Now you can get those pictures or videos with artistic angles,
mounts to almost anything and everything. Your Imagination is the
Limit!
This compact clamp is made in the USA, VERY well built, small
enough to fit in you pocket.
It allows a camera or camcorder that has a tripod mount, to be
solidly attached to a table, car window, handlebar, skateboard,
hand glider, tree branch, park bench, shopping cart, so on and so
forth (you get the idea), using a standard 1/4"-20 threaded quick
connect screw, just like any camera tripod. Strong enough for most
cameras or camcorders, it attaches to either round or flat objects
from 0" to 1.5" thick, with rubber on both sides of the clamp, it
will not scratch or slip. It utilizes a ball and socket mount to
allow the camera maximum flexibility in framing the subject.

(More customer
reviews)Where I am coming from:
I was an early adopter of the Panasonic GF1 with the 20mm f/1.7
lens and I own another major brand DSLR. I have been a careful
follower of the Micro Four Thirds standard since it was announced
because I was tired of carrying around my large D-SLR and
assortment of big heavy lenses. As such, I use my Micro Four Thirds
camera when I won't be doing heavy shooting so I tend to put more
emphasis on form factor. I recently evaluated the Panasonic
14-140mm (you can look up my review of the lens).
Summary:
This lens is an amazing form factor for its capability. This
belongs on every portable Micro Thirds Camera.
What I LIKE about this lens:
1. FORM FACTOR- It's remarkable to think that you can get so much
capability into such a small package. The collapsible design is
brilliant. When not in use, the majority of the lens can be
retracted. A clever switch prevents "unintentional retractions"
while shooting. It reminds me of how some point and shoot lenses
retract when switching off. I hope to see more lenses for the Micro
Four Thirds standard capable of doing such. When collapsed, this
lens measures only 43mm long and only weighs 150g.
2. RANGE - From a 35mm camera perspective, the 2x crop factor makes
this lens a 28-84mm equivalent. The 14-42mm range is incredibly
useful. Most casual photography can be performed with this lens. I
used it for a brunch with family and some walkaround
photography.
3. PRICE - I think this lens can sell for significantly more given
that its competition is really not much better but much bigger
& heavier. It is an incredible value.
4. COMPATIBILITY - Micro Four Thirds standard seems to be working.
I experienced no focus problems using this lens on the Panasonic
GF1.
What I did NOT LIKE about this lens:
1. SOFTWARE DISTORTION CORRECTION - The Panasonic & Olympus
Micro Four Thirds camera use software to correct for lens
distortion. The camera software is not currently correcting for
lens distortion. This may be a temporary issue, as of this morning,
Panasonic released a firmware update for its Micro Four Thirds
cameras. As such, I will not make any deductions in rating.
2. FRINGING - There is some minor color fringing issues so there
can be a perceived lack of sharpness on certain shots. But, to make
this comment on a kit lens is being pretty picky.
3. PLASTIC - Helps with keeping the lens light but it could be less
durable and could wear down more rapidly after sustained use.

Zuiko Digital Zoom Lens (Black)
The Olympus Zuiko Digital 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6, 3x Standard Zoom Lens
is the smallest and lightest in its class and features a closest
focusing distance of only 25cm. The ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and
two aspherical lens elements correct aberrations without increasing
lens dimensions. The circular aperture diaphragm enables beautiful
defocusing - one of the big advantages of this lens. Excellent
mobility is assured by a weight of less than 190 grams.

- 5 Year Extended Warranty Plan
In today?s day and age of high tech gadgets and emerging
technologies one thing is certain; people are relying more and more
on consumer electronics and home appliances in our daily lives than
ever before. Of course, we all expect the products we buy to
perform well and serve us throughout the years, but in reality
consumer electronics malfunction all the time. We often buy
consumer electronics or appliance products based solely on the name
brand. This is because we either feel comfortable with the quality
the manufacturer produces or we take comfort in knowing that in the
event of a malfunction the manufacturer will stand by their product
and make the necessary repairs. Most manufacturers? written
warranties offer fantastic parts and labor protection. However, the
duration of this coverage under the written warranty is often far
too short (e.g. 90 days parts or 1 year parts and labor).
Manufacturers strategically limit their liabilities in order to cut
down their final cost price and make their products more attractive
to the marketplace. Let's face the facts. If you are like most of
us, you are not expecting to buy a new Camera , Camcorder or any
other major appliance every single year. You want to buy the new
product and use it for as many years as it will last. There is only
one way for a consumer to be certain that the product you are
purchasing will be functioning to factory specifications in say 4
or 5 years from now. This Extended Service Plan offers you the
identical high quality protection as the manufacturer?s written
warranty did. This plan extends your coverage for up to 5 (five)
full years after the manufacturer?s written warranty expires.

