(More customer reviews)I've used Powersupport's anti-glare film for years on my iPods/iPhones, so I wanted one for my iPad too. (I bought my iPad film direct from them since it was not yet available from Amazon at the time.) I watched the installation videos on their website and had no problems installing it - with one tiny air bubble near the edge. I installed the film in a bathroom after someone took a shower, so the steam kept the air pretty much dust-particle free. I thoroughly cleaned the screen first with a cleaner wipe and cloth (iKlear) I bought in an Apple Store awhile back. The trickiest part was lining up the hole for the home button, but once I did that, I just slowly pulled off the backing with one hand while pushing the film onto the screen with fingers from the other hand. I then smoothed out the one air bubble with my thumb and my screen looked great.

As a previos owner of an Acer laptop i wasn't too sure about buying another one but after using it for a while and removing all the unwanted pre-installed software i realize what a great machine it was.
Pros:
- Great performance
- Travel friendly
- Stylish Design
- Good battery live (up to 4 hours)
- Never gets hot
- Really nice keyboard with numeric keypad
- Very clear display
Cons:
- Touchpad buttons are a little noisy
- Too much bloatware installed
I'm very pleased with this laptop, i highly recommend it and for this price you can't go wrong!!

(More customer reviews)This is a great protector for your Macbook. It has an OK look to it, although I do prefer the original Macbook itself over any case. HOWEVER, there are two things I WOULD like to say about the case that take away some points. When the screen is open and you are using your Macbook, the bottom half and top half of the case meet, thus blocking about 80% of the one and only air vent on the standard Macbook. The other issue I have is minor but still should be noted: the top half of the case is just heavy enough to close the Macbook... if you have your screen titled down at all, (ironically about where it's at in the picture) then chances are your Macbook is going to close and go to sleep. Other than those two issued I am VERY glad to have this case.

(More customer reviews)I recently purchased a MacBook from Amazon, and after using the trackpad for awhile, I knew I wanted to get a mouse for the MacBook. I searched around and came up with the Logitech V-270.
It works great and has good bluetooth sensitivity. I was able to control the cursor from more than 10 feet away from the computer. I like the size and the finish of the device. A little pricey, but it's worth it if I don't have to use the trackpad.
BTW, I also installed Windows XP Pro on the MacBook and the Logitech V-270 also works on the Windows partition of the hard drive.

(More customer reviews)I consider myself a technology enthusiast who has replaced multiple hard drives in multiple notebooks and desktops over the years. I usually just install a clean copy of Windows whenever I install a new hard drive, but I've also used various types of software to clone hard drives so that I don't have to re-install Windows.
I can honestly say that this is the easiest upgrade kit and easiest cloning software I've ever used. Just remove your old hard drive from your notebook, install the new SSD, install the old hard drive into the provided external enclosure and connect it to a USB port on your notebook, then insert the install CD into the drive and follow the on-screen instructions.
Best of all, the solid state drive (SSD) provides trouble-free shock protection for all your data (no more crashing hard drives) and it will make your laptop feel faster as well. Just be sure that you're using this kit with a laptop/notebook that has a SATA hard drive and not an older IDE hard drive interface.
Pros:
-- Includes an external USB enclosure so you can use your old hard drive after you've replaced it with an SSD.
-- Includes the easiest cloning software I've ever seen.
-- Provides a nice boost to laptop performance at a fair price.
Cons:
-- No printed copy on the installation instructions. You have to print out the instructions from the PDF document included on the CD.
-- If you have a larger hard drive you need to delete files off your old drive so that it takes up enough room to fit on the smaller SSD before you can clone the drive.
-- Since this is a budget-priced SSD it is faster than a traditional hard disk drive but isn't as fast as some of the more expensive SSDs offered by Kingston and other companies.

(More customer reviews)I've used LaCie drives for years and they seem to fail far less often than other drives I've used (WD, Seagate, Maxtor.) Perhaps one of the reasons that my hard drives fail often is that I tend to be a little rough on them. I edit video, often on location, so I drag my drives all over the place. I'm hoping with it's rubberized shell, this LaCie will go the distance. I love that it is self-powered so I don't have to lug a power adapter with me. It's one of the few portable drives that is fast enough for video editing. I purchased the case LaCie Cozy 3.5-Inch Hard Drive Carrying Case 130903 (Grey) for it as well to further protect it. I'll update this review if it dies.
Update: I've used this drive for a year and it's still going strong. I'm going to upgrade to a larger capacity model soon.

