(More customer
reviews)Basically, you're buying a budget webcam with
some fun interactive games for your kids to play with. Don't expect
anything like Wii, X-box, or PS2. There is no serious gaming going
on here. Just fun goofy activities that add up to lots of laughter
and silliness.
The Creative webcam itself is decent. It's a well-built budget
model (Creative Labs VF0040 WebCam Instant) that works for most
home applications like Gamestar, AIM video chat, etc. Creative
drivers are included for use with many different systems, but you
can only use the Gamestar on Windows 2000/XP systems. (Don't know
about Vista.) I like how it's built so you can use in different
positions - either on a table top, on top of a PC, or safely
propped on an LCD laptop screen. You do need some decent lighting,
but I've gotten good results with a small 25 watt table lamp I keep
by my PC. The nice thing is that this webcam is usable with other
programs, it's not locked to just using Gamestar. (Don't expect
razor sharp quality of a video camera - you'll be sorely
disappointed.)
The Gamestar programs are silly fun. There are two sections to
Gamestar - Games and Activities. The Games section is geared for
older kids under 13 and the Activities section is more geared for
pre-schoolers and younger kids; although I don't doubt everyone of
all ages will want to try this and have fun with it - we adults
have had a giggling good time with the games ourselves.
One of my favorite is the picture gallery. There's a couple of
dozen photos where you can have your face superimposed on either
another person, animal, or flower. You can then take a snapshot
that is save on the PC and can be printed. While this is not new
game technology, it's still fun to play with.
Then there's the fish music, karate matches, dancing, and more. All
simple fun - nothing hugely sophisticated, just a lot of eye candy
for kids to add up to lots of movement and giggles. My
four-year-old son has had a great time playing with Gamestar - he
jumps, moves, and laughs at himself being silly and seeing silly
things happen on the computer screen.
The best way to look at this setup is that your buying an
attractive budget webcam with some extra software to add a lot of
fun to your webcam. Young kids, webcam newbies, and even adults of
all ages will likely find something fun with this - even if they
don't want to admit it.

(More customer
reviews)There are alot of bad comments floating around
about the 5450 at the moment. I got one pretty early and I want to
voice my opinion.
1st thing this thing looks AWESOME. forget the size of the 1910
because this looks sleek and stylish....it looks smaller than it
actually is.
second is the speed. its not really slow at all; same speed as 3950
clicking about, and yes its a few frames slower in games.
now onto the good points :) the bluetooth wizard is a snap and i
connected to my t68 in a few minutes. the wifi is also simple once
u understand how it works, and the signal is as good as a laptop
card! however it does kill the battery pretty quick.
next thing; the battery; its **slightly** lower than the 3950 but
only slightly shorter operating time. it is also removable and hp
offer a high capacity battery. the great thing about it is that the
screen is **soo** bright its unbelievable; i never need it higher
than the lowest backlight setting (one above none) because its so
bright so i get about 5 or 6 hours life. if u turn the backlight
off completely (which u can in some situations) u get around 7 to 8
hours life.
the sound is slightly lower than the 3950 but its not like you need
it that loud anyway. i listen to music pretty loud and i never
turned it up to full volume.
the biometric feature is AWESOME once u get the hang, its great
playing with it when u are bored :)
the dpad is a bit stiff to begin with but once u get used to it and
it loosens up it gets more usable - a bit small but i prefer it to
the old ipaqs.
i have 2 negative points:
1. the case that comes with it will scratch the finish on the ipaq
if u take it on and off. so leave it either always off (and get a
new case or none at all) or LEAVE IT ON (i left mine on) or u will
ruin the finish on your ipaq.
2. the video and game speed - its bareable (nowhere near as bad as
e740) but a bit slower than previous ipaqs. hp are addressing this
as i type and once the new driver comes out the 5450 will be the
fastest model out so far.
also in the future you can use this ipaq as a phone aswell. how do
i know? well there is a sim card slot behind the battery, and it
uses a cut down version of pocket pc 2002 phone edition - so in the
future there should be something to allow you to use it as a
phone!!
all in all an awesome product well worth the money; head and
shoulders about the toshiba, the dell and the rest. if u have the
money BUY it u will not regret it. there are a couple of dodgy ones
floating around (with bad screen speed and wifi) but u can return
it if u get one
BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT!!

price. Has a good ram to play any of the games or can be used for

This pc is very good for music and entertainment purposes such as
watching dvd's. One of the advantages of this system is its massive
80 gig hardrive.
The anthlon processor scores a 9/10 on graphics but it heats up
pretty fast.
I think its totally worth its price but if you are willing to spend
a little more I think the Alienware Navigator Pro is a better
deal.

