When should I apply for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship?

Students must apply during their senior year in high school or forfeit all future eligibility for a Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. Students can speak with their high school guidance counselor for more information on the application process.

1. A student can apply for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship by completing the Initial Student Florida Financial Aid Application during his/her last year in high school.
2. A student may apply online at www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org beginning December 1st of his or her senior year in high school.

In 1997, the Florida Legislature created the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program to reward students for their academic achievements during high school by providing funding to attend postsecondary education in Florida.

Education in General

St. Petersburg College offers so many opportunities in distance learning. I have taken 20 classes there and every one was online. It was so convenient! I got the credits I needed for my AA and it got me into USF so I’m happy. I would have stayed for my Bachelor’s in Education but they don’t offer it in Social Sciences…oh well. I’d highly recommend SPC, especially if you are interested in online learning!
