"tomtom gps xl 330
s" 2009-12-13
By
Susano Singson (lynbrook, NY)
I bought this new tomtom xl 330-s from costco. I opted to have this
GPS after comparing it to the Magellan 1445t
I like the 3 dimensional look of the Tomtom especially when I am
approaching the entrance of the tunnel it gives
me a large overview of how its like to navigate in the tunnel as
well even the signal is off.
I have only two negative feed back. First when after crossing the
59th bridge of NYC it does not know where to direct me to the most
quickest route but instead route to a further route.
Second after I try to update it with the home tomtom for free map
update. My tomtom gps map has completely disappeared
in other words Tomtom hijacked my map from the Gps and they try to
let me download another updated map for certain
amount of fee for a brand new gps. hell no!I was really
disappointed. As of this writing I am returning this back to
Costco.
I tried for several hours to connect and reboot my gps but it
always says no map found. So don't try to go and
update your map because you find out your map in your Tomtom gps
will completely disappear.
"Ok product but mount is
horrible" 2009-11-28
By
Kevin W (Houston, TX USA)
Bought this just before a long roadtrip. I liked the screen size
and the idea of the small mounting ring. Navigation is ok. There
were a couple of times we were sent on pretty strange routes but we
got to our destinations ok. Big problem with this device is the
mount. You can't attach the mount to a windshield with the device
attached. It is difficult to attach the device when the mount is on
the window. You can't use it with the weighted dashboard "pillow"
we used to use. Today, three months after we bought the GPS, the
mount broke at a point I'd been concerned looked like a weak point.
Overall I'd rate the GPS as a 4 but hte mount as a zero. Be
careful!
"Fairly easy to use - manual a
joke - home address took 45 mins to find." 2009-11-27
By
J. J. Marino (Rochester, New York)
Overall this is a fine GPS unit. I do have some serious concerns
that I would like to address first;
Call me crazy but why cant a GPS unit that you are setting up for
the first time ask you if you would like to use the current
location as home? I live in a fairly large city, and this unit had
flakey names in it for the towns. I live in Rochester NY. During
the setup the options for my town were Rochester NY, (Greece) which
is 30 minutes away from me or ROC Rochester International Airport.
I live about 5 minutes from Pittsford NY so I thought I could find
my address there, nope. Not there either. Brighton NY which is
close to me was not even listed so I was forced to choose either
Greece NY or ROC airport. I chose Greece and I did find my address.
Why, was I not just given the option to use my current location as
home?
During the setup it asked me to choose a voice as I was clicking
through the 5 or so voices it came to one that I was to insert a CD
for. I realized this must be a premium voice so I went to go back
and the setup jumped ahead to the next part of the setup. Good
thing I could figure out where to get the voices from later.
The manual has to be the most worthless manual I have ever seen. It
is barely 5 - 2" pages. You better be a bit tech savvy if you get
this. Be SUPER careful when you first turn it on because the other
language selections are small and if you have fat fingers you may
have a GPS in Russian or something.
Last complaint is the fact that once you have started a journey it
is kind of difficult to back out of it or change it. It may be
something simple that a MANUAL would have explained but me fuddling
around has not been easy to accomplish.
Ok now for the good:
It has a wonderfully large screen. The mounting hardware is
ingenious and you can put this just about any angle on your
windshield and it is a solid and sturdy mount. Removal is very easy
and it comes with a fairly long cable. The 3D view moves very
smoothly and it runs just fine while going down the road. The
routes it selects are valid and useful.
Pros:
>> Large Screen
>> Excellent mount
>> Nice loud voice(s)
>> Easy to put in or take out of car
Cons:
<< Ridiculous manual
<< May take a while to set up and muddle through
<< Flakey inital setup
I would give this a 3.5 stars because it is a pretty good unit,
just seems that Tom Tom gave up with regards to their technical
writing staff.
Thank you for reading my review.

it to turn on" 2009-11-11
By
Timothy M. Stang
Oh we were so excited to use this when we got it!! It worked great
right out of the box. Then a week later, it wouldn't turn on.
Reading the instruction manual was a complete joke. It had a major
issue trying to power up. Resetting it didn't even work. We
returned it after a month of frustration.

experience by providing a little peace and quiet. The compact and
comfortable earbud-style headphones fit in the palm of your hand

powerful enough to reduce 90 percent of ambient noise. Enjoy
studio-quality sound from the 13.5mm driver units, while a
convenient monitor switch allows you to minimize your audio and
listen to conversation. When noise cancellation isn’t necessary,
the passive feature lets you operate the MDR-NC33 headphones as
regular stereo headphones without battery

