Over the past 20 years its fair to say I have listened to a lot
of ambient music. Some great and some , well, not so. Some CDs I
have bought I have listened to only a handful of times
while others have remained a regular fixture in my CD/LP player
for over two decades and sound just as fresh as ever. One such
long-player is "WonderGround" by Michael Andresen ( a.k..a Healer
).
I still remember the day I walked into the local psychedelic
trance record store and saw it on display in the glass cabinet
with it's cloudy CD jacket design. I asked the guy to put into
the only CD player he had available and donned the headphones.
Instantly I was transported to a world of dreamscapes and
fantasy. Any stress that I felt that day was washed away in a
matter of minutes as Healer's incredible debut album took hold of
me. I bought it no questions asked.
Since it's release in 2000, Michael released just the one follow
up album in 2004 titled "HigherGrounds". Emotionally and
technically it is just as amazing as the debut but for me the
WonderGround album remains a favorite. There is no real reasoning
there - probably just because it was the first and it made a
initial emotion connection with me. Michael also records trance
music under the name "12 Moons" which has proven succuessful with
appearances on over 20 compilations between 2000 and 2005.
So what has Andresen been up to since then you might ask ?
Despite a lack of any further releases as either Healer or 12
Moons, he has been busy over the last few years working on video
production and as a photographic artist. You can check out some
of his work over at the
Michael Andresen Website.
Perhaps the best news of recent times was Michael's decision to
make all of his previous albums available as free downloads via
the
Ektoplazm website. How cool is that ! So if you
have never experienced the Healer or 12 Moons sounds then now is
the perfect time to start. Another thing that also looks
promising is the release of a number of music videos on YouTube
such as "Dream Time" which you can view below.

From time to time I enjoy posting about psychedelic artists here at
the psyamb blog. This time I would like to introduce you all to the
wonderfully psychedelic art of
Larry Carlson. Larry's art is quite varied but
all of it exhibits themes of psychedelia and plain old weirdness
that is a real delight to the eyes. From traditional collage work
to digital photography he continues to push the boundaries of what
is possible when trying to express ideas around the psychedelic
experience.
G4Tech TV called him “The Salvador Dali of the Next Century”, and
they may be right in that assessment. Larry is also an avid music
producer having created 7 albums of surreal soundscapes to date.
Most of his art comes is standard sizes however , for me, what
really impresses is his "web art" series in which he creates
massive vertically scrolling digital collages. They are perhaps a
little too big for me to include here so follow
this link
to view his web art series page.

Today we have a
nice psychedelic dub mix up for download. This mix kicks off with
a smooth dub from up and coming American producer "Soulacybin"
with the track "Bolzar" from his release "Self Existing Earth",
one of the many excellent free releases to be found at PsyderWeb
netlabel site. Soulacybin's music is a perfect mix of traditional
dub using live guitars and synths combined with more modern
sounding ambient soundscapes. In this track the bassline sounds a
little like "The Police" track "The bed's too big without you".
Pretty cool stuff.
Following on then we have the track "Spatchulah" from the rather
excellent new CD "Power Salad" by Australian based duo
Sunmonx. From their Melbourne studio producers OPIUO ( from N.Z )
and ALBINO ( from Mexico ) have cooked up a refreshing mix of
psychedelic dub fused with a blues guitar groove that will have
your foot tapping and head nodding from one toke to the next. If
you ever wondered what a mix of dub and blues would sound like
then here is your answer.

Sunmonx

Next up is veteran psydub producer "Kuba" with a tune
from his latest release "Random Precision" on Chillcode Music.
Kuba has firmly established himself as one of the world's best
psychedelic ambient and dub music producers since his debut in
2001 in the group Grey Beard where he released the phenomenal
track Aushandi on Youth's LSD records.
Between 2006 and 2009 he was very productive - releasing an album
a year and touring festivals and clubs. The latest album was a
little longer in coming into being. Given the high quality of the
13 tracks involved you won't hear any complaints from me. This is
a absolute corker of an album that combines dub, world music,
techno and more. There are no throw-away tunes or fillers here.
Solid, solid, solid.

