How do i transfer a Ipod Nano to another computer and keep the music with on it?

Ok , I'm giving my 1st generation Ipod nano to my dad and he wants to put it on his laptop. I has 258 song on it right now. Is there a way i can keep the songs on the ipod nano when i put it on his laptop? All i want is the songs on the ipod , nothing else. I have the original cd software for this ipod.
