grand entrance into the Charity Ball…

… wearing an orange and blue tuxedos, with matching top hats and canes in their hands.

And on top of that they arrived in a horse carriage.

If you haven’t seen the movie, just imagine these 2 guys in orange and blue tux, waltzing into a black tie event.

That would draw some attention right?

UNLESS…

… everyone else was wearing bright colour clothes as well, which would make them blend in and completely unnoticeable. Mentoring

And that got me thinking, it’s a lot like our industry.

Everyone’s doing the same thing.

Well, almost everyone.

 

I think it’s the number #1 enemy to your success in this biz.

And it can be summed up in one word…

… SAMENESS..

Or as one big marketer calls it – “Marketing Incest”.

Let’s face it; there are a huge number of people in our business.

And with the explosion of the Internet over the last few years, every company under the sun has a flashy website, with the same type of videos virtually all saying the same thing, selling the dream and all the other shenanigans.

I’m not against that.

But where does that leave YOU?

What makes YOU different then all the other people your prospects have to choose from?

That was the problem with the old school model.

Everyone pretty much had the same type of pitch to invite people to a “business overview” a.k.a. “opportunity meeting” online.

So How Do You Break Through The Sea Of Monotony In Our Marketplace And Become The Go To Person?

How do you make your business the obvious choice for your prospects?

There’s one word that can help you do that.

Are you ready?

Here we go.

Be UNIQUE!

Don’t say the same thing everyone else in your business says.

You need to stick out like a sore thumb.

And no I’m not talking about wearing an orange tux and looking silly. Although that might work too :-)

What I’m saying is be DIFFERENT..

     Be UNIQUE.

People are desperate for someone to come into their life and lead them to where they want to go.

And when you POSITION yourself as that person…

… the one who can identify with their fears and frustrations and can give them hope to achieve their dreams…

… you gain INSTANT credibility as an expert and the go to guy or gal for business advice.

Instead of chasing people and screaming at the top of your lungs that you’ve got the best deal online and why they need to get in now…

… you start to magnetically attract new people into your business like a porch light attracts a swarm of bugs!

As a matter of fact, you don’t even need to sell them so much on your business, because they start seeking you out.

And the best way to do it is…

… be yourself.

Ok, I was with you up until this last part, what do you mean be yourself?

Glad you asked.

In studying lots of successful people in our business, I came to the conclusion that all of them, without exception were about providing lots of value….

…automatically positioning them as THE EXPERT.

They weren’t trying to be like anyone else.

Best way to do it?.

Start a blog, post your thoughts, ideas, and provide value by giving great advice to others.

What happens is people start to identify with you and see YOU as a valuable resource.

You gain trust, authority, and expert status.

You become a leader others are naturally attracted to.

The moment you step in those shoes, the tables are turned in your favours.

Now wouldn’t that be a great position to be in?.

However, don’t you just love the word however, you always know there something more to figure out when you read it, building a blog like this from scratch takes a great deal of work and if you are new to online marketing you’ll spend most of your energy learning all the technical stuff.

Getting the crediablity from Google, meaning getting recognised by the search engines as being an authority site on your subject matter takes many many months, I know I’ve had this blog for a while now.

My advice, do what the successful people do, do what I should have done last year, leverage a blogging platform that already has high credibility with the search engines.

Everyone Has a Buy Button – Here’s How To Find It Part Two


In part one of Everyone Has A Buy Button I talked about Patrick Renreus and Christopher Morin book ‘Neuromarketing’ and how they tell us in that everyone has a buy button and the first thing a marketer has to do is to test for three things.

The first was to test for a pain, the second condition was to test for is the intensity of the pain and the third condition to test for is to find out how urgent buybuttonthe person is to get rid of the pain.

So having done that now we move on to the next step, and that next step is to differentiate your claims.  The key here is to make claims that eliminate the strongest pain that your prospect has.

That’s what we’ll and motivate them to join you in your business.

