Poor Credit Car Loans

Question by Lil Ole Me: Poor credit used car loans?
We want to buy a used car, but our credit score is about 560, so we can’t go through our bank. I’ve been looking around online but the ones I’ve found want you to go through pre-selected dealers. We’ve already found a great car, exactly what we want, for an UNBEATABLE price. Does anyone know of a reputable company I can get a loan through, that will allow me to buy from ANY dealer, instead of their ridiculously overpriced lots?

(I can’t finance through the dealer that the van is with because he only does financing for people with EXCELLENT credit, which, unfortunately, we do not have)
We can’t use HSBC, as they are one of the accounts we’ve got in collections. I’m currently awaiting a reply for a settlement offer with them. I am expecting a high interest rate, which is fine, I understand that we made mistakes, but they were mistakes that could not have been avoided. We didn’t go out and buy things we wanted, we went out and bought food and toilet paper! We’re now back on our feet and all of our collections are old, like from 2004 and 2005, and we’re climbing out of the hole slowly, but in the meantime, we need a reliable car. We live in a very rural area and there is no public transportation whatsoever, no taxi service either, so not having a car is not an option, or else we cannot continue to work.

Answer by timothy ppoor credit will limit your choices of companies dramatically. You will be stuck with sub-prime lenders and there is really no way around this. Have you tried HSBC or any of the other sub-prime companies? Expect a very high rate with that score.

I thought there were places that would do my taxes, see what my refund calculates out to, and give me a check the same day and then have my actual refund directly deposited to them (the company) so there was no need to do credit checks, etc., but every place I’ve found so far processes tax refund advances like an actual loan where they perform a credit check and charge interest. Is there any place that will give me my refund right away without the hassle of a credit check? I know for sure I won’t be approved for any type of “loan” and I need the money fast!!! The money you make it random, but put it this way.. scrolls are 50 coins each, eggs are 400-500 each, and you can get 1 – 6 eggs per scroll… thats a profit of up to 3000 coins for 1 cast… you work out the rest because it is up to you how fast you can go.

I am currently finishing up my junior year of college at a 4 year university pursuing my degree in Criminal Justice. Because time is flying so fast for me these days I know that before I know it, my summer will be over and so will my senior year and I am going to needing to be planning for post graduation. I have put a lot of thought into the things I want to do in life and they really go beyond what most people consider enough to be satisfied. Originally graduating with the degree in CJ and becoming a police officer (if given the opportunity) for several (3 or so minimum) years by requirement before wanting to work for the government (FBI or DEA mostly, but keeping my future options open). But I also realized that these types of organizations are very selective and only want those who they know are dedicated and have different experiences from the average citizen. I feel like this would aid my future endeavors as well as fulfill my feelings about joining after college irregardless of what the government may look for in candidates. Before I even went to college I thought about joining the military but not sure under which branch (Marine Corp. or U.S. Army). Either way it turned out college was the route I wanted because an education was very important to me and the coercion of society to go to college after you graduate high school wasn’t easy to push away. But now I have now really thought about doing this after I graduate…

This is not because of money or anything like that, I will have virtually no student loans or debt by the time I graduate because I am fortunate enough. I am doing it for myself.
So I ask– pertaining to my degree specifically (if possible) what exactly are the benefits of me joining after college? What sort of path would it be practical to take? I understand that you can get into officer positions more quickly yes, a bit better pay maybe. But I am sort of looking for a time line and outcome of being in there for x amount of years and if after what it would be like to come back into the “real world” (if you want to call it that) and get a job pertaining to my degree and having the opportunity to maybe work for the government in the future as a part of my own dream.

Sorry that this is a long read, but it’s really hard to convey my feelings/question without giving some background. All answers are appreciated ahead of time.

Answer by JillianWell the thing that sucks about joining the military now is that because of the war there’s a high chance you could get deployed overseas.

However, the cool thing about joining the military after college is that you can enter as an officer, which is something you can’t do if you don’t have a bachelors degree.

I don’t know specifically if you’re given some sort of edge if you’ve been in the miltary and you’re pursing a job in the criminal justice field, but being a veteran, or even retired gives you great benefits and priveledges that last your entire lifetime.
