Well its about time! This just releasedblockquoteh3Arizona Governor
to Countersue Federal Governmenth3Thursday, February 10, 2011By
Staff, Associated PressstrongPhoenix APstrong Arizona Gov. Jan
Brewer says she plans to file a counterlawsuit against the federal
government for failing to enforce immigration laws.Brewer says her
claim will be filed in the federal governments challenge to
Arizonas new enforcement immigration law.The governor says the
federal government hasnt secured the states border with Mexico and
stuck Arizona with the costs tied to illegal immigration. The law
was passed amid years of complaints that the federal government
hasnt done enough to lessen the states role as the nations busiest
illegal entry point.A judge blocked the most controversial portions
of the law, such as a requirement that says police, while enforcing
other laws, must question peoples immigration status if theres a
reasonable suspicion theyre in the country illegally.blockquoteI
kept asking myself, if Obama insists it is the federal governments
responsibility to ensure our borders are secure and the federal
government fails to perform that duty, then why cant the state of
Arizona sue the federal government for failure to do their job. It
looks like Jan Brewer had the same thoughts. The southern border is
not secure, despite Janet Napolitanos insistence that the border is
as secure now as it has ever been. The fact is, and she knows it
from her tenure as Arizona Governor, that the border has never been
secure. While citizens are being molested at the airports in the
name of security, we leave have left the front and back doors open
for anyone to enter. Real security starts at our borders and the
federal government has failed us for decades.
