In order to select the right “Drop In” bed liner for your truck, you must ask yourself a couple of questions. What exactly is it that I want a bed liner to do? Is it to protect your truck from dents and scratches from any cargo that you may haul? If that is the case then you will want to go with a bed liner that will not cause any scratching, so that rules out any 1 piece universal type bed liner (as they are well known to cause the trucks finish to wear off leaving no protection).
Your best bet is going to be a 5 piece bed liner system, that type of bed liner will give you incredible truck and cargo protection. A five piece bed liner gains the ability of having each panel follow the exact contour of the trucks sheet metal. The properties of layering actually provide more strength together than calculating them separately. The Side Walls as well as the Zero Skid Bed Mat are tremendous at soaking up the impact of extreme cargo, by spreading the impact over a much greater surface area the Dual Liner is able to provide the best scratch and the best dent protection in the industry.
The Dual Liner Side Walls are made out of one of the toughest materials, polyethylene. Each specific year, make, and model of truck requires a specific mold to be made to produce the exact fitting panels. These molds are incredibly expensive, but Dual Liner justifies the cost by being able to offer the best bed liner protection in the industry. Near the bottom of each of the Side Panels there is a channel molded into itself, this channel is what holds the Zero Skid Bed Mat in place. This keeps the Bed Mat from sliding around. On the underside of the Zero Skid Bed Mat there is hundreds of soft rubber cleats molded into the mat, these cleats are what keeps the mat from laying flat on the trucks finish. This not only keeps the trucks finish in impeccable condition but also allows water to flow freely to the factory designed drain holes. The Zero Skid Bed Mat is made from a really high grade rubber that keeps the mat very pliable for many, many years.
It doesn’t matter if you have a new truck or a older truck, Dual Liner fits most full size trucks going back to the 90′s. If there is a deteriorated “Spray On” bed liner in your truck, the Dual Liner usually fits right over top. Get Your truck the best dent protection, the best scratch protection and the best cargo protection.
A truck is some what a tool, people use it in many different ways. On thing that most truck owners do very similarly is transport heavy, dirty, and big cargo. When you buy a new truck, one of the most popular accessories for your truck is a Bed Liner. Over the years there have been many attempts at creating a permanent bed liner that offers good dent protection, scratch, and cargo protection. Most “Spray On” type liners provide only limited amounts of dent and scratch protection. Also “Spray Ons” are typically the most expensive bed liner available.
Several of my Buddies that have “Spray On” bed liners in their truck appear to be scared to put anything in the box. For instance, I had just put the Dual Liner in my truck, when I had a buddy ask me to help him load up an engine block. I just assumed it would be into his truck, but no, he said the engine block would surely destroy his “Spray On.” So we set it in the back of my truck on the Zero Skid bed mat, the engine block did not move an inch and also cushioned the ride from damaging humps and bumps. He did pay for the gas, and what a great way to test out the Dual Liner.
We accidentally tested out the properties of the Zero Skid Bed Mat, before we dropped the engine off, a deer came out of nowhere and crossed about 10 feet in front of my bumper. I hit the brakes very hard, actually as hard as I could and thanks goodness I stopped in time and thank goodness that the engine didn’t come crashing into the cab, if we took my buddies truck I am pretty sure that we would have been dodging a 650 pound block of metal, really. His bed liner is very hard and when you set another hard object on it, it becomes very slippery.
Soon after that occasion, my Buddy asked me several questions about the Dual Liner, that is until he order on for himself. I guess he talked with the factory and they told him that he easily could fit it right over the “Spray On” bed liner. I think that the 650 pounds of flying metal made him realize what was really important. The sidewalls of the Dual Liner are made from tough Polyethylene, so if cargo does strike the sidewall you are not going to get a dent. Near the bottom of these side panels there is a channel built into it, this channel holds the Zero Skid Bed Mat in place. This Zero Skid Mat is like no other in the industry, it is made from high grade rubber which gives it the tacky or sticky properties. On the underside of this mat there is hundreds of rubber cleats to keep the mat from laying flat on the trucks finish, this allows an air space between the bed mat and the trucks sheet metal. The rubber cleats allow water to drain out of the factory designed drain wholes.
If you want to be able to use your truck, no matter what the cargo is, take it from me (and now my buddy) the Dual Liner is the best bed liner for you. The Dual Liner not only save my truck from serious harm, it prevented the engine from causing injuries to me and my buddy. Don’t Be Afraid To Use Your Trucks Bed Liner, Get The Dual Liner Today!
