when shopping for a stereo system I need for
the unit to be able to have all genres of music
sounding good.
I tested the unit by bringing my phone (with mp3s)
to the store I bought it from and played a few
songs. I could tell right away this stereo was
REALLY good. If you like way your music sounds on
a Bose, then you'll like the TSX-140. It really
sounds great, whether you're playing pop, easy-
listening and even sounds great when playing dance
music.
In addition to the unit being able to play audio
via AUX, I also wanted a CD player and USB input.
This box does it all!~ So, I was pretty much sold~
I actually paid more than Amazon is selling it for,
but I'd buy it all over again. To me, it's that good.
But don't take my word for it, go have a listen for
yourself~ I think you'll be shocked at the vividness
of the music you've been listening to all this time!

(More customer reviews)I was looking for a replica radio for the living room in my house that I'm decorating in the period the home was built. The entertainment center fit the bill exactly. It's hand rubbed wood cabinet and backlighted radio dial really make it look antique. The sound quality is decent. It's not overly loud nor does it have booming bass, but it's not tinny sounding either. The FM radio works very well. It picks up quite a few stations after extending the antenna wire fully. The CD player is very cheap however. You definately want to keep it away from little ones. The turntable works although, I had to tighten the spindle down before I could play a record on it. Again, it feels very cheaply made. I haven't tried the cassette player as I don't remember where my cassettes are. I rated it a 4 because it works and it looks very nice. For the money I spent on it, I expected the components to be of better quality. This particular unit comes in a couple of colors and Amazon has them broken into different products. You will find more reviews under one of the other colors.

(More customer reviews)this Sony Walkman has noise canceling mechanism built into the player. For what it's worth it does an adequate job. It probably won't do the job those expensive noise-canceling headphones can do, but it is in my opinion sufficient.
My experience in reading reviews were best if I arrange it in points rather than narratives. So I will do that here.
Strength:
1. it has outstanding sound quality. It is not that outstanding right out of the box, however. You have to tweak and toggle some settings. You have to turn on bass features and play with equalizers. I had every single version of iPods and the only iPod that comes close (but not quite) to the sound quality of this is first generation iPod shuffle. It has amazingly clean bass. The earbud that comes with the player is miles better than iPod earbuds. You usually have to spend $40-$50 for this type of earbud.
2. I actually like the size of this player over iPod nano because it is easier on my hand to grab. iPod nano was too thin and it is difficult to navigate since it is too small.
3. interface is really clean and I really like how you can skip fast to the last of the list by clicking right button. This is just one of those subtle feature that makes the experience better.
4. I like how this player has dedicated tactile volume button.
Weakness
1. it does not have gapless playback. This is a problem for me because I listen to a lot of Euro style mix musics.
2. it does not arrange songs by disc numbers. This is a problem since I arranged my albums in a way that it sorts out by disc numbers.
3. the biggest knock on this player probably is limited types of playable formats. It plays mp3, aac and wav. The problem with this is that if you have some odd formats like mp2 or ogg, when you are importing the music via windows explorer you will have problems with system crash. This is mostly windows Vista issue, however.
So most of the weaknesses are either subjective or nitpicky. Overall I love this player's sound quality. Since sound quality is the top 1st, 2nd, and 3rd important thing for me when I choose my mp3 player, this one is a winner.

Long Review (A lot to say and want to answer any questions)
I had been looking around for a good 5.1 system that decodes all the popular signals such as Dolby Digital and DTS sound.
Not Looking to spend a whole lot of cash I needed a simple solution.
I have looked around online and in stores at a variety of options.
When it came down to it I had considered heavily on the sony soundbar mainly because it was the only low price ranged sound system with 3 HDMI inputs. But when I went to bestbuy and listened to it all of my fears came true as far as volume. The soundbar was just too low unless I would have kept it cranked up. Then after weighing the other options of a receiver/speakers (Panasonic receiver)combo the price just was just barely in my range but really didnt want to spend all my cash. Then remebering that my T.V. was an LG (42pg20 42"Plasma) I decided to check out this model. Going out on a limb I was wary because of the one input.
Much to my suprise this unit is awesome for a HTS.
Now for an audiophile the 1.0% THD might discourage you but for around
$220 It something Even I could overlook.(Also have a high end 6.1 sony receiver and yamaha speakers in the house, they have like a .07 THD)
This system gets so loud too. My room is only a 14ft. by 20ft. room but I never even have to turn the volume up over half to crank it while watching a movie.(Actually never had to go over that) The sub kicks.
Also this unit not only upscales DVD's through the built-in Dvd player(which looks great) it also plays from Ipod with the INCLUDED Ipod Dock (Through OSD or via Ipod control which is cool), From USB, and from the digital optical in. (Will of course also play mp3 music, jpg pictures, and divx movies, and probably a few other formats that I am forgetting).If that wasnt enough LG also included a am/fm receiver in this unit with a loop antennae.
Hooking up the unit was straight forward, the wiring is 18 gauge wire ,About 18ft. long for the rear speakers, about 12ft. for the sub that is color coded, pre stripped at the ends and ready to go.
There is an HDMI Out (I ran to the T.V.) and a couple other outs, composite and standard RCA I think). There was a little delay in the audio from my Digital DVR cable box when I ran the HDMI Out of my cable box into my T.V. and then optical out of my T.V. into the Home theatre. Problem was solved by running the optical from my cable box straight into the home theatre. The Home theatre also automatically picks up whatever kind of sound source it needs to decode and displays it on the front of the unit.
If you have an LG T.V. with simplink then it is really simple to control the System as it syncs right up and even turns on the unit when synced and off when the T.V. turns off.
The remote for the unit also has controls for the T.V., If you dont own an LG TV then no fear as the remote is programmable for your T.V.
The OSD allows you to set aspect ratio and resolution for your T.V as well as test the speakers and turn up each one individually as necessary.
There is No way to set your own E.Q. though but the presets are good even though you probably wont even have to use them. There is also an audio delay fixer (up to 300ms).
Overall I would give it a 4.5 because of all its features but lack of inputs.Recommend to anyone on a budget and wanting a great home theatre with plenty of options.