Celt Islam
|
Speaking of world
music, the next tune comes from dub and world music producers
"Celt Islam". Celt Islam is best known for his work in the
Sufi-Dub genre. Sufi-Dub was formed a few years back and
championed, pretty much solo, by Celt Islam.
To the best of my best knowledge it is simply dub music with a
middle eastern feel. It hasn't really taken off like other
dub forms but C.I continues to plug away in this musical niche.
That's not a bad thing as his music is certainly top-shelf and
why dilute it with copy cats anyway ? This track comes from his
2012 release "Baghdad", a truely wonderful musical journey that I
highly recommend to traditional dub music fans and anyone who
likes a bit of world music flavors in their dub.
"Dub One!" [ Peter Seifert ] has been creating dub music and
releasing tracks though iD.EOLOGY since around 2005. His latest
release, the "Blow Dubs EP" is a nice little 5 track EP with some
funk, jazz and salsa inspired dubbness that would appeal to a
broad range of listeners. While that might not appeal to pure dub
music fans let's not forget it's free so why not give it an ear
and see what you think. Visit the iD.EOLOGY website for more
info.
One of the best albums to be released in the psychedelic dub
genre of recent times would have to be the remix project that
"Desert Dwellers" recently released on "White Swan Records". The
project sees a number of the leading psychedelic music producers
give the DD sound a refreshing makeover. It has proven to be
increadibly successful in the charts and online retailers.
Everyone invloved deseves all the praise they get as it really is
a remarkable album. It's not too often that every tune on a remix
CD is as good as we have of "DownTemple Dub: Remixed" so if you
haven't had a chance to yet then I highly recommend a dose of
this one - you wont be dissapointed.
The next tune is very cool indeed. "Four Lead Clover" by
"Mr.Lager" was originally relesed on Sub Freq records. I picked
this up through iTunes from a 3 track EP I think. This tune has a
nice warm feel to it - it seems to occupy a lot of audio space.
Would love to hear a full release from Mr. Lager someday.

|
Globular
|
Globular provides a a slice of deeply psychedelic dubbed out
trippiness with the next track "Subversion" from his
fantastically phantasmagorical new album "A Self Fullfilling
Prophecy". This CD is a real step up from his previous work in
terms of production quality. A very satisfying release that gets
better with each listen. Pickup your free copy now over at the
Ektoplazm website. One for fans of Shpongle , Ott and Androcell.
And while you are checking out Globular why not also take a look
at "Up The Duff", a massive 27 track free release also available
at Ektoplazm. There you can find the next track in our mix
"Regrowth" by New Zealand's "Mr. Squach". And if I'm not mistaken
the samples in this song come from non other than The Family
Guy's Mexican maid Consuela ! Check out more from Mr.S at his
Soundcloud page, especially his latest track on there - the 9
minute stomer "The Squatch Expands Life"... what a tune !
Next is something a little more tradional with a bit of a
straight up dub tune from French producer "Kanka" [ Alexis
Langlois ] released on his album "Dub Communication" last year.
Alexis mixes tradional dub sounds ( such as the nice melodica
work in this track ) wih electro-dub elements to create a variety
of dub based styles. A nice summer afternoon CD for relaxing
around the BBQ.

Abakus
|
Abakus is well known to listeners of the PsyAmb podcast
as he has featured in a number of previous mixes across a number
of different styles. That's what you always get with Abakus - a
variety of top quality tunes. Abakus [ Russ Davies ] has used a
number of names in the past as he seeks out various genres in
which to express his love of music. In a career that has lasted
over 10 years he has continually evolved his sounds, picking up a
loyal support base along the way.
I was first made aware of Russ' talents when listening to the
early LSD label compilation in which he often featured , along
with Humphry Bacchus, as the group Nada. 2004 saw the release of
his debut CD "That Much Closer To The Sun" which used to stay in
my CD player for days if not weeks on end !
His sound draws on many influences from old and new and has
become known for being of it's own kind, a fusion of downbeat,
dub, techno, trance and electronica. The guy is a true
musician's musician.
We close out this mix with a final bit of psychedelic dub from
the Desert Dwellers remix CD once more. This time we have a remix
of the track "Yoga Dub Mystic" by "Eastern Sun", a group of know
nothing about sorry. If anyone has any info on Eastern Sun please
drop a comment below and let us know who they are because this a
really smooth and lush remix.