In order to create the Perfect bed liner, Dual Liner had to take a close look at each and every bed liner that is in the market today. Their goal was to develop a bed liner that provided the best protection with out all the draw backs of the bed liners that are currently available on the market today. There quest to make the “Perfect Bed Liner” was a success, by utilizing components from both the “Drop In” bed liner as well as the conventional “Rubber Floor Mat.”
The sidewalls are made from similar technology as the drop in bed liner, the difference is what elevates this new bed liner to the highest level of protection ever offered. The old drop in bed liners were a one piece universal application that was well known for shifting around in the back of the truck as you were driving. One of the improvements to this type of bed liner was making it into a multiple piece system that each panel fit exactly to the contour of the specific make and model of truck, the other improvement was to utilize the rubber mat to cover the bed and hold it in place with a channel that was built into each of the sidewall pieces.
The technology behind the Zero-Skid floor was derived from the rubber bed mat. Rubber soaks up impacts to prevent dents. With both plastic liners and bed mats, part of the way they protect from dents is by spreading impact hits over a larger surface area. Hit the plastic or rubber and the impact force gets distributed over a much wide area, instead of being concentrated at one specific point. That’s why you get few if any dents under plastic liners or rubber mats. Dual Liner’s Zero Skid bed mat is a full 3/8ths of an inch thick, scratches cannot get past the rubber. The rubber itself is very hard to scratch for one thing and it is nearly impossible to cut through thick rubber mat to the metal beneath. That means any possible scratches and scrape marks also get soaked up by the material of the bed liner before making it to the trucks bed itself.
The sidewall pieces as well as the mats go in easy and slip out in a minute. That means the mat and sidewalls can be stored out of the truck and only put in when needed, if that is what you prefer. In addition, if heavy use does damage a mat, the rubber has memory and it will only take a moment for it to “bounce” back into it’s original shape. Water often causes severe damage to truck beds because of it universal fit, this allows dirt and debris to plug up the drain holes. Water would pool out of sight underneath the one piece plastic liners and if the bed liner has been in the truck for any length of time, it is likely that the trucks finish has already been compromised. The pools of water, if undetected, lead to rust and corrosion. Standard bed mats would also trap water under neath because they laid directly on the sheet metal, Dual Liner took care of both of these fault’s by raising the Zero Skid mat up off from the trucks bed with hundreds of rubber cleats built on the underside. This created an airspace between the mat and the trucks bed to breath freely. This also provides an excellent channel for water to drain out, utilizing all of the factory designated drain holes.
The Dual Liner Bed Liner System’s offer real value too, since the purchase price is much less than any other premium bed liner. For nearly half of what a spray on liner costs, you can get a premium Zero Skid mat and tough polyethylene sidewalls that installs in just minutes and protects your truck much better. Since the Dual Liner offers so much more protection at such a low cost, it just makes good sense to use a 5 piece component bed liner over a more expensive liner. The Zero Skid Mat offers, by far the most cargo protection by serving as a cushion as well as an apparatus to keep the cargo from sliding around, preventing your cargo from sliding into the sides of the trucks box. This keeps your cargo from getting damaged as a result of crashing into one of the sides as well as keeping your trucks box free of dents from this kind of impact too.
Dual Liner’s Combination Bed Liner or Combo Bed Liner affords you the best protection. Protect your trucks box with the only bed liner that combines the latest advances in bed liner technology. Dual Liner Truck Bed Liners, “Real Truck Bed Protection!”
At some point, almost every truck owner stands at a crossroads — whether to buy a drop in bed liner or a spray on bed liner. What some people think is a small decision will determine how your truck ages, how you are able to use the bed of your truck and how it will look for years to come.
A drop-in truck bed liner is like a hard plastic protective case for a cell phone but for your truck bed. A spray-on truck bed liner is a airtight, watertight sealant that is applied to your truck bed with high pressure. Both Bed liners will serve a purpose it’s up to you to decide which one will work best for you.
The Internet is full of articles that talk about the pros and cons of a drop-in bedliner and a spray-on bedliner. That’s why we created a list of three cases to help you think about what you really need in a truck bed liner. Read through them to learn which option might best fit your truck and your planned use for the bed liner.
1. I buy a new truck every few years
Best Choice Drop-In Bedliner: If you are a new
truck owner every few years it might be a good idea to go with a
drop-in bedliner over a spray-on bedliner. A spray-on bed liner
is permanent and may appeal to you at the time it might not apel
to the person that will be buying your truck. Also A drop-in
bedliner can be pulled right out and in most cases put right in
your new truck so you don’t have to buy a new bedliner every few
years as well.
