Step back to
medieval period and witness heroic battles with steel and steed.
Travel through the mists of yore branded by tale of devotion,
courage, and love at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament of
the Kissimmee Orlando Castle. Medieval Times
Dinner and Tournament is in several locations throughout the
United States in a medieval jousting theme. This attraction
suspends guests between past and present and currently earns
popularity around North America. Based on the glory of the middle
Ages, this wonderful show tournament offers an exciting evening
of an excellent family entertainment. Its sweeping musical score
and sparkling lights provide the backdrop for a magical
experience that presses the borders between fairy tale and
spectacle.
Feel the moments of luxury being a King’s guest and share therein a royal feast with other spectators. The experience starts when you enter the 11th century European-style castle. Each guest is given a colored crown which matches their seating area that represents the knight that they will support. Trumpet will be blown and will fill the entire arena to herald all guests. The six Knights of the Realm on horseback will be facing off a skill fighting for the kingdom. Only one shall be named “Champion to the King”. Guests will cheer for their chosen knight and boo to his opponents. Battle begins with a thunder hooves and a clash of lance and shield. The show plays up the flag toss, ring pierce, and javelin throw, followed by some exciting jousting and foot combat with authentic medieval weapons. The jousting was the best part! Sometimes you will see sparks caused by the struck of the swords. Spectators will surely be caught in awe specially the little ones. This is a battle of good and evil until on the final realm, one brave Knight will claim the title of the new Champion.
Although the show itself is well choreographed, the knights do a great job of making the jousting and hand-to-hand combat look realistic. While adults may notice some choreographed elements, younger children will be a hundred percent enthralled with the fighting. The horses are beautiful and well trained, and a definite highlight.
With the flashing lights and thriving sounds adding to the
over-produced feeling, you will notice actors enjoying themselves
while in combat and the jousting is just very entertaining.
Children will love it, while adult guests will certainly
appreciate the medieval tournament eliciting the heroic history
of European middle age.

It is a very pleasing experience to go to Orlando
and visit Walt Disney World. There are a lot of things you can
see and do in Orlando and Disney World is surely the best. You
can visit a lot of different kinds of places and can go to some
very nice restaurants. Mostly, the food you find in Orlando is
simply amazing, but if you are looking for something more than
just exceptionally delicious, then I would suggest you to go to
the Villa de Flora restaurant. This is a part of
Gaylord hotels and is a very high quality buffet-style
restaurant. Anything that you might like to have can be found
there, no exceptions. There are specific timings for
breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is served weekdays from
6:30am to 10:30am. Lunch is from 11:30am to 2:30pm and you can
experience dinner from 5:00pm until 10:00pm. Villa de Flora is
located in the St. Augustine Atrium. This is really a great
restaurant perfect for a dinner with your loved one.
Menu’s vary depending on the day of the week. Most days are themed, for example:
However, in breakfast you can order Omelets, Granola Station, Fresh Belgian Waffles and French Toast etc. For lunch, a large menu is available which includes Pesto Crusted Salmon, Wild Mushroom Rice, Spanish rice, Fresh Herb Roasted Chicken, Rice Pilef, Stewed Zucchini and a number of other things. Actually the meals are served according to days of the week. Breakfast menu is same but lunch and dinner are available in different menus throughout the week. For example, on Monday and Friday, you can have Italian dishes, on Wednesday and Sunday French food is available, on Tuesday and Saturday, you can have Spanish style food and Greece dishes on Thursdays. It is a unique feature of this hotel that no one else is offering. Desserts like Strawberry Shortcake Bar, Crème Brulee, Cheese Cake, Key Lime Pie, Tres Leches and few others like these are available. On Sunday, you can enjoy Sunday brunch throughout the day!
If I say something about this Orlando restaurant, being honest, then I would have to say that this is by far the most luxury and amazing buffet-style restaurant offering an extra ordinary tasty food in Orlando. Villa de Flora is a perfect place to visit on a holiday trip to Orlando. The all-in buffet (no drinks) runs for about $32 per person/adult. It is always recommended that you make a reservation before going to a restaurant especially this kind of popular restaurants. Reservations can be made either online or give them a call. I think Sunday Brunch is the best event that you should check out. Overall, the dining experience at this hotel was amazing and I really loved it. It is highly recommended for doing a dinner with your family or loved one. So, if you looking for a really nice and outstanding restaurant then Villa de Flora at Gaylord hotels is just for you.
What turns your taste buds on quicker than any other food?
Nothing better than a large sizzling steak, done to perfection,
just the way you like it! The very thought of it makes your mouth
drool and your hunger fangs start to quiver. All of a sudden you
are starving and cannot wait to go out and place your order at a
steakhouse. No better place to go to than a branch of
Flemings Steakhouse in Orlando, with choice of
the Winter Park location or the Sand Lake location.
The first Flemings Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar opened its door back in 1998. It brought the standard of eating out at a steakhouse, up to a new and higher level. It wasn’t long before branches of this extraordinary steakhouse were opened in many states of America. Anything that is worthwhile soon has a large following, as happened with Flemings!
They began to win awards for their culinary expertise and introduced fresh new ideas to the steakhouse industry. To them perfection and high quality service was and still is their prime concern. New and excellent ideas for introducing original dishes to their menu, maintains the high standard that they are renowned for at all their outlets.
Their aim is to keep their customers happy and satisfied with what they order. After all, this is what will make customers want to come back time and again. Many restaurants do not value the importance of this and wonder why they do not have return visitors.