Good quality psychedelic fonts make a big difference to a web
page with a psychedelic theme or for creating party flyers and CD
covers. I thought it might be worthwhile sharing my favorite free
psychedelic font collections that I've used over the years.
Here I list some of the most trippy fonts that use can download,
all for free, and use in programs like photoshop or gimp for
creating striking web images for your next project. Apart from
the usual 60`s and 70`s psychedelic poster fonts you will find
some very cool modern designs that can used to create a
psychedelic vision of the future.

ESE are a duo ( Stefano Contini and Piero
Marchesi ) from Milan, Italy and this is their third
release to date. The Databloem website lists their music as a mix
between Furutre Sound Of London and The Orb. This is a very apt
description, especially for their first two albums.
Their music gets better with each release and this album is no
exception - their most thoughtful and accomplished work to date.
It has a wonderful mix of differinent ambient genres but still
expresses an overall mind bending ( entheogenic exploring ? )
theme throughout. There is nothing harsh or overly out of place
here as you sometimes get with FSOL and The Orb. This is a very
solid album from start to finish that you will find yourself
playing on repeat again and again.
The guys are fairly active on their
SoundCloud
channel too - so check it out for their latest unreleased
sounds. The SoundCloud Chanel also has a great live recording the
guys did at FM X-Rated in Holland last year which you can play
below.

Free ambient music sites and sounds are becoming increasing
popular over the last few years with professional quality music
being released by online web labels every day. There are plenty
of online ambient radio stations but what about
free
downloads we can all use and copy to our mp3 player of choice
for listening offline ?
While I make use of online pay per download sites such as ITunes,
Beatport and online CD retailers, when my wallet is feeling light
I head over to some of my favorite free music sites. Here I list
some of my favorite free ambient music download resources for you
to enjoy.
There is a huge collection of sounds on offer here so be sure to
check them out and bookmark them for future reference.
Ektoplazm.com is a must visit for any fan of psychedelic ambient
music. Founder Dj Banasilisk created Ektoplazm as a storehouse
for free psychedelic trance music. His online free music
distribution formula proved so popular that it has now been
expanded to include techno and an excellent collection of
psychedelic ambient music including ambient, chillout, dub,
downtempo and psybient styles.
The site also contains monthly download rankings so you can get a
good idea of what is currently popular with listeners around the
world.
Last.fm is well known as a site where people can listen to music
online and connect with other like minded individuals. You can
see what an artist's most popular songs are and also see what
artists might be similar to your favorite musicians, opening the
doors for new listening experiences. Surprisingly,. not a lot of
people seem to know that Last.fm also offers a significant number
of free downloads.
If you Google "Free ambient music last.fm" you'll get the link to
67 pages of free ambient music at the last.fm website ! Or simply
follow this link.
Free music downloads and sharing the love is what Earth Mantra is
all about. The site has many ambient albums all available for
free download ( for non-commericial use ). The EM site puts a lot
of effort into assuring the music thy release is of the highest
quality and you will find close to 200 free ambient albums
released in high quality 320 kbps Mp3s or FLAC files. Great stuff
!
Silent Flow is a netlabel based in Chisinau, Moldova and
was founded in 2009. For a relatively new label they have a good
amount of free ambient music on offer. Apart from popular ambient
music styles the label also has a catalog of more experimental
and sound-scape music on offer so there is something for all fans
of free ambient music downloads to discover.
Bump Foot is a netlabel based in Japan. They have an ambient
spin-off called Bump Side which you can access through the main
Bump Foot website. Close to 200 ambient electonica albums on
offer and some real gems to be found amongst them.
Although no longer releasing new music, 17 Sons did manage to
release an enormous amount of free music during their active
release period. Luckily for ambient music lovers, all the music
is still available for free download. Lots of ambient, drone and
experimental music on offer.
Like 17 Sons , Stadtgruen no longer releases new music but has
left behind a tasty collection of free ambient music for us all
to enjoy. Running a net label must be a time consuming past time
( much like a music blog .... haha ) so I can sympathize with
these guys when they feel they can no longer carry on due to time
constraints. But let's not dwell on the past and celebrate what
is on offer here - great chillout and ambient music.
With currently 209 ambient, drone and electroacoustic albums on
offer, Webbed Hand is a must visit for you deep ambient music
listeners out there. This is one netlabel that is still going
strong with their latest album released just last week I
believe.
Here you will find atmospheric, meditative, chillout,
instrumental, neo-classic, new Age and soundtrack music in a well
organised and easy to navigate site. The site offers both an
english and french language version.
The site looks very familiar ! I think they use the same blog
template as me haha ! Zimmer Records has been around for years
and years and have collected an impressive amount of quality
ambient music. Not only will you spend days going through their
back catalog they also have a link to a further 90 of their own
favorite netlabels for you to support ! May I suggest a pot of
coffee ...
You like it dark ? This site offers dark ambient that is so dark
even the light bits and dark ! They only have a handful of
releases on offer but some of you dark dronesters might get a
kick out it. Hopefully we can see some more releases from them in
the future.
Excellent site this one. Apart from a number of fantastic ambient
albums the guys at Id.E have their finger on the pulse of the
ambient dub, dubstep and ambient electronica community as
well.
Homework is a Russian based netlabel that focuses on IDM,
ambient, experiemental, downtempo and minimal music. I've
unearthed a number of top albums here that I am still listening
to so I heartily recommend a visit.
Ouim.net is a netlabel with a focus of ambient, electro, techno
and trance. Listeners of this blog my be familiar with a number
of the artist who have released free music through these guys
including Kliment, Synthetic and Maharishi. Another well designed
site that is a pleasure to visit for free chillout
sessions.
Another site that I've used in psyamb mixes in the past in Kahvi
Collective. This site is a little difficult to search through (
there is no direct search option ) however you can select the
"List All Releases" link and scroll down to find those marked as
ambient / IDM etc. Excellent resource for people into ambient
music and more.
One of the largest collections of free music available on the
planet, Jamendo has grown from humble beginnings into an online
sounds megasite that is now hosts approximately 340,00 free songs
( including over 5000 albums tagged as ambient ) and close to
50,000 Facebook fans ! If you can't find something you like here
chances are you need to see your ear doctor.
Well that's probably enough for now. As I remember more I'll post
them here. I was considering adding some free ambient music
loops, royalty free stuff etc to the list but I think I'll save
those for another post in the future. If you know of any good
free ambient music sites with albums for download post a comment
below and share the vibes or shoot me an email and I'll add to
the list. Happy listening !