2. I do a lot of off roading in the sand and dirt
Best Choice Spray-On Bedliner: Sand and water can get
into the tiny gap between your truck and the drop-in liner. Sand
may grind away the paint underneath. Water can gather and
possibly lead to corrosion. A spray-on liner prevents this
problem by forming a virtually impenetrable bond with your truck.
Sand and water won’t have anywhere to hide
3. Transporting heavy or sharp objects
Best Choice Drop-In Bedliner: Spray-on liners are
extremely tough, but they tend to be thinner than drop-in
options. Heavy or sharp objects can cause gouges or scratches in
your liner that might be better protected by the thicker drop-in
option. Keep in mind, it’s possible to break a drop-in bed liner,
but the force required is significant.
After reading through a few instances you will be the best judge of what will work best for you and your truck. Bed liner manufacturers and weather it be a drop-ins or spray-ins they are constantly changing there bed liners to adapt to new needs of a truck bed liner buyer. we encourage you to research all options.
Installation
One of the first
disadvantages of a spray-on truck bed liner is
installation. Drop-in liners are very easy to install. A
spray-on truck bed liner usually needs to be installed by a
professional. Also, the installer has to grind
the factory paint off the truck bed in order to
install the spray-on liner. In addition to that most of the
time it takes 36 to 48 hours to install and
fully cure before you new bed liner is ready for use
leaving you with out your truck for a few days.
Removal
One of the next disadvantages
of a spray-on truck bed liner deals with removal. Drop-in
liners can be removed anytime you need to. This isn’t the
case with the spray-on variety. A spray-on truck bed liner
can’t be removed once it has been installed you are stuck
with it well you own the truck. In some very expensive
cases it has been done. Where someone grinds off the
spray-on bedliner and has the truck bed repainted at the
factory but that can cost thousands of dollars. So when
buying a spray-on truck bed liner remember it will be with
you for the life of your truck.
Thickness
Another disadvantage of the
spray-on truck bed liner is its thickness. Drop-in liners
are made of thick and rigid materials. Therefore, they will
better protect your truck bed from dents and scratches.
Since the spray-on truck bed liner is not
as thick, it will only protect against minor dents and
scratches. Spray-on truck bed liners are great for light
loads but if you need to do some heavy hauling I would
stick with a good thick drop in truck bed liner.
Skidding
One of the next biggest
problems and disadvantages of a spray-on truck bed
liner deals with skidding. Drop-in liners provide more skid
resistance. There is even a drop in bed liner on the
market called the dualliner that has a zero skid 3/8”
thick rubber mat. The daulliner is especially
useful when hauling cargo that you want to keep from moving
around while you’re driving. A spray-on truck bed liner
will be less effective for keeping this cargo in place and
it may cause damage to your truck. In most cases a spray on
truck bed liner acts like a launch pad for your cargo.
Heat/UV Rays
One of the final
disadvantages of the spray-on truck bed liner deals with
heat and UV rays. The surface of the liner will get sticky
when it is exposed to extreme heat and UV rays. You may not
want to haul certain items on your truck when your spray-on
truck bed liner gets sticky like this. Over time your spray
on truck bed liner will break down from the heat and UV
rays and start to peel, fade, crack and even chip away. To
avoid heat and UV ray problems look into something like a
dualliner truck bed liner they are made to withstand high
heat and UV damage unlike a spray on bed liner.
Would you trust your life in the hands of a spray on bed liner installer?
When you decide to have a spray on bed liner installed you are handing your trucks fate to an installer. He decides the fate of your truck whether he realizes it or not. The process of installing a spray in bed liner is a critical process that determines not only the life of the truck but the performance and usability. To install a spray on here is the process.
Watch this Video to see the preparation process. Click to view video.
1. Chemical etch. This is the lowest quality preparation method. It is inherently inconsistent, which means the liner material won’t adhere to the bed uniformly…and will scrape/peel off after the fact. If an installer says they use a chemical etch process exclusively, walk away.
2. Scotchbrite scuff prep. This is the most common form of surface preparation, and most Line-X and Rhino installers rely upon this method. If done correctly, scuffing the original bed surface will help the the liner material bond completely. The quality of this prep process is dictated by the experience of the person doing the prep work…which is why you want to work with the best installer possible.
3. Hand sand block. In some ways, this is a step above the scothbrite prep process, except that it’s still very much dependent on the experience of the person doing the sanding.
How do you prep the vehicles? The best answer is “power sanding” and the worst answer is “chemical etch.”
Do you use a cold application process or a hot application process? Unless you want a tacky, rubbery surface, a hot application process is the way to go. In fact, most Rhino liner installers have moved away from the cold application process.
