(More customer

reviews for this iced tea maker. My family has tried many and this
has been the best. I love the fact that I do not have to use just
the pitcher that came with the unit. Sure, they do not mention that
in the manual or anything, but you really can line up any pitcher
under this thing to receive the tea. True, the glass pitcher that
comes with it does seem thin and fragile. However, I do not use it
so it is not a concern for me. I wasn't planning on using it when I
bought it. I use a completely different shaped, BPA-free pitcher
that holds 4 quarts. I fill the tea maker with the required amount
of water, lay in the tea bags, and set the strength. I then fill my
pitcher with cold water to the required level, add sugar, lime and
lemon juice, then press the button. I have tea about 6 to 8 minutes
later. I've never had the problem with the machine starting to brew
the moment I plug it in.
So - to sum things up: stop locking yourself in with having to use
the manufacturer's pitcher (or having to replace it when it breaks,
cracks or leaks like I've seen happen so many times with the Mr.
Coffee machines). This machine gives you that freedom and it just
works - and works well. Not to mention the parts are dishwasher
safe. The tea tastes great.

Oster BVST-TM20 2-1/2-Quart
Iced-Tea Maker, White
Coffee drinkers have their automatic brewers, why shouldn't tea
drinkers? Ideal for family gatherings or summer picnics, this
versatile machine brews up 2-1/2 quarts of iced tea quickly and
easily. Simply pour water into the water reservoir and add the
desired amount of tea to the removable brew basket--five to seven
bags of tea or 2 to 3 tablespoons of loose tea work well when
brewing a full pitcher; sugar, lemon, and other flavorings can also
be added to the brew basket for customized results. Then fill the
pitcher with ice cubes to the ice-level marking and insert into the
machine, close the top lid, and push the "on" button. The water
heats up and steeps the tea in the brew basket, then hot tea drips
down into the pitcher of ice. At the end of the brewing cycle, the
machine shuts off automatically for safety and peace of mind. Other
highlights include a power indicator light, a water window in the
reservoir for accurate filling, an adjustable brew strength, and a
permanent filter for use with loose tea. The pitcher provides a
lid, a generous handle, and a nondrip pouring spout for graceful
serving, and the pitcher, pitcher lid, and brew basket clean up
easily by hand or in the dishwasher. The iced-tea maker measures 11
by 10 by 13-1/2 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

been disappointed with the quality of the less expensive products
(the trays melt and deform with time etc). Not wanting to keep
filling landfills, I decided to invest in a product with a decent
warranty...the L'equip Dehydrator has a 12 year warranty. It is
fabulous! The tempature control feature is nice. And, probably most
amazingly, when I had a question, I called customer service, got a
REAL person who knew what they were talking about!
Highly recommend this product. (You can purchase additional trays

I've cooked a 13-lb. stuffed turkey, salmon fillets, a 4-lb.
chicken, a casserole of stuffing, a lemon pie, peanut butter
cookies, fajita vegetables, sliced sweet potatoes, and a frozen
pizza. It took some trial and error but I think this will work well
for me. What I like most about it is its pristine appearance and
how easily it cleans up after use and then stores away out of
sight. I like the fact that the timer alerts me when it's through
cooking and I can watch the progress myself through the clear
plastic container. I like that it requires no preheating and
doesn't heat up the kitchen. I like that I can pause and interrupt
the cooking to adjust the dish or add sauce or seasoning and then
reset it to a new cooking time or temperature. I'm even becoming
competent at using it to reheat coffee or my cold dinner. It's
important to keep the food the correct distance from the heat
source, or utilize aluminum foil to slow down the browning process
or to allow food to steam through. I think this is a keeper for me
as I continue to experiment with it.