"Competely
ineffective!" 2009-12-22
By Roland J. Plasser (So. Calif.)
This is my second pair, as the first pair did nothing whatsoever to
reduce any kind of noise, so I returned them for a new pair. Guess
what, the second pair is exactly the same, it does nothing when the
switch is turned on. I tried a sine wave tone generator run through
some speakers and tried frequencies from 50 to 200 hertz, the
Sony's did not have any perceivable affect at any frequency or
volume. I can see why the single AAA battery last sfor 100 hours,
all it does is light up a red LED when the switch is turned on, it
certainly does not use power to cancel noise. In other words: IT'S
A USELESS PIECE OF JUNK! Get the Sennheiser PXC 250, not earbuds,
but it works great. I can't believe that Sony would sell such a
worthless item.

"Good at eliminating low frequency
sounds but moderate at everything else" 2009-12-22
By
K. McDaniel (Montreal)
I can only compare them to the Shure SE110 Sound Isolating Earphone
I also have.
Noise on the street
- About equal. If it is raining the advantage goes to Shure since
the nc33s struggle with the
high pitch sounds (water on the street by moving cars).
Subway-Metro
- Here they are about equal again. The nc33s do not block the
announced station stops but once again
Shure does a better job of the high pitch sounds (breaks, metal
friction ect . . .)
At Home
- I found the nc33 does a much better gob with low appliance
humming and other such sounds
(refrigerator, washer, dryer, dishwasher, neighbours subwoofer,
large trucks outside ect . . . )
On a Plain
- Here I give the advantage to the nc33s. This is mainly because
the airplane sound is a low
constant sound. In this environment they clearly held the advantage
and perhaps the claim of
90% reduction in background sound can be seen as accurate.
I cannot agree with other reviews that cannot tell the difference
between when the noise cancelling is on or off. This is true of
higher frequencies but not of the lower ones (airplane, appliance,
truck engine ect . . . )
"Dont Waste your
Money" 2009-12-22
By
C. Jayasekara (Surrey, British Columbia Canada)
Sony MDR-NC33 shockingly disappointing. Wasted my money. Sony never
again.
Biggest problem is, I dont see the difference when noise canceling
turned on. Sony is claiming 90% noise cancellation. I have tested
this at various setting including cafes, buses and trains. I
believe 50 cents earplug would do much better job.
I am really disappointed and unfortunately I am stuck with sucker
as I purchased this at US Sony store.
"Shockingly
disfunctional." 2009-12-21
By
Sweetandlow (usa)
Sony says that these offer "90%" noise reduction. I could do better
by placing the tips of my forefingers in my ears. There is no
perceptible difference when the "active noise cancelling" is turned
on. This has been true of every Sony in-ear "active" noise
cancelling headphone since the NC10. The NC-22's offered
exceptional ergonomics, so their passive noise cancelling is quite
good. The electronics add nothing. The NC33's are a pair of below
average audio headphones with no discernable noise cancelling. It's
the "Emperor's New Clothes:" all perception, no functional reality.
I write user reviews as a hobby, and have reviewed the Audio
Technica ATH-ANC3's for CNET as a user. I emailed Sony for a review
pair of the NC300d's, supposedly the "piece de resistance" of their
in-ear headphones. No wonder they turned me down. For $350 they're
probably just shinier than the NC33's. Kudos to Panasonic, who have
achieved at least a modicum of success with their HP-50 and HP55
in-ear headphones; I can hear a discrete elimination of low
frequency noise when I power them up. Be smart, buy a pair of the
Panasonics or Denon 452's which have a nice fit and great sound. In
fairness to Sony, they once made fine in-ear headphones that
eliminate noise passively as a side benefit. The EX71's are somehow
just plain fun to listen to and feel good in the ear. Their new
line has lost its sonic soul.
"Huge
disappointment" 2009-12-19
By
D. S. Loeb (ponte vedra beach, fl USA)
Good part first: they are well built and I I agree will last for a
while. Three different size earpieces make them comfortable to
wear. I had used Stenheiser on-ear in past but wanted more noise
reduction with in ear. These are absolutely terrible. I took them
into a Sony store in NYC to see if they were defective. After
testing, the salesperson thought that he could tell a difference
versus when there was no noise reduction and they were fine. I've
bought Sony products before and have been willing to pay premium
over other brands, but these are a joke. And I threw packaging away
when I got them so I can't even return. Good lesson there as well.
Avoid even of someone wants to give these to you.

