Best Resorts in Florida Key West Question by Galinda the Good: Animal Kingdom Lodge or Old Key West? Me and my family of four will either be staying in a two-bedroom vacation home in AKL or OKW for 11 nights during Christmas Time. We will be staying with DVC (Disney Vacation Club). Which resort do you prefer? Have you stayed at either, if so, how was your experience? Thanks! I appreciate it! If we stay at AKL, we will stay in Khadani Village. Sorry for leaving that out! Answer by Some ImaginationWhich part of AKL? Is it Jambo House or Kidani Village? If it's Kidani, I'd say stay there, since it just opened on May 1, you'll be there only six months after it's opening. OKW is the original DVC resort, and had the biggest rooms of all of them. The studios for example at OKW are bigger than those at Animal Kingdom Villas. If you want to talk about proximity, I'd say OKW is closer to all the theme parks but Animal Kingdom. It's also a short boat ride from OKW to Downtown Disney. Regarding dining on site, AKV wins by a lot. Boma and Jiko are both great restaurants, and the Kindani Village section has a brand new restaurant called Sanaa which is already getting positive reviews. I realize I haven't answered your question, because I'm pointing out good points of each of them. If I were forced to choose though, I'd go for the Animal Kingdom Villas.
