pSo, strongMobile World Congressstrong MWC has shut it8217s doors
for another year after what could possibly have been the most
exciting for Tablet PCs! You may have seen our post yesterday
bringing you the stronglatest and greateststrong bits of kit from
the manufacturer of the moment, strongHTCstrong. If you haven8217t
yet seen the post fear not, just scroll down a bit or you could
just click here if you8217ve got that Friday feeling and are
feeling a little lazy The announcements from HTC got us a little
excited but not nearly as much as the strongTabletsstrong that we
outed, read on for the skinny and our opinion on strongwhat8217s
hot and what8217s not.strongph2strongHTC Flyerstrongimg

width300 height200 h2pFirst up, we have the HTC Flyer. The first
tablet to be announced by the newly crowned handset manufacturer of
the year. It8217s been in the rumour mill for quite some time now
but it certainly seems as though it was strongworth the waitstrong
here8217s what we know. It8217s a strong7 inch devicestrong, making
it slightly smaller than the current King of the Tablets the iPad,
however don8217t let it8217s size fool you. The Flyer will be
sporting a strong1.5GHz SnapDragon Processorstrong, 1GB RAM, a 5
Megapixel rear camera, 1.3 Megapixel front facing camera and of
course, will be released running strongAndroid 2.3
GingerBreadstrong. We had hoped it8217d be launching with the
Tablet optimised version of HoneyComb but we8217re told that it
will be receiving the update so no worries there!ppIt also
incorporates something known as strongHTC Scribestrong, a
8217smart8217 stylus that can be used to annotate and edit emails,
webpages and photos. Now, you8217re probably thinking that
stylus8217 went out of fashion along with the unresponsive
resistive screen technology they were paired with quite some time
ago, but the HTC Scribe is stronga new breed of stylusstrong, one
that promises to make the stylus cool again, working in perfect
harmony with an strongultra responsive and touch friendly
capacitive screenstrong.ppstrongClick Herestrong to see a video of

srchttpblog.mobiles.co.ukwpcontentuploads201102galaxytab10.jpg alt
width286 height176 h2pThe Galaxy Tab 10.1is the strongsecond tablet
from Samsungstrong and is the bigger brother to the current 7inch
Galaxy Tab. As the name suggests, this new version has a
strong10.1inch screenstrong making it a touch bigger than the 9.7
inch screen on the iPad. Unlike the HTC Flyer, the Galaxy Tab 10.1
will strongship with Android Honeycombstrong and also boasts an
strong8 megapixel rear facing camerastrong as well as a 2 megapixel
front facing camera for video calling, or looking at yourself if a
mirror just isn8217t cool enough.ppWe8217re also told that the
Galaxy Tab 10.1 will have a pretty stronghuge batterystrong, 6,860
mAh to be exact. To give you an idea of just how large that is, the
average smartphone has around 1,500 mAh. This is good news though,
battery times should be strongmore than plentiful for even hardcore
users.strong The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is said to weight in a just shy of
600g too, which isn8217t half bad considering that8217s
stronglighter than an iPad.strongppstrongClick Herestrong to see

srchttpblog.mobiles.co.ukwpcontentuploads201102lgoptimuspad.jpg alt
width300 height200 h2pNext up, we have strongLG8217s first
entrystrong into the Tablet market with the Optimus Pad and this
promises to be something special. The Optimus Pad will be strongthe
first 3D tabletstrong that will be able to display 3D imagery and
videos as well as strongcapture and record in 3Dstrong too, oh we
should probably mention that the 3D video recording will be 720p HD
quality too thanks to the strongtwin 5 megapixelstrong rear facing
cameras. Powering this 3D touting monster is a strong1GHz Nvidia
Tegra 2 chipsetstrong which should keeps things fluid and smooth
under any load.ppThe Optimus Pad boasts an strong8.9 inch
screenstrong, putting it in between the HTC Flyer and Galaxy Tab
10.1 in terms on screen real estate and also has a front facing 2
megapixel camera.ppstrongClick Herestrong to see the Optimus Pad in

srchttpblog.mobiles.co.ukwpcontentuploads201102hptouchpad.jpg alt
width300 height200 h2pThe next tablet is our first nonAndroid entry
and comes from HP, who recently aquired a little known company
called Palm the makers of the strongPalm Prestrong. You may not
have heard about the Pre nor ever seen one, but it was a piece of
kit we felt didn8217t get the justice it deserved certainly the
strongproprietary WebOS strongsoftware it runs anyway which we felt
was actually very, very good. The recent aquisition by HP can only
be beneficial and it certainly looks as though it8217s paid off,
with the announcement of this, the TouchPad.ppIt has a strong9.7
inch screenstrong, the same as the iPad but unlike the iPad it
strongsupports Adobe Flash strongcontent meaning that the TouchPad
will play nicely with any website you want to visit. We8217re told
the TouchPad will be available in two models strongWiFi only and a
WiFi and 3G strongmodel.strong strongUnder the bonnet, you8217ll
find a strong1.2GHz processorstrong and a 6,300 mAh battery and
there8217s also a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera to boot.ppThe
TouchPad8217s real party piece though, is a little piece of
tecnology that was first devloped on the Pre, strongWireless
Charging!strong The way it does it, is that you8217ll have a
magnetic dockcradle known as the Touchstone that you can place the
TouchPad in and thanks to the strongconductive rear panelstrong,
will charge wirelessly. Note The Touchstone does require being
plugged into a powersourceppstrongClick Herestrong to see the Touch

width300 height192 h2pThe last tablet we want to talk about, is the
Motorola Xoom pronounced 8216zoom8217. We know it leaked quite a
while before MWC but it8217s still definitely worth a mention since
it was the first Tablet to be strongconfirmed with Adnroid
Honeycombstrong. The Xoom has a strong10.1 inch displaystrong,
Adobe Flash support and front and rear facing cameras to name but a
few of the specs.ppPowering the Xoom is a strongdualcore Tegra 2
chipsetstrong which will allow strongfull 1080p playbackstrong and
will likely become the processor of choice in the majority of up
and coming Smartphones. There8217s also an accelerometer and a
gyroscope thrown in for good measure.ppstrongClick Herestrong to
see the Xoom in action.ph2Conclusionh2pSo there we have it, these
are the 5 most anticipatedstrong strongTablet PCs to be demo8217d
at MWC. Deciding which would be our 8216pick8217 out of these has
been a gruelling decision, with so much on offer from each tablet
it really is down to personal needswants and more likely will be
decided by the price attached to each. If we had to make a decision
and chose which we8217re most looking forward to, it8217d be the
strongHTC Flyerstrong simply because HTC phones have absolutely
dominated the Android Smartphone market and we8217re intruiged to
see how the manufacturing prowess carries over into a tablet.
Second to the Flyer would have to be the strongOptimus Padstrong,
purely for it8217s 3D capabilities however until 3D technology is
refined and mastered, it8217s liekly that it8217ll be a little
clunky and buggy. Hopefully LG will prove us wrong.ppDo you have a
