Hi all, PBH has run for over 10 years as a great place to get and share information about Colombia. Unfortunately, during the last few years, there has been a (very) small minority of people who thought it was ok to personally attack, threaten and harass, both on phb, on other websites and in real life, other members that they disagree with. You know who you are. So the time has come to close the site down. I want to sincerely thank all of you who have contributed during the years, answered questions, helped out people, formed friendships etc., and especially thank the moderators and everyone else who has helped out to make PBH work for as long as it did. The archives will stay up for a while to help out people searching for information, but from now on, and with a sad feeling in my heart, this website is permanently closed.

Anyone going to Sky Blue Bar in Armenia (opp portal/ sao) in the north keep an account of the beers you drink, or do not run up a tab and pay at the end of the night, as the rip people off, Last night they tried to overcharge us 25mil, and when we asked to see the bill, all we were told was we don't do bills, we told them where to go and walked out, did they try to call the police as I asked them to, NO. I have since found out from others, that this is an old scam of theirs,sometimes they try to get a late comer to pay the bill away from the group, Thats one less pub for me to drink in,

Hello all, sorry, no pictures (I know I know). I've got a couple of good sized rooms available in a nice apartment in a really nice area of La Macarena. The larger room costs 500.000/month and the (slightly) smaller room costs 450.000/month. The rooms are unfurnished. There is 1 bathroom to be shared among the 3 large rooms and there's also the bathroom in el cuarto de servicio, which is off the kitchen. I'm in the process of furnishing the apartment; ideally would share those costs with my roommates. I've already bought a fridge (no freezer) and microwave. The apartment is spacious, beautiful and has wood floors throughout. I'm looking for quality renters (no weird or too loud people, creeps, or non-payers), preferably 4 months minimum, but may be able to work something out for shorter term. I would require references. Honestly this is a steal for the right person. I'm expecting to absorb significantly more costs than my renters, not to mention the not inconsiderable hassle of renting in the first place. Hello there, I'm interested in opening a bar here in Cartagena.. More like a Cafe actually. I was wondering where to go to get all the needed licenses and if there is a way around the non smoking indoors law! smoking is goood, we have been doing it for thousands of years! hehe

Just a little FYI! I know there are several good hostels in La Candelaria but I would like to put Martinik Hostal on the list as well. I got a dorm bed (only 4 to this room) for 20,000 a night and one of the 4 owners, Marian (I think) was an absolute angel. You will fall in love with her during your stay. The group of hostelers that were there were smokers (no surprise) but we all had a good time. We played the game, Ranas, for several hours and then they all went clubbing. The next morning, Marian asked me if I was interested in chipping in 10,000 for a BBQ. It sounded great but I wanted a private room so I went to another hostel. Anyway, one of the ladies there had her money and passport stolen at the feria on Saturday and was going to be there for a while, as you can imagine. Marian let her stay and even loaned her money to help her out during her troubles. I was impressed by her concern for other people. The address is Carrera 4 #11-88 en La Candelaria. My wife and I are going back to visit her family in Bucaramanga for a month next January. As part of our holiday, we are going to go to Cartagena for a week, I was wondering if anybody had ever travelled the road from Bucaramanga - Cartagena? I know the road goes through Aquachica and I just wondered if it was safe. I have heard that it is either fine, or alternatively others have said it is dangerous - all very confusing really! I would be really grateful for any advice. At least I am coming back to Colombia after 18 months back in the UK - I can't wait!!!