"WAY
OVERPRICED!!!" 2009-12-22
By Robert Crain
The Rock Band with instruments are awesome - I had the RB1 for over
a year and bought the RB2 for Christmas and will be playing it for
a long time. This review is in reply to the selling price of $499;
however, you can find these units for $100, or less, AND comes with
the game. $49 is more reasonable for the instruments, that appear
to be RB1. The $499 price is a complete rip-off, so buyer
beware!!

"DO NOT
BUY!" 2009-10-03
By
Karen C. Moore (La Grange, KY 40031)
I bought this for my 12 year olds birthday. The first day the
guitar worked for just a couple of minutes.
It is wireless so not much you can do. Called the company that it
said to call and they want you to charge [...] to a credit card and
they will ship you a new guitar and when they receive yours back
they will issue credit at some point. Yeah right! Try to get that
back and who says they will not just say they didnt receive it. I
read where people all the time spends boo koos of time trying to
get credits from something like this. Regardless of the note that
says to not to return to the store. I am returning the entire
bundle and making sure this is the last nintendo product I
buy!!!

Diane M. Seidel (Houston, TX United States)
I was actually ready to "add to cart" until I noticed that they
want $39 to ship this. They also don't give any information on
whether these are the wireless Rockband 2 instruments. They are
described as the "original" wii instruments. The first generation
of Rockband instruments for Wii, did not have wireless drums or
wireless mic.