(More customer reviews)I disagree with two of the people who have nothing good to say about this equalizer, and understand that they may be expecting it to match the performance of extremely high quality audio equipment -- which won't need it anyway.
This equalizer is extremely useful if you are trying to listen to -- say -- tapes of old time radio, shortwave broadcasts, or noisy AM signals. You can reduce harshness, improve bass response, and reduce noise effects.
However, it does have some limitations, related to its low price. At $20 retail price, such a helpful and flexible gadget will not have perfect audio performance, and it doesn't. There is a SLIGHT hiss audible at all times, apparently intrinsic in the audio chip used for the headphone amp. The hiss is introduced after the volume control; it's there all the time. Depending on the input voltage of the device to which it's connected, the hiss can be as loud as -30 dB, or as soft as -50 dB or lower; and it is predominantly a very bright hissing. So extremely efficient, bright headphones may exaggerate it. I hope Koss improves this device in a future model; but for low fidelity source material, and with phones that are not extremely bright, the hiss introduced by this device is MUCH, much lower than the hiss intrinsic in a tape, radio broadcast, or old recording and will quickly be ignored. If, however, you are hooking this to a CD player to listen with excellent phones to wideband digital recordings, you'll notice the hiss -- and be annoyed, depending on your sensibilities.
I am glad I purchased one. My intended use was to listen to cassettes of old time radio shows. Many of the commercial tapes are not well corrected and sound extremely harsh and thin; this equalizer fixes that quite nicely. The bands are well chosen to have an aural effect where poor recordings have flaws.
For background: I am a retired audio engineer with three decades in broadcasting and recording, and an enthusiast of OTR and recordings of old classic performances of music from the fifties back to the twenties, many of which NEED help that this equalizer can provide.

(More customer reviews)I give this item a 3.5 stars. It looses some stars because it really is not "simple set up" as it states. It takes some time to get it up and your files to back up the first initial time. I was extremely excited to try this product with my home network since we have two Windows PCs (1 XP & 1 Windows 7), and one Mac computer.For each desktop computer, I have installed wired external backup drives. The idea of having ONE back up drive to backup all my files, photos and iTunes music seemed to be like a dream come true. Features a 1TB storage, which is equivalent to 1000GB.
Lets start with the installation. I am using the Windows 7 PC for initial setup. First and most important, you need a Home Network, a wireless router and of course an internet connection. Enclosed in the box is a very basic "Quick Start" guide, I recommend going to the manufacturer's website and downloading the 82 page manual which gives more information. I plugged in power and Ethernet cable to my wireless router. I powered up the drive and inserted the installation CD. I named and registered my drive and added additional user accounts , one for each computer. After that was complete I had to install the software on my other Windows PC and Mac. After I installed the CD on the other PCs, a screen pops up asking to insert the username and password. It's that simple. On my Mac the installation was a little different, but I was able to easily follow the instructions and get it connected using Time Machine with no hassles. One bit of advice for Mac users, if you plan on using Time Machine to back up your files instead of using the optional Memeo Instant Backup, you need to go to Seagate Share Preferences before installing the program on the Mac. Once you are in the preferences page, enable ComputersBackup. Create a password, this password will be used to configure the program when it is installed on your Mac. This information can only be found in the downloaded Users Manual online. Luckily I read the entire manual before attempting to install the Seagate GoFlex. It did take a long, long time to backup all files and folders from all three computers, but I had no bugs or issues. Depending on how many files and folders you are having backed up, it may take all day and night. The program will just run in the background and you do not have to do anything.
The drive will automatically created three folders for each PC account, a public, personal and backup folders. The Seagate Dashboard is the centralized location for all the computer files. This only works with Windows, this is the reason I used my Windows 7 PC as the main system. On the Mac it is Seagate Share and you must use the internet to access the files. You do have the option to use the internet storage base for Windows as well if you like.
There are a few options on how you want to backup your files, I went with the automatic backup. I clicked on instant backups on my menu and the computer shows you the amount of storage that will be included in the backup. If you only what to choose certain files, you can use the advanced settings and drag which files to backup. After clicking "Start Backup", my files started backing up. Whenever I add a new file to the folder or make and changes, the Seagate GoFlex will automatically back up the new file.
Every computer in my home already has a wireless printer, so I really have no use to for the share printer option. But if you do want to use a printer wireless throughout your home network, you must attach the printer via the printer's USB cable to the Seagate GoFlex Drive.
There are many other features and options that can be used, but my primary reason for using this device is to backup the iTunes and photo files on all the computers. When you have thousands of songs and spent several hundreds of dollars on iTunes purchases for every iTunes account on each system, you want to make sure you can access your file in case something terrible happens like the internal hard drive dies. Trust me, I have had this happen to me. I always burn my photos to a CD for added protection, but this way we can share our photos from any computer.
Overall, once you get the unit installed and your files and folders backed up it is extremely easy to use. I guess time will tell if the unit is reliable for retrieving backup files if your system crashes or dies. Hopefully I will not have to find that out! :-)
UPDATE: Sometimes I am not able to gain access to my account online. This is because I use Firefox with a 64-bit operating system and currently "Flash" is not not supported for this OS. I keep getting the "Flash Crash Error Report". However, I can sign in with no troubles using Internet Explorer. So if you have troubles signing into the account online, try a different browser.
If you notice that the drives are not showing under devices in your computer, best thing to do is to unplug it for 15 seconds and then plug it back in to reboot.

