The globally renowned Outokumpu Technology has changed its business
name to Outotec. This new image of the company is set to introduce
the latest breakthroughs in the industrial business yet focuses on
green technology at the same time. According to Outotec Australia
Managing Director
Neil Jagger, the new name and image of Outotec
will pave a way for continuous growth for what the company has
started many years ago.
Neil Jagger stressed that together with the improvements, the
company still features the same products and services that the
former Outokumpu has gained popularity on. Such innovations include
in grinding, flotation, paste thickening, and automation
technologies with the leading brands like Supaflo and Tankcell.
Also, he emphasised the core values that the company keep such as
reliability, innovativeness, technology leadership, and a
collaborative spirit with the customers.
With years of expertise, the company is already operating in six
continents with headquarters based on the East and West Coasts of
Australia. The company's leading experts and professionals provide
design and engineering services as well as deliver plants, process
and equipment to clients in the metallurgical industry. With the
services, Outotec still ensure their responsibility to the
environment where they operate.
Today, Outotec has three business divisions in the metallurgical
industry: Minerals Processing, Base Metals and Metals Processing.
Minerals processing provides processes and equipment based on
mining technology and mainly operates in Australia and the
Asia-Pacific region. Other processes include grinding, flotation,
physical separation, thickening, on-line analysing, automation and
water processing plants.
What makes Outotec's technologies stand among the rest of its
competitors in the industry is the company's sensitivity to the
environment. One example of this feature is water treatment. It is
a fact that mining plants have a great consumption of natural
resources and it poses a great danger to the nearby communities
where the plant operates. With this, Outotec's
Supaflo paste thickener is used to decrease the
plant's water consumption by half.
Moreover, the company provides energy-efficient technologies that
cover the whole process in treating metals. These innovations
involve waste circulation, minimising generation of dust, and
elimination of plant emissions that are harmful in the atmosphere.
The company also introduces solutions to minimise the need of
transportation of metals to be able to shorten the process thus
conserving energy. Today, Outotec has two in-house research
centres, eight laboratories, and four test plants. Even more,
thousands of professionals work hand-in-hand to provide innovation
in the industry yet being sensible to the concerns of nature at the
same time. Indeed, the new face of Outotec has become beneficial to
both their clients and to the environment.