Younger Brother have had a busy 12 months with live shows all
over the place, a full electronic version of the latest album
"Vaccine" reaching completion and now talk of the possibility of
an acoustic version in the future. Here is a recent video of the
lads filmed doing an acoustic version of their track "Spinning
Into Place" for music magazine Relix. Pretty cool if you ask me
... bring on the acoustic album version !

Today we have a psystep / dubstep mix for you all that you might
want to turn up your speakers for. Dubstep was born out a mix of
dub, breaks, drum and bass and 2-step and is characterised by its
now all too familiar wobbly basslines. It took over the world in
the early half of last decade and was quickly follwed by the
inevitable cashing in by commericial enterprises. That resulted
in a lot of good dubstep being drowned in a sea of god awful
music.
As a welcome offshoot of the dubstep sound, psystep makes use of
the dubstep basslines and infuses it with psychedelic melodies
and percusion that is often heard in psytrance or psychedelic
ambient music.
While there is now a plethora of dubstep artists out there,
psystep producers remain relatively few. An occasional tune pops
up on regular dubstep compilations now and again. There have also
been a number of psystep tunes released on dubstep downloads on
offer at free web label sites and archives such as
ektoplazm.com.
Some of the leading psystep artists include
Bird Of Prey (
my personal favorite ), Liquid Stranger, Brujo's Bowl, Heyoka,
Phutureprimitive, Ott, Nanda and Kaminanda.
Having never mixed anything as 'heavy' as this before I found it
quite a challenge. Certainly a lot more difficult than mixing the
ambient tunes I usually upload here. Anyway, if you like your
music a with a little more bite you might get a kick out of this
psystep/dubstep mix.
My usual file hosting site is having problems this weekend so
I've uploaded this to Soundcloud for now. Soundcloud has a
download limit I think ( I'm using the free version ). Hopefully
my regular host site will be sorted out by the time we get to the
download limit. To download the mix simply select the download
button at the top right of the player below. Cheers ...