(More customer

realize at the time it was just a faceplate that pushes the
application buttons on the Visor, so I was a little
disappointed--seems like a lot to pay for that. Still, it was nice
for games, making gameplay faster since the joystick appearance is
more intuitive for games than the buttons alone. The SnapNType by
TT Tech is way better though, it's an actual interface that snaps
into the port on the Visor and has a Palm OS driver, rather than
just being a button-pusher. Hopefully Amazon will carry that
soon!

(More customer

writers for over a year. This particular item has dropped from over
$400 to a little more than $200 (with a current $30 TDK rebate and
careful comparison shopping --not neccesarily via Amazon) during
that time. It has many positive points to recommend it, and only a
few minor issues.
Strenghts:
(1) The external option is a blessing if you are not comfortable
with --or simply don't want to spend the time-- messing around
inside your computer. Even though my currrent desktop is homebuilt
and I'm fine with working inside the case, both of my IDE
controller "master" settings are already dedicated (one to the hard
drive, one to an existing CD-RW. The latter is capability I'll want
to retain for a while longer).
(2) The presence of both USB 2.0 and FireWire interfaces adds
obvious flexibility to this unit. Since the data transfer rates are
nearly the same, this is a matter of personal preference (unless
you only have one type available on your computer, of course).
(3) The ability to write in both DVD+RW and DVD-RW formats spares
consumers any painful -and possibly regretable-- "vhs vs. beta"
type decisions as this market segment matures.
(4) This unit shipped with a surprisingly good printed users manual
for both hardware and software operation.
(5) Worked great first time out of the box. Extensive data backups
of up to 4.7 GB on a single DVD....how cool is that!
Nitpicks:
(1) The CD drawer operation is a little on the noisy side.
(2) Personal preference issue: The included burning software is
Roxio's EZ CD Creator. I prefer Ahead Software's Nero package based
on a couple years of experience with both. Your mileage and user
experience may vary, of course.

(More customer

it has 512 mb of internal memory, it has expandable memory, an fm
tuner, an fm recorder, and a voice recorder. However it
alphabetizes your songs. It also sorts your songs by artist. You
cannot move your playlists over from your computer. You also cannot
create your own playlists.
The menu looks like this--
Playlists
Artists
All Tracks
Playlists just sits there like a bump on a log.
The radio is the best part. It gets great reception. Then you can
record all your favorite songs. The headphones are a piece of junk.
The sound is good but they fell out of my ears. The left earpiece
had a sort cord (maybe 3 inches) and the right one had a much
longer one (more than 6 inches). That was also a great
inconvinence. I bought 97 cent headphones from Wal Mart that work
much better.

purchased it to gain thin client experience because they were
designed for 24 x 7 operation.
This unit was purchased "open box" but had the Wyse 3 year
warrantee so I felt the risk was low. I considered a new product
but they are quite expensive. This unit, offered by one Amazon's
partners, was offered at a great price. Regrettably, it arrived DOA
and the Amazon "partner" customer service was below standards. It
was like pulling teeth. The end result was offering customer
service. Fortunately, Wyse customer service was excellent and
honored their commitments to their customers.
The 941GLX works great, with or without a keyboard, mouse, or
monitor. I am utilizing TightVNC that came with it's image. To work
without the KVM I had to modify a bios setting so it would not halt
on no keyboard, and two vnc settings (one of them via the registry,
because the user account is really locked down) for timely remote
access ... all part of the gaining experience.
Other than rewarding the Amazon "partner" for their below standards
customer service (most organizations will pay shipping for DOA)
this has been a great experience.

I've just recently gotten this system up and running and at a good
place, so I'll let you know how I did. Specs are as follows:
EpoX 8RGA+
ATI Radeon 9600XT 128MB
1 Gig Corsair TwinX PC3200LL
80GB Western Digital Special Edition
Innovatek Water cooler (set5)
Enermax case with the Enermax logo side window (mid-tower)
Right now I have the CPU running at 12x200 at 1.825 VCore and 2.0
VDD for a total of about 2.41GHz. I plan on bumping up the FSB a
little more, as the jump to 2.0 VDD should give me at least another
5 FSB. Max stable CPU overclock was about 2425MHz. I purchased this
CPU as soon as newegg had them, so I don't know if newer batches
are performing any better. Still not a bad overclock. Prices have
lined up much better since the release, as was expected, but I had
to have it then :)

It works wonderfully and will keep your Zune 80/120 from getting
scratched up. This is especially handy if you find yourself
dropping your Zune a lot.
The car and AC adapter are okay. You get what you pay for. They
both take a few hours to charge the Zune and I think you have to
turn the Zune off for them to work. If you need a more reliable
charger get the Microsoft AC and car adapters even if you have to
pay an extra $20-30. Just consider these a modest bonus with the
silicone case.