"Best earphones I have owned." 2009-12-22
By
D. Miyao (San Diego)
I use earphones nearly everyday for at least one hour at the gym
which allows me to justify owning a great set of earphones. So far,
I have owned the Shure entry level earphones, Shure ec310, v-modas,
grado sr-60, grado sr-80, ultimate ears superfi 5 pros, and now the
ultimate ears superfi 10s. I love my grado cans, the sound is
amazing, and the superfi5 pros I have owned for the last year and
didnt think i needed to ever upgrade again. I happened to check the
gold box deal of the day and saw that the superfi 10s were 99
dollars so I could not pass on the amazing deal.
I am not a professional musician or anything of that sort, but I
know good sound when I hear it. The superfi 10s are the best
sounding earphone I have ever owned hands down. I can hear the
entire range of sound from low to high. It is amazing to think of
the sound I was missing in my music for all of these years by not
using the earphones. My music has come alive and it sounds as if I
am listening to it for the first time again.
Ultimate ears has some issues with the cord breaking, but customer
service is amazing and they replace the cord free of charge
everytime it breaks. I am not gentle on my earphones since i use
them at the gym, so I expect some sort of wear and tear. Their
cords do break more frequently than all other earphones I have
used, but every set i have used has been returned at some point or
another with exception to the grados since i only use those at work
or at home.
If you have extra money to spend and love listening to music, the
superfi 10s are the answer you are looking for. Dont take years to
get to the final answer like I did.
"These are great headphone but just
overpriced!!!" 2009-12-22
By
Michael A. Cose (Sioux Falls)
Most of the view here have been pretty good explaining these
headphone. So I won't get into the spec of these. I paid the $99.00
them and that just the price that they should be at. They are great
sounding but not for $338.00 to $400.00. It took me awhile to find
the right tip that would be comfortable for my ear and put it
around my ear which was a interesting but I found that did the
trick. The sound is ok but is does not knock it out of the ball
park. These are great made headphone. But to be honest w/u I can
only give it a 4 out of 5 because of the price and of course I got
them on the Amazon Gold box which I would never buy for the price
they are offering now...So If you are going to buy these goes to
the seller who has brought these and are selling them now!
"Great sound for the price of an OK
construction." 2009-12-22
By
Harris Noor
I just got the Triple Fi's in the mail today. Unfortunately,
Amazon's shipment on these were horrible. They took about 3 week to
eventually ship these out. So that is a downfall on Amazon's part.
Right out the box, these are beauties. They looked as nice as they
could look. Very sheen blue finish on the main body and tough build
on the wire setup. The head phones have this flexible fix wire. The
main body wires are thick and resistant to wear and tear. At all
first looks, it was flawless. Beautiful and conventional
design.
However, sticking it into my ear there were problems. With my
Klipsch S4's, they usually slip right into the ear providing
unbelievable sound isolation. It may just be my ears, but the fit
for these don't automatically just slip into place. The size and
weight of these kind of weighs down the fit into the canal, so
unfortunately the foam tips aren't my favorite for sound isolation.
Neither were the small ones. Surprisingly, the reviews that said
that these were to big wasn't the problem. It was the fact that
these kind of protrude out much more than I expected.
After a few hours of fiddling around with I noticed how I liked
these to fit into my ears. I fit them like i fit my S4's where they
are kind of below, what they would call, the Tragus. It is towards
the front of the concha. So the Earbuds kind of sit in the "ear
notch" resting itself on the anti-tragus. Take a look at the
anatomy of the ear, trust me it is well worth it if these are going
to be your first pair of headphones. If you don't get the right fit
you will never like your headphones. The recommended way to wear
the Klipsch S4's is to wear them right side up with the wire
hanging straight down. However, it doesn't provide the proper sound
isolation. Wrapping it over the ear and having it placed in the ear
notch slips it DEEP into the ear canal.
The same applies to these. Having the Triple Fi's in the Ear Notch
allows the bud to fit very snug into the ear canal providing
unbelievable sound isolation. However, compared to the S4's the
sound isolation wasn't that great. Please consider that I am using
the Medium black silicon ear tips on the Triple Fi's and the Medium
Clear Oval Plastic tips on the Klipsch S4's.
Enough about the physical features without music. Putting music on,
there are highlights in all the highs, mids, and lows. The S4's
were a little short of the highs, but there could only be so much
you could do with a single moving coil driver in each channel; on
the contrary, these have 3 drivers dedicated to each of the
frequencies having a wider range. So those highs on the Triple fi's
don't sound so "Tinny" as they do in the S4's. It's not very
noticeable unless you actually listen for the "Tin" in the
S4's.
I'm comparing these to the S4's because those are basically one of
the best headphones I have gotten so far. I have played around with
QC3's and some E2C's. However, I do have virgin ears, compared to
many of the other reviewers and enthusiasts on here. I only have
one point of view. I rather not compare these to other headphones
or buds that I am not familiar with, as I am familiar with the S4's
as is. The S4's are not a bad set of head phones. Being that these
are $300+ pair of headphones, I most likely will not be traveling
around with these. The S4's will be my next choice. Check out my
review on the S4's. They really aren't a bad pair of buds. If you
want something cheap, those are the way to go. However, if you are
looking for an even quality/price ratio with a bias for quality
then hit up a pair of one of these. I have yet to try the SE530's,
which I intend on trying in the near future.
All in all, These are a great set of ear buds. A little on the
heavy set side, but to pack all three drivers in one channel is
pretty difficult. You sacrifice size for innovation... The fit is
pretty difficult to find. I had to do the entire set of included
tips in order to find the appropriate one. Placing them into the
ear properly is essential, because if you place it into your ear
wrong just leads to decrease in sound isolation and stability in
the ear. The tips also portray the same story. Sound quality is
unbelievable, the drivers have yet to shake once, all the
frequencies are crisp, and sound quality is incredibly clear. The
build is very nice and seems durable. It does seem like the
channels are detachable from the wire itself, so the wire may be
replaceable if you run into wire problems in the future, which also
may be a large plus for a lot of individuals who snag a lot. Big
Kudos to UE.
"Nice sound, but definitely
overpriced!" 2009-12-22
By
Rean Al Happiness (Madison, WI)
I just purchased these guys on that crazy deal for $100 and am
rather happy with the sound, but especially happy that I didn't pay
full price for them, because if I would have I probably send them
back. They certainly have very nice detail and stage sound. I have
owned Shure E2c, Shure E3c, and Klipsch custom 2, klipsch custom 3,
and sennheiser CX-300B.
Out of all of these headphones, these have the best detailing and
they sound true to each frequency/instruments. However, I do think
the bass is very weak compared to custom 3, and I thought the high
frequencies were a bit fatiguing and harsh sounding compared to the
Shures. These headphones are really a different beast compared to
any other headphone, however, b/c of the three separate
drivers.
I'm not so sure about the quality of construction, either, so I
guess we'll see how they hold up over time. The Shure E3c cable is
a lot thicker and more robust feeling. Overall, I would suggest
surfing for a deal (ebay has these for $150), but definitely do not
pay full price!
"Excellent Earphones!" 2009-12-21
By
A. Thomas (Washington DC)
I do a lot of critical listening, studio recording, and software
composing as well. With that said, please consider that this review
is merely an *opinion* of a single user, and is not meant to be
read as an over-inflated sales pitch, or an emotionally-inspired
put down of the product in any way. I've seen a lot of comparisons
to other specific earphones in the reviews here, so I'm going to
try to avoid the ubiquitous 'my Ford is better than your Chevy'
rhetoric as best I can.
Without further ado...
The pros:
-Incredible sound! Bright highs, without being tinny; solid, punchy
lows, without being boomy; an overall well-balanced presence with
unparalleled clarity.
-Versatility. There are plenty of options for sizing the earbuds,
and they didn't take long to get used to. (although the human
anatomy varies surprisingly in this area, so again, just MY
experience...)
-Tangle-free cord. This has been the bane of my commuting existence
for years! Anyone who takes public transportation knows that
untangling headphones while the bus/train is jerking around is a
real pain in the you-know-what. These actually deliver on their
promise, so you can do less untangling, and more relaxing.
-The extension cord. Yeah, I know, big deal, right? Well, actually
this cord is different from many I've owned before in one useful
regard: The plug has a high-quality strain relief, and and L-shaped
moulding at the male plug end. This is a great benefit to those who
use iPods/iPhones where the device often times rests on the plug.
The L-shape keeps the wires from being under constant pressure.
-Semi-rigid cord segments that connect to the drivers let you
custom bend them to a shape that will support the units in an
(optional) over-the-ear configuration.
The cons:
-The size/weight. These guys can get a bit heavy on long trips, and
the large body makes them uncomfortable to lean on. This may not be
a big deal to you, but if you drift off to music, or try to nap on
a plane, you're gonna wish you had something smaller in your
ear.
-OK, this is a real lame con, but the color. They look decent in
the photo, but they are actually kinda ugly. Doesn't bother me that
much, but I'm sure it will bother someone.
-The nifty metal box. Yes, it is nice to have, but it's not very
practical. If you want to put your earphones in them, you had best
take most of the other stuff out.
-Finally, the price. $400 is a LOT of money to spend on ear buds.
Yes, these are "professional in-ear monitors", but at the end of
the day, these are really being marketed for use with mobile audio
devices.
Here's what comes in the package:
The earphones
1 extension cord (with L-shaped plug)
1 metal storage case (with rubber seal)
1 1/4" to 1/8" adapter plug
2 replacement sets of "comply" foam tips
3 sets of silicone tips (for those who don't want to use the foam
tips) -- sizes small, medium, and large
1 airplane attenuator - This is just a couple of resistors in a
pigtail designed to keep you from blasting your eardrums out when
you're on a plane and can't judge volume levels as well.
1 cleaning tool - Uhhh. Yuck. :o) I just use Q-tips...
1 Instruction sheet
So far, I have tested these out on a home stereo system, my MBP, a
Windows PC, and my iPod touch. All sound MUCH better now! That
pretty much sums it up. If you can get past the size/weight and
high cost, these are outstanding earphones.
Hope this helps!

