The “Immortal Game”

For some chess trivia! Here is replay of what is probably the most famous chess game ever played. The game took place during the first modern chess tournament in London on June 21, 1851, between Adolf Anderssen (playing white) and Lionel Kieseritzky (black).

The game is famous because of the sacrifices Anderssen makes in order to secure victory. Anderssen first gives up both rooks, then a bishop,  then queen, finally checkmating his opponent with his three remaining minor pieces. (Source: Wikipedia)