Welcome to the latest psychedelic ambient mix in the psyamb
series. There has been a lot of great music released over the
Christmas and New Year period with a number of excellent looking
releases due next month too from the likes of Kuba ( Random
Precision ), Seamoon ( Expressions Of The Moment ), Astropilot (
Fruits Of The Imagination 2 ), Shulman ( Alive ), Special
Places ( Various Artists ), Greenosophy ( Various Artists,
Ultimae ) and James Murray ( Floods ).
Today we kick of with the track "Etheral Dream" from Uth ( Alex
Lytvyn ). Some of you may remember Alex's work on DJ Zen's Fire
compilation a few years back. This track comes from Turtlitava
compilation which is now available as a free download from the
Ektoplazm website where it is getting great feedback.

Next is
one of 2011's best artists,
Lauge and Baba Gnohm. After a few compilation
tracks and an EP release, LABG really delivered the goods with
their debut release "Langbortistan". This tune, "H2O", is a
hypnonoic slice of melodic grandeur. If you dig this tune why not
follow the guys on Facebook as they are always more then happy to
communicate with listeners and appreciate a kind word or
two.
After LABG is a tune from Russia's Super Special from their debut
album "Crystal Forest", released on Trimurti Records around the
middle on 2011. This album didn't get the widest of distribution
or feedback which is a shame really because although it may not
be as polished as a Shpongle album it certainly is a lot of fun
with a kind of 60's psych feel mixed with trance melodies and
percussion.
Following on from Super Special is
Dubtrak with his tune "Dark River Tribe". This
tune is a real treat and reminds me of some old school
psychedelic ambient music with its evolving structures that
slowly build layers of dreamy sounds shifting in and out of each
other - kind of like early Saafi Brothers in a way.
We then have "Misty Mountain" by
Deset
Dwellers. If you haven't heard of Desert Dwellers yet then
stop what you are doing right now and get over to the DD website
and check them out at all haste ! Desert Dwellers are an amazing
four peice band that create their music by sharing work over the
internet. Amani Friend, Rara Avis, Treavor Moontribe & Craig
Kohland have created a project that allows them to work apart and
combine their unique talents to create some of the best tribal,
ethnic electronic music one is ever likely to hear. Essential
listening for any fans of electronic world music.
Next is one of the world's rising stars on the psychedelic dub
music scene, Globular.
Globular ( Morison Bennett ) has taken the batton
from Shpongle and Ott and continues to run the race. Sure we
could argue that Globular sounds too much like a Twisted Records
artist but then again if I like fruit-n-nut icecream why wouldn't
I want to see more of it at my local supermarket ! More Globular
I say !

I have featured Chronos a number
of times in past mixes and this next tune of his is also worth
sharing I think. It's not that often that you get to hear celtic
influences in psychdelic ambient music. Hallucinogen springs to
mind with his triplets filled tunes on his early music and a few
tunes he did under other monikers. So it's refreshing to see it
pop up here on this folk remix of Chronos' own tune "Sky Patch".
The bag pipes towards the end of the track are especially well
done - like Braveheart on acid haha.
Next up is Maharishi ( Borislav Lazarov ) with a track from his
album "Sense Of Feather" released in December 2011 on the
OUIM Net label - A
creative commons liscence net label that releases music for free
distribution. Borislav hails from Sofia, Bulgaria. He found early
inspiration in acts like TheProdigy, Orbital, Underworld, and
FSOL which lead him to his current form of psychedelic music
production. Sense Of Feather may be a bit difficult on first
listen because there is so much going on his tracks but the more
you listen the more you like it and begin to notice what Borislav
is all about - souped up, hypno trippy mindscapes. This would be
really great music outdoors at a fesitval in the middle of the
night.
Before slipping into a few final ambient tunes we have the
courageously named "The Innovator" with the tune "All I Need".
This can be found on Tunguska Chillout Grooves vol. 7. One could
almost assume the name "The Innovator" is a little tounge in
cheek as I found this tune comprises of an often used z3ta
softsynth plugin preset ! But let's not let the music geek in me
ruin what is an otherwise fine tune.
We wrap up this mix with a couple of beautiful ambient tunes.
Firstly we have the wonderful Sinepearl ( Björn Ekegren ) with a
track from the CD "Dance of Affinity" released on ISHQ's
Virtual World Records last year. Finally we close
with Elve ( a.k.a ISHQ ) and the tune "Mycelium Dawn" from the
album "Infinite Garden" back in 2006. If you like these sounds
then head over to the Virtual Records releases page to listen to
some more engaging ambient soundscapes from the Virtual
roster. That it for this edition of the psyamb podcast. I'm hoping
to get another psybient mix or psydub mix up next week so check
back then for some more fine ambient electronica.

