Nissan 350Z

Having test drove the new Nissan 350Z I can confidently say that though it may not match a Ferrari in terms of brand value or consummate performance, I think I would choose the Japanese over the Italian. Before you accuse me of being a witch or just plain stupid, let me explain my
logic.

If you have ever seen a news report on television of Premier League Footballers driving away from their training grounds, there are a limited selection of cars you are likely to see. The current trend seems to be Range Rovers, Aston Martins and the occasional Ferrari. Who can blame them? If I was earning over £100,000 a week I would probably drive something more ostentatious than a Ford Focus. If I was in the financial position to drive a car with more flair, I would (to use football terminology) 'think outside the box' a bit.

Modern Sports Car

With these cars, it was almost like their manufacturer had to prove that they were capable of developing some of the coolest convertible cars on the market, while staying true to their price point and consumer base. This is no easy feat when a car like the Porsche 911 turbo is running for a cool dollarsignr150,000. Clearly, the Honda or the Nissan could not play ball in the same category; but they are definitely sufficient to give their owners the feeling that they were driving a high-end sports car, providing adequate speed, horsepower and gadgetry.

When you think about what a modern sports car is, you may immediately jump to a brand like Tesla that is paving the way for high end electronic automobiles; however, generally this category refers to cars made by brands who have only started manufacturing these cars in the last 10-15 years. The top cars that fall under that category are the Nissan 350z and the Honda s2000. Both cars come from noted automotive powerhouses, but also, from companies that specialize in comfort sedans, not speed demons. Yet these 2 companies have proven the industry wrong by creating generally affordable alternatives for speed loving drivers.

New Concept Cars From Nissan and Toyota

1) Nissan Townpod Concept. After seeing the new 2011 Juke, it isn't shocking to see Nissan developing the most unique looking concept vehicles in the market today. Take a look at the Nissan Townpod Concept, a car that looks more like a toy than an actual vehicle. Nissan notices that there are more people today who work from home and do not have fixed hours or regimented schedules. Their business life and social life tend to blend together. As such, Nissan believes "their personal transportation must be equally multifaceted." The Townpod will combine the "comfort and style of a passenger car with the businesslike utility of a commercial vehicle." This will also be a zero emission vehicle.

2) Nissan ESFLOW Electric Sports Car-it looks like a sports car and drives like a sports car, but it has one key difference-it's all electric. The ESFLOW is powered by the same technology used in the Nissan Leaf. The ESFLOW is a pure electric vehicle with zero emissions, has two electric motors and lithium ion batteries. With the new ESFLOW, no sacrifices need to be made to drive an ecological car. You get everything you want out of this eco-friendly sports car-an attractive sleek look, sporty performance and friendly to the environment.

3) Toyota FT-HS. Toyota's concept FT-HS combines hybrid powertrain with sports car fundamentals. In order to come up with a "suitable sports car for the 21st century" Toyota developed the FT-HS concept, a hybrid sports car that is powered by a V6 3.5L engine and coupled with Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive that produces 400 horsepower and a projected zero-to-60 acceleration in the four-second range.