(More customer
reviews)After making cappuccino on steam type espresso
makers daily for the past 12 years, I thought it was time to
upgrade to a pump model. I researched pump types and decided on
this model. Wow! What a difference! The espresso first comes out as
a creamy light brown froth which then clarifies into a rich darker
brown color within a minute. What a difference in taste! We use
pure Kona and the taste is softer and smoother than we're used to.
In the week I've used it, I haven't yet mastered the froth on this
unit, but it's getting better and is probably a learning curve on
my behalf.
Some pointers and caveats need to be mentioned up front for optimum
performance and eyes wide open purchase:
1) This model is heavier & noisier than steam models
2) No decanter is included. I use a Pyrex measuring cup if making
two servings. About 1/3 cup per espresso serving.
3) You must manually turn off the espresso control after the
desired quantity is made, hence the measurement of 1/3 cup per
serving
4) The water tank is removable--a nice touch. If it is not reseated
properly, you will hear a very loud continuous noise as the unit
tries to suck out water it cannot obtain. This is just a learner's
tip.
5) While the water reservoir is massive, you can only make one or
two servings at a time, unless the espresso is diluted. Making more
is only a matter of placing the unit in standby, removing the
grounds, refilling with fresh grounds and continuing the process
again.
6) Always wait for the thump thump noises of the pump to stop
before proceeding to the next step. This is usually a matter of
several seconds, just don't be impatient!
7) Whenever crafting the froth, you must wait for the orange light
to go out before proceeding. This is like waiting for the oven to
reach appropriate temperature.
8) Alternatively, you cannot go straight from froth to espresso
without first placing the unit in standby for a cooldown cycle. The
pump will cycle for about 10 seconds. When it stops, you can
proceed. This is only a cool down period.
9) For making espresso only, this unit is FAST!!
10) I am well over the age of 13!
With the above in mind, I hope you take the plunge. The price is
right and the difference in taste is remarkable. If you're thinking
of upgrading your steam espresso maker, go for it! The Holidaze are
just around the corner!

(More customer

that I have ever used. The problems that I found were also stated
by other people as well. I wish that I could give it less than one
star. The problems that I found are as follows:
1. Attempting to fill water storage area for first time turned into
a mess when I was focused on filling it up while being half asleep.
Found that water was spilling out of the back from holes put there
in manufacturing process. Idiotic design.
2. Unit leaks water from somewhere onto counter. Mystery leak that
others complained about as well.
3. Carafe is the worst that I have had the misfortune of dealing
with. Try to pour a cup of coffee & end up leaking on the
counter, floor, etc. Whoever designed the carafe should be flogged
or at least ridiculed by coworkers.
4. Unit overall is a mess to deal with. Everything about it is
messy. The stupid swivel water dispenser is more trouble than it is
worth.DON'T waster your money on this garbage. Find another model
or different brand.

(More customer
reviews)Below is my ORIGINAL review...and one year
later, I am adding these notes:
February 2005
As others have noted - the carafe does seem to have a "loose" seal
around the rim where the plastic doesn't seal well to the glass.
However, I don't notice more than a bit of leakage once in
awhile...and I'm sure a little silicone could be used to repair it.
It is still a very nice carafe with a great handle & hinged lid
and has stood up well with lots of use.
We've also had the "flashing light" syndrome...but customer service
told us how to reset...not a big deal now that we know.
Sometimes water does pool under the coffee maker - I don't really
mind wiping it up when it does.
The bottom line is that I still LOVE this machine. I like the
looks, the ease of use (especially the removable water basket for
filling) and ease of cleaning. But most important...it makes great
coffee and I haven't been sorry for a minute that I bought it.
Maybe I'm just not as fussy as some...but I still recommend it
highly.ORIGINAL REVIEW - January 2004
Finally decided to upgrade to a better coffee maker after years
with a cheap one. Christmas seemed the perfect time to buy it for
my coffee addicted husband. Read dozens of reviews. Didn't want to
spend over $100. Couldn't find any reviews of this newer Delonghi
maker and it was priced over my limit wherever I saw it. So, I went
out and bought the Cuisinart retro maker despite a few small
reservations about some features. It looked like it was almost
perfect and the reviews were great. Then, the Delonghi was
advertised as a sale item at a store where I had a discount coupon,
and I was able to purchase it for much less than the Cuisnart. So I
returned that one and risked the "unreviewed" Delonghi.
After a week of coffee making, I know I made a great choice. The
first pot of coffee Christmas morning was before unwrapping. The
second was with the Delonghi - same water, same coffee...but a
world of difference! I wouldn't have believed it could be so much
better.
The features that convinced me to buy this one over the Cuisinart
were the swing out filter basket, the water level indicator and the
hinged top carafe. Little things lacking on the Cuisinart that I
knew were going to bug me.
The design of the Delonghi makes coffee prep a pleasure and clean
up easy. Being able to remove the water reservoir for filling and
cleaning is something I wouldn't have imagined as a big plus, but
now I can't imagine not having this feature. I don't think we ever
really cleaned the water reservoir on our old maker and I shudder
to think about that...but like most makers, it is not very easy or
accessible. And the Delonghi "bucket-like" reservoir lifts out and
in easily and really makes a water indicator superfluous.
Programming is very simple. Setting the start time is a no-brainer.
Auto light button and regular "start on demand" button are easy to
use. Setting it to turn off any time after the coffee is made -
from 2 to 12 hours - is equally easy to figure out. And setting 1-6
or 7-12 cups as well. Each day now starts with coffee that has been
perfectly brewed at the same time each morning...just before we
wake up!
Other features include a "dark" or "light" setting for coffee
strength (we only use dark), a swivel control panel for easy access
if your maker is in a less accessible counter place (not something
we use but I imagine others might)a replaceable charcoal filter for
better water taste, and a platinum fiter that fits in the basket,
if you don't want to use paper filters (something else we probably
won't use unless we run out of paper filters which we prefer).
The only small drawback is that the outside water level indicator
is hard to read because it's so dark and the water doesn't easily
show inside the tube - but since I use the removeable reservoir
which is clearly marked, I don't even look at the indicator.
No problems with spilling water or coffee and the carafe is very
well designed and seems quite durable and comfortable to
handle.
You won't go wrong with this coffee maker. Consider it HIGHLY
reviewed!

