(More customer
reviews)I researched many variations/prices on this kind
of product. I like to keep it simple. This was one of the least
expensive, so I had nothing to lose. However, it's a quality item.
The handles are strong and covered with soft foam that don't hurt
the palms or digs into the fingers. The nylon straps, black not
red, are thick enough to support my weight (185lbs) and are similar
to the ones on large duffle bags. The door anchor is the shape of a
mini-dumbbell and has not damaged the door jam. Using my body
weight, varying angles, and distances from the door that opens out
(more secure and less chance of the door flying open), I get an
effective sculpting/toning workout with a definite cardio edge,
too. It's like isometrics in motion. The instruction book has a
nice layout: introduction, check with your doctor section, safety
tips, workout suggestions, breathing tips, and a step by step
picture manual of 13 exercises, and a six day menu plan. I haven't
seen the DVD, but the manual is pretty self-explanatory. Excellent
alternative for the person on the go, or someone that is bored with
their current exercise program.

(More customer

Fanatics. I ordered this item on Dec. 19 and it arrived today. For
only a $5 shipping charge, that was pretty impressive considering
this is just a few days before Christmas. Well done!
The bag is wonderful quality. I wanted it to wear when I
cross-country ski and stuff my ski coat in when it is ready to come
off. The double straps on both sides insure the bag will not slip
off my shoulders. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is I
wish it had a bigger gusset for expansion to carry additional
items.

(More customer
reviews)I purchased one of these for my wife for
Christmas last year. After getting it in the house we wondered what
the SMELL was. It turns out to be related to this mat. We left it
outside when we could for the first month or two, unzipped, hoping
the nasty chemical odor would go away. It never did. It was strong
enough that you could sense it when you walked in the room, and we
didn't want to be in the same room with it. The smell seems to come
from the foam inside the zipped sections. I can't tell you what it
is, but you won't like it.
The mat spent the summer outside and is now out in the shed. It's
been unzipped for months and it still smells. It will go to the
Goodwill or the dump. This is another great example of Chinese junk
that's not worth the money you spend on it, and it may carry
additional health risks as well. Don't buy this to exercise to keep
healthy. Go breath some clean air instead!

(More customer
reviews)...right off the bat, if you do calf raises
you'll need more than this. You'll do a lot more weight with
shoulder shrugs than you think too.
Mine didn't come with instructions. You have to take the rod block
off the machine so you can get to the bottom of it to put in the
screws. Just pop out the two covers (I used a flat screwdriver to
pry them out), insert the rods, and put a philips screw into the
bottom of the block to hold the rod in (screws are included).

(More customer
reviews)The product is fine IF they send you all the
parts you need. I received my shipment on May 4th. I immediately
started opening it and putting it together. I got to STEP 4 in the
directions and realized I didn't have the part to do that step,
then I took inventory and realized that I didn't have many crucial
parts. That very day I called their customer service number and got
a message. You will never get to speak to a person when you call,
trust me I tried many times. Nobody called me back, so I emailed
them and no response for 4 days. I emailed again. To make a long
story short. This company played games for 2 straight weeks. They
claimed they never received my email, only to later respond to me
through that "lost" email. I threatened them with calling my credit
card coming and filing a claim. They emailed me again, only to
delay that action, because it's nearly impossible to dispute a
credit charge 30 days after purchase. Meanwhile, I had boxes and
parts sitting in the middle of my room the whole time. Finally, I
put in a claim with amazon. Amazon wanted to ship me a new one or
refund my money, but for both options...they wanted me to ship this
stuff back to them...ON MY DIME! I told them to "talk to this
company and straighten it out. How many other customers would
amazon let this happen to?" The very next day is when I got
contacted by this company and given actual information about where
my parts were and that they would be coming. I would never, ever
buy from this company again. It's a shame because for the money the
gym isn't bad, but if you don't get your parts....don't say I
didn't warn you.

(More customer
reviews)Purchased for $995.
Assembly: I found it to be rather easy. There are only two sizes of
bolts/nuts for the entire machine. The larger for all of the
serious connections and the smaller for attaching pads etc. Having
built a para-body machine before, this was infinitely easier. I had
my laptop with the PDF manual (agree it's lame) and then I went on
eBay and found a few for sale with multiple pictures, this really
helps as you can just pretty much eyeball it. Took about 2 hours to
get it completely built.
Operation: It works as advertised, a smooth leverage machine. It is
really focused on major muscle work and can handle a lot of weight.
I have the older version apparently. The bench press bench is a bit
difficult to adjust and you will have to spend sometime getting
your bench angles/bar right to get full extension, looks like they
changed that some on newer ones. It's uber-safe, no cables, no way
to crush or really even pinch yourself (except for plates). You
might bump your head a few times but my kids use it. The squat rack
is about the best you get for home use.
Quality: I have had no problems with welds etc. It seems very
robust. Since I have had cable machines before, there is no
maintenance with this other than wiping it down now and then which
is nice.