How long does your prep process take? Longer is usually better. Many Line-X and Rhino dealers can scotchbrite a pickup bed in 15 mins…but power-sanding a bed takes the better part of an hour. There’s also the time needed to remove add ons installed in the bed, misc. bolts, etc., and then re-install. Most good installers need 2 hours minimum from beginning to end, and some will need 3 or 4.
How long have you been in business? Longer is better. Rhino and Line-X both require their installers to honor many aspects of the warranty, which means installers are financially responsible for their mistakes. Bad installers tend to go out of business after a few years because they can’t afford to fix all their mistakes.
Can I see your shop? Good installers tend to have clean, well-organized shops. They can’t afford to have a lot of dust and dirt around because that will contaminate their sprays. A good spray-in liner shop will be proud to show off their facility.
You can do all this work or you could choose to put in a bed liner that is not a Life sentence. The Dual Liner bed liner is made in a state of the art facility and each bed liner that is produced meets the same high standards. Dual Liner bed liner systems will not have devastating effects due to the installer. This bed liner is installed by you for your truck. Nobody loves your truck the way you do. Also the installation can be done by you in less than 30 minutes in most cases. Dual Liner also offers the best paint protection, the best dent protection and the best cargo protection in the industry. Who are you going to trust to make sure that your truck is taken care of the way that you would want it taken care of? You or some guy? I don’t think that your are going to hop up in your trucks bed and grind the finish off nor would anybody who truly is aware of this destructive method. Take care of your truck and get a bed liner that your truck will thank you for. Dual Liner truck bed liner systems.
There are many options for truck bed liners on the market today. Every type of truck bed liner has advantages, but each has disadvantages too. Here are comparisons of your options.
Spray-On Liners
Very popular with truck owners because they give such a great
look when new. Also the fact that they are a custom fit truck bed
liner. Custom fit truck bed liners are nice because if you have a
older model truck it can be hard to find a truck bed liner that
will fit your truck bed. Spray liners are made of really high
quality multi-part paint coatings that include lots of rubbery
texture. There coating can certainly be damaged. That damage can
only be repairable by respraying which can be very expensive.
Look out for the other really big disadvantage. It’s high price
is what makes this truck bed liner less attractive.
One Piece Drop-In Liners
Thick plastic truck bed liners offer better impact protection over the spray-on truck bedliner. Plus the hard plastic liner material stops any chance of scratching the bed too. A few things you will really want to look out for with these Drop-in liners are that they are one piece so they are not custom fit to your truck. They are more of a one size fits all over time the liner rubbing against your truck bed can wear off your factory paint and cause rust.
Carpet Rugs
Carpet rugs are good if you haul precious cargo and want your
truck bed to act more like a truck of a car.
These usually work best underneath a tonneau cover or bed cap.
That’s because the carpets can’t take harsh weather. They offer a
luxury look and feel and are far less expensive than a spray on
truck bed liner.
Rubber Mats
When it comes to truck bed protection the rubber mat is often
over looked. But it is a cheap alternative to the other
options on the market today. The rubber mat takes on
just about any hit scratch potential underneath the
mat. There are a few disadvantages with the truck bed mat you
only get protection on the bottom of the truck bed not any
protection on the side walls, tail gate, or front of the truck
bed. In most cases people use these with other truck bed liners.
Do It Yourself Truck Bed Liners
There are many types of roll on type bed liners on the market
today. If you take the time to find the right one and take all
the steps that need to happen to apply the bed liner in some
cases it can look almost as good as a spray-on bed liner. You can
make a old truck bed look almost new again for very cheap. The
downside is the protection offered by these liners they
are much less than the professional grade truck bed liners.
That’s because the is much thinner and with a professional grade
spray-on the coating is a high pressure hot coating that coat the
truck bed alot better than a do it your self kit can offer.
Dualliner Truck
Bed Liner
The Dualliner truck bed liner is one of the toughest most cost
effective truck bed liner on the market today. It is the only bed
liner on the market that offer Real Truck Bed Protection with a 5
piece interlocking component set that has 4 very hard
polypropylene walls, load guard and tail gate protector all fits
together with a 3/8” zero skid rubber floor mat. To top it off
the dualliner ships to your door so you never have to leave your
house and installs in minutes giving you the best of every bed
liner on the market today there truly is no other bed liner like
it.
When it comes to your truck bed it is very important that you get some type of truck bed liner to make sure your truck bed stays looking new day after day and load after load.