(More customer reviews)I have been using this drive for a few months and I have been very happy with the purchase. I've bought over a dozen external hard drive and external hard drive cases in my life, and this is the best USB drive I've ever used.
I no longer go the el-cheapo route of putting a cheap OEM hard drive in a cheap case; I've had too many short lived drives that way. That's why I was interested to see a large consumer electronics manufacturer like Samsung was dipping its toes into consumer level external hard drives. I've had a good experience with other Samsung products and that was good enough for me to try this new product line.
I am using this drive attached to an Apple Airport Extreme in my TV equipment cabinet. Given its usage, it has to fit into its surroundings, be quiet, and energy efficient. It's been there for 3 months and I've had zero problems with it. It doesn't get hot. It makes no noise I can hear from the couch. [Update: In the quiet of the night, I've realized that the drive makes an audible click when spinning up from low power idle. And there is a barely perceptible low frequency throbbing when in use, but this is only perceptible in the dead of the night; the clock on the wall, and the drive in my laptop are louder under these conditions.]
The big dial on the front allows me to turn down the activity light to a non-distracting level. The 1.5 terabytes are luxuriously large as I dump large media files for archiving from any computer in the house. I've no complaints about performance, but I doubt the drive would be the limiting factor in my wireless file transfers. Someone needing a more performant drive would be shopping for eSATA or Firewire 800 drives instead of this energy sipping USB drive.
The case itself is solid and well made. I would think the use of aluminum allows it to better cool the drive. In addition, I believe the drive uses less power when idle for a bit, again allowing the minimization of fan noise.
Not one to gratuitously give out 5 star reviews, I was considering giving it 4 stars, but really the only thing to say against it is its list price is higher than lesser quality drives.

(More customer reviews)My biggest worry in ordering this product was whether it would work without an additional power source (e.g., USB) over Firewire. Some reviews of other capacity Iomega drives had mentioned this as an issue with their computers.
I have the 15" 2.2 GHz MacBook Pro and it powers this drive just fine over the Firewire port, even when the MacBook Pro is running off battery.
The other question I had was whether the drive came with cables--it does, both a USB and a Firewire cable are included.
The included Firewire cable is obscenely long (3 or 4') to use on a lap tray on an airplane, so I will shop around for a 1' cable.
I cannot comment on the reliability, but the speed seems reasonable for a laptop drive, and it works for what I need. The Iomega name does not ring the sound of quality in my ear (having had a number of Zip drives in the day), but I figured I'd take the chance. So far so good!

Kensington 33362 Ultraportable Power Inverter 150 Review

(More customer reviews)This is the perfect adapter for me as it powers both my notebook and all of my gadgets from a single brick. I use it for my notebook, DVD player, cell phone, mp3 player, guitar trainer and PDA. The Kensington is simple, compact and lightweight without a lot of fussy extra stuff to deal with. The iGo and Targus systems require a separate dongle for low-power devices like cell phones and CD-players.
"Brick" really isn't a good description though, because the Kensington transformer has a super slim profile and is lightweight. I bought the 120w version because some people reported trouble with the 70w on newer HP Compaq Business notebooks. I figured the 120w is good now and insurance against obsolesence in the future.
The power supply is just part of the picture though, as the real beauty of the system is the "smart tip" feature. I frequently fly on international and long haul domestic trips and like to take along my portable DVD player for entertainment. Instead of hauling heavy auxiliary batteries or having both a DC adapter for the plane/rental car AND the regular power bricks, cables and wall warts for AC, now all I need is a single power supply and the right tips.
It seemed like I was always forgetting to pack the one crucial component I needed, like the USB cable to charge my Tungsten T or the wall wart for my mp3 player. With this system, everything stays in one pouch in my carry-on briefcase and the OEM power supplies stay at home, no more sharing and forgetting....
On the downside, the AC power cord really needs to be longer. Now it hangs down off the wall with the weight of the brick straining the cord. This will eventually lead to failure and an electrical hazard unless replaced. Also on my wish list is a separate European two-prong power cord to eliminate the need to pack a plug adapter.
Technical support is a joke, as the call desk didn't even know that any of the DVD tips were available. Technical spec information is nigh on impossible to get. My DVD player wasn't listed on the website and I wanted to know which tip supplied 9v.
Good luck trying to find that out without a major research project. I wish Kensington would just publish a compatibility chart on the site and keep it current, instead of that goofy query-based tip selector. It is so out of date, that it doesn't list many of the DVD player models that have tips (e.g. Panasonic).
I wanted to find the right tip for my Philips PET1000 DVD player. I finally had to go to the manufacturer websites that Kensington makes tips for to dig out which one uses 9v (it was Panasonic). Bought the tip, works like a charm. This works for other devices that aren't listed too, like my Tascam gutiar trainer. If the tip fits your device without forcing or isn't loose, it is probably the right one. However, ALWAYS check the voltage and amperage first to avoid frying your stuff.
The bottom line is that this is head and shoulders above the other AC/DC systems out there. If Kensington can keep up the product support by making new tips for gadgets as they hit the marketplace, it could be around for a long time.