After that the next step is to demonstrate the claim your value proposition isn’t enough.  The old brain needs proof, so if the pain in his lack of cash and your claim is not your prospect can make extra cash in your opportunity then simply saying this is not enough you need to prove it.

Either through your results or by sharing them your uplines results, why?  Researchers have found that the old brain is especially resistant to adopting new ideas and behaviours.

Especially when making extra money is concerned and the only way to get over this is with tangible hard evidence.

Now here are four ways to do just that:

  1. Provide a vision, what is your vision of the future if your prospect joins you? This is perhaps the last one you want to try.
  2.  Showed data to prove your claim, for example join them sponsor two people, help them sponsor two and then they are sponsor to each you’ll be earning XYZ. This is getting better.
  3. You can get your prospect to one of your life events, perhaps a month to showcase the people in your company get a radical iced for achieving in the company’s marketing plan. This will work.
  4. Lastly you can go give the ultimate proof, show your income, your lifestyle, and show proof of your success. This is the winner.

If you have only just got started it’s best to get your prospect to one of your events, where they can see others being recognised for their achievement.  You could introduce your prospect to your success for offline as well.

The next step is to deliver to the old brain, remembering the formula, this is the most important factor in the equation.  So if you are going to take anything on board from this post then make it this step.

There are six message building blocks and seven message boosting blocks and I am going to go over the most important ones here, to get all of them your need to go and buy the book.

Building blog number one is the grabber, if you ever started off the presentation with who you are, with your background or an overview of your company then you will need to start over.  Remember to start with the fire start with the pain.

Building block number two is using pictures, the visual nerve Carries information 40 times faster than the auditory nerve.  Use of big picture is to tap into the old brain but lets clear up something right away here a PowerPoint slides with bullet points and text is not a visual aid.

In fact you to number one is wording, as it turns out for you and beings listen better when people talk to us by the rather than at us, why?  Because nobody cares about you take care about themselves, a study done at Yale University has shown that the most powerful combination of words in the English language are:

Thank you, would you please, what do you think, and I am proud of you.

Impact Booster Number Four Emotion, prospects forget how painful their problems are, re-enact their pain and make it personal.

Remember the formula:

Join Probability = Pain x Claim x Gain x (Old Brain)³

Find the pain, find out how intense the pain is, and then find out how urgent it is for your prospect to get rid of the pain and you’ll get more success in your business. It’s well worth buying the book as I can’t really get the points across as well as those two experts.

Everyone Has a Buy Button – Here’s How To Find It Part One


What weighs 6 kg and has 100 billion living cells and 100 kilometres of interconnecting fibre? The answer is: Your brain.

Every single decision to purchase the product from the room or join your team is made by one.  I recently read Patrick Renreus and Christopher MorinBuyButton book ‘Neuromarketing’ and in it they tell us in that everyone has a buy button. Here’s what I learned.

Everyone has three brains, three distinct parts that operate separate organs and different structures.  Each of them has a separate purpose and understanding what each one of them does is the key to finding the buy button.

The new brain thinks the middle brain feels the old brain decides.  The old frame is our fight or flight brain that is only concerned with our survival.  It’s been doing that for millions of years.

If you’ve ever had a prospect in front of you and you were sure they were ready to sign up with you but they didn’t them here is the formula to make sure that does not happen again.

Patrick and Christopher have developed a formula to work all of this out, I’ve put it into context here for us Network Marketers, so here it is:

Join Probability = Pain x Claim x Gain x (Old Brain)³

So first of all we need to diagnose the pain, now this isn’t a new technique but what other people leave out of the equation is that there are actually four conditions to test for whether a pain will lead to a signup or not.

The first condition to test for is obvious; you need to identify the pain.  It’s either going to be a financial pain, or a strategic pain or a personal pain.  Any one of those would do and this is where a mere mortal stops.

You however, are an amazing sponsoring machine and you are going to go much further.

The second condition to test for  is to figure out the intensity of the pain, the more intense the pain the greater the chance of the sign-up.

The third condition to test for is you want to determine how urgent the need to alleviate the pain is.  Are there other more burning fires that your prospect needs to put out before they consider your opportunity?