"Great
find!" 2009-12-21
By Oliver G. Loughner (Cleveland, OH USA)
Item was just what I needed, arrived in excellent condition in a
very short time.

"I passed the
test" 2009-12-15
By
Alan J. Brady (Italy)
First let me say I passed the test handily with this book being my
primary resource so it served its purpose although I have had
experience configuring and managing LAN/WAN's. I do have some
suggestions for improvements:
The included CD is geared to Windows users. I could open the PDF
image files of the book, but the utilities were useless and, more
importantly, the practice tests nowhere to be found.
The network diagrams in the book use non-standard and inconsistent
symbols even though the author recommends using the standard CISCO
symbols in the section on diagramming your network under network
management.
Chapter sections and subsections typically use the same size and
weight font so it can be difficult to determine if a topic is
subservient to a previous topic.
"Great
book" 2009-12-01
By
Johnson Yip (Vancouver, Canada)
I highly recommend this book. It is easy to read, and there are a
lot of diagrams. The only thing I dislike about the book is the
pictures are in Black and white.
"Great Book, Below Average
CD" 2009-11-30
By
Granite Gov'ner (USA)
Fantastic book with great explanations that include helpful
drawings. It covers everything you need to know in an
easily-readable fashion. I would have given this book 5 stars hands
down, but the test engine in the book was not good. It has good
questions but only 1 practice test and one regular test. I found
out there are only 50 questions loaded and it shuffles them for the
different tests. I did pass the Network+ first try but I was very
nervous due to the lack of questions I had. I would recommend using
additional software or focusing heavily on the in-book questions.
The CD questions are very good; there just aren't many of them.
"Good, but may need more
resources" 2009-11-23
By
Nanouk (Alaska)
Having read through this exam guide cover-to-cover, and having over
20 years of networking, internet, and telecommunications
experience, this is a solid book for preparations to take the
CompTIA Network+ exam. However, if you don't have significant
experience in the area of networking or internet, you will need to
increase your chances for passing the new 2009 Network+ exam by
visiting other sites on the Internet particularly in the following
areas:
* subnetting
* network security
* Local area network concepts
These topics can be researched very easily with an advanced Google
search on the listed topics.
The rest of the topics for the 2009 CompTIA Network+ exam appear to
be adequately covered. Mr. Meyers did an excellent job on the book,
and should be commended.
I rate the book: 8 out of 10.