But I was a little unhappy with the Brenthaven Professional 17 because the laptop compartment was not as easy to use as other manufacturers. It has a dual-flap system: unzip, then open the velcro flap. So I began to try other manufacturers. I tried pretty much everything, from Kensington, to Tumi, Lowepro, etc. I liked the Kensington Contour line, but seemed a little bulky and not as rugged. I was really happy with the Booq Python XL, until I started using it. The zippers jammed and broke on the very first day of use! Booq's customer service is deplorable, requiring the customer prove ownership by submitting pictures of the defective product (why couldn't I just send it in for replacement?) So I decided to go back to Brenthaven. I liked how this model had a new-style laptop compartment. Well, I've been using it for a while. It's by far the best, don't waste your time and money elsewhere. The zippers are large coil-type and are easy to use and will not jam. The laptop compartment is a cinch to use, just unzip and slip in the laptop. It's well-protected by hard panels and soft foam. The shoulder straps are contoured and comfortable. There are even cell phone connector nubs on the straps (an undocumented feature!) The material and construction is flawless, dependable, and well, the best! If you do decide to get this one, I recommend you get it through Amazon, and not one of the other sellers here. It's a little more expensive, but the shipping is so much better. I have received many shipments from other sellers through Amazon, and they truly suck! Sometimes I get stuff in a torn-up padded envelople, sometimes the item is crushed beyond belief, often the shipper takes a long time to get on the ball and ship! With Amazon, my shipments are always very prompt, and the quality of packing is so much better. This bag came double-boxed with padding and in excellent condition.

(More customer reviews)I bought this after reading reviews here which said the card could be used with Macs. But after getting the drivers from IOgear, via Silicon Image, I got an immediate kernel panic when attempting to access a connected drive.
I subsequently learned that it's a common problem. Reading further on the Apple forums and elsewhere, I find there's much debate about where the problem lies...could be the driver, the chipset in the connected drives, Leopard, etc. But the bottom line is that this card does not work reliably (or at all) with new MacBook Pros and Leopard.
If you're a Mac user, you'll want to look elsewhere.

(More customer reviews)I just spent part of the day changing my standard Apple 80Gb hard drive to the Seagate Momentus 5400.3 160Gb hard drive. I wish I could give you directions on how to crack open your Powerbook G4 but I did the guy-thing and figured it out on my own. I can tell you, however, that it was not difficult to do. Before I started, I inserted my Tiger (OS 10.4) DVD and then shut it down. You need to take the battery out and place your Powerbook on a towel. You alsp need to make sure you have all the right tools and be very careful. I took my old 80Gb out and placed it in a Firewire/USB 2 enclosure made by MacAlly (model PHR-250CC). This was very easy to do. I installed the new Seagate and put everything back together. I started up holding down the "C" key and it fired up running off the DVD. I installed Tiger on the new hard drive and when finished, chose the option to move my files from my "old computer," which was now my old hard drive in the new Firewire enclosure. Everything transferred over without a hitch. This is exactly why we love our Macs! Try doing that in Windoze. I have now been running with the new Seagate for 3 hours. I immediately noticed a jump in speed. Although my old drive was also 5400rpm, the new Seagate is quite noticeably faster. And, most amazingly, it is tremendously cooler than the old hard drive. The old hard drive ran so hot it was uncomfortable to hold on your lap. The new Seagate runs so much cooler that it feels only slightly warmer than room temperature. No kidding. That feature alone is worth the price and the work. I would not hesitate to purchase this Seagate. It's something I should have done a long time ago.