If there is there isn’t going to be much urgency there to sign up.  Perhaps this could be that they just lost their job or their car is in desperate need of repair, anything like this will affect your prospects choice of joining you today.

The fourth condition to test for and this one is key, you need to know that your prospects acknowledges the pain.  It isn’t good enough for you to see that they are in pain, they have to acknowledge it.

For this reason most people will say no to the question do you want to make some extra money?  Most of us will not admit that we have to.  So if you don’t have all four of the conditions you don’t have real pain.

In a recent webinar David Woods explained why he launched the Empowered Network and he revealed his true vision for the Empower Network.

David explained that the Empower Network has people who are with hundreds of different Network Marketing companies and some of those people are TheEmpowerNetworkvery successful in their company.

These people have generated thousands of dollars in commissions on top of their Network Marketing Companies’ cheques and on top of all that they have also created thousands of leads through the system.

David really has a big vision for the Empower Network and believes his core philosophy is different than any other online system.

What the Empower Network is designed to be is an educational platform for their members who have an existing business and to be a funded proposal so that marketers can actually pay for their marketing and enable them to scale up their business.

David added that in addition to that they are also here for those who want the Empower Network to be their primary income stream and enable them to create a massive sustainable income.

David said, “We can do things that have never been done because we are willing to take steps that no one has ever taken. I believe the Empower Network is able to grow into a system that has hundreds of thousands of active members because they have the ability to get people money i.e. commissions to 173 countries and I really believe that we have the ability to grow these massive following in all of those countries. I believe that we can make people more money as affiliates than they could earn in any other system out there that pays affiliate commissions”.

He continued “I truly believe we can, in fact, pay more commissions then any other affiliate company on the Internet.”

He explained that there is a difference between a funded proposal and attraction marketing.  The Empower Network has attracted a lot of people from a niche that is kind of a supper niche of the Network Marketing industry and it’s called the attraction marketing niche.

There is of course a lot of value in attraction marketing but attraction marketing has some problems.  It has had some problems that cause people a tremendous amount of pain in their business and in their life. It has some things that are a little bit manipulative and that causes behaviour that seems a little deceptive out there in the marketplace.

One example of this is that it seems that when people get started with Attraction Marketing they pretend to be someone that they are not.  Everyone is trying to be an expert, the message is sort of ‘Fake It Until You Make It’, and pretend you are a guru.

The problem with that type of message is that if you are not a guru and when you pretend to be, you’re actually lying.

There is nothing wrong with being confident, there is nothing wrong with learning to be a guru and learning to have a higher level of skills but to ‘Fake It Until You Make It’, is lying, well that’s not a good message to put out there.

Look being a guru and doing it all yourself, creating products and all the other stuff that goes with it, is very costly and you got to have a lot of knowledge and it takes a lot of time and effort.

People who are part time don’t have the time to do it, most people just don’t have the time to do it, most people don’t even have the time to learn the skills to do it and most people don’t know how to sell well enough to make it work.

So most people spend their time in systems, tools and companies where you’re putting your own energy and your own creativity into getting really bad returns. People are getting 20% or 30% commissions, which the gurus know really doesn’t pay for a good advertising budget.

So people are stuck grinding, that’s the truth of it.  That’s the struggle of the industry online.  That’s the pain, because the more that people are earning from their products sales, because they have to earn affiliate commissions, because the incomes that earn from their network marketing Commissions initially doesn’t pay for the time they put into their marketing.

You see when the gurus go out there and put together a marketing campaign they earn 100% commissions on everything they sell.  That’s the difference, doing the same with 20 or 30% just doesn’t add up.  It doesn’t work.

David tells us to ask yourself this one important question: “I wonder how much more money I could make and how fast I could make it if I had 100% commissions and not 20 or 30%.

His answer is: “It is like going through the pain barrier in a long run, it’s like going from struggling to being able to make as much money as you want from your marketing.”