"A very
smooth and responsive gaming keyboard" 2009-12-22
By Brian Reaves (Anniston, AL USA)
When keyboards can be purchased from an outlet store for less than
ten bucks, you need a good reason to spend a lot more than that on
one. The G110 gives you those reasons. While it's not really a
perfect keyboard, it's perfect for a gamer. You can store three
completely different profiles available to you at the touch of a
button. Each profile comes with 12 "G Function" keys that can be
individually programmed with macros of keystrokes to help speed up
your gaming. You can shoot first, move faster, or just make your
character dance the best moves with the touch of one button. You
can even assign a color for the profile that changes the colors of
all your keys (though the colors are limited to red, purple, or
blue...even if you try to do a custom color).
There is a USB plug on the keyboard itself so you can plug your
mouse or jump drive directly into it. That's a really convenient
thing. Also, there's a switch on the keyboard that disables the
"Windows" and "Menu" keys so you don't accidentally hit them while
gaming and knock yourself out of the game. The audio controllers on
the board are nice as well. You can plug a headset and microphone
into the keyboard, as well as control your media player or iTunes
through it. There is a one-button mute for the headset and
microphone that makes it easy to return to the "real world" while
gaming and not say the wrong thing to your teammates.
All in all, that's a lot to like!
Now for the not-so-good: The keys themselves take a little getting
used to. They really didn't seem as responsive in everyday typing
as the much cheaper keyboard I replaced. The lighted keys are a
cool concept, but the glow is very minimal and unless you're in a
completely dark room you won't really notice it. Also, it comes
with a wrist rest that's supposed to snap on the front, but it
doesn't fit. The clips on the rest don't match up with the holes on
the bottom of the keyboard. None of those things are necessarily
deal-killers when considering the keyboard though. Still, for the
money you'd think they'd have done a better job with the wrist
rest.
I've been fortunate enough to use a lot of Logitech gear on my
computers, and I can safely say this keyboard--even with its
shortcomings--is one of the best I've used and holds up perfectly
with Logitech's other gaming equipment like the mouse and headset.
Well worth the investment!