only feels smooth and performs safely, but it's also virtually

(More customer
reviews)My wife has been wanting to buy a Total Gym for
some time now, and we're glad we waited, because the Total Gym 1800
seems a bit better than the 1700 for a very similar price. We had a
hard time finding enough info on the 1800 but decided to take a
chance. Although we're not familiar with the 1700, there doesn't
seem to be anything "missing" and the 1800 does include a few
extras such as larger glide board, and ab boards. It also has leg
pulley kit, one foot harness, dip bars, press up bars, and the wing
accessory, many of which I think are included in the 1700 as
well.
Pluses: Convenient and easy to exercise many different muscle
groups, compact and reasonably priced. Adults and older kids can
use it comfortably. I don't find it difficult to make adjustments
even raising and lowering, but may be difficult for people who
weigh only 100 lbs or less.
Minuses or things that may take some getting used to:
(1) Lot of adjusting required. Different exercises require
different attachments, some of which get in the way of each other
so you don't (can't) have everything permanently attached. At least
with the hitch pins it's easy. What's not so easy is adjusting the
effort level, because the only way to do this is by raising or
lowering the glide table so it's inclined at a different angle (all
exercises require raising your body on the glide table, at a
steeper angle this requires more effort). So where I've started is
level 1 (easiest) for a few exercises, then I adjust to level 3 for
a couple of other exercises. While I do expect to get stronger at
the level 1 exercises, I kind of doubt that I'll ever be at the
same setting for all exercises.
(2) Mechanical design leaves something to be desired. (a) I have
yet to find a good place to keep the handles when not using them so
they just kind of rattle around on the floor. (b) There's a safety
hitch pin, but either I'm not using it right or it doesn't fit well
- there's a hole it seems it should go in, but it either goes in
cockeyed or it bangs up against the main spring loaded pin that
holds one end of the glide table up. (c) There's a velcro pad on
one of the rails, the pulley fitting rubs against this and it's
going to come off sooner or later. (d) There's a foam pad that goes
under the unit. But when you raise or lower the glide table, the
distance between the feet changes and the foam pad shifts around.
Minor nuisance keeping the unit on the foam pad, I'm inclined (no
pun intended!) to get a nice big plywood sheet and keep the Total
Gym on that. (e) Depending on the attachments in use, the
plastic-sheathed cable may rub on the attachment.
(3) At first it was awkward getting started with each exercise, but
I'm getting the hang of it. Seems to help to grab both handles of
the rope-pulley and then adjust your body position. And empty your
pockets ;-)
(4) Be careful with loose hair. First time my wife tried, her hair
got caught in a pulley assembly.
Drawbacks notwithstanding, a good deal for the money.

(More customer
reviews)I've written a review on the e95 as well - I'll
say go read that rather than have me write a complete novel here.
:-)
After deciding the e95 had some features I didn't like and that the
e35 would suit my needs but I'd like just a little beefier machine
and a computer with a numeric keypad - I ordered this one directly
from Sole. The box came... it was HUGE. The delivery guy helped
slide it down our cellar steps so getting it in the house wasn't
too hard but you might want to spring the extra cash for in-home
delivery if your situation is more complicated. (The box is about
the size of a small-ish fridge... I've turned it in to the best box
house ever for my son. If you have kids, they'll love this)
Once it was in - assembly took maybe 2 hours but we weren't exactly
trying to break any records. Assembly is very straight forward and
the nuts and bolts are packaged in a tray with little compartments
so you have just what you need for steps 1, 2, 3, and 4.
One complaint about assembly - this beast is HEAVY. Which is a good
thing, for when you're working out on it - but I look at this thing
and I think, my god, it's never coming back out of this house. We
bought this house 3 months ago and I am not sure it's our "forever"
house. So I wonder if an elliptical adds to the value of a house.
Not that we're going anywhere any time soon with the market having
just dropped but... I do wonder, will it ever come back out.
Working out on this machine is AWESOME. It compares *very*
favorably to the LifeFitness machines I used at the gym before I
got pregnant with my twins. They're now 8 months and I had to stop
using the elliptical pretty early in my pregnancy so I'm really not
in the best shape now - and this machine kicks my butt. Which is
good! But it's kind of humiliating. I am using resistance level 3
for now and hope to get better soon.
So far I only use the manual setting on the computer and my one
complaint is you can't add time on the fly like you could with the
LifeFitness machines. You have to wait until the program is over
and then you can hit "start" to do it again - but it does keep
going from your current distance and calories burned, at least, so
it's LIKE just adding time - it would just be nice to be able to
add time. (For all I know though maybe you can - and I just haven't
figured it out. Such a small annoyance, though!) (Update - I've
figured out if you want, you can just hit "start" twice when you
get on and it will count up, rather than down, so you can just keep
going as long as you like)
All in all I am very pleased with this machine. I can't help but
wonder if the e35 wouldn't have worked out just as well but I
wanted a little beefier flywheel and I have it.
The only mechanical issue we've had with the machine is you need to
keep the tracks greased or it makes a noise like styrofoam coming
out of a cardboard box. EEEK! Machine comes with a tube of grease
(actually a white tube with "LUBE" written on it in large black
letters, the most generic thing you can imagine... we thought it
was hilarious...)
Great machine, very pleased.

