It's that time of year again at Seven Springs Ski Resort. Winter
kickoff weekend is this Saturday November, 21 at 1 p.m. If you are
bringing the family. They are having rollerskating and children's
activities all weekend. The foggy goggle will have a DJ from
4-12:30 during the winter kickoff party on Saturday. Then on Sunday
at Seven Springs Ski Resort the Foggy Goggle will have Bloody Mary
specials during the tailgate party from 11-1 p.m. leading up
hopefully to a Steeler victory I mean it's the Chiefs it shouldn't
be problem right. The winter kick off should be a good time add in a
blowout by the black and gold sounds like a good weekend to me.
Thanksgiving at
Seven Springs Ski
Resort, I think I may have to check it out. The menus sound
great. they are offering two different menus. I think the Slopeside
Dining Room/Convention Hall menu sounds the best and it's only 25
bucks you can't beat it.They say it's a good place to bring the
family I think I might go to avoid my family and their cooking.
Well not all of them I think I'll take my mom. Hell a good
Thanksgiving meal for 2 for 65 or 70 dollars plus the good view of
Seven Springs Ski Resort I think I'm sold. The I'll just throw a
turkey breast in on Friday so I can have left over turkey for
sandwiches. They also have a pretty good deal for anyone that might
want to stay over on Thanksgiving weekend especially if you bring
the kids.
Seven Springs Resort is a
great place to be whether you ski snowboard or just enjoy the
scenery. With the winter season just kicking off now is a great
time to visit Seven Springs Ski Resort.

Charlie Daniels Band at Seven Springs Ski Resort V
The Volunteer Jam at the Grey Rocks Amphitheatre was a great time.
I should have posted this a week ago but I have been sick from
sitting in the rain that night. The concert was very good. It
rained the whole time and actually got pretty cold like in the low
sixties. We had fourth row tickets so it was a great view of the
performers. The Charlie Daniels Band holds a special place in the
hearts of my family more about that in another post.

Shooter Jennings and the 357's Volunteer Jam 2008
First up were Shooter Jennings and the 357's. I had never heard
their music before,I am now a fan. They are a talented group of
musicians and Shooter does his daddy proud. I am curious though it
seemed he left the stage a bit miserable, maybe he was sick.

38 Special Volunteer Jam 2008
Next up was .38 Special, Donnie Van Zant really knows how to get
the crowd going. Even with all the rain Van Zant and .38 special
kept the crowd excited. I honestly didn't realize how many hits .38
special was responsible for. I think they played all their big
hits. They closed out with a great rendition of CCR's "Travelin
Band" that rocked.

Charlie Daniels Band Volunteer Jam 2008 Seven Spri
I have to say by now I was a bit pooped. At least I thought I was.
Next up at Seven Springs Ski Resorts Grey Rocks Amphitheatre
The Best That Ever Was
The Charlie Daniels
Band.
This was what we came for and the man and
the band did not disappoint. Charlie came out rockin. I'm not one
to push my way up to the stage, but man I wish I would have been
when he tossed that bow out to the crowd. He did most of the
favorites I was happy to hear El Toreador it's a song I really
like. I was pleasantly surprised that he took the time to do The
Pledge of Allegiance. There were two moments that left me in awe.
First if you have never heard "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" live
you have never really heard it. I'm telling you it is amazing. My
second moment of awe came when the musicians took turns doing their
solos Charlie Daniels of course was excellent then through the
guitar players more absolute greatness. Then when I heard the bass
player I was taken aback it just kept getting better. Just when I
thought that I could not be more impressed the drummer drummed. The
drummer drummed and I was shocked by the talent in this guy of
course Charlie Daniels band would have the best musicians, but I
can honestly say I have never heard anything like this guy. I have
seen a lot of bands and this guy (I'm sorry I do not know his
name)is the best drummer I have ever heard.
All told even with the rain the Volunteer Jam at Seven Springs Ski
Resort was a great time. I will definitely not miss another
Volunteer Jam I just hope the next one is somewhere else.
This was my first experience at
the Grey Rocks Amphitheatre at Seven Springs, it is a nice venue
however there is one caveat if someone going has trouble walking
the Grey Rocks may not be a wise choice. My Mom my Uncle and I
went, both of them have a great deal of trouble walking due to some
severe injuries and conditions. We called in advance to ensure
access for those with disabilities and were told that the disabled
parking was close and it would not be a problem. The parking for
those with a disability placard was closer than the other parking.
The walk from the car to the venue was quite a distance downhill on
a wet muddy slippery slope. After questioning an employee I was
assured that if they could get down to the seats there would be a
golf cart to escort them back to the car after the show, that was a
joke, I saw others practically begging to get a ride from the golf
cart. The two of them then had to walk further down a now even
muddier slippery road to the bottom where I could pick them up. I
am a fan of Seven Springs and had a great time at the concert, but
this whole thing was a disappointment from the deceptive phone call
to the dangerous muddy access road. It was made pretty apparent
that if you are disabled thats just too bad.

Seven
Springs Ski Resort can be a magical place. Maybe I am
partial being from western PA, but there is something in the air at
Seven
Springs Resort. If you have been in the Rocky Mountains
or in Vegas you should have an idea of what I mean. I am sure there
are other places that have this magic in the air, but for me Seven
Springs Mountain Resort is the closest.
A friend of mine had a cabin just down the road in Donegal, just
off of route 31 a few minutes from the turnpike exit. So I was
lucky enough to be able to go Seven Springs whenever I felt like it
and stay for free.
A few years back my friend with the cabin and I dated girls who
were good friends. We would spend weekends at the Seven Springs
Resort and go back to the cabin to crash. I was pretty young about
20, but they were some of the best times of my life. Something
about the air, the sky, the whole vibe of the area like I said was
just magical. Something about being there just made the world seem
right.
It has been some time since I was twenty, ten years actually. The
cabin is gone on to a loving new owner. The girl I guess I should
say lady has moved on to bigger and better things, but I still have
Seven Springs. I will always have fond memories of the times spent
at the cabin and Seven Spring Ski Resort with that wonderful brown
eyed girl.
Even though they may be my fondest memories of Seven Springs they
are definitely not the only ones. You see Seven Springs Resort is
far from just a ski resort. I don’t even ski.
Seven Springs Resort has activities going on year round. There are
various festivals concerts and other activities for just about any
interest. They have tubing an alpine slide and a few decent bars
and restaurants.
Seven springs Ski Resort
can be romantic. Seven springs can be a fun family getaway.
Seven Springs Resort can be
magical.