"For the price, a good
buy" 2009-12-20
By
T. Kunikov (United States)
At the moment I am using Logitech's G19 keyboard, similar to the
G110, although with the addition of an LCD screen (but honestly,
the screen has limited uses). The overall feel of the keyboard is
solid. The wrist attachment, however, is a different story. I don't
know how or when, but in the near future it would be nice if
Logitech could come up with a better construction for this
attachment. I feel that one wrong move, and the plastic attachments
under the keyboard could very easily be broken off. Further,
illuminated keys aren't spectacular, you'll see them in the dark,
but some are lighter than others. Aside from those faults, for the
price this keyboard is being offered, I'd say it's a good choice. I
enjoy all Logitech products, their customer service is excellent,
and their products are just overall well thought-out and produced.
One of the best features, for those using a sound system that
requires you to plug your headphones into the back, is the USB port
and audio port built right into the keyboard! Very useful to not
have a wire hanging around your feet at all times (if your tower is
on the floor that is), or the overall struggle to find the right
jack to plug your headphones into. Programmable keys are great,
take some time to get used to, but prove quite useful when needing
shortcuts, etc. So, overall, a good effort on Logitechs part and a
worthwhile purchase if you can overlook the minor flaws.
"Good mid-sized gaming keyboard.
Some flaws." 2009-12-19
By
D. Hentze (United States)
The G110 is a good mid-sized gaming keyboard, but it has its flaws.
Size wise, it's a little small for a gaming keyboard, but I like
the way it doesn't take up my entire desk. The backlit key have
very good response and feel, but as others have pointed out, they
are very dim. I've also noticed that some keys aren't evenly lit,
or only partially lit. You can change the color of the keys which
is nice, but a dimmer to adjust the brightness would have been more
useful. The keyboard has a good amount of media and macro keys. It
has a high-speed USB 2.0 hub port which is useful for plugging in
your mouse, etc. It also has a mic and headphone jack. The volume
control on the keyboard is a nice size, and isn't overwhelming like
it is on some of the Microsoft gaming boards. The keyboard has two
pop-up feet which I find totally useless. It barely makes a
difference whether they're used or not. The G110 is a good
keyboard. It has some nice features and performs well. It has its
flaws and doesn't seem as well built as some of the more expensive
keyboards. If you're looking for a mid-priced, mid-sized, gaming
keyboard though, the G110 does get the job done.
"Solid keyboard but backlight way
too dim" 2009-12-18
By
Scott (NJ)
I wanted this because of its backlight keys but am a bit
disappointed because they aren't bright enough for me. Its great
that you can change their colors from blue, red and purple but
there should be the option of brightness too. I think mine is
defective because about half of the keys randomly throughout the
keyboard look like they have grease stains on them. Its not grease
but possibly some kind of plastic discoloration as they didn't wipe
clean. But looking at them makes you think someone was eating
greasy fried chicken or french fries when they made it.
It has tons of buttons, more then i'll ever need or use. It has a
full set of keys including the number pad on the right which I use
all the time. It also has volume controls as well as the usual
play, rewind, FF etc. A big let down is that while it says its mac
compatible, where's the command key? also there's no eject button.
I might be able to configure some of the extra buttons but its nice
to have a dedicated marked symboled key especially that it's mac
compatible. They keys are quieter than most other keyboards and had
a solid feel. The space bar was just a bit too small for my hands
and the backspace and right side shift keys were a bit bigger then
needed. There is a usb jack built in as well as headphones and mic
jacks. All the programmable keys are done thru the software
provided.
I didn't really get any warm feeling from this keyboard in fact It
was just another keyboard just with the novelty of backlit keys
that were too dim. I really wanted to like this but it needs a
revision to be great.
Pros:
Full size keyboard
Lots of customizable keys
Backlit in 3 colors
Quiet solid feeling keys
USB jack, headphone, mic jack built in
Cons:
Some keys too big and some too small
Backlight is way too dim
Some keys discolored (probably a manufacturing glitch with
mine)
Mac compatible but no designated mac command or eject keys
Expensive
"silver7" 2009-12-16
By
silver7 (knoxville,tennessee)
the g110 is better suited for windows vista, more responsive, and is
smaller in width than the g15. it doesn't have the led display but
i don't need it and never used it in the first place. i think the
different color leds are great, because you can set them up for the
different m settings and you know automatically which setting your
in so you can adjust the board in a flash for the level you want.i
would recommend this product to anyone. it's easy to set up and use
right out of the box. i also found the price less than on other
sites.

"Great
Theater iin a box." 2009-12-21
By Sooner Techy (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma United States)
I purchased this unit at the same time as I purchased a Samsung 55"
LED LCD TV. They work flawlessly together, and through the Any-Net
connection when you turn the TV off while listening to it through
the unit, it turns off as well. It is extremely easy to set-up and
get hooked to my network via the wireless set-up. I also subscribe
to Netflix and it works great to watch all the instant movies in my
que. All in all it has a good sound and takes up very little
space.