What kind of things are “they” talking about? One prime example is “Pick Up Trucks”. The state of Texas has 10% of the trucks that are sold in the nation are sold inside the state of Texas. Nearly 30% of all vehicles in Texas are trucks. It is clear to see that Texans prefer to drive trucks, along with owning a truck comes taking care of it. The number 1 truck accessory purchased to protect their truck is a bed liner. Bed liners today come in many different styles. Bedlinersintexas.com is all about which bed liner is the best. What we were looking for is which bed liner system protected the finish of your truck bed the best? Which bed liner protected your truck against dents the best? Which bed liner protected your cargo while in the bed the best?
There was only one bed liner that really protected you truck finish from long term use. Spray ons destroy the trucks finish to acquire adhesion of the chemicals, they use hand held air grinders to “rough up” the finish. We felt that a bed liner really should protect the finish not destroy it, over time this could lead to rusting if the bedliner cracked or chipped away. The drop ins cause major finish damage over time because they shift/vibrate back and forth. Where ever the drop in came into contact with the trucks bed, it showed signs of wear. If these wear marks are left untreated, they will eventually rust. These results are shocking to us, I mean what are you getting a bed liner for? I thought the answer was simple, to protect your truck, right? The Dual Liner was the only bed liner that actually provided inclusive finish protection. It kept your trucks finish in excellent condition especially when installed when the truck was new.
Both the drop in bed liner and the Dual Liner offered great dent protection. The spray on bed liner really lacked any significant amount of dent protection. The drop in bed liner offered dent protection for the truck but again was very harmful to the trucks finish. The Dual Liner offered great protection for the sidewalls. The dual liner floor is a 3/8ths inch thick Zero-Skid mat that would absorb even the most severe damage from cargo, even boulders. Unlike the drop in the boulders would stay where ever you put them in the Dual Liner, the drop in worked more like a curling facility than a bed liner.
We do not think that cargo protection was even a consideration when the spray ons and the were designed. Both of these bed liner are really hard, which if you are carrying something hard like a cinder block or an antique piece of furniture will slide around like it is on a slip-N-slide. The Dual Liner keeps your stuff in place almost like fly paper, to keep it from sliding back and forth. When your cargo slides around you risk damaging your truck as well as the cargo itself. I have seen more trucks with bowed out load guard (the front section up against the cab) and or a bowed out tailgate, and guess what kind of bed liner is in those trucks? A drop in or a spray on.
The bed liner market has been considered confusing for years, most truck manufacturers will not even try to figure it out. This is why we decided to get involved in it, we knew that there was significant interest in bed liners as the top truck accessory pretty much since truck were invented. Dual Liner takes the prize for being exactly what most people are looking for in a bed liner. Dual Liner knows how important your truck is to you and your family. It protects the trucks finish, preserving it for years to come. It keeps your trucks bed dent free while it adds a sleek look to the trucks bed. Dual Liner also knows how important your cargo is as well, you might just need to haul something that has a tremendous amount of value to you, you do not want to risk it getting damaged by your truck bed liner. Dual Liner is what you would expect a bed liner to be, “A Real Truck bed Protection System”
Dualliner Truck Bed Liner Systems is one of the only true bed liners that ships to your door and installs in minutes. After going to dualliners website I ordered my dualliner truck bed liner it was to my house in just a few days. It was shipped by UPS and came right to my door and had everything in the box I needed to install my new dualliner truck bed liner. In the box were four hard plastic polypropylene pieces two side pieces one load guard and one tail gate protector and a very thick 3/8” rubber Zero skid mat. I could not believe how even more durable this bed liner was in person, pictures definitely don’t do it justice. Also in the box was a packet with an Instructional DVD, push pins to keep the pieces in place, and a small packet of rust preventive. Now I was ready to install my dualliner. First I snap the front load-guard into place, which snapped into place very easy, and fit very nice. Second I fastened the left and right side walls into place, using the push pins and interlocking them to the front load-guard. Third, I rolled the 3/8” zero skid thick rubber mat into place, it tucks into a channel built into the two side walls and the front load-guard. Now I am ready to install the tail gate protector by taking the bolts out that hold the latch into place, then I reinstall the latch over top of the tail gate protector, holding the tail gate protector into place.
After I have done these easy steps I was done in 15 minutes I could not believe it. When it comes to installing a dualliner there is not much to it they make it easy for anyone to install in just minutes. I cant believe that the bed liner that protects my truck against dents and scratches the best, is also the easiest to install. The Dual Liner Bed Liner System is the only bed liner on the market that truly preserves my trucks box, without altering your truck in negative or permanent way.
