I want to add "Credits And Contributors" page to website and the programs.

Strategies that always close at end of bar (and not before)

I am trying to come up with some strategies that always close at the end of the bar, but it's not working.

I'm locking the 'Closing Point of the Position' as 'Bar Closing' and banning all Closing Logic, but when i press Generate nothing happens.  I can successfully generate other strategies, it's just this type that won't do anything.

Spread limiter

One more idea for an indicator.

I think it might be useful to develop a spread limiter. By this I understand an indicator which monitors the size of a spread and limits failed entries after unexpected market events (news, interventions). It will be especially useful for those of us who use variable spread brokers.

Example:

Spread Limiter

Open position when the spread is < than ...
Open position when the spread is > than ...
Close position when the spread is > than ...
Close position when the spread is < than ...
The spread increases
The spread decreases

etc.

Indicators based on statistics are extremely useful in scalping and high frequency trading. They might be worth further consideration.

Preventing poor Risk/Reward strategies

I'm finding that the Generator is finding lots of strategies which it thinks are good, but are untradeable because the stop loss is larger than the take profit.

Is there some way of ensuring that the SL to TP is at least 1:1 ? Or some other way of tying the stoploss value to the take profit (other than using permanent values which is less than ideal) ?

Multiple Installs: can I clone first install ?

I have installed one copy of FSB and now I want to install three more, as I have 4 cores.

As I have the first install setup as I want it, with settings, history, etc., can I somehow clone this rather than having to make the same changes to the next three installs ?

Generator best practice ?

Is it best to let the Strategy Generator run as long as possible, or is it best to stop it every hour (for example), save the result and then start a new generation ?

Also, even though I have the 'Generate a new strategy at every start' checked, whenever I press 'Generate' the old strategy stays there.

Email alerts for new or modified trades ?

I need to get an email alert everytime a position is opened or modified. Is this something that FST can already do ?  Or does it need to be an MT4 indicator ?  I found some posts from about two years ago, but nothing else about this.

FST 0 lot trades

Hi,

i like fst and fsb, these are great tools.

However when i updated my MT4 to build 427 today
Fst is not able to open any trades - it is trying to open trade with 0 lots. I haven't seen such issue before.
Even if i try to manually open position in FST i cannot change lot value from 0 to anu other - see pic.
i am able to change the lot size before i connect to MT4 but as soon as i connect to mt4 i can't change it.

My FST is the newsest 1.4 and library 1.1

Entry Point

There are probably other ways to achieve this but I have been looking at Entry Points based on the colour of the previous bar so I can enter the market at either the Previous Close +/- Margin, the Bar Opening +/- a margin or Previous Bar Open +/- a percentage of the previous bar Open Close spread. The existing Bar Opening Closing High Low indicators don't give me the Margin addition option.
I have produced the attached files based on the above criteria which I hope may be useful.

hiding S/L settings

Developers: Isn't there some way to change [via the FST-EA or FST strategy] the S/L setting on an open position so that the new setting is 'hidden' from stoploss raiders??? Either manually or automatically??
Can't the Breakeven function be so modified?

Hi,

I'm wondering if I could input MT4 data from one (or more) MT4 platforms, then output trade signals, based on calculated decisions, back out to several other MT4 platforms.

Ideally, I'd be able to follow the trade on the first platform and supply close, trailing stop, TP, etc., and transmith those to the several other MT4 platforms, as well.

This would significantly cut down on CPU time running multiple MT4 platforms. Assuming the orders can go through separate threads, would also greatly speed up execution.

Any help or tips appreciated.