"Samsung service is
impossible" 2009-12-17
By
Unhappy with Samsung
Do not buy a Samsung home theater - the company does not stand by
its products! I bought this system through Amazon, and one of the
speakers did not work. Of course, I only found this out after
installing everything in my living room (2 hours or so). At first,
Samsumg assured me that they would send a new speaker. Two months
later (and no new speaker), I am told that I was "misinformed", and
the only solution is to package EVERYTHING back up and send it to
Samsung "for evaluation and possible repair". No amount of begging
on my part can change their mind, they refuse to accept just the
faulty speaker for repair. This policy is so onerous that it is
clearly designed to prevent returns and repairs altogether. Of
course I will not undo my installation and somehow repackage
everything...
So buyer beware: once you buy, Samsung will not replace or repair
their product in any reasonable fashion!
"Great System- Works as
Advertised!" 2009-12-14
By
ESJ (Watertown, NY)
I got this system at Sam's Club on Black Friday for $398. I'm not
sure if this one comes with an Ipod dock, but the one at Sam's did.
It took a couple of hours to set up, and you need to buy the
wireless LAN adapter in order for the Netflix and Pandora to work.
You will also need a good optical audio cable in order to get your
cable box to play through this system. If you buy top of the line
stuff, these things will cost approximately $145 more, but then you
will be all set. I could not be happier with this system.
I looked at several systems to stream Netflix and Pandora, but
ultimately decided on this one because the Black Friday price was
right. The streaming media works perfectly, and the quality of
sound is excellent. This system has everything I wanted and is well
worth the money.
"Good Sound &
Vision" 2009-12-08
By
Bookman (Sarasota, Florida)
Just bought the Samsung HT-BD3252T/XAA Blue Ray Home Theater system
and am pleased with both the sound and vision but am still in the
testing stage. I played the Goodfellas blu-ray dvd last night and
the clarity was everything I could have hoped for. This morning I
played The Allman Brothers "Eat a Peach" and cranked it up while
the wife was away. I did adjust the subwoofer to a highter than
normal setting but could hear Berry Oakley's bass notes better than
any of my previously owned "boxed" systems I've had. I don't have a
ton of money to buy the best of the best audio system but am
enjoying my dvds and music cds on this particular Samsung package.
The assembly took a bit over an hour and was no more difficult than
other systems I have put together. I am still learning how to use
the remote as it is supposed to sync up with the Samsung TV remote
so that only one needs to utilized. I did not grade this unit a 5
because I could not compare it to other systems currently for sale
but "I like it".
"Very good sound quality, with a
few flaws" 2009-12-08
By
Andrew Dennard (FL, USA)
I purchased this system to replace an aging Sony DVD home theater
system. The short of it is that I am very pleased.
Pros:
-The sound quality is very good and the audio intelligibility is
great (exspecially in comparison to the Sony system I am
replacing.
-Sound intelligibility is a very important metric that often gets
overlooked. If you find yourself saying "What did they say?" while
watching movies, your system is probably lacking in this
quality.
-I wasn't honestly that interested in a Blu-Ray player, but since I
was getting a new system, it seemed to make sense. I gotta say, I'm
sold on the technology. If you think HD cable is good, trust me,
Blu Ray will really impress (Get Planet Earth: The Complete BBC
Series [Blu-ray] and watch in awe!)
-The network abilities are great. Accessing computers, Pandora,
BlockBuster, and NetFlix streaming services was easy and the
quality of audio and video is great compared to other devices with
similar abilities.
Cons:
-The front information display could use more information. I find
that the surround sound mode has a tendency to switch around based
on different inputs and the only way to see the status
(Stereo/Surround/Surround Mode) is to change it resulting in muting
the audio for short periods.
-Similarly, the onscreen controls only work in Blu Ray mode, and
provide very minimal access to adjustments. This is odd, because
Samsung put a lot of effort into the design of these menus, they
just don't offer any useful settings in them!
-The wireless rear speaker unit range should be better. If it is
hidden behind something, it will likely loss signal even in a
relatively small room. I think they could have improved this a
great deal by simply putting the transmitter on the front of the
main unit instead of behind and amongst all the interference of the
speakers and other connectors.

"Great
Product" 2009-12-04
By Darren Wilber (WI USA)
Great product at a great price. I am no audiophile, but this system
sounds good. Nice deep bass and good treble. Plenty loud for any
normal sized room. A remote that looks good and works well. I am
very happy with this purchase.

"Great
Speakers" 2009-11-24
By
Scott Gordon (Utah, USA)
These speakers have great sound and are not big and bulky. The
sound is best at below mid-level but overall, I am very happy with
them.

I am a teacher and made this purchase for my classroom. Other
reviewers said that the speakers weren't that loud and I agree.
These certainly are plenty loud for my purposes. The sound quality
is very good. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

"Great for the
price" 2009-11-06

Like others have said, what are people expecting for under a
100.00? Considering the cost, and size of the speakers, the sound
was great. A very respectable bass sound, warm and musical, without
being too boomy. (unless you get crazy with the bass control). I
did hear a small hole in the crossover frequencies between the sub
woofer and mid-range drivers, but it was not objectionable, in my
opinion. If these were 200.00 or more, I would probably be
bothered. Also, the bass/volume control remote is a handy feature.
Especially the headphone output on it. The design is attractive,
and the build quality was excellent for the price range. It is
compact enough to fit nicely on (and under) my computer desk. I am
very happy with the purchase, and recommend it to anyone who needs
speakers for their computer, and even for listening to music (as a
secondary music source.)