Reverb is a not a dirty word. Reverb is an effect often used in
ambient and dub music production to simulate those components of
sound which are produced from reflections off walls or objects in
the surrounding environment. When done well it can transport the
listener into an other world of the producers making and evoke
feelings of warmth, isolation or comfort. When it is done as well
as it is on "Winter Garden" , a collaboration between Harold
Budd,Eraldo Bernocchi and Robin Guthrie it takes you way beyond
the other world and into a deep introspective look at your
relationship with sound, space and atmosphere.
American Harold Budd has gained popularity over the years with
his minimalistic piano work and collaborations with Brian Eno.
Although he has hinted at retiring now and then over the past
decade or more he is still producing beautiful soundscapes well
into to his 70's and will appear as a featured composer at this
year's Other Minds festival in March. On this release he teams up
renowned Italian musician and producer Eraldo Bernocchi and
Scottish producer/guitarist Robin Guthrie, founder of Cocteau
Twins and Violet Indiana.
|
|
L to R : Robin Guthrie, Harold Budd, Eraldo Bernocchi.
|
This is epic moody and melodic music that, much like like
the title itself hints at, is at once barren and desolate while
remaining eerily beautiful. On first listen one might get the
impression that each song song sounds too familiar and alike.
However with a careful ear you begin to spot the winter fruits
hidden in the garden and you are soon wrapped up in its
inescapable artistry.
Previous collaboration between Budd and Guthrie have been a
little hit and miss for me. Heavy handed muscular guitar drones
by Guthrie sometimes outshone Budd's piano work. However on this
occasion there are no such problems. Both Guthrie's guitar and
Budd's distant, brooding piano work sit comfortably next to each
other and are enhanced further by Bernochii's pulsing bass and
electronic production.
One can't help but feel this recording requires the best setting
for the optimal listening experience. I found most enjoyment from
this album while listening with a good pair of headphones while
lying down with the lights switched off and nothing to distract
me. I discovered an icy melancholy that was beautiful and
weightless, a boat made of clouds drifting out to sea. This is
required listening for any fans of minimal ambient music and will
no doubt find cross over appeal with fans of soundscapes and film
scores.
The CD is available online now through Bernocchi's
RareNoiseRecords label.

Like skateboards ? Like classic and modern art ? I know I do, so
here is a little bit of a fun game I made. I spent the afternoon
playing around with some photoshop skateboard templates and
overlayed them with some of world's most popular paintings. You
can move your mouse over each image to reveal the artist and
painting. Why not try see how many you recognize before you move
the mouse though. Enjoy dudes !

If you like 3d fractal animations then get ready for a real
treat. This is a wonderfully animated 3D fractal movie created by
Jérémie Brunet ( aka bib993 ) titled "Like in a dream II". The
video was originally created to accompany one of the popular TEDx
talks presented by Bryan Alvarez about the
Human Atlas
project. The project is aiming to create the first ever 3D
interactive atlas of the human body that scales from organs to
atoms, and depicts the dynamic living processes of the human
body.
"The mission of this project is to celebrate the beauty of living
systems. Imagine exploring a version of Google Earth where you
could see all of Earth's animals roaming the planet, oceans and
weather moving in real time, and travel deep into the Earth's
center. If you can imagine this for the human body, you can begin
to imagine the Human Atlas Project." - Human Atlas Project
Jérémie also has a rather excellent
deviant art
page with lots of 3d fractal images he has been creating over
the last few years.

I don't often post
other dj mixes on this blog but this one is so freakin good I
just had to share it. This is an amazing mix from Germany's
Basicnoise ( Peter Fanai ). At the age of five Peter started with
classical piano lessons at the conservatorium. Aged just 13, he
got his first synthesizer (Korg M1), resulting in an affection to
electronic music. Around 1995 he got a groundbreaking mixtape
with tracks from Sähkö, Basic Channel and Peacefrog.
Already in love with electronic music, these minimalistic and
dubby tunes changed everything and he started to create his own
tracks. After some releases with different styles as Peter Fanai,
he came up with Basicnoise for pure minimalistic dub techno.