Sole E55 Elliptical Trainer
(2009-2010 Model, DISCONTINUED)
Enjoy an efficient full-body workout without heading to the gym
with the Sole E55 elliptical trainer. Boasting a heavy 30-pound
flywheel, a high gear ratio not found on most comparable models,
and a pair of upper body handles, the E55 delivers an extremely
smooth workout with plenty of top-end resistance. Users will also
appreciate the unique oversize and adjustable foot pedals, which
were designed in collaboration with a leading physical therapist
and sports enthusiast. The pedals are not only extra large, but
also feature a 2-degree inward slope that reduces the ankle and
knee stress that's common in other elliptical machines. The
collaboration also produced a revolutionary foot pedal angle
adjustment not found on any other elliptical. Taking into account
that not everyone walks the same way, Sole engineers made the E55's
pedals adjustable to fit the way you walk. This also reduces the
likelihood of numb toes and sore Achilles tendons.
Workout specifics include 16 resistance levels, 10 total programs
(including two custom and two heart-rate programs), and a 20-inch
stride length. Perhaps the handiest feature from a user
perspective, however, is the easy-to-use electronic console, which
integrates a blue backlit LCD display, a cooling fan, and a water
bottle holder. The E55, which offers a maximum weight capacity of
350 pounds, carries the following warranties: lifetime on the

About Sole Sole brings over twenty years of treadmill and fitness
product design and manufacturing to the table in their line of
innovative equipment designed for fitness-conscious people. The
company's treadmill line is simple in design, with an emphasis on
quality and warranty all at a great price. Sole's easy-to-use
treadmills offer a great value and feature a convenient,
space-saving portable design. The treadmills have a very stable
base with four wheels for ease of movement, folding decks to
conserve space, and a 30-year motor and lifetime deck and frame
warranty. Sole is always looking for ways to make their equipment
better, more efficient, with higher quality at a great price.
About Elliptical Trainers Elliptical trainers represent the next
wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines
and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions
experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing,
elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while
building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise
position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing
in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine.
With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot
pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth
and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees,
back, and hips.
Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels
and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline
and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you
to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs,
all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a
magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own
home.
Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment
of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs,
forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a
lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a
monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and
heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and
bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular
training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical
trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower
body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs,
and a low-impact exercise machine that won't strain sensitive
joints.

(More customer
reviews)Did quite a bit of research on pull-up bars
prior to purchasing this one. Wanted something that would mount
nicely and easily in our unfinished basement and did not want to
spend too much money. My wife and I both excercise in a home gym in
our basement and have recently started doing P90X. We quickly grew
tired of lacking this one important component of our nicely
equipped home gym - this pull-up bar was the perfect complement.
Instructions were fairly simple and easy to follow - all hardware
was included and adequate for proper mounting. Took about an hour
to install, only because of the height and tight spot where I was
installing, but otherwise it was a straight-forward installation.
We've been using it for about 5 weeks now and are both happy with
this purchase. The only recommendation would be better grips. Where
you place your hands, the steel is etched/notched but can be a
little hard to hold onto -- foam rubber would have been a nice
addition. We are currently looking for an add-on that won't make
the grip too thick but will provide a bit more comfort. Not sure if
other bars had the foam grip option, but otherwise we are happy
with this pull-up bar and feel it was a decent value for the
money.

(More customer

very easy to assemble you will need a few metrix wrenhes, seems to
be of good quality but time will tell. It is sterdy but still very
light and easy to move I would reccomend this bench.

EF Fitness FID Weight Bench
with Preacher Curl EF-4417
The most common piece of fitness equipment found in any home or
commercial gym is the FID bench. A flat, incline and decline weight
bench allows a myriad of exercises to be performed on one compact
piece of equipment without the need to invest in a separate
apparatus for each station. The EF-4417 is set apart from the rest
by its functionality, reliability and stability. It features a
fully adjustable segmented and ergonomic back pad with multiple
ladder-back adjustments from decline to full military position. In
addition, the 2.5 thick seat adjusts on incline teeth with a steel
pin for proper alignment with the back and/or ankle pads. The 4
adjustable roll pads at the base of the EF-4417 allow you to use
the bench as a decline ab trainer as well as a brace for decline
training. This all enables the EF-4417 to be truly a fully
adjustable, multipurpose FID bench.

(More customer
reviews)This gym is decent once it is put together.
Since it is yet another product made in China, it is not really
Quality Controlled. I had to use a large hammer to fit one of the
top pull-up bars into place. Some of the bolts have damaged
threads. The pads used to hold you in place while doing the leg and
ab workouts get really slippery when wet, so you have to use towels
over them. If your chest is wide like mine, then you will most
likely feel cramped in the device.
Overall though it is not a bad gym. For the price (Under $150), and
if you get free shipping, it is well worth the money. Just expect
to use your own tools and a hammer when putting it together.