(More customer
reviews)Why doesn't every camera come with a strap like
this? Actually, my original Canon S80 did, but, sadly, we don't see
this style very prevalent amongst today's cameras. In fact, if you
do some checking, you might find, as I did, that this is one of the
ONLY handstraps for a point and shoot camera that contains the all
important slider piece which allows you to tighten the strap onto
your wrist so that the strap (and the camera) doesn't slide off
your hand at the first moment you aren't paying attention.
Once you use a design like this, you'll scratch your head in
incredulity as to why it is not "standard issue" for all wrist
straps. The problem with the wrist strap, of course, is that it
slides off your hand almost as easily as it slides on, with the
potential result being a dropped camera. With the inclusion of the
1 cent slider on the strap, you are able to slide the strap on and
then more securely affix the strap to your wrist, making for a
better shooting experience and a great deal more measure of
security.
Grab one or two of these while they are still available. Why four
stars instead of five? Well, because (and I'm being picky here) the
strap is not flat (it uses a standard round rope-style format). The
flat style is a bit more comfortable over the long term, and hence,
the deduction of one star. However, the ability to secure strap to
your hand with the slider is a much more important factor. Highly
recommended.

is how good the price was...
I keep it in my car to keep available in case of a charging
emergency.
I tried it and was a little worried when I only saw two power
contacts to the battery BUT IT ACTUALLY CHARGED MY BATTERY (SLOW
CHARGE). No problems, I would recommend it for Panasonic Lumix
cameras.
Mine is a LX3 prosumer (newer battery than TZ series).

(More customer

came on time, but the memory card was defective. I must say however
that the customer service from the Company was great. I was not
able to check the card within the 7 day return policy time, so I
did not bother to contact the Seller, and just did a review.
Company called and apologized and indicated that they would gladly
ship a replacement card the next day which they did, (even though
it was long after the 7 day return time). Got the new card quickly
and it works perfectly.
So for the customer service and the new card I give more than 5
stars - for the original item I still give 3 1/2 stars even though
the original card (which is what I really needed) was defective,
since it also came with a card reader and a neat memory card/card
reader case.
I would still do business with this company again, and recommend
it.

(More customer
reviews)The exemplary build quality gives this camera a
luxury feel. The camera is dense, feels hefty for its size when
picked up, unlike many similar cameras that feel like a piece of
plastic. This is a fine example of Japanese craftsmanship. It is
fast and very responsive in operation. The lens is fantastic, 25mm
(effective) wide angle is rare among such cameras, significantly
wider angle than the 28mm of the FX33. In wide angle lenses every
mm counts. Thankfully, the max aperture is back to f/2.8 - the FX35
maxed at f/3.3. The lens is sharp edge to edge with very little, if
any, in the way of distortion and chromatic aberration. Certainly,
the lens is better than the sensor. The wide aperture (f/2.8) at
the wide angle is great for low light [The lenses on the FX35, TZ3,
TZ4 and TZ5 are not as fast].
The flash is weak [manufacturers under-power the flash in order to
gain on the "shots per battery charge" scale.].
Hints: In low light, including indoor shots with flash, use the
wide angle (zoom out) to make use of the f/2.8 aperture, and you'll
get fewer dark underexposed pictures. Stick with ISO 100 and 200.
Keep ISO 400 for emergencies, but never go beyond 400. In auto-ISO
mode, you can limit the max ISO. You probably read a lot about
image noise. Yes, it is there, but you will not see it in 4x6 or
8x10 prints. You won't see it on a typical 20" monitor (12"x16")
when viewing the whole image on the screen. You will see it if you
view part of the image 1:1, which amounts to close up inspection of
a 57"x38" print (assuming the monitor is running at 1024x768).
Those wanting 57"x38" prints will be using a medium-format digital
back, not this camera anyway. Reduce the resolution to 3 or 5 mp
and you'll see less noise (per pixel), and save hard disk
space!
I recommend an extra battery and a 4 GB memory card (minimum).
Optical image stabilization is very effective indeed. Video
(1280x720x30) is very good.
I took out one star for: 1) Lack of full manual controls, 2) sensor
noise.
This camera needs a larger sensor.
The more expensive TZ3, TZ4 and TZ5 lack the f/2.8 aperture (they
max at f/3.3).
If you like the size and build-quality of the FX37, but want a
better picture-taking machine, look at the LX3. It has a larger
sensor, manual controls, RAW, and an excellent 24-60mm (equiv)
f/2-2.8 lens. The LX3 is destined to be a big hit.