So coming back to the question what is the empower network designed to do.  First is designed to be a funded proposal and in the funded proposal the Empower Network has paid out more in three months in affiliate commissions than some of the other funded proposal system have done in a year.

That’s the main mission of the company, it was started to be a funded proposal system, a system that has a front end, that has the up front money, the upfront cash for running a business and to enable people to be able to sustain growing a business and to be able to scale out their business and re-invest some of their profits, so that they can scale out their business, with more advertisements and actually gain traction not in three, four or five months time but they can do it in a few weeks.

So what’s the second real purpose here? It’s something that David learned a long time ago, it’s a difference that he learned that transformed his recruiting in his Network Marketing Company.

David said here’s what happened, when I first got started marketing on the Internet I did that by calling leads, well not really leads, I was putting out advert on Craig List and calling the people who were answering those adverts.

I would call them and try to recruit them into my Network Marketing Business.  I kept calling and calling and it actually worked. In the first month I’ve recruited fifteen people into my Network Marketing Business.

But I was on the phone day and night talking with people.  The commission’s for recruiting those 15 people were not that high, so I though why spend spent time and energy all month and only recruit 15 people in a whole month and only make a grand total of $900.

It was painful and then I stumble across the industry of attraction marketing, and I also actually started calling the leads that I generated with attraction marketing and try to sponsor them into my business.

It worked well, I sponsored another fifteen people the next month by applying some of the skills I learnt and by just working all day and all night.

But it took me way too much work, way to much rejection, to really get any decent results.  But then I made another discovery, if I could sell something on the front end that had a low cost and instead of talking to leads, I could talk to a customer, then I found that everybody I talk to as a customer, all of them, bought something.

Everyone bought something, it was unbelievable, I went from a one in ten conversion in selling something to a nine in ten conversion rate, which was phenomenal and this dramatically changed my income.

So how did I do that?  Well, I learnt a traffic generating skill that got several leads coming into my funnel every day and by making a product sale, a low cost products sale, on the front end and rather than phoning 10 to 15 leads every day I was calling two to three customers a day.

What I found was that every single time, without fail, if I put more energy into the front end marketing to get those two or three customers, then those two and three conversions would outsell 15 or 20 or 30 conversions from someone who wasn’t a customer.

That’s the value of a funded proposal and that’s the way the Empower Network has been structured, it’s been structured to help you sell something on the front end and then up sell on the backend.

Social Buzz Club Content Syndication – But Is It Of Use For Network Marketers?


Yesterday I visited the recently upgraded Content Syndication Site Social Buzz Club and in this article I’m going to be addressing the question: is it of use for Network Marketers? I wanted to give a true account of the site so I did not just use the SocialBuzzClubFree version but signed up for a one month subscription.

Social Buzz is the brainchild of CEO Kathryn Rose and she says it’s the first of its kind however; there are a number of other well established Content Syndication sites out there.

For example there is Tribepro.com, the UnifiedTribe.com and the Empowernetwork.com, well the Empower Network is not truly a content syndication site but I’ll still keep it in here as it will serve for comparison purposes.

Let’s look at visitor numbers and Google Page rank first. The table below lists Google Page Rank, Daily Visitors (5 March 2012) and Alexa Traffic Rank in the World and in the USA.

Although Social Buzz Club has a page rank of three its daily visitor and Alexa Rankings are pretty low compared to Tribe Pro.

What’s also very important in any Content Syndication is that your articles are shared across a number of social platforms. The Social Buzz Club shares with Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Digg only.

TribePro on the other hand lets you share through OnlyWire and all the built in social networks there. There are a massive forty seven services to choose from making it a great option. In addition tot his TribePro offers automatic sharing through OnlyWire a very handy little piece of kit.

Having said all that there is another big factor that is against Social Buzz Club and that is there are really no other Network Marketers using it. This could mean that you could be sharing other peoples content but your content simply may not be shared as widely.

One area where the Social Buzz Club is cost per month, their subscription is only $9.97 per month whereas Tribepro is $39.97. Both have a free membership level but with no Network Marketers using the former it will probably be difficult to get the syndication level that TribePro can give you.

