Mystery Celeb Negotiating Herpes Settlement

Sources connected with the mystery celebrity herpes lawsuit tell TMZ … the lawyer for the person who allegedly contracted herpes during a Las Vegas romp has been negotiating a financial settlement with the celeb. And, by the way, the incident DID NOT OCCUR ON APRIL 1.
Our sources say before the lawsuit was filed, attorney Keith Davidson contacted the celebrity’s rep and began negotiating a settlement, but the amount was “way too low” for the plaintiff. We’re told Davidson then decided to file the lawsuit “as a warning shot across the bow.”
After the suit was filed, our sources say negotiations have continued and the celeb has upped the settlement ante, although the parties are still far apart.
TMZ broke the story … Davidson filed the suit on behalf of an unnamed plaintiff, claiming the celeb — also unnamed — assured the plaintiff before having sex that he was herpes-free. The suit claims the celeb gave the plaintiff herpes.
Now get this … TMZ has learned the alleged sexual encounter occurred LONG BEFORE APRIL 1, 2011. The suit claims the incident occurred “on or before April 1.” We’re told the actual incident occurred many months before April 1, but attorney Davidson intentionally put April 1 so reporters would not begin speculating who was in Vegas and who might be the culprit.

Lady Gaga is many things to many people. She’s a pop star, a fashionista and a voice for those who feel they can’t speak for themselves. In her video for “Judas,” she took on a new role: Mary Magdalene. MTV News caught up with both Judas (Norman Reedus) and Jesus (Rick Gonzalez) from the clip, and they shared what Gaga is really like to work with.
“Gaga’s a super cool girl from New York,” Reedus said. “She’s religious; she does prayers. We have some mutual friends, I think. She says prayers with her people before she goes out onstage, I’ve heard, and she’s very much a group player. And she’s not weird at all. She’s actually an artist who believes in what she’s doing and really takes the bull by the horns and is not afraid to say what she wants to say.”
His “Judas” co-star, Gonzalez, said that a lot of her coolness is reflected in her partnership with creative director Laurieann Gibson. “When I first met [Gaga], she was very passionate and very driven. I was really impressed and found a newfound respect for her, because she’s such a hardworking woman and so dedicated and very creative,” Gonzalez said. “And her, with Laurieann, they make such a great team together.
“I think you’re going to see a lot more amazing things with them, ’cause they totally have this synergy,” he continued. “And I’ve overheard them say it: They’re totally going to do a lot more things together. So I’m excited to see what that’s stuff going to be. … It’s really impressive.”
While a lot of the time Gaga seems to offend someone with what she’s doing, Reedus said that’s not her intention.
“She’s cool enough where she’s just not trying to offend people to offend people. I mean, who does that? She’s actually super talented and she’s a machine,” Reedus said. “That girl works really, really hard. … I felt sort of lazy around her. It was kind of inspiring.”

Man, I’m so irritated.
I just received four pets tags that I ordered for Bev and Mary Margaret (two for Brooklyn and two for LA) and they’re all messed up. Not only did they leave off the “Margaret” on Mary Margaret’s tags, but the text isn’t centered correctly and runs off the right side on all four of them. (The last letter of the address is cut in half.) The tags themselves are also ugly. The edges aren’t smoothed out… they look like someone just cut them from a piece of sheet metal and called it a day.
So anyway, I got them this morning on my way to Starbucks (yesterday’s mail), so while I was there, I started drafting a strongly-worded letter in my head, like what I was going to say to these people when I sent them back.
And then I saw it.
In tiny print on the bottom of the invoice it said, “Our handicapped employees appreciate your order.”
So now I can’t send them back. If I did I’d be a total asshole.
I’m just going to order new ones from someplace else. Any recommendations?

Earlier this week, Britney Spears, Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj dropped their femme-fatale-friendly remix of the Spears club track “Till the World Ends.” The already fun song got super-charged thanks to Minaj’s cutting verses and Ke$ha’s recognizable vocals.
“I’m a massive fan of both the ladies I share the track with,” K told MTV News on Wednesday at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards. “I wrote ‘TTWE’ for Britney with [producers] Dr. Luke and Max [Martin] and she killed it and I loved it, but I just thought a supergroup of three hot, strong women could just take over the airwaves.”
Ke$ha went on to give props to both the ladies. “I’m such a massive fan of Britney and I’m such a massive supporter of Nicki and a fan, and chicks sometimes don’t team up. I don’t know why, but I’m, like, huge on the girl power, so I just wanted to make a power girl track take over.”
The remix quickly won praise from fans who seem to think the new features step up the song’s game. “You know, with the three of us, I wasn’t necessarily surprised [people like it] because I’m such a massive fan of Nicki Minaj and obviously with Britney I’m a fan of it, [taking] myself out of the equation,” she said. “I’m just happy people like it.”
So did Ke$ha (who once sang backup for Spears) feel any pressure writing a song for Britney? “There was no pressure. Writing for somebody else is really fun ’cause I consider myself a songwriter first and foremost,” she explained. “So it was so much fun to put my brain in the sexy Britney Spears brain and express myself almost as if I were possessed by her.”

Lady Gaga To Release New Born This Way Single ‘Hair’

As Lady Gaga ramps up for the May 23 release of her highly anticipated Born This Way, she’s set to drop another track from the album on Monday, a single called “Hair.”
Like “The Edge of Glory,” which Gaga released this past Monday, this song also features sax player Clarence Clemons of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band and harks back to a different era of pop.
According to a press listening in February, “Hair” draws inspiration from Pat Benatar’s ’80s classic “We Belong,” while thematically it focuses on empowering lyrics similar to those of “Born This Way.” Gaga’s been talking about the track for some time now. On Ryan Seacrest’s radio show earlier this year, she revealed some of the lyrics: “This is my prayer, that I’ll die living just as free as my hair.”
“It’s really up-tempo. It’s a club record, but has a Bruce Springsteen vibe,” she explained. “It’s really interesting because it’s putting sax on a huge dance record.” In an interview with radio station Z-100, she added, “Some of those themes are explored more on this album. To put my money where my mouth is.”
Billboard.com reported that fans who buy all the Born This Way singles can purchase the entire album at a reduced price on the day of release on iTunes using the Complete My Album feature.
For excited fans who are wondering why Gaga is releasing some BTW tracks in advance, this has always been the singer’s plan. In February, she revealed, “I’m gonna be releasing about two to three songs before the album comes out on iTunes.”
