Question by neuro_07: Travelling from the Buffalo
airport (U.S. side) to the niagara falls hotels (U.S.
side)?
Hi..I am planning to travel to Niagara fall. I made a reservation
to the Buffalo airport and a hotel on the U.S. side ( I am not
planning to go to the canadian side). I was wondering if anyone
could suggest any mode of transportation from airport to hotel
besides car rental or cab. The hotel failed to provide me any
useful suggestions..and all the airport to hotel shuttles I could
find are on the canadian side.
Can some one provide the links (weblinks) or phone numbers of
services regarding above? Appreciate your help!

Answer by CharlieI think you will have to use a taxi…only solution I found there. Or change hotels and find one with a shuttle service. Also, you MUST go to the Canadian side…it is the best, and there are many things to do there. You do NOT need a passport to walk or take a bus or cab across the bridge…just a certified copy of your birth certificate and a go’t issued I.D. like a driver’s license. Really…do not miss the Canadian side! There are shuttle and bus services that make the rounds of the hotels and pick up people to go to the Canadian side. Find a hotel where one of these services comes every day so you can use it. Also, consider staying on the Canadian side…I found that to be much better. It will add greatly to your trip.

Yearly, over 5,000,000 passengers go through the Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF) in upstate New York. Buffalo Airport parking is available on-site in 3 parking lots and in a short-term parking facility found within reach from the terminal. If you’re flying out of BUF Airport from Ontario to other cities in the U.S., this parking reference should come in handy.
Parking is relatively uncomplicated at this mid-sized airport in contrast to the various crowded airports in New York City, for instance. The following are some of your Buffalo Airport parking choices:
Parking at the Airport
On-site, the airport offers four categories for parking: Short-Term, Preferred Long-Term, Long-Term A, and Long-Term B parking options. Let’s look at the specifics of these offers.
Covered Short-Term parking (look for the red signs) at BUF, like in many other airports, is the most convenient facility. It’s right there at the garage located just next to the Terminal. At per hour, this solution is best for those on a quick trip to the airport to drop-off or pick up a passenger. At daily maximum, this isn’t the best choice naturally, if you’re leaving for a weeklong trip.
Preferred Long-Term parking (designated by green signs) is one more convenient option at BUF Airport. It’s found not far away from the parking building close to the terminal and at about half the short-term daily rate, it’s more budget-friendly. If you’re going on a 3-5 days trip, this Buffalo Airport parking option may be just right for you.
Long-Term parking A lot (orange signs, daily rate is ) situated to the east of the Short-Term and Preferred Long-Term facilities while Long-Term parking B lot ( maximum rate per day, designated by blue-colored signs) is situated a bit farther across the runway along Holtz Drive. The two economy lots are serviced by frequently-running shuttle vehicles that can take you to and from the terminal in just a few minutes. Discounts for weekly parking are available in both locations: Long-Term parking B has a weekly maximum charge while A has a weekly maximum of .
Outside Parking
For those interested in parking solutions outside the airport, a number of remote facilities do provide their services to BUF travelers. A perfect example of these is the FastTrack lot along Genesee Street which offers parking fees equivalent to BUF’s on-site Long-Term parking B. Yet another possible parking alternative is the Airport Valet parking lot also on Genesee Street. The fee here is less expensive than at the airport’s Long-Term lot, and may certainly be suitable if your purpose is to save on parking bills.
Buffalo Airport parking is not really difficult in any way but if you’re driving from any location in Canada that’s hours away from the airport, it’s a great strategy to have a good night rest and be completely ready for the next day’s departure. This is where airport hotel parking might be the perfect alternative. Certain Buffalo hotels in the area provide very good ‘Park, Stay, and Fly’ deals. At Millennium Hotel Buffalo for instance, it’s possible to obtain a room starting at 9 (suitable for up to 4 people) before or following your trip, and have the option to park for at the hotel for up to 15 days.
As you can see, there are quite a few Buffalo Airport parking alternatives for you. Parking here isn’t difficult but it might be a good gameplan to reserve your parking in advance of your planned departure, some lots do get full notably during the holidays.

April 6th Return from Japan. Parking lot snow and sleet mixed.
The last time I sang that song with a group of people was over 50
years ago. I was a little boy and my family, along with a group
of people from our little farming community in Israel, was going
to the Mediterranean Sea for a day at the beach. We were all in
the back of a truck, having a good time. The song, in Hebrew, was
Hevenu Shalom Alechem. Translated, the words mean we bring peace
to everyone. The song only has three words. They are repeated in
different rhythms and at different speeds. When it is sung in a
group, with much enthusiasm, there is simply an electrifying
feeling that it engenders. So, there I was last evening at the
Chicago airport on my way to a speaking engagement across the
Canadian border from Buffalo, New York. I was working on my
laptop when I saw two men close by who appeared to be brothers. I
suddenly realized that they were speaking my native Hebrew.
Having been born in Israel, its hard to miss the distinctive
sound of this ancient language. Then they spoke English to a
slightly older gentleman who appeared to be traveling with them.
It is amazing what can happen when we are open to moments of
magic and we pay attention. As I walked down the jet way to the
plane, I happened to be behind one of the brothers. I casually
mentioned that I heard them speaking Hebrew. He beamed a big
smile, I told him I was born in Israel, and he told me that he
and his brother were born there too. I found out that he and his
brother came to America, specifically to …