then began malfunctioning. Coffee backed up in hopper and
overflowed. We tried everything we could think of: cleaning the
coffeemaker, different grinds of coffee from coarse to fine to
everything in between, making different amounts of coffee. We never
knew when the coffeemaker would work perfectly or when it would
overflow. This is an inferior product. Pay a little more and get
something better. (Would have preferred to give it no stars.)

bins and a 3 liter to store flour and went back to get more. Having
several bags of flour open at one time becomes a nuisance when you
reach for the bread flour and you want the wheat. Now these sit
within reach and labled. They are sturdy and hold one and a half 5
lb bag of flour each. The lids snap perfectly tight so no worry
about kids or anything else getting into the contents of these
bins. Great bins, great storage, great deal. Enjoy.

(More customer

maker. I have had it a couple of months and it is great. I saw some
reviews about some machines within this price category being flimsy
and unreliable. The Imusa is terrific. Easy to clean (Bialetti was
awful!), and makes up to a quad in under 5 minutes. It is
lightweight, but sturdy; and makes thick rich foam, even with skim
milk. I am a former chef and have had some fancy machines that cost
thousands of dollars in my kitchens, Imusa gets it done for me at
home. I even went back and ordered a second as a gift.
Adding on to this review: If you haven't been using your old
espresso/cappuccino maker because it isn't easy, or a pain to clean
up, then this is the machine for you.

(More customer

brother in law only use these. So we went to visit them on vacation
and coffee has never been the same. I tossed the drip crap we had
and bought one of these from my local Sur La Table for $30. It
makes the best tasting coffee ever! I do not use coarse ground as
it states. That was a little weak for us. I use fine grounds,
making an almost espresso strong coffee. I am now making home made
lattes for great money savings!
Now the one con-the lid. Yes, it is cool to have a no spill
feature, but you can't clean inside the lid! I can forsee some
nasty growth in there sometime in the future. We use ours everyday.
I thought about putting vinegar and hot water in and pouring that
out to help, but then I have to be REALLY sure to get all that
outta there before brewing again. Not worth the hassle for me.
I plan on returning this model tomorrow for one that just uses the
beaker to pour and not some plastic part. Plus, staying away from
the plastic is better for us in the long run anyhow.

(More customer

gave up the ghost. Had comparable features like auto brew timer and
auto shut off. Will be replacing it soon with another Mr Coffee.
When you pour the first and second cups you can expect to make a
mess with the dribble carafe. It is difficult to fill the coffee
maker with water without making another mess. I dont know why they
added a splash bar across the fill area but it does make filling it
with water a challenge. On the positive side the brew timer and
suto shut off work well and it makes coffee as you would expect.
The big down side is that useability is lacking.