In conclusion then I would say stay away from the Social Buzz Club as TribePro is in all ways the better alternative.

Most People Commit Fraud When They Join Network Marketing


That’s a pretty serious headline I know so do most people really commit fraud when they join Network Marketing? Well, according to wikipedia.org fraud is:

“An intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual”.

An intentional deception made for personal gain, that’s the fraud here, when the majority of people join Network Marketing they do so because of the NetworkMarketingFraudmoney that they can earn.

I was one of them. In the middle of 1996 I saw my first Network Marketing presentation in a hotel.  I was sat with about twenty five others and a man in a suit was going through a slideshow presentation.

Then at the end he drew that first circle, you know what I mean, the one with YOU written in the middle of it. He then went on to draw the second row of circles, five this time, then next to those circles he wrote the number 5. Underneath the five, twenty five, then one hundred and twenty five, then six hundred and twenty five, then he added all those numbers up and said that’s seven hundred and eighty people, yet you only found five.

Well I was blown away I had never seen such a perfect way to create wealth on this planet, how many of you can indentify with that? You must have all been there, either in a meeting like the one I described or nowadays perhaps on a webinar.

I thought I can do that, I can FIND five people, in fact I knew those five people already, I was going to be rich. Think back to when you were there; think back, because here’s where the fraud usually starts.

People look for people to join them in their business and find them so that they can make money, so that they can have all those things that they dream about. Finding them is not enough.  Remember the definition of fraud “An intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual”.

Ignore the last part but the deception is definitely the part of fraud that is being committed here, most people, and my initial thinking was exactly this, go out there and contact their friends and family, contact their work colleague, their acquaintances, contact the people they do business with, with one intention. To sponsor them into their business to make money, and that’s the fraud, they go out there and talk about their opportunity with one thought in their head:

Find five people and I’m going to make a fortune.

They don’t go out there thinking I’m going to sponsor my brother Pete and help HIM to make a fortune in Network Marketing; they go out and sponsor Pete with the intention to make a fortune from Pete’s work.

Is this really an intentional deception? The short answer is probably not. As in the majority of cases  most people don’t really know at this stage, that the only way to get what you want in life is to help enough other people get what they want.

The real fraud here is, or the real law that is being broken here is the fundamental law of the universe which states:

The whole purpose in life is to create a happy, peaceful, joyous life for everyone you touch and for you, in that order.

That’s the fundamental Law of Attraction that governs all we do in our lives, so when we come from a place of sponsoring people to make money it’s going to end in failure.

When we come from a place of sponsoring people to help them create a happy peaceful joyous life then it’s going to end in success.

Rule Number Ten in How To Create Content That Will Transform Your Online Marketing is: Creating Wings And Roots. This is a extension of rule number Bloggingnine and includes three main tips for success.

Make your content findable, accessible and sharable, to make your content findable create content that gets crawled by the search engines and includes terms your target audience would likely be searching for.

This is where most people start when they get blogging, that’s where I started, not realising that it’s only one step in many. SEO is a different subject but if you speak human and include your target audiences search terms you’ll do just fine.

To make your content accessible you want to make sure it can be viewed on different devices and on different browsers, for example not everyone uses a PC some use a MAC or an iPad, can they access your content? Can I access your content on my iPhone?

Lastly to make sure your content is sharable you should be sure to include buttons that allow people to share it easily from your blog. A like button, a Tweet button and an email button should be the minimum.

Being able to share your content to Facebook, LinkedIn, twitter and others with a click of a button is the best solution.

Rule Number Eleven: Play To Your Strengths. Finally when you are creating your content try not to do everything at once.

Pick on thing that you know you can do very well and stick with it. If you write well stick with it, if you create great videos stick with it, no matter how many people seem to be doing the same as you, just stick with it for at least a year.

In concussion, there you have it everything you need in order to get started in the world of producing content and becoming a publisher yourself, do this well and you’ll be on your way to becoming a great online network marketer.