(More customer reviews)I love the iPod touch, and if you are thinking of buying one, I'm sure you'll be very pleased. However, please note that there is no such thing as an 8GB 3rd generation iPod touch. Apple did not manufacture and 8GB version during the 3rd generation era. If you are buying an 8GB edition, it MUST be either a 2nd generation or a 4th generation version. Anyone claiming to sell an 8GB version of a 3rd generation unit is not providing accurate information.
For example, this serial number MC086LL/A (as described by an Amazon.com seller) is not a 3rd gen version, even though that is what they are advertising. It is probably a common misconception, but people need to know what they are buying.
One easy way to determine the version is to verify whether or not the iPod touch has a camera on the front (screen) side of the unit. If it does, this is a 4th gen model. If it does not, it is a 2nd gen model (assuming we're talking about the 8GB version specifically).
I'm not suggesting that you should avoid the 2nd generation model. I just want you to be able to make an informed purchase decision. Good luck! Hope this has helped.

(More customer reviews)I personally own this turntable. It is not a heavy duty dj constructed turntable such as their MK 2 series or the new M3D. It was designed by Technics for practical and casual in home use.It provides excellent and almost perfect accuracy with regard to very low wow and flutter (speed differences that would audibly affect playback).This is for the couch potato who likes to put an lp on and not have to worry about turning it off.The semi-automatic operation takes care of that.In addition, anti-skating and tone arm weight adjustments have already been pre set at the factory so there is no guess work for the owner.The plug in cartridge is easy to replace without having to gauge stylus contact and performance as with a pro dj turntable. However,heed my warning, here are the drawbacks: If you are a heavy vinyl user and enjoy adjusting anti skating or counter weight balance for optimal high end quality sound, this is not the table for that. Their MK2 or M3D are the tables that are suitable for those tasks.Also, I have been able to compare this table's tracking abilities using a slightly warped record (warped around the edge only) and the SLBD20D could not keep up. However, when I tried it on a Technics M3D I was able to adjust the counterweight balance and tracking force, anti-skating, etc. and low and behold the M3D stood its ground.Don't get me wrong, the SLBD20D is a well constructed table run by a very quiet belt-driven dc motor. It's a fine simple machine that sets out to do the simple operation of just playing a record. Also, not everyone can nor is willing (on a tight budget)to fork over several hundreds of dollars for a dj turntable if their lp collection is very limited. This is a great budget turntable with the feel of remarkable Technics engineering behind it !!!

(More customer reviews)I had this installed by local car stereo installer. Sounds very good. Good base response. Could use more audio modes besides just basic base/treble. Come on, how much more would it cost to add a little DSP processing? Bluetooth synched with my iPhone with no problems. Controls were a little tiny so I would not recommend trying to play with it too much while driving. The included remote should suffice once you learn where all the buttons are and what they do. I inserted a 2GB SD card and it took a few seconds to catalog all the songs and played it without a hitch. Only had MP3 files so I can't confirm if it will play any other formats.

(More customer reviews)The iLuv Flexi-Metallic case fits well, but it does not work with the screen protector it comes with. When put on the front of the iPod, the screen protector seems great. However, I tried twice to get the cover on the back of my iPod, but it interferes with the screen protector, so I finally got frustrated and left it off. When the cover comes up over the top edge of the iPod, it lifts the screen protector and makes it bubble up. Just thought others would like to know about this problem. At least the iPod screen is glass. I'll probably look into other brands of screen protectors when I get a chance. I'd give the cover 4 stars, but since it came with a flimsy screen protector, the item gets 3 stars only.

CD player inaccessible when closed. Not weatherproof. No carrying strap (has snap hook for belt). Relatively bulky and heavy. Lacks auto power-off for speaker. Case is somewhat rigid.