The menu is plentiful with choices that range from steaks and chops, chicken done in a variety of ways; all sorts of seafood with generous portions of accompanying salads. There are also many side orders that can be placed and when it comes to desserts, the choice is absolutely mouth-watering.
There is an excellent wine
list known as the Flemings 100. If you desire a dining menu for a
private luncheon, you will see that each lunch has a wine name; a
Syrah lunch, Riesling lunch and Gamay lunch. For a private dinner
party there is the choice of the Chardonnay, Zinfadel or Merlot
menus. You may also choose to have just wine tasting and hors
d’oevres instead.
The Flemings Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bars, are usually only open in the evenings; but should you wish to have a private function during the day, this can be arranged. The private Dining Directors will assist you and make all the necessary arrangements and help you with choice of menu. However, if you should prefer, to have a special menu created just for you, you will have the whole of the Flemings’ branch for yourselves and your guests. As an additional service to customers, facilities are also available for Tandberg Video Conferencing at all the branches.
Every “Flemings” branch is designed to be environmentally friendly and the staff always pleasant and helpful. There is an atmosphere of relaxation when you enter, that immediately puts you on the right track for an enjoyable evening of dining out with friends or family, having chosen an excellent Steakhouse with excellent food.

Our first stop this week was Hot
Olives, in Winter Park, noted as simple gourmet,
contemporary-style cuisine. The Hot Olives website’s very own
description
of the restaurant hits the head on the nail, as this dining
option provides a relaxing atmosphere with excellent food choices
to please the most picky eater to those with a open pallet to
unique flavors. The restaurant is located in Winter Park,
Florida which is just a mere 5-8 minute drive from
downtown Orlando. Finding a parking space can be tricky if you’re
headed out around normal dinner hours 5pm-9pm. We had a late
dinner, arriving sometime around 9:30pm and were able to locate
an open parking spot just off of a side street from New England
Avenue. Even if you have a bit of a walk down New England Avenue,
the area is beautiful and the mom-n-pop shops and other diners
lead a well-lit path back to the restaurant.
UPDATE: Hot Olives moved its location to 601 South New York Avenue in Winter Park.
You’ll first notice the glimmering patio area, adorned with strung lighting, lush greenery, white linens on the tables and a candle light ambiance. It’s a very calm atmosphere with a positive vibe from the locals gathered around the tables enjoying their glass of wine and laughing amongst one another in conversation. The indoors brought a livelier crowd, gathered at the bar which stretches across the back wall of the dining room. There are TV’s positioned above the bar and many guests at the time were involved in the last half of the Orlando Magic vs. Cleveland Cavaliers basketball game- YES, we won. Orlando ran with the win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, 103-90 as the final score. Congrats to our Eastern Conference Champs!
We took a seat on the outside patio area, since the area was
overwhelmingly inviting on our walk-by. First we send a big thank
you to our waiter, the service was great throughout the entire
evening- he even kept us up to date on the score of the
game. We began the night with a Mai Tai cocktail.
We’ll just say one is surely enough when it comes to content- it
could have been a little less harsh as it was not your typical
Mai Tai. Nonetheless still satisfying. There’s much to offer on
the Hot Olives Menu and with the fabulous
choice in the appetizers they offer, it is truly difficult to
choose just one. We decided on the Baked Brie with
Almonds and a cup of the Lobster Bisque
soup. Four words describes the Baked Brie-
Heaven on a plate! The platter is dressed with mixed
greens and fresh fruit, surrounding a small wheel of Baked Brie
topped with melted butter and slivered almonds. A freshly-baked
french baguette is also included and admittedly, it is difficult
to find a true crusty baguette in this city, well until
now. If only they had a bakery selling their baked bread!
The Lobster bisque was smooth and creamy, not overpowered by
herbs and spices, with fresh, properly portioned chunks of
lobster. The taste was pure and simple. Sorry Red Lobster,
but eat your heart out when it comes to this bisque.
For the main course, it was Sesame Seared Ahi Tuna and the Hot Olives Chopped Salad. The Tuna was pan-seared sushi grade Ahi, accompanied by jasmine rice, baby bok choy, and drizzled with soy ginger glaze. The tuna was super fresh and tender, while the jasmine rice and soy glaze was a nice touch. The baby bok choy was not a favorite but that was based on personal preference after tasting it for the first time. It is safe to say that most chopped salads are very similar when it comes to the ingredients chosen. Romaine lettuce, cucumber, mushrooms, hard-boiled egg, tomatoes, Applewood bacon, red onions and Gorgonzola cheese were tossed and served with a side of roasted tomato vinaigrette. The veggies were fresh, the bacon was a nice pop of flavor amongst the greens and paired fabulously with the Gorgonzola. The salad was great even without the dressing.
Dessert was offered (cheesecake) but two Irish Coffees were the end to a great meal. Unfortunately, they were out of fresh coffee by that time (then again, it was 11:30pm), so the waiter had fresh espresso made, which was a nice gesture. The drink was not the best mix though, made with Jameson’s whisky and without the presence of dark sugar, the drink was overwhelming and harsh on the way down. Next time we’ll go with the cheesecake.
All in all, the restaurant offered great service, quality dining options with fabulous flavor and a beautiful environment to enjoy the evening. DVRO will definitely be back for a second round on the appetizers when time permits in the future and we’ll most certainly post an update on our Orlando Blog. The Brie was surely a great find and highly recommended. Rating: 8 out of 10.
